Same thing for Aaron Hotchner, from Criminal Minds.

Summary: Alden Parker reconnects with his first love and it gets him all confusedÂ

Warnings: age gap relationship
Part 2 coming soon!
Alden didnât imagine heâd get married again. But he also never imagined heâd meet someone like you. Someone who makes him the happiest heâs ever been, someone who makes his life easier, someone who loves him unconditionally. He didnât even plan the proposal. One day, he cheated death at work and all he could think of was you. All the things he wanted to tell you, everything he wanted to do with you, how he didnât want to die just for the sole purpose to see your pretty face everyday. So, when he came home that day, he asked you to marry him.Â
You said yes. Alden knew you would, because you never hid the fact that you would like to someday. Your first marriage was a spur of the moment decision that didnât last. In your mind, it barely felt like a marriage. And you wanted another try.Â
Especially with this man.Â
Not wanting a big wedding didnât mean youâd elope, or wouldnât prepare something.Â
âI wish, but I donât have a name yet. What I can tell you is that whoever it is, they know a lot about you and you need to change all of your passwords.â
âYeah, I worked on the most important things already and Iâll do the rest once I get home.â
Kasie grinned while Alden looked at her, confused. She tapped on her keyboard and a picture showed up on her screen. A picture of you and Alden.Â
Alden chuckled and stared at the picture. It was a selfie you took during birdwatching. You were both bundled up because it was during winter. Alden was wearing your beanie heâs been refusing to give back, his arm is around your shoulders and heâs kissing your cheek while youâre smiling at the camera.Â
âDo the others know?â
âNot yet. But why are you hiding her from us?â
âKasie, come on. Donât tell me that when you saw the picture, you didnât think that I was too old for her.â
âI honestly didnât. I mean, do I see the age difference? Yes. But it doesnât shock me or anything. You two look super cute together!â
âAll on her. But donât worry, yâall have seats at our wedding, Iâm just waiting for the right time to bring it up.âÂ
âI canât wait! Congratulations,â Kasie goes in for a hug, Alden freezes, as heâs not used to that kind of attention at work, for just a second before returning the embrace.Â
âThank you, Kas. Does she need to change all her passwords and everything?â
âDoesnât look like they were interested in her, but better be safe than sorry.â
âAlright. Iâm gonna get home to my girl and explain to her why I missed the caterer appointment.â
And he did just that. When he got home, he found you in the greenhouse, curled up on the couch with a book, and some music playing. âEvening my love,â you greeted him with a soft smile and he immediately crashed on the couch with you, his head finding its way on your lap. You put your book down, and started playing with his hair. âTell me.â
âWell, we had a murder victim in a cheap motel, and the room was rentedâby me.â
âHuh?â
âYeah, I got my identity stolen.â He rose up from your lap, kissing you softly. âSpent the rest of my day resetting pretty much everything. You can cut the credit card you have from my bank account, my phone password is now the six first digits of your social, and you probably should change all your passwords too, just in case.â He kissed you again, âso yeah, that was my day.â
âIâm so sorry, baby. Do you know who did this?â It was so insane you couldnât figure out what to say more.
âNot yet, but I will. How did the appointment go?â
âWait right hereâÂ
You stood and went to get all the food in the kitchen. You settled everything on the coffee table in the greenhouse, separated in three groups: fav, need something different, not your thing. You offered Alden to dig in while he told you more about his awful day. And he had a lot to say, because he was infuriated.Â
âHow could this happen? I protect everything, use probably more safety softwares than anyone,â
âTell me about it.â You rolled your eyes, and it earned the reaction you were hoping for as he playfully threw his napkin to you. Ever since youâve been dating Alden, you learned more about technology than youâd ever cared for. He scolded you more times than you could count because youâre not being safe enough online.Â
âI just donât understand. Who and why? And how is it related to our murder case? By the way, this is good!â
âSalmon toast.â You informed him. âAnd I know youâll answer those questions very quickly. I just hope youâre not in danger.â
âNo, princess, donât worry. Can we move on to the cakes now?â
You went to the kitchen again to get the two cake samples you came home with. âIâll let you figure out which one is my fav.â You put the pieces in front of him, and kissed him. Youâre barely back on the couch that heâs pointing at one of them.Â
âThatâs your fav.â
You sighed and giggled. âWe donât have any secrets left from each other, do we?â
He grabbed your fav, and started tasting it. âBy the way, did he make you pay for taking all of this home?â
âUm, no. I suppose itâll be on the check after the wedding.â
He fed you some cake.Â
âBut what if we donât choose him?â
âI donât know. Maybe it was a commercial gesture. So, what do you think?â
âI think he was hitting on you.âÂ
You laughed at that.Â
âDen. I was there for our wedding. Thatâd be bold of him.âÂ
âActually, heâwas. But he didnât hit on me!â
âSure, princess. Sure.â He put the plate down and grabbed the other piece of cake. The man can eat, especially when itâs something sweet.
âAlden, Iâm serious!â Youâre uncontrollably giggling. He wasnât upset or anything. People hitting on you or flirting with you has been a part of his life, even when heâs right there. But he trusts you with all his heart. Whether that guy was hitting on you, whether he was a hot dude or not, Alden knew you only saw the caterer in him. And thatâs something that makes him love you even more.
âThen, tell me he didnât give you his phone number.â
âHis phone number is his business number, I already had it. HA.â
He chuckled with his mouth full, seeing how proud you were to prove him wrong.
âOkay, point for you. I guess weâll see at the next appointment.â
âIf you show up.â
âHey, thatâs very uncalled for!â
âYeah well, you deserved it.â You kissed his cheek briefly but Alden had other plans. He put the second plate down before grabbing you by the waist to bring you onto his lap. He held your face, stroking your cheeks with his thumb, âHow did I get this lucky?â He whispered before leaning in for a kiss that you happily and eagerly welcomed.Â
It quickly turned into a make out session that just as quickly turned into passionate sex in the greenhouse. Once you both caught your breath and found your strength back, Alden carried you to the bathroom where you showered together.Â
Alden always wakes up earlier than you, but the next day, he woke up extremely early. This identity thief thing is driving him crazy and he needs to figure it out the fastest possible. He tried to get ready as quietly as possible, not wanting to wake you up. He made himself a coffee that he drank quickly, left a note on the kitchen island, and went to give you a forehead kiss before leaving for the office. âBe safe, Special Alden.â you sleepily told him. He cursed under his breath for waking you up.
âAlways. Youâre stuck with me forever.â
âWhoâs gonna bring the news to my boyfriend?â
âItâs 6am, you canât joke at 6am while your eyes arenât even open.â
âThatâs my superpower.âÂ
Eyes still closed, you found his collar and pulled him into you. His lips found yours.Â
âBaby, I gotta get to work.â
âItâs 6am, you said so!âÂ
âAnd thereâs someone out there who stole my identity.â
Your eyes were now opened as you tried to unbutton his shirt, but Alden immediately grabbed your hands to make you stop.Â
âPlease, it was hard enough to get out of this bed.â He was literally giving you puppy eyes.Â
âFine.â you pecked him, âLeave now.â You completely let go of him, he kissed you one more time before rushing out of the apartment, shouting his love for you on his way.
Alden and the team figured out who stole his identity during the day. And he immediately figured out how this guy did it. Ryan is Aldenâs first loveâs son, his mother probably told him about young Alden Parker. But that wasnât the worst part of this, because Ryan was actually their suspect for the murder. And he had to go see a woman he hasnât seen in over 40 years to tell her that.Â
This day wasnât going like he had planned.
He was a nervous wreck on the way to Joyâs house. He knew what she looked like thanks to the internet, but he had no idea what her reaction would be, especially since he wasnât coming with good news. Heâs not a dad, but he can imagine what a parent would feel at that moment.
He definitely did not expect to get sucker punched in the stomach though. Did he deserve that?
Over the conversation, he finally understood what had happened all those years ago. Why Joyâs parents decided to move away one day - he was the reason -, why she never wrote back to him even though she kept every one of his letters - that Ryan stole and used to steal Aldenâs identity.Â
The case was far from over and he couldnât dwell on all of this and more. But he knew heâd come back, without Tim to listen.Â
The ride back to the office was pretty silent.Â
âDo you want to talk about what happened?â Tim kindly offered.Â
âNot really. I need time to process.â
âFair enough. You uncovered a lot and Iâm sure thereâs more.â
Alden grabbed his phone and realized you sent him a text over an hour ago. The kind of texts you send him everyday when heâs at work, to let him know that youâre thinking of him.Â
âLove you, Superman. I may have some company when you get home tonight, please donât be jealous. Take some time to breathe and stay hydrated (coffee doesnât do the trick).â
âNot jealous, but whoâs the company? Also, coffee is made withâŠwater. I love you.â
âMy boyfriend I told you about this morning. My sweet Max.â
He chuckled when reading your text. Max is your neighborâs eight years old son, whom you and/or Alden babysit sometimes. The neighbor is a single mom who works two jobs to give the best life possible to her son, and the father has never been seen nor heard of.Â
âThe only other guy you can have in your life. Is he sleeping over?â
Alden spent the rest of the ride telling Tim about you, your relationship, the wedding and why he kept it a secret until now.Â
âAre you going to tell her about Joy?â McGee asked as they were walking from the parking lot to the office.
âYes. No reason I keep that to myself, right?â
Right?
An hour after you got home from work, your neighbor dropped off her son. Little Max immediately hugged you, clearly happy to spend time with you. His mom thanked you again for babysitting him, and it turned out heâs spending the night and youâd drop him off at school in the morning. When Max first appears, you directly saw that he was carrying his avocado plant, which was growing. And when his mom left, he rushed to the greenhouse, putting his plant to its designated place. âYouâre taking such good care of it, Aldenâs gonna be very happy.âÂ
âThank you. Is he coming home soon?â
âI hope so, Iâll text him.â
âCan I water the plants?â
âHow about we wait for him to do it? We wouldnât want to overfeed them, right?â
âYouâre right! Can we play a game?â
âSure, you know where they are.âÂ
He rushed again but this time to the closet where the board games are. You took this opportunity to text Alden.Â
âMax has been here for less than 5min and heâs already asking for you. Coming home soon? â€ïžâÂ
Little boy came back with a game and you two settled in the greenhouse to play. During the game, he told you about school, his friends, what heâs been up to like you hadnât seen each other for months, even though you babysat him the previous week. He reminded you about his big soccer game on Saturday, asking again if you and Alden would be here.Â
âOf course we will be here, cutie. Gotta support our champ!â
He smiled big, extremely proud.Â
âJust wrapping up, do I grab McDonalds on my way? Secret tho.â
Smiling, he approached to give you a kiss. âHey you.â
âHello handsome.â
He joined Max in the greenhouse, to look at the plant. You snapped a picture behind their backs. âYouâre doing good, Max.â He praised him and the little boy was very proud.Â
âCan we water the plants now?â
âFood first,â you called out. âUnless you want to eat cold nuggets.â
After dinner, they finally water the plants. Then you all played a quick game, and settled in front of a short movie. Max was between you and Alden, enjoying some cuddles. You know that it was past his bedtime when Max got into bed, but your time with him is so limited, you and Alden want to enjoy as much as you can.Â
Your man was finally able to take his long awaited shower, and found you waiting for him on the bed.Â
âYou know you can take your shirt off when youâre in our room, right?â You teased him. Once he showers, Alden only has some loose shorts on, bare chested. But when Max is over, he makes sure to have a shirt on. Just like you make sure to wear appropriate clothes too.Â
âIf I take my shirt off, youâre gonna jump on me.â He climbs into bed with you, covering your body with his.Â
âYou make it sound like I canât control myself.â
âYou canât control yourself. But I love that about you.â
He kisses you softly, before resting his head in your neck.Â
âYou never had it this good, did you?â
He chuckles and you can hear it in your entire body. âNever.â
You laid down silently like this for a moment.Â
âI need to talk to you.â
âOkay, sounds serious. Tell me.âÂ
He moved away to lay down next to you, facing each other. And he started to tell you about his day. Figuring out who stole his identity, and then that this guy was his first loveâs son.Â
Alden had told you about Joy once. You were still getting to know each other, and talking about past relationships. He didnât really go into details as he didnât know what went wrong back then. But now he knows.Â
âSo, you saw her today? For the first time in whatâover forty years?â
âYup.â He breathed out.Â
âAndâ what did that make you feel?â
âIââ he thought for a moment. âI donât know. I mean, it wasâweird. I didnât expect to see her again, and definitely not in those circumstances.âÂ
âI bet. Since you havenât found her son yet, youâll probably see her again?â
âVery plausible, yes.â
You stroked his beard, âDo I need to worry?â You genuinely asked.Â
âWhat? Baby, no!â He grabbed your hand and kissed your palm softly. âI love you, and itâs not changing, believe me. Yes, itâs disturbing to see her again, but you have nothing to worry about.â He looked so sincere, you couldnât doubt him. He leaned in to kiss you softly. You wanted more, but neither of you are comfortable with having sex when Max is sleeping over. So you settled for cuddles.
In the morning, you and Alden woke up at the same time to prepare Max a healthy breakfast before waking him up. It took him a long moment to actually wake up. âNext time, no movie.â Alden whispered to you as you were both looking at Max practically sleeping above his pancakes.Â
âWe say that every time.â
âTrue. Wakey wakey, Max!â
The little boy was straddled. âDo you want me or Alden to take you to school?â
âBoth of you!âÂ
You looked at Alden. âCan you drop me off at work?âÂ
âSure but we donât take off at the same time.â He answered.Â
âThereâs something called Uber. Very good creation.â
âWhatâs Uber?â Max asked.Â
You and Alden never carpool as his schedule is too random. It was nice to do it that morning, with Max in the backseat. Sweet boy made sure to kiss both of you before leaving the car to go into school. âI love you!â He said right before closing the door. You both spent a long time staring at each other in disbelief that the car behind honked.Â
âDid he mean it?â Alden asked as he drove off.Â
âKids donât say things like that if they donât mean it.â
âHe never said it before, right?â
âNope. But itâs okay. I mean, he sees us a lot, he hears us saying it to each other, he likes being with us. Weâre like his fav aunt and uncle.âÂ
âAlright. I guess it makes sense.âÂ
âWe shouldnât be overthinking this.â
But you spent the day thinking about two things only: Maxâs âI love youâ, and Alden probably seeing his ex again. You were clearly overthinking.Â
Alden didnât really want to see Joy again. Mostly because he didnât want to feel things he wasnât supposed to feel. Itâs never easy to see your first love, but itâs worse when you never had closure. It stopped so abruptly. One day, she was his whole world and the next one, she was gone and never heard of again until now. Her departure was the reason he turned his life around, stopped being the juvie he was from a young age. But it wasnât about the departure per se. He changed for her, he wouldâve anyways. He wanted to be a better man for Joy, being worth her love. At 16, he already imagined marrying her, spending his entire life with her. Sixteen years old Alden Parker considered Joy Sullivan to be the love of his life.Â
And he was never able to shake that feeling away.Â
But the case took him back to her house. He needed her help to find Ryan, and it turned out he was right there, hiding at his motherâs house. Alden was upset that she started to lie, but could he really hold it against her? She did what every mother wouldâve done. As he was driving back to the headquarters with Joy in the passenger seat and Ryan in the back, his mind shifted off to Max. He loves this boy very much, and he would adopt him on the spot if he could. He knows youâd too. And youâd probably do exactly what Joy did to protect that little guy.Â
âPark, are you listening to me?â
âIâm sorry, what?âÂ
âYouâre gonna do everything to help my kid, right? Heâs very stupid and did some bad stuff, but heâs not a murderer.â
âJoyââ
âPlease, Park.â
Not many people call him Park anymore. You hated that nickname from the beginning. âWhy donât they call you Parking Lot while they are at it?â You told him, making him laugh. And at NCIS, heâs either Alden or Parker. Which he preferes.Â
When he felt Joyâs hand on his arm, he almost jumped off his seat while driving. Physical contact cannot be added. He looked briefly at her and realized she needed to be reassured. âIâll do my best.â He told her. She didnât take her hand away immediately, but instead squeezed his biceps. He canât tell you that or itâd drive you crazy.Â
You texted Alden a couple of times throughout the day. The first one received a brief answer while the second remained unanswered. After work, you ran some errands for the wedding, scheduled another appointment with the caterer, got a little something for Max to give him after his game on Saturday, and got some groceries. You spent some time on the phone with your best friend to schedule your wedding dress shopping, even though you knew exactly what you wanted. Sheâs insisting on throwing you a bachelorette party but you keep fighting her off. As you were cooking, you called Aldenâs best friend Jeremy to know when heâll be free to go with Alden to try on wedding suits.Â
âSweetie, I hope Parker is not letting you organize everything by yourself?â
âHeâs been quite busy with work lately, but itâs okay. I enjoy doing it.â
âAlright. Is Eli still the ring bearer?â
âWith Max.â You reminded him.
âHey Iâm good with it, itâs Eli whoâs not happy to share the spotlight.â
âTell him no one is stealing his godfather away.â
âSure will. Have you heard about his sister?â
âThe Admiral who thinks this wedding is a joke? Of course not.â
âMore food for us, right?â
âI honestly donât care but I know itâll hurt Den if she doesnât show up.âÂ
âBut heâll be married to the love of his life, and thatâs the most important.â
âYeah I guess.â
âUh oh. Whatâs wrong?â
âNothing, nothing.â
âSweetie, please.â
Not a lot of people know Alden the way Jeremy knows him. If someone could reassure you, thatâd be him. So you told him about Aldenâs latest case and Joy. Jeremy didnât hesitate a second before being reassuring, telling you how much Alden loves you.Â
âHe loves you so much heâs marrying you. And believe me, that was not in his plans.â
âI knowâ Can I ask you something, Jer?â
âSure.â
âHas he ever talked about kids to you?â
âYou mean having kids with you?â
âYes.â
âBriefly. He does think heâs too old to have kids now. ButâI feel like it wouldnât take much work to convince him. He always wanted to be a dad.â
âHeâd make a wonderful dad.â
âAnd youâd make an amazing mama.â
âThank you, Jer. Iâm sorry for bothering you.â
âNone of that! Weâre family.â
When you hung up, you cried because of those last words. You didnât have a family of your own anymore so it meant the world to have a chosen family now, that you have thanks to one man only.Â
You were already in bed when Alden got home. It can happen, nothing new there, but that night felt different because you couldnât help but to wonder if it was because of her. You quickly turned off your night light, put your phone down and pretended to sleep. You heard Alden slowly entering the bedroom, probably to check on you. He took off some of his clothes and circled the bed to be on your side. He pushed hair off your face and gently kissed your forehead. His lips lingered on your skin, and you couldnât pretend any longer. âWelcome home.â
âSorry, I didnât mean to wake you.â
âI wasnât in deep sleep, itâs okay. You got home late.â
âI know. Case may involve some spies, itâsâshitty. How was your day?â
âHow about you go take your shower and join me? Thereâs some food in the fridge if you want.â
âBe back in 5.â
He kissed your forehead again and was off to the bathroom. You watched the time and it was more than fifteen minutes long. You hate reading into the little things like this, but you canât shake that gut feeling.Â
Alden finally crawled under the sheets, and spooned you, kissing your shoulder. His arms trapped you and you loved every second of it. You softly kissed his left hand. âI canât wait til thereâs a ring there.âÂ
âTwo months.âÂ
âYup. And youâre going to try on suits next weekend with Jer.â
âAlright. Did you check with him?â
âOf course. Also, Tay is insisting on throwing me a bachelorette party, but I think thereâs no point, cause I donât have enough women in my life to make it an actual partyââ
âIâm sure Kasie, Jess and Delilah would love to be a part of it.â
You forced your way out of his arms so you could turn around to face him. âDo they finally know?â
âI told you Iâd tell them before the wedding.â
âWell yes, but why now? Duringâthis case?â
âIt has nothing to do with Joy. Kasie figured it out when she worked on finding out how and who stole my identity. Just made sense to tell everyone else.â
Smiling big, you grabbed his sweet face and kissed him. Youâve been wanting him to tell his team from the beginning but didnât want to pressure him as you knew why he wasnât telling them. It didnât go well when his coworkers at the FBI found out he was dating someone 20 years younger than him.Â
âSo, can I meet them?â
He chuckled. âYes, weâll organize something after the case. Okay?â
You kissed him more, and more intensely. You didnât have sex yesterday, and that was one day too much. Alden answered your kisses but when he felt your hands traveling south, he stopped. âBaby, Iâm exhausted.â
âOh, okay. Sure.âÂ
Alden turned you down a few times in the past, just like you turned him down too. You never thought of it twice, nor were disappointed about it, sometimes youâre not in the mood and thatâs okay. But it was different that night. Was he really exhausted or was it because of her? You tried to hide your overthinking, and laid back down.Â
âI love you.â You whispered.
âMe too.â
He cuddled you for a few minutes, before turning to his side. Leaving you with so many questions you only fell asleep around 4am. When your alarm went off, you grabbed your phone and were ready to throw it across the room. But the bed felt cold. You moved your legs aroundâŠempty. You listened and the apartment was silent. You went to the kitchen and found a note where it always is.Â
âEarly morning. Have a nice day, princess. Love you.â
Did you not feel his usual forehead kiss or did he not give it?
The case was solved during the day. Ryan was indeed innocent, as his girlfriend was killed by Russian spies. Alden was very happy to put this one to rest, even though he knew it wasnât solving what was going on through his mind. It just kept getting worse.Â
Author's note: first work for Captain Perez from Fire Country! this show became my absolute fav, and I have a soft spot for Manny! I hope there are several others like me out there!
Summary: Pregnancy scare leads to a long awaited convo and decisions
Warnings: age gap, pregnancy (talk), kinda smut towards the end
Keeping a relationship secret in a small town like Edgewater isnât an easy thing to do. Especially when youâve lived there most of your life and know basically everyone. Even more when the person you are dating works for Cal Fire and more specifically, is the Captain of Three Rock. But somehow, you and Manny Perez managed to do it. For almost two years.Â
At first, keeping it a secret was the best thing to do, for everyone. You were quite younger than Manny, became friends with his daughter Gabriela, and so close to the Leones, you feel like one of them. You grew up with Bode and Riley, making Vince and Sharon your surrogate parents. Manny respects them way too much to do anything to jeopardize his friendship with them. After all, he considers that Sharon saved his life when she welcomed him into Three Rock several years ago, allowing him to turn his life around.
But time went by. You and Manny were very much in love, becoming pretty serious. Or so you thought, until that day when everything came crashing down.Â
You thought you were pregnant. Your period was late, which never happens. You felt tired, your breasts were hurting. This couldâve been just PMS symptoms but something didnât feel like it was. You thought about getting a pregnancy test, but you knew everyone at the pharmacy. So, you ordered it online and the next day, there it was.
A part of you wanted to do this with Manny, but you were also scared. The baby (and wedding) talk was something that has been avoided through the entire relationship. Him being older, having a grown up daughter, being divorced⊠Did he want to do it all over again? The most likely answer was no. And this wouldâve put an end to your relationship cause you didnât imagine your life without kids. Weddings could be discussed.Â
So, you did the test. Set the alarm for a few minutes, and waited.Â
Negative.Â
You cried. Bawled, actually. If you put aside what could go wrong with this, you wanted a baby. A part of you hoped you were pregnant. You loved Manny with all your heart, you wanted to spend the rest of your life with him. You wanted to carry his child.Â
You donât remember how long you stayed in the bathroom crying. But it was long enough for Manny to come in, find you in there and ask what was wrong, as he held you close to his chest.Â
âI thought I was pregnant and we were gonna have a babyâ You admitted through the tears, pointing at the test sitting on the sink.Â
Manny didnât react immediately. Your face was still hiding in his neck, so you couldnât see his face. He stayed silent for a long time, just holding you, kissing the top of your head. But you could hear his heart beating faster. Was this a good sign?
âWhy didnât you tell me?â He whispered.
âWe never talked about this. I didnât know how youâd react. I still donât, actually.â
He stayed silent again. So, you had to ask.Â
âAre you sad or relieved that Iâm not pregnant, Manny?â
âI donât know.â He continued to hold you but the long silence afterwards broke your heart more than those words did.Â
That led to the worst weeks ever. You had the baby talk, and Manny admitted that he didnât know if he wanted another child or not. âIâm old enough to be a grandpa.â He kept repeating. Technically, that was true. But you never cared about his age. You would try to kiss him and playfully joke that heâd be a sexy young grandpa but deep down you could see the doubt in his mind growing more and more as he became increasingly distant.
He cared about your age.
Eventually, the answer was no. He didnât want any more kids. He didnât want to get married again. And you didnât see your life without kids. There was no compromise possible. So, you broke up. Your heart shattered and your bed always felt cold now without him there every night.
The rough part of this breakup was having to hide how broken-hearted you were. No one knew, and there was no point to them knowing now. You had to pretend. And so had Manny. Everytime you ran into him, you stared at each other like two lost puppies. It was surprising that no one noticed. You were not okay, and neither was he.Â
Whenever you saw him at Smokeyâs, having a drink - by himself or with someone - you approached him softly, touching his arm or shoulder if he was seated. âHow many?â Youâd gently asked. His past struggle with alcohol worried you.Â
âNot many, donât worry, cariño.â Heâd smiled. You believed him.
At some point, pretending was just too much, so you found an arrangement with your job to work remotely and left Edgewater to visit family many miles away. You stayed there for several weeks. You needed to cut it off to get over Manny. Not that you actually believed that you could.Â
When you came back to town, you gave a heads up to Vince and Sharon only. And of course, they immediately invited you over for dinner. You were only slightly better, and had started accepting the breakup. Avoiding Manny a little more should help.Â
That was until you saw him at the Leone's house. In his Cal Fire comfy clothes, sitting on the couch with Vince as they watched some sports. Did they invite him too?
Vince immediately jumped off the couch to hug you, your feet no longer touching the floor. âI missed you sweetie.â He kissed your forehead.Â
âI missed you too, Vince.â
Manny hadnât moved from the couch, clearly as shocked as you by the encounter. You slowly approached him as he stood up, and hugged each other awkwardly. He looked like he hasnât slept in weeks, maybe dropped a few pounds too. His scent immediately intoxicated you. Could this hug last forever?Â
âManny is staying with us, so heâll join us for dinner.â
Staying with them? You clearly missed something while you were gone.Â
While Vince helped Sharon in the kitchen, you and Manny sat down on the couch. âWhy are you staying with them?â You asked.Â
âItâsââ he cleared his throat. âA long story. Donât worry about it. How was your vacation?â
âIt wasnât a vacaâ donât change the subject, Manny. Whatâs going on?â
The Leones came back with some drinks, to Mannyâs relief. But you were not giving up.Â
It was hard to focus on the Leones and what they were saying, no matter how interesting, or intriguing it was. You couldnât take your eyes and mind off Manny, who stayed pretty silent the entire evening. When there was a moment of silence during dinner, you lost control of your own mouth.Â
âYouâre catching me up with everything that happened in town, except for the most evident thing.â You stared at Manny. âIs there a big secret youâre all keeping from me that Iâm not supposed to know about?â
Vince and Sharon looked at each other before looking at Manny. Clearly, it was his decision to explain or keep it a secret.Â
âItâs not like nobody knows,â Sharon said.Â
âItâs also not that easy to admit what a screw up I am, especially toââ Manny let go of his fork and stood up, âExcuse me.â You all watched him as he left the house.Â
You didnât think for too long before standing up too and following him outside. He was sitting in his car, engine on. You opened the passenger door and joined him inside.
âGoing somewhere?â
He huffed. âLike I have somewhere else to go.â
âMy place?â You offered.
âWe broke up.â
âDoesnât make us strangers, does it?â
He leaned his forehead against the steering wheel, so you moved on the edge of your seat to get closer, and ran your hand through his messy hair. He only tilted his head to the side to take a look at you. âTalk to me, amor.â you whispered.
âI handled our break up poorly,â the volume of his voice met yours. âI didnât handle it at all, actually.â his eyes started to fill with tears. âAt first, I just wanted to take my mind off thingsâ off you. It was to be one night, one game. But I won, and wanted to win more. And it was sorta working, you know? As I was playing, I wasnât focusing on you, on us, on how unfair this is.â A single tear started to roll down his cheeks. âIâve lost everything. My money, Gabrielaâs money, my house, my insurance. And on top of that, I donât have you anymore either.â He sat back properly on his seat, taking a few deep breaths. âIâm a fucking mess.â
You held his hand for a brief moment, before pulling on it so he would get closer. His face rested on your chest, he was trying really hard not to cry too much. On the other hand, tears were rolling down your cheeks.Â
âIt doesnât matter what our relationship is, youâll always have me, Manny. Through it all.â You kiss the top of his head, âIâll help you get back on your feet.â
He immediately sat back up, like we triggered him. âIâm not taking money from you. I already owe 10,000 bucks to Vince.â
âFine, but thatâs not what I was talking about. Are you getting professional help?â
âNot yet, Iââ
âThen you will. If staying with Vince and Sharon suits you, then stay there. Otherwise, you know my door is open. Howâs your relationship with Gabs?â
âStop it. This is not up to you to fix me. Iâm a grown man, I can do this by myself.â
âIt wouldnât have happened if we hadnât broken up.â
âWe wouldnât have broken up, if I agreed to have kids.â
âBut you donât and thatâs okay. I get it.â
âGood, cause I donât. What if Iâm missing my second chance in life? What ifââ he looked straight into your eyes, âIâm missing my one true chance at happiness?â
Manny Perez went through so many bad things over the years. Being a quite young dad, prison, money issues, rocky relationship with Gabrielaâs mother leading to a bad divorce, alcoholism and now the break up and gambling. This man is one of the best humans youâve ever met, but life keeps throwing curve balls at him. He deserves the world, and all you want is to give it to him.Â
You didnât have any words at this very moment. All you wanted was to hold him, kiss him and never let go. So that was exactly what you did. You moved as close as possible to him, grabbed him by his neck and planted your lips on his. You were both needy, like two junkies getting their fix. While never stopping the kiss, you found yourself straddling his lap before you realized.Â
âTe quiero,â you whispered between kisses. It drives Manny crazy whenever you talk in Spanish to him.Â
âYo te quiero mas.âÂ
His hands were all over you, and yours all over him. Manny buried his face in your neck, kissing and sucking on your sensitive spot only he knows so well, earning a moan from you.Â
Neither of you saw nor heard Vince getting out of the house, until he knocked at the carâs window. You immediately jumped off Manny, trying to make yourself presentable. Manny tried to hide his growing erection the best he could before opening the window.Â
âItâs complicated, V.â you said, âDo you need something?â
âAt this very moment, answers. But I suppose Iâll have to wait. Are you sleeping here tonight, Cap, orâsomewhere else?â
You and Manny looked at each other for a moment.Â
âI have custody for the night.â You tried to joke.Â
âDonât feed him after midnight.â Vince bent over a little to kiss our forehead before leaving.Â
âDrive us home, Gizmo. We need to talk.â
âAlright, but drop the joke right now.â
He knew you better than that.
The ride was silent. Both in your own thoughts.Â
Manny didnât get out of the car when he pulled over at your place, but got him to follow you inside in the end. He had barely taken off his shoes, that your arms were around his middle, and you tiptoed to kiss his lips.Â
âThis is probably not a good idea, cariño.â He said, even though he intensified the kiss.Â
âI honestly donât care right now.âÂ
You walked backwards to your bedroom while still kissing each other, and Manny didnât fight for even a second. He gently laid you down on the bed, getting on top of you. It didnât take long until clothes were flying across the room. âI missed you.â He confessed, touching you everywhere he could. âWhy did you leave?â
âIt was too hard staying here, seeing you almost everyday. I had to get some distance, to process and accept.â
His strong naked body was covering yours. His hard cock was pressing against your wet pussy. His forehead against yours, his nose stroking yours, he softly asked, âAnd did you?â
âDoes it look like I did?â
He chuckled and you kissed his dimple. âI need you, Manny.â
âNeed you more.â On those words, he slowly entered you.Â
Sex with Manny has always been amazing since the first time. He was your perfect match, and you were his. You discovered several things with him, and you both tried new things together. And every single time was mind blowing. But that night wasnât about that. That night, he made love to you, like it was the last time ever. It felt both amazing and heartbreaking.Â
But it couldnât be the last time.Â
âMaybe I donât need kids to be happy.â You said as you were both lying down and cuddling. âMaybe I just need you.â
Manny didnât react immediately. You could hear he was taking deep breaths, probably trying to get a hold on his emotions. After several seconds, he rolled to the side and rested on his elbow. âNo.â He just said.Â
âNo?â You looked at him, confused.Â
âYou want kids. You want to be a mom. Iâve seen you with kids, Iâve seen you cry when the test came back negative.â
âBut the thing is I donât want kids with someone other than you.â Your tone was sharp, because you were getting angry. Why was he fighting on this? This was your decision.Â
âFor now.âÂ
âFor fuck sakeâs, Manny! I know what I want and donât want, okay? Iâd rather be with you, and not have kids, than be with someone else and have kids with them.âÂ
âYouâre sacrificing yourself.â
âIâm making a choice. Iâm choosing you.â
His voice broke. âWhy would you do that?â
âBecause I love you, Manuel Perez.â You stroked his cheek, âSorry. Manuel Gizmo Perez.â
He laughed and kissed you.Â
~
Over the next weeks, Manny went to counseling with your support. For everyone - especially Gabriela -, he was still living with the Leones, but the reality was he spent all of his nights at your place, where he belonged. He still refused your money, but got a second job on a boat to help pay his debts. It didnât give him a lot of free time or even time to rest, so you tried to make it as easy as possible for him. You made sure he ate properly, slept the bare minimum, you even helped with Three Rock paperwork.Â
âSheâs my rock, Vince.â He admitted to his friend, as they were having a drink together. âSheâs been amazing to me and I canât evenâget her something. Invite her to a restaurant, a gate away or something.âÂ
âThatâll come, man. For now, all she needs is for you to be okay.âÂ
âI have to say Iâm surprised you didnât kick my ass when you found out. I know you love her like your own daughter.â
âI do. To be honest, Shar and I have been suspicious for a while, and we agree she canât find a better man than you. I mean, weâve met her exesââ he laughed and Manny joined.Â
âDoesn't the age differenceâshock you?â
âYouâre both grown adults. But can I say something you may not enjoy hearing?â
âGo ahead, Chief.â
âSheâs meant to be a mom.â
Vince didnât know how right he was. But you and Manny agreed you wouldnât tell anyone about the pregnancy before he told Gabriela.Â
âHow was lunch with Vince?â You asked as Manny came back home.Â
âNice. I got you those wings and spicy sauce youâve been craving.â He handed you the brown bag, and you got excited about eating the wings. âI still think itâs a bad idea for you to eat the sauce, amor. You canât stand spice.â
âClearly, the baby isnât aware of that.âÂ
Manny disappeared in the kitchen and came back with a big glass of milk. âJust in case.â
âThanks guapo.â
He sat next to you, you kissed him briefly before attacking your food.Â
âYou didnât tell him anything, did you?â
âWas hard not to, cause he brought it up. But I want to talk to Gabby first.â
âWhen are you planning to tell her?â You asked, with your mouth full.Â
âTonight. I told her Iâd stop by her place.â
The spices were hitting up. You were sticking out your tongue like a dog, and trying to create some air with your hands. Manny laughed and grabbed the milk for you. âTold you.â You started to drink some milk and your boyfriend got closer, leaning down to be right next to your stomach. âYou canât do this to your mama, baby. But clearly, youâre a Latino.âÂ
âHe or she is a Perez.â You said between sips.
âMaybe mama should be a Perez too.â He said with a huge grin on his face.Â
Howâs everyone doing? I donât know exactly how long itâs been, but a lot happened. Iâve been considering coming back for a little while now. But Iâd take it easy.
I havenât made up my mind yet. I kinda want to start fresh, but I donât want to get rid of this blog, which gave me so much over the years. Especially my soulmate @toheavenwmydrms. â€ïž
Still in the NCIS fandom (Gary Cole stan here), I actually binge watched NCIS LA.
I completely gave up SVU (sorry not sorry). But Rafael Barba forever.
Fire Country is my new favorite show (Vince Leone and Manny Perez, my beloved) (Why isnât there any fanfics of this show on here? Should I correct that?).
And Iâve fallen deep in the Pedro Pascal rabbit hole.
I suppose the reactions to this post could help me make a decision.
I donât know if thatâs Gary actually playing the guitar but thatâs clearly his voice. Anyway, just a little treat, cause thatâs very pretty to see.
Gary Cole as Jack, in The Wedding Band S01E06 âWe are familyâ
Iâm sorry Iâve been MIA for a long time⊠life caught up, work, family, mental health⊠I donât really have time to write or come on here⊠I do miss it honestly, I miss writing and Iâm sorry I just stopped posting. Maybe Iâll be able to post a thing or two here and there but Iâm not making any promisesâŠ
I hope youâre all doing alright! I didnât forget about you guys or this blog. Take care!

Hellooo! Bonjour :) Iâm so happy to find another writer who writes for Alden Parker, because heâs my new favourite Federal Agent in the crime procedurals I watch. Love your stories! đIs it possible to request a SFW fluff story with Alden? Maybe with another agent on the team, where they both love food and try to challenge each other to find the âbest meal/pastry of the week?â âșïž
Hey love! đ«¶đ» So happy to have someone else whoâs favorite is now our lil man Alden đ„° Heâs just perfect, isnât he? â€ïž I hope youâll enjoy!!
Pastries, meals and dates
When Alden Parker brought pastries on his first day on the job, you knew it would work out really well with him. It surprised him when you knew what the pastries were, and where they were coming from. Finding new pastries, making his coworkers discover them was his hidden talent, it was something he was known for in the FBI and he wanted it to be the same at NCIS. But this wouldnât work with you; he wouldnât be able to surprise you with those.
Instead, you were the one that surprised him the next day by bringing pastries too. âLetâs see which ones the team likes better.â You grinned at him, putting your white box next to his.
That day, the pastries you brought were gone before Aldenâs. âYouâre on,â he told you before leaving the office in the evening.
The following week, Alden brought new pastries he spent a long time looking for. The team loved it, it was completely gone before lunchtime. The next day, it was your turn to bring some, and the same thing happened. âSo, which ones were the most delicious?â You asked the team.
âSorry Y/N, but I have to go with Parkerâs,â Tim said.
âMe too.â Jessica added.
Alden was grinning at you, and you rolled your eyes. You focused on Nick, who chose yours. âWe have to ask Jimmy and Kasie.â You said, practically rushing to the elevator, Alden closed on your heels. In the silver box, the supervisory agent leaned against the wall and looked at you. âYouâre stealing my thing, youâre not playing fair, Agent L/N.â He smiled.
âAw, donât you have other things, Parker?â You mimicked him on the opposite wall.
âI have many things.â He smirked.
The doors opened, and Alden invited you to get out first.
Unfortunately, you lost that week.
This went on for weeks; you brought pastries one after the other, asked everyone to choose their favorites and counted points. Nobody complained, it was a silly game that allowed the team to eat free international pastries.
But eventually, you switched from pastries to meals, just between the two of you.
One day, Alden invited you for lunch to a nice Greek restaurant. You didnât ask if it was a date because you were afraid of the answer but it surely felt like one. Alden was a perfect gentleman; pulling the chair for you, asking if you wanted more, if the food was like you wanted it, paying at the end despite your arguments.
The next week, you invited him for dinner to a new restaurant youâve been dying to try. He insisted on paying again but he didnât win this time since you were the one who invited him.
âNow we donât have a team to decide between us.â He said as you were walking back to the car.
âNo, but we are both honest people. I was dying to try this restaurant but yours was better.â You confessed.
âI am happy to hear that, thank you for being honest.â
You were walking side by side and you felt his hand brushing yours a few times. You hoped he would grab it and intertwine his fingers with yours but he didnât. For a moment, you considered doing it yourself but you were too afraid of rejection. This would hurt your relationship youâre building with him and you loved it too much to take that risk.
You and Alden went to different restaurants for weeks, being honest about who found the best one. You loved every second you spent with him. The more you were with Alden, the more you were falling in love with him.
You hoped he would mention if those were dates, but he didnât. That word never left his mouth.
Jessica and Kasie kept telling you that he was smitten, completely in love with you but you couldnât believe them. You were afraid to believe them and be totally wrong. At least, until he said so himself or did something that meant it.
Itâs been over a month since you and Alden had been going out to restaurants, but this time it felt different. On the drive to the place he chose, he told you that the owner and chef was one of his friends. âItâs a regular restaurant, you probably went there already,â he told you.
âI thought the goal of this was to make the other discover new places and meals?â You asked, confused.
âYeah, but this one is different.â
âHow so?â
âBecause I want it to be a date, Y/N.â He took a quick look at you. âIf you want it too, of course.â
âWhy did it take you this long?â
âFear, I guess? I was scared to destroy what we were building,â
âThen what changed today?â
âNick, Tim and Jimmy had been annoying me for weeks. I canât take it anymore.â He chuckled.
âSame here with the girls.â You smiled.
âSoââ he slowly put his hand on your thigh, giving you the opportunity to ask him to stop if you wanted to. âWe couldâve done this weeks ago?â
âYup, apparently.â You admitted, putting your hand on top of his.
âWell, I donât regret it. This little game was great, even though I gained a few pounds.â
âYou look perfect, Agent Parker.â
âSo do you, Agent L/N.â
Now that you knew it was an official date, and after weeks of wait, you didnât want to wait anymore. When Alden opened the car door for you, you got down, and kissed him before he even could close it. He let go of the door in order to hold you against him, intensifying the kiss. Your arms wrapped around his neck, hands running through his smooth hair. His hands traveled in your back, and you kissed until you were out of breath. âCouldnât wait anymore.â You smiled.
âMe neither, but I was trying to be a gentleman.â He chuckled.
âAlden, we lost weeks already. Donât worry about that,â
âOkay then.â
He pinned you against the car and kissed you again.
I wonder how the ncis team would be if they became twlight saga vampires powers & all just a thought
That is something I never thought about but it is interesting!!
Like who would they be? Because the first thing that came to mind: Abby would be like Alice! Without a single doubt! They have the same kind of personality.
Gibbs would be a lonely vampire. As heâd struggle with good and bad (like Carlisle when his condition changed) heâd choose to stay away from everyone. Either humans or other vampires.
Tony wouldnât be a good kind. Heâd love to take advantage of his powers, his beauty to get women. Like his power would be to erase/reset some memory; heâd tell women who he truly is, has sex with women, drink their blood (as they are willing) and use his power to make them forget about him.
Ziva would chase the bad vampires or other horrible creatures. Her power: her strength. Vampires are strong but Ziva would be even stronger, like unbeatable!
McGee would struggle so bad with who he is. He wouldnât know how to deal with it, what to do. Heâll probably spend hundreds of years trying to find a way to be a human again. His power: seeing peopleâs memories.
Ducky would be the historian of the Vampires. One of the oldest, heâd know everything thereâs to know about them. Heâd have any particular power, but he can remember everything. He could tell you about something from hundreds years ago.
Jimmy, being a newbie, would try to fit anywhere he could. So, the first vampires he meet, heâd become like them. Be bad if they are bad, good if they are good. But his conscious would catch up with him if heâs around horrible vampires. So heâd leave and try to do what he think is right.
Bishop would be like a cat. You donât see her, hear her, smell her, nothing. Which she clearly uses at the advantage. She would be like her own justice, anytime she witnesses something bad or illegal, sheâd make those people pay (beating them, scaring themâŠ)
Torres and Knight would be a team (not a couple). They would travel the world, looking for fame, and money. Not caring if humans discover who they are.
Parker would have a tribe. Not humans he transformed but vampires already, and he would make sure they become one of the good ones like him. Because he canât stand the horrible things vampires do, it makes him sick and he wants to do something about it.
Okay but your writing for Parker? Pure fucking art. I havenât watched this season yet but I already love him just because of how you write him
well, my dear anon, you have no idea what reading this means to me!!! this is one of best compliments I could receive <33 like seriously!! :')
i totally encourage you to watch this season, just for him! he's one of the best characters in crime shows, he actually became my absolute fav <3 you'll just love him even more, i promise!!
meanwhile, here's a little treat: baby Parker :) <3
I have a request, Iâd love to read one of Alden having a sweet young pregnant girlfriend but the team doesnât know cuz it just never comes up at work till sheâs a witness to a crime. He becomes very protective of her and he doesnât want her out of his sight till the case is over & the team gets protective of her too. I feel like he would cheer her up by getting her favorite pastries & sheâd love to playfully call him daddy which would get him excited đ
this is pure fluff! <3 enjoy my love, i had much fun writing it! <3
words count: 4,1k
Baby Parker
Ever since you found out about your pregnancy, you have become a compulsive buyer of baby stuff; furniture for the nursery, toys and most importantly, baby clothes. You had a full wardrobe ready for the baby before you even knew the sex of your little one. Your partner, Alden Parker, was amazed every time he came home and saw what new things you bought. Most evenings, he sat there while you showed him everything.
It got worse when the OBGYN told you you were having a baby boy. The first thing you bought was a tiny gray suit; similar to your baby daddyâs. Your favorite of his. Alden almost cried from happiness, just like every time he noticed your baby bump growing. Or like that night when the baby kicked for the first time.Â
You were cuddling on the couch, watching the show you and Alden had been binging. He had an arm wrapped around your shoulders and his other hand resting on your belly when it happened.
Your body jerked lightly from the surprise and you let out a small âOw!â. Alden sat straight up, pure wonder on his face. âWas it?â he asked.
âHis first kick!â You laughed and cried at the same time.Â
âMy god!â Alden had tears in his eyes too, and he put both hands on your belly, waiting for another kick. âHey baby boy, â how does it feel?â he looked at you.Â
âWonderfully weird.âÂ
A new kick.
You and Alden looked at each other, completely amazed. It was perfect. âI canât wait to meet him.â Your boyfriend said, a tear falling down his cheek.
The baby kicked again, like he was responding to his fatherâs voice. You ran your hand into his hair, âTalk again, daddy.â you invited him.
Alden settled down, his face close to your baby bump. âBaby boy, itâs daddy. Four months til we get to meet you!â Another little kick, Alden grinned at you and you returned it, still crying from happiness.
âMama is crying from happiness and so am I,â It was exactly a kick this time, but the baby still moved. âYouâre real, our tiny human.âÂ
You spent the rest of the evening watching the man you love talking to your unborn son, and feeling him moving and kicking inside you. This was one of the happiest moments in your life and you knew there was more to come.Â
When you tried to sleep, your boy wasnât calming down. âHyperactive already?â Alden joked, âHe really is half you.â he kissed you before settling between you under the sheets. His hand rested on your belly, stroking small circles with his fingers. Slowly, the baby stopped moving around, allowing you to fall asleep.Â
A few weeks later, you enjoyed your lunchtime to go out and shop. You went to your favorite baby store. You tried to control yourself and not buy too many clothes for your little guy - only because Alden told you the baby probably wouldnât wear half of the things you were buying. You were proud of yourself because you only bought a couple of things. You texted your boyfriend on your way back to the office but stopped when you were two people fighting a few feet away from you.Â
You looked up from your phone, just in time to see one of the men pulling out a gun and shooting the other. Before you could react, the shooter was running away and got inside a car. It was probably all the stories that Alden told you that made you take a picture of the car before it was gone. It was blurry as you were shaking, but they probably would be able to get something out of it, right?Â
Everything happened so fast. Some people were checking on the man that had been shot, and 911 had been called. You stayed there but didnât approach, as you felt your baby moving a lot around. You should probably sit⊠but you knew you had to wait for the police to get there.Â
You told what you saw a few times, showed them the picture you took and one of the cops had the guts to insinuate that you took the picture because you were in on it. Luckily, his partner knew it was nonsense. You were getting tired, thirsty and hungry. Your little boy kept moving and kicking, like he was reacting to the horrible thing you just witnessed. You asked a few times if you were free to go but the cops asked you to stay more.
âThere are a few witnesses, bright day light murder, that was risky.â McGee said to the team.
âHave you talked to any of them yet?â Parker asked him.
âNo, but Iâm gonna start with the pregnant lady. Sheâs been here for over an hour, she must be exhausted.âÂ
Alden followed to where McGee was looking and his jaw dropped. The pregnant lady wasnât just any lady. It was his lady. His woman carrying his child. Concern and worry appeared on his face and he immediately started running towards you. The team watched their boss running almost like a man to one of the witnesses and then they looked at each other. âWho is that?â Jessica asked as they saw Alden hugging you.
âA witness, her name is Y/N Y/L/N.â
âFamily member? A niece maybe?â
On the other side, all your discomfort disappeared when you saw the man you love running to you. You stood up from the bench you had been sitting on for over an hour, and welcomed him into your arms. Alden hugged you tight and put his hands on your belly, âAre you two okay?â He asked, clearly worried. âHow are you feeling, sweetheart? How long have you been on that bench?â
âAn hour, maybe more. Weâre fine,â you stroked his cheek, âYour little guy keeps moving though,âÂ
His hands didnât leave you or your belly. âIâm sorry you witnessed thatââ he kissed your forehead.Â
âWrong place, wrong time,âÂ
âDo you have some water in your bag? Something to eat? Iâm gonna get you back to the headquarters so you can rest and tell me everything, okay?âÂ
You nodded to what he said last, and followed him. He helped you walk, like you were sick or injured but you didnât mind at all. You loved how attentive he was being, plus all you wanted at this moment was to lay down for a nap.Â
You and Alden approached his team who was still investigating the crime scene. âIs everything okay, Parker?â One man, who you assumed was Tim McGee, asked.
âYes but no. I need to have a word with those assholes who canât take care of a pregnant woman correctly!â His voice raised, surprising those who worked with him but not you. You knew how overprotective he could be, especially since you were pregnant.Â
âDen, it doesnât matter.â you told him, âLetâs just go?â
âIt matters to me. What kind of people let a six months pregnant woman wait on a fucking bench for an hour, without even checking on her?â He saw one of the cops who welcomed the team earlier and called him out. âCan you answer that, uh? Couldnât you offer her some water? Food? Or offer her to wait in the car, which is more comfortable than a bench? I hope a pregnant woman would never have to count on you!âÂ
âAlden, youâre overreacting.â you grabbed his face in your hands, forcing him to look in your eyes. âIâm fine, we are fine.â you pressed your lips against his, not caring that a few people were watching. Alden took a deep breath to regain control of himself. He pressed his hand on your baby bump, feeling his little boy kicking. âEven your son is telling you to calm down.â you smiled. âTake me to your office, daddy.â You grinned. You love calling him that since you found out about your pregnancy.Â
Alden told his team to finish here while he took you to his car. He grabbed a bottle of water and a protein bar in his bag and gave them to you. You gladly drank but you werenât hungry. âEat please,â he told you, driving towards the NCIS headquarters. âFor him.â he placed his hand on your belly. How could you resist?
âThe look on your teamâs faces was amazing,â you giggled. âYouâre gonna go through a real interrogation.âÂ
âAnd I will tell them everything they want to know.âÂ
At the crime scene, the team stared at the car going away. âDefinitely not a niece,â Jimmy said.Â
âDid any of you know?â Jessica asked.Â
âThat he had a pregnant girlfriend about half his age? Nope.â McGee smiled.Â
âShe is pretty and glowing,â The female agent said.
âPregnancy tends to do that,â Jimmy told her.Â
Even though you kept saying that you were fine, Alden practically carried you to his desk and settled you in his desk chair. He got you more water, and asked if you wanted something else to eat. âAlden Parker, stop it. Iâm okay, and so is our boy.âÂ
âPromise?â
âYes!â you giggled. âNow, I need to show you something.âÂ
You took your phone from your bag and showed him the blurry picture you took. âThatâs the car the shooter left in. I know itâs blurry butââ
âIâm gonna get this to Kasie, sheâll get something out of it. Itâs amazing, honey. Great thinking,âÂ
âLuckily, I was texting you when it happened so I had my phone in my hands.â
âDo you wanna meet Kasie?â
âIâd love to!â
Alden extended his hand to you, but you stood up without taking it. He sighed and showed you the way to the elevator. Inside the little box, he grabbed your face in his hands and kissed you passionately. âI wish it was under different circumstances, but Iâm glad the team finally knows.âÂ
âMe too, baby.â you kissed him a little more until the lift was over.Â
Intertwining his fingers with yours, he took you to Kasieâs lab. âAlready backâoh hi!âÂ
âHey Kas,â he greeted her, âThis is Y/N, a witness who took a very useful picture, and also my girlfriend.â He put his hand on your belly once again, âand this is our baby boy.â
âThat isâa lot of information,â she laughed, âI had no idea,â she extended her hand to you, âVery nice to meet you, Y/N. And when are we going to meet this little one?â
âThree months.â you shook her hand.Â
Alden gave your phone to Kasie so she could transfer the picture to her computer. Before giving it back to you, she saw your lock screen; you smiling at the camera while Alden kissed your cheek. âI have to ask, why the hell did you hide this from us?â she asked your man, gently slapping his arm.Â
âForce of habits.â he said. âPlus Iâm glad you know now.â he wrapped his arm around your shoulder, holding you close to him.Â
âSo much love in my lab, itâs very unusual,âÂ
âCan I leave her with you for about ten minutes?â he asked Kasie but looked at you before she could even answered, âThere are armchairs in the back where you can rest,â
âWhere are you going?âÂ
âYouâll see in ten minutes.âÂ
Alden kissed you before leaving the lab. He didnât feel comfortable leaving you after you witnessed a murder but he wanted to do something for you; getting some pastries and your favorite tea. After this, he wouldnât let you out of his sight. He didnât know much about the crime yet, but you were a witness and from what you told him, it was possible that the murderer saw you. Luckily, he knew you couldnât be more safe than at the NCIS office.Â
âAre you okay?â Kasie asked you as you were settled in one of the chairs.
âYes, and I donât need to lay down but if I donât, Den is going to freak out.â
ââDenâ?â she smiled.
âYeah, sorry. His little name,â you giggled.
âThatâs sweet. You have a great partner,âÂ
âWouldnât be having a baby with him if he wasnât,â you smiled, rubbing your baby bump.Â
âIs he moving?â
âYes. Do you wanna touch it?â
âCan I?â she sat next to you. âI never knew anyone who was pregnant, so I neverââ
You took her hand in yours and put it on your belly, exactly where your boy was moving. Kasie grinned with wonder, âItâs crazy. Must feel weird, right?â
âAt first, yeah. But now, itâs just amazing. I love feeling him moving,â
âThe team is gonna have a little mascot,âÂ
You laughed and felt him give a frank kick, âBaby Parker will love that apparently.â
Exactly ten minutes later, Alden came back with a white box in one hand and drinks in the other. âAre you serious, Parker?âÂ
âVery.â he smiled. âGot you a little something too, Kas.â
âOn one hand, Iâm trying to be careful about what I eat and on the other, this guy keeps feeding me with pastries.â
âWell, if I ever dated a man, Iâd love for him to be like you, Alden.â
âYes, like him. Because this one is taken.â you playfully winked at her, taking a bit in your pastry.Â
âThank god, by you. For a moment, we thought he was dating the weirdo from the second floor.â
Alden shot a glare at Kasie, who understood she spoke too fast. âWhat weirdo?â you asked, looking between both of them. âAlden Richard Parker!â
âSorry,â Kasie took her tea and pastry and went back to her computers.Â
âThanks for throwing me under the bus!â he called out and looked back at you.Â
âIâm waiting.â
âItâs nothing. Just this woman that keeps hitting on me, but I made sure she knew I wasnât interested.â
âDid you now?â
He sat next to you. âYes and I havenât seen her in weeks. You trust me, right?â
âI trust you, but I donât trust women who hit on my man.âÂ
Alden chuckled and kissed your forehead, âI do love when youâre jealous.âÂ
âIs she pretty?â
âA bomb.â You punched him and he laughed more. âMaybe Iâll get her pregnant too.âÂ
âGive me your gun. Now.âÂ
Still laughing, he grabbed your face in his hands and kissed you. âI love you so much.â he moved down on his knees and kissed your belly, âAnd I love you too.â he said to his son, and of course, the baby kicked as a reaction.
âIâll get my revenge, Parker.â
âDonât care, not jealous.â He played with your son through your skin.
âSays the man who almost kicked my gay cousinâs ass because he was helping me choose clothes.âÂ
âYou were in your bra in front of a man I never saw before. Saw red,âÂ
âThat, you did.â you giggled, running your hands through his hair and then his beard.Â
âI hope I didnât cause any trouble.â Kasie came back, âThe team is back, Den.â she grinned.Â
Alden grabbed his phone and opened the Bandium app, sending a group text to the team. âUpdate in Kasieâs lab.â
A few minutes later, Nick, Tim, and Jessica walked in. Alden kissed your forehead and joined them upfront. âIs this Missus okay?â Nick asked.
âSheâs not the Missusâyet.â
âOh, is someone preparing a proposal?â Kasie teased.
âI am indeed, but letâs not talk about it here,â he looked in the back, making sure you didnât hear anything. âSo, tell me everything.âÂ
The team updated their supervisor on everything they collected at the crime scene, which wasnât much. Despite a few witnesses, there was no explicit description of the shooter. âEnter the future mama.â Kasie smiled, showing the picture on her screen. She was working on clearing it, as it was really blurry.
âShe was shaking when she took it.â Alden told them, âBut I guess it helps to date a cop,âÂ
âMaybe this case will be closed fast, thanks to your beautiful girlfriend you never told us about!â Jessica teased him.
âIâll tell you everything you want to know later, but for now, I wanna make sure there will be no repercussions on her so Iâm not leaving her side.â
âOverprotective, future dad Alden Parker.âÂ
âYou know what? Yes!â He admitted to his team, âIâm overprotective, jealous, probably annoying to her and very much in love. And when my son is born, Iâll bore you to death with pictures and stories about him!â he grinned, not noticing that you came out from the back of the lab. You hugged him from behind.Â
âDonât worry, we had McGee that did the same with his twins.âÂ
âHey!â
âYouâve got a job to do, Alden. You canât stay by my side.âÂ
âWatch me.â
âHelp, guys?â
âIf she stays down here, sheâs with Kasie.â Jessica offered.
âI can even lock the doors, if it makes you feel better.â
Alden sighed. His team was siding with you and he didnât like that. You witnessed a murder, and maybe he was overreacting by thinking you may be in danger, but he was taking any risk with you and the baby. Never. He had no common sense when it came to you, he knew it from the beginning, before you even got together.
âAlden, Iâll watch over her like sheâs the apple of my eye.âÂ
He looked at your smile, knowing he couldnât say no to you. âYou rest, you eat, you stay hydrate, and if thereâs anythingââ
âTake him out while you can,â you pushed him towards his team and Jessica was the one to grab his arm.
âDonât pop that kid out now.â Nick joked before closing the door behind them.Â
âYour baby daddy makes me think I may be mistaken about white men.â Kasie told you and you never felt more proud. And according to his kick, so was your son.Â
You stayed with Kasie for an hour, watching her going through the evidence while answering your boyfriendâs texts. You talked a lot, getting to know each other. She asked why you and Alden werenât married yet, and you admitted that you wanted to marry him and he always told you he didnât want to do it again because of his catastrophic first experience. Then she asked if you had a baby shower planned and you admitted that most of your friends and family turned their back to you because you were dating an older man.Â
Kasie was already planning a surprise baby shower for you.
Alden came back and acted like he hadnât seen you in weeks. He made sure you and the baby were okay, once again. He had the baby storeâs bag in his hand and gave it to you. âWanna show me what you bought?âÂ
Smiling, you got the clothes out of the bag. It was a baby scarf, a little flanel, some jeans and black vans sneakers. âOh my god, these are the cutest things ever!â Kasie exclaimed despite herself. You and Alden laughed, and you handed the clothes to her. âIs he going to fit in this?â
âCrazy, right?â Alden smiled, looking at the baby shoes in his hands.Â
âI canât believe that soon, the tiny human growing inside you will be in those.â Kasie was amazed and you were close to sob. You missed having a friend to share that with, a friend would be excited to meet your baby boy. Alden noticed the tears in your eyes and held you against his chest. He didnât have to ask what was going on.Â
âTrust me, Kas, when itâs the woman you love carrying your baby, itâs justâindescribable.âÂ
Kasie saw many couples in her life, but never had she witnessed two people that much in love with each other. âYouâre not crying because of me, sweetie, right?â
âHormones,â you said, which wasnât a complete lie.
Alden kept holding you, stroking your back and hair, until you stopped crying.Â
Eventually, they had to talk about the case. Kasie managed to clear the picture you took, but unfortunately, the car was stolen a few days prior, so it wasnât helping much. You felt bad for them. âYouâre coming back to the bullpen with me?â he asked and you could see that he didnât want to be away from you. You agreed, kissed Kasieâs cheek and followed the man you loved.Â
In the elevator, he hugged you as tight as possible. âIâm sorry,â he whispered.
âItâs not your fault. They arenât real friends if they turn their backs so easily, right?â
âExactly. You have real friends here. A new family even.â
âGonna need to know more about Kasie, but I feel like sheâll be a great godmother to our boy, donât you think?â
âThe best.â
The team had to meet people for their case, get information, but Alden refused to leave the office. He sent his team who completely understood and you stayed at his desk, next to him. He was working while keeping a hand on your belly. Your son kicked every now and then, and Alden answered by softly pressing on your skin with his fingers. It was like they had their own code to communicate and you loved to witness it. âIâm not in danger, right?â
âNo, sweetheart.â he kissed you. âIâm overreacting, Iâm sorry.âÂ
âNot the first time, wonât be the last,â you touched his eyebrow, looking at him lovingly. âI love how protective you are.âÂ
âEven if itâs too much, sometimes?â
âEven that,â you kissed him but got stopped by someone clearing their throat.Â
âJoanna, hi.â Alden greeted the woman standing in front of his desk.
âAlden.â she said, before looking at you up and down. Her eyes stopped on your baby bump. It didnât take you long to understand who she was.Â
âJoanna, this is my partner, Y/N. Honey, this is Joanna, a coworker.â
Grinning, you extended your hand to her but she didnât take it. âCan I talk to youâprivately?â
âNo, whatâs going on?â
âAre you sure you want your partner to hear?â
âPartner and mother of his child,â you corrected.
âDid you know that the father of your child likes to flirt with other women?â
âI never flirted with you, Joanna.â
âSure you didnât,â
âLove, can you take me to the bathroom? Iâm not feeling greatââ
Completely blocking Joanna, Aldenâs face turned pale as he helped you stand up and took you to the bathroom. He kept asking you what was wrong, if he needed to call 911 or your OBGYN. It was only when you were in the bathroom that you smiled and kissed him. âIâm perfectly fine.â you told him. âBut this woman wasnât going to leave us alone.â
âY/N, damnit! You canât do that to me, my heart is racing as hell!â you pressed your hand against his chest and realized that he wasnât lying.Â
âIâm sorry, babe. Weâre fine.âÂ
Alden pressed his forehead against yours, holding your face in his hands, âI never flirted with her.â he told you.
âI know, Den. Itâs always the same problem with you; youâre too nice with everybody and women tend to take it for flirting and interest.âÂ
âIâll try to be an ass from now on.âÂ
You laughed, âYou couldnât even if you tried.â He softly kissed you.
âGonna call the team and see if itâs okay if I call it a day.âÂ
âAldenâŠâ
âShh,â
For the team, it was okay. Alden could take you home for the rest of the day. They were handling it, and this case didnât seem like a hard one.Â
Once at your place, you put the clothes in the wardrobe. There were too many clothes for just one baby, especially considering how fast heâs going to grow. âDonât worry,â Alden said, hugging you and your bump from behind. âThe ones he doesnât have the opportunity to wear, our next baby boy will.âÂ
You laughed, âLet me give birth to this one before thinking about another one.â
âAnd another one, and another and another,â he kissed your neck.
âDo you want me to give birth to a team, daddy?â
âYes. The DC Parkers.â
You turned around to face him, âI love you so much.â
âI love you more.â
It was only the next morning that you learned Alden sent an email to his director to inform him he would be working from home. He asked you to do the same for your work and you stayed at home for a couple of days.Â
It was only when his team told him that you were in no danger that he managed to leave you out of his sight.
