Is Dolores gift actually a curse?

Hi and welcome to another of my Ted talks! I'm here to show you my theory that Dolores gift is actually her curse to change her attitude. Here we go!

When you first see this title, you think "Why would Casita give someone a curse if it's literally a miracle?" One thing. It's magical. In all the magic-based movies, we can see the magic isn't just beautiful, but also dangerous. We have spells that can give fortune, love and help people, but also the ones that can give unluck, hurt or even kill somebody. If all the magic has to sides, why wouldn't Casita have?

Also, as seen in many movies, curses aren't just to ruin people's life, but also to change them and learn them a lesson. The best example? Pinoccio! He was given a curse of growing nose whenever he lies, to prevent him from doing it. And I think Dolores gift is one of it.

The second prove I have is actual gift. Dolores can hear all the sounds, separetly from huge distance like heard in the "Welcome to family Madrigal" - "My cousin Dolores can hear this chorus a miles away". It first can be a nice gift, because you can hear when people are going to do something bad or see if your friends are real. But imagine hearing every single sound someone makes. Going to sleep, and hearing every step someone makes, every word someone say, EVERYTHING. This is a pain in ears. You can see Dolores has to do everything quietly, she is clapping with her index fingers and she covers her ears when the fireworks explode. If she hasn't done any of it, with her gift she would be deaf now. Or she would go crazy from all those sounds. Why would Casita give someone a gift that can literally damage you?

The third prove - Dolores behavior. You can see that she can be a backstabber, and she is a huge gossiper. When she finds out Mirabel has found Bruno's vision, she just tells it the moment no one looks at her. Not cool. And when the dinner becomes a disaster, she just yells it. Really not cool. We can clearly see she knows how to run her mouth. And with her gift she can hear everybody's secret in the town. Can you imagine the pressure of walking next to someone who, I don't know, sits on a toilet facing the wall. Yeah, that's a weird example, but still valid.

So, here is my theory. When Dolores was a little kid, she was a eavesdropper. She would always hide somewhere listening to people's secret, and then spread it around the town. Even when Pepa tried, she couldn't keep her from gossiping. Casita knew it and decided to teach Dolores a lesson. So, when she was 5 years old, she gave her a gift of hearing everything. She liked to know what everybody's doing, so now she can hear it really clearly. That made Dolores keep her mouth shut, keep her ears covered next to loud noises, and she eventually took the consequences of gossiping and eavesdropping. And now she lives with a curse of hearing everything. Everybody. Every. Single. Secret.

While reading your comics with Aziraphale and Crowley I remembered when our priest told my class a story, when he was on a trip with students, a weird woman that had sat next to him in museum said that vaccination is a creation of Satan.
