These are quite possibly the most beautiful cookies I've ever made! Gingerbread tiles with a rum butter glaze. The stamps are from @nordicwareusa and the recipe is modified from the cookbook Sweet: Desserts from London's Ottolenghi. I'll absolutely be making these again. It's the end of Dia De Los Muertos, and I'm reluctant to take down my ofrenda. It's small and missing some dear loved ones, but this is the first year I've had anything for them. It was so comforting to remember them this year. Next year I'll add the missing people, and do my best to hold their memory. Honestly though, I'm pretty happy with this for now. The baking bug hit last night, so I rummaged in the cabinets and used some left over pie crust to make peanut butter toaster pastries topped with chocolate icing. In hindsight I used a little too much peanut butter, but the hubby loves them, which is all I care about. If I did it over, I'd mix the peanut butter with either sugar or condensed milk to smooth it out a bit. This, to me, is what feminism can be. It's not always like this because we don't value the feminine, but I truly believe that women fight towards something else. It's not about power or domination, it's about creating a better world for everyone.
