Fox chuckled at Rocket's remark, a mixture of amusement and fond exasperation in his expression. "I know, I know," he replied, shaking his head slightly. "You just have this... knack for finding trouble, that's for sure." Despite his teasing tone, there was warmth in his jade-colored gaze as he looked at Rocket through his glimmering display.

Fox felt a surge of relief upon learning that Groot had settled well into the new ship alongside the rest of Rocket's crew. However, as he drew closer to his destination back on Corneria, a twinge of longing tugged at that heart of his. Despite the distance, he found himself missing Rocket, and while it was painfully written in his eyes, he refrained from letting his emotions ruin their video call.

A warm smile graced Fox's lips as he listened to Rocket speak about Groot, sensing the underlying vulnerability beneath his words. It warmed Fox's heart to hear the genuine affection in Rocket's voice as he talked about the sapling. "You know what they say, family isn't always blood," Fox remarked, his arms gesturing emphatically as he spoke. "I mean, hell, I've been with my team for years, and they're the closest thing to family I've got." He paused, a reflective gleam in his eyes. "You cherish that," He paused for a brief moment. "-hold it close to your heart. Sometimes family is the friends and, well... In our case, 'team' you make." Fox's voice softened with sincerity as he continued. "I always say, you're allowed to have choices of who you consider your family."

Fox couldn't resist mirroring Rocket's smirk with one of his own, his eyes fixed on the Procyon's through his slightly-fuzzy display. "I don't know," Fox replied, his voice soft but playful. "Do I?" He raised an eyebrow, adding a hint of teasing uncertainty to his expression. He couldn't help but feel a slight blush creeping up his cheeks under his cream colored fur. "Casual, huh... So, sweatpants and a tank top, Is that casual enough for you?" Fox teased back, his ears flicking at the low, teasing tone in Rocket's voice. He couldn't help but chuckle at the 'fashion-show' comment. "Alright, fine, I'll give you a fashion show like you've never seen," he quipped, a playful glint in his eye. "Just hope you can keep that jaw of yours from dropping." He added with a coy little wink.

"Hey now, being a big softie has it's perks, you know," Fox responded with a chuckle, a playful glint in his eyes. "I'd say, and I quote, 'it wouldn't hurt you to at-least 'try' and stay out of trouble'." Fox added playfully as his hands became more animated as he spoke, emphasizing his point. "-But it seems to find you guys, from what you've told me, huh?" A loving-yet-playful smirk drew across his lips.

From what Fox knew, Rocket was doing his best to stay out of trouble. He couldn't be 'too' upset if he was. More or less, he'd be worried, knowing full well Rocket had the capabilities to handle his own. Rocket had this strange influence on him as well, encouraging Fox to be a bit more laid back, not as uptight as he typically could or would be. Maybe it was a certain dynamic Rocket had on him, being his partner and all. They both seemed to bring out different sides of each other.

"Yeah, there are plenty of books out there about it," Fox remarked thoughtfully. "Not that I've tried reading any," he admitted with a small chuckle, "I'm more of a 'learn as you go' kind of guy. Sometimes, you just have to dive in and do your best, hoping for the best outcome." To Fox, he knew Rocket was a great father figure to Groot, even if Rocket may have some 'doubt' about it himself. "I think in time you will see, you know?" Fox added as he rested his chin on the back of his paw, shooting Rocket a warm smile.

Fox listened intently as Rocket's expression turned more serious, understanding the weight of his words. When Rocket glanced out the doorway to make sure Groot wasn't nearby, Fox remained silent. It was starting to become more obvious to Fox when Rocket would feel a bit more vulnerable, even through a screen.

"I don't think Groot is an accident. I think he's a blessing, not only for you, but your team. From the incredible stories you all shared with me about 'the old Groot', he may be that bit of glue that you guys need to help hold you all together." Fox didn't want to sound like he was talking out of his ass here, and he took the way Rocket felt incredibly serious. "I guess," He paused for a moment, scratching the back of his neck thoughtfully. "-What i'm trying to say is, you may have given him something you always wanted... A family. People you know he can trust." He muttered, staring into the Procyon's eyes through the glimmering display in-front of him.

Fox grinned at Rocket's enthusiasm, he couldn't help it. There was something that just made the mercenaries heart melt when Rocket would flash him even the smallest smile.

"Oh Please, you just wanna see me out of my uniform?" Fox teased with a wink, tho his voice was quiet (and sultry) enough to make sure no one else could hear him. Not only on Rocket's end of the video-feed, but in the confines of his own space. "I think it could be quite fun, and besides, who doesn't like to have a nice set of clothes? Even if it's just something you can casually lounge around in or whatever?"

Mun Here!

I just want to say thank you to everyone who has sent me asks (I have a few more I will try to get to tomorrow). It's been so much fun interacting, answering, and rping! I have had a total blast. It's been loads of fun!! I want my little space here to be fun, safe, and exciting for everyone. Star Fox has been this safe space for me since I was in high school, as well as GOTG (because of my best friend). I have had so much happen in my life personally. Good and bad. I am eternally grateful! I want my blog here to feel welcoming to everyone. I will also be making a tag-list in the future that way people are able to follow (or block) certain tags if they so choose here on my blog. I look forward to interacting with more characters, muses, people and making new friends along the way. Once again, thank you for making me feel so welcomed.

What parts of themselves do they tend to hide?

Resting a finger upon his chin, Fox pondered the unusual question. "What parts of myself do I try to hide?" he repeated, a thoughtful furrow in his brow. "I suppose you could say it's the aspects that make me feel vulnerable," he reflected, recalling a similar inquiry. "But then again, aren't we all a little vulnerable in some way?" he mused, acknowledging the shared experiences (almost) everyone has.

Fox hides allot of parts of himself, typically his own vulnerability. Which you can read in this response here! Allot of these things listed can be classified as things he would consider hiding from others.

Aside from his vulnerability, he tends to hide SOME of these:

Fear: Fox does his best to conceal his fear. It's not something he touches on, but even he has his own fears. Those are things he will do his best to hide from others. The fear of his own weaknesses being used against him, rather that is emotional or physical. A Darker Side of Himself: Fox has his own fair share of grappling with a more 'vengeful' side of his personality. This can fall in line with his anger issues and resentment (of corse his own vengefulness), and fears it could lead him down a much darker path. Emotional Turmoil: Despite his tough exterior (or fluffy, as some might say) - Fox harbors a depth of emotion beneath the surface. However, he tends to keep his emotional struggles, such as grief or loss, to himself, often times, he doesn't want to burden his team with his personal issues. This may stem from a desire to maintain strength and composure as the leader of Star Fox, but it also reflects his reluctance to impose his own emotions on others.

What do they like/dislike about themselves?

"You're just full of questions, aren't you?" Fox chuckled lightly to himself before continuing. "You know," he mused, a soft smile gracing his lips, "if there's one thing I really admire about myself, it's probably how loyal I am to my team and friends." He paused for a moment, reflecting on the bonds he held dear.

"As for something I'm not 'too fond of,'" he continued with yet another chuckle, "maybe my terrible sense of direction on rare occasions. But hey," he added with a grin, "good thing Falco keeps me in check. It does make our trips into unknown territory a bit more interesting!"

What Fox Likes About himself: Impeccably dressed: Fox takes great pride in his appearance, always striving to be as well-dressed and presentable as possible. It's a reflection of his meticulous nature and attention to detail, and he takes immense satisfaction in looking his best. Kind-hearted: He wears his heart on his sleeve, showing kindness and empathy to those around him without hesitation. While he sometimes views this openness as a vulnerability, he ultimately appreciates the strength it takes to be so authentically himself. What Fox Dislikes About Himself: Self-doubt: He dislikes this tendency to second-guess himself, as it can undermine his own confidence and leadership. Vulnerability: He sometimes dislikes his reluctance to show vulnerability. He understands the importance of opening up and seeking support from his team and friends, but he finds it challenging to let down his guard and reveal those inner struggles.

Thematic Headcanons

Fox's morning rituals vary depending on how well he rested and his current location. If he's had a restful night's sleep, he rises with a sense of vigor and determination, ready to tackle the challenges of the day ahead. But if his sleep was restless or if he's in an unfamiliar environment, he 'may' awaken with heavy eyes and a sense of grogginess, his movements slow and deliberate as he shakes off the remnants of sleep.

Typically, Fox likes to have coffee, often in the dining area or patio of his own home. If he is on The Great Fox, it's typically where he would usually reside at (the main control room) or hangar. He's been known to get up 'kinda' moody or groggy at times and likes to take this time to do some self reflection before moving on with whatever plan is set in stone for the day. Rather he's on a mission, or by himself at home.

After he's had his morning coffee, (most likely in his boxers) or whatever sleepwear he was in. He will (occasionally) resort to a small breakfast. Nothing too fancy, but something to get him through til the afternoon. Followed by a shower, brushing his teeth, and of corse followed by a very extravagant fur-care routine. Fox has a knack for wanting to look as presentable as he can.

As the morning progresses, Fox might take a leisurely walk or do laps around the hangar to stay in shape. If it's a crucial mission day, he might be hyper-focused on strategizing with his team, plotting their next move with precision.

Fox's morning rituals lack a set order, simply, they are based on his needs and circumstances. However, one thing remains constant: his morning coffee habit.

What are their fears?

"Believe it or not," Fox paused for a moment, his voice tinged with a hint of vulnerability. "I've got my fair share of fears." He took a deep breath, steadying himself. "But if I had to pick my top one, it'd be losing my team. It's not something I usually talk about. They're the backbone of Star Fox, and without them, I wouldn't be where I am today." A somber expression settled on his face as he added, "They're like family to me, and the thought of losing any of them... Well... That's a fear that never leaves."

Fox McCloud has quite a few different fears, so here are 5 of them.

Losing his family: Without them (his team), he knows he wouldn't be where he is now. Failure: is yet another fear McCloud has, once again, revolving around his team. He can't bare the thought of failing them or failing to accomplish a mission. Betrayal: Fox often relies on trust and loyalty. This isn't just with his own team, but anyone he encounters along his ventures through the galaxy. (Mostly if they are someone lending a hand to the Star Fox team during combat.) Abandonment: Since the loss of his father, Fox has this underlying fear of being alone. Physically and mentally. Losing Himself: His identity is tied to his role as a leader and a pilot. Whether it's through succumbing to darkness or losing sight of his values. Challenging his sense of self and purpose with every decision he makes.

"Y'know, loyalty's a big deal for me and my team. We're tight-knit, but if I had to pick one stand-out..." He paused for a moment, taking a moment to think strongly about this particular question. "-it'd be Peppy Hare. He's been there since my old man passed, kinda took me under his wing. I look up to him like a father figure, for sure."

Fox McCloud is fiercely loyal to his team and anyone who treats him with respect, dignity, and kindness. He's the kind of guy who wears his heart on his sleeve, so if you show him some goodness, you can bet he'll do the same for you. His loyalty to his team—Falco, Slippy, and Peppy—is like family to him. He holds them in the highest regard, and that loyalty is rooted in the deep bonds they've forged over time. They've always had his back, and he'll always have theirs.
