Hi 👋
I'm open to requests. List non exhaustive. Also, I'm a sucker for old men and I'm (not) sorry.
NCIS:
Alden Parker
Leroy Jethro Gibbs
Eventually, Tobias Fornell
Fire Country:
Vince Leone (sorry Sharon)
Manny Perez
Luke Leone
I'll consider requests for any RaĂșl Esparza's characters too.
I love(d) writing for Joel Miller from The Last of Us, but since the series came out, there's so much more writers for the show, and I feel insecure about my writing, so...
Same thing for Aaron Hotchner, from Criminal Minds.
As a reminder, @navalcriminalimagines is me. I just wanted a fresh start.

Doubts ~ Alden Parker 1/2
Summary: Alden Parker reconnects with his first love and it gets him all confused  Pairing: Alden Parker x Fem!Reader Words count: 5k Warnings: age gap relationship Part 2 coming soon!
You didn’t want a big wedding, and neither did your fiancĂ© Alden Parker. Both you and Alden had been married already. His, to Vivian, had been a huge deal; he let her and his mom take care of it, and it ended with a big ass wedding. You, on the other hand, eloped when you were pretty young.
Alden didn’t imagine he’d get married again. But he also never imagined he’d meet someone like you. Someone who makes him the happiest he’s ever been, someone who makes his life easier, someone who loves him unconditionally. He didn’t even plan the proposal. One day, he cheated death at work and all he could think of was you. All the things he wanted to tell you, everything he wanted to do with you, how he didn’t want to die just for the sole purpose to see your pretty face everyday. So, when he came home that day, he asked you to marry him.
You said yes. Alden knew you would, because you never hid the fact that you would like to someday. Your first marriage was a spur of the moment decision that didn’t last. In your mind, it barely felt like a marriage. And you wanted another try.
Especially with this man.
Not wanting a big wedding didn’t mean you’d elope, or wouldn’t prepare something.
You had found a small but beautiful venue already, there were less than fifty people invited - mostly family members and closest friends. No need to invite people you never see, right? The next decision was the caterer. You planned a meeting, making it at the most likely hour Alden would be free. You texted your fiancĂ© to remind him about it. His answer was, ‘Why do you think I skipped lunch?’
You didn’t hear about him again though. At the meeting, you asked the caterer to wait just a little, saying that your fiancĂ© should be here soon. After thirty minutes and unanswered texts, you decided to call Alden. Luckily, he picked up.
“Alden, where are you? We’ve been waiting for you for thirty minutes!”
“I’m sorry baby, we got called on a case. I’m outside of town, I won’t be able to make it. I’m truly sorry, can we reschedule?”
“I don’t know. I’ll see, but couldn’t you have given me a heads up earlier?”
“I should’ve, you’re right. Please forgive me, honey.”
“You know I can never stay mad at you, but don’t do it again, please. Do I still try their food?”
“Yes! Do like a pre-selection, and we’ll both come back for the final decision. That works?”
“I guess. How bad is your case?”
“It’s more—weird than bad. I’ll explain to you when I get home.”
“Alright, be safe Special Alden.”
He chuckled at this nickname you’ve been giving him for a while now. He loves it. “I love you, princess. I’m sorry, again.”
“I know, love you too.”
As said, you made a pre-selection on food and cake. The caterer was very nice and offered to take some samples home for Alden to try. Your fiancĂ©, on the other hand, was having a bad idea after finding out that his identity had been stolen and it involved a murder. It was late when he showed up at Kasie’s lab, hoping she found out who stole his name, and everything that comes with it.
“Give me some good news, Kas. Please!”
“I wish, but I don’t have a name yet. What I can tell you is that whoever it is, they know a lot about you and you need to change all of your passwords.”
“Yeah, I worked on the most important things already and I’ll do the rest once I get home.”
Kasie grinned while Alden looked at her, confused. She tapped on her keyboard and a picture showed up on her screen. A picture of you and Alden.
“Home to your fiancĂ©?”
Alden chuckled and stared at the picture. It was a selfie you took during birdwatching. You were both bundled up because it was during winter. Alden was wearing your beanie he’s been refusing to give back, his arm is around your shoulders and he’s kissing your cheek while you’re smiling at the camera.
“Do the others know?”
“Not yet. But why are you hiding her from us?”
“Kasie, come on. Don’t tell me that when you saw the picture, you didn’t think that I was too old for her.”
“I honestly didn’t. I mean, do I see the age difference? Yes. But it doesn’t shock me or anything. You two look super cute together!”
“All on her. But don’t worry, y’all have seats at our wedding, I’m just waiting for the right time to bring it up.”
“I can’t wait! Congratulations,” Kasie goes in for a hug, Alden freezes, as he’s not used to that kind of attention at work, for just a second before returning the embrace.
“Thank you, Kas. Does she need to change all her passwords and everything?”
“Doesn’t look like they were interested in her, but better be safe than sorry.”
“Alright. I’m gonna get home to my girl and explain to her why I missed the caterer appointment.”
And he did just that. When he got home, he found you in the greenhouse, curled up on the couch with a book, and some music playing. “Evening my love,” you greeted him with a soft smile and he immediately crashed on the couch with you, his head finding its way on your lap. You put your book down, and started playing with his hair. “Tell me.”
“Well, we had a murder victim in a cheap motel, and the room was rented—by me.”
“Huh?”
“Yeah, I got my identity stolen.” He rose up from your lap, kissing you softly. “Spent the rest of my day resetting pretty much everything. You can cut the credit card you have from my bank account, my phone password is now the six first digits of your social, and you probably should change all your passwords too, just in case.” He kissed you again, “so yeah, that was my day.”
“I’m so sorry, baby. Do you know who did this?” It was so insane you couldn’t figure out what to say more.
“Not yet, but I will. How did the appointment go?”
“Wait right here”
You stood and went to get all the food in the kitchen. You settled everything on the coffee table in the greenhouse, separated in three groups: fav, need something different, not your thing. You offered Alden to dig in while he told you more about his awful day. And he had a lot to say, because he was infuriated.
“How could this happen? I protect everything, use probably more safety softwares than anyone,”
“Tell me about it.” You rolled your eyes, and it earned the reaction you were hoping for as he playfully threw his napkin to you. Ever since you’ve been dating Alden, you learned more about technology than you’d ever cared for. He scolded you more times than you could count because you’re not being safe enough online.
“I just don’t understand. Who and why? And how is it related to our murder case? By the way, this is good!”
“Salmon toast.” You informed him. “And I know you’ll answer those questions very quickly. I just hope you’re not in danger.”
“No, princess, don’t worry. Can we move on to the cakes now?”
You went to the kitchen again to get the two cake samples you came home with. “I’ll let you figure out which one is my fav.” You put the pieces in front of him, and kissed him. You’re barely back on the couch that he’s pointing at one of them.
“That’s your fav.”
You sighed and giggled. “We don’t have any secrets left from each other, do we?”
He grabbed your fav, and started tasting it. “By the way, did he make you pay for taking all of this home?”
“Um, no. I suppose it’ll be on the check after the wedding.”
He fed you some cake.
“But what if we don’t choose him?”
“I don’t know. Maybe it was a commercial gesture. So, what do you think?”
“I think he was hitting on you.”
You laughed at that.
“Den. I was there for our wedding. That’d be bold of him.”
“Doesn’t stop some men, nor brides. And he saw that your fiancĂ© stood you up. I’m sure he was very comforting about that.”
“Actually, he—was. But he didn’t hit on me!”
“Sure, princess. Sure.” He put the plate down and grabbed the other piece of cake. The man can eat, especially when it’s something sweet.
“Alden, I’m serious!” You’re uncontrollably giggling. He wasn’t upset or anything. People hitting on you or flirting with you has been a part of his life, even when he’s right there. But he trusts you with all his heart. Whether that guy was hitting on you, whether he was a hot dude or not, Alden knew you only saw the caterer in him. And that’s something that makes him love you even more.
“Then, tell me he didn’t give you his phone number.”
“His phone number is his business number, I already had it. HA.”
He chuckled with his mouth full, seeing how proud you were to prove him wrong.
“Okay, point for you. I guess we’ll see at the next appointment.”
“If you show up.”
“Hey, that’s very uncalled for!”
“Yeah well, you deserved it.” You kissed his cheek briefly but Alden had other plans. He put the second plate down before grabbing you by the waist to bring you onto his lap. He held your face, stroking your cheeks with his thumb, “How did I get this lucky?” He whispered before leaning in for a kiss that you happily and eagerly welcomed.
It quickly turned into a make out session that just as quickly turned into passionate sex in the greenhouse. Once you both caught your breath and found your strength back, Alden carried you to the bathroom where you showered together.
Alden always wakes up earlier than you, but the next day, he woke up extremely early. This identity thief thing is driving him crazy and he needs to figure it out the fastest possible. He tried to get ready as quietly as possible, not wanting to wake you up. He made himself a coffee that he drank quickly, left a note on the kitchen island, and went to give you a forehead kiss before leaving for the office. “Be safe, Special Alden.” you sleepily told him. He cursed under his breath for waking you up.
“Always. You’re stuck with me forever.”
“Who’s gonna bring the news to my boyfriend?”
“It’s 6am, you can’t joke at 6am while your eyes aren’t even open.”
“That’s my superpower.”
Eyes still closed, you found his collar and pulled him into you. His lips found yours.
“Baby, I gotta get to work.”
“It’s 6am, you said so!”
“And there’s someone out there who stole my identity.”
Your eyes were now opened as you tried to unbutton his shirt, but Alden immediately grabbed your hands to make you stop.
“Please, it was hard enough to get out of this bed.” He was literally giving you puppy eyes.
“Fine.” you pecked him, “Leave now.” You completely let go of him, he kissed you one more time before rushing out of the apartment, shouting his love for you on his way.
Alden and the team figured out who stole his identity during the day. And he immediately figured out how this guy did it. Ryan is Alden’s first love’s son, his mother probably told him about young Alden Parker. But that wasn’t the worst part of this, because Ryan was actually their suspect for the murder. And he had to go see a woman he hasn’t seen in over 40 years to tell her that.
This day wasn’t going like he had planned.
He was a nervous wreck on the way to Joy’s house. He knew what she looked like thanks to the internet, but he had no idea what her reaction would be, especially since he wasn’t coming with good news. He’s not a dad, but he can imagine what a parent would feel at that moment.
He definitely did not expect to get sucker punched in the stomach though. Did he deserve that?
Over the conversation, he finally understood what had happened all those years ago. Why Joy’s parents decided to move away one day - he was the reason -, why she never wrote back to him even though she kept every one of his letters - that Ryan stole and used to steal Alden’s identity.
The case was far from over and he couldn’t dwell on all of this and more. But he knew he’d come back, without Tim to listen.
The ride back to the office was pretty silent.
“Do you want to talk about what happened?” Tim kindly offered.
“Not really. I need time to process.”
“Fair enough. You uncovered a lot and I’m sure there’s more.”
Alden grabbed his phone and realized you sent him a text over an hour ago. The kind of texts you send him everyday when he’s at work, to let him know that you’re thinking of him.
‘Love you, Superman. I may have some company when you get home tonight, please don’t be jealous. Take some time to breathe and stay hydrated (coffee doesn’t do the trick).’
‘Not jealous, but who’s the company? Also, coffee is made with
water. I love you.’
‘My boyfriend I told you about this morning. My sweet Max.’
He chuckled when reading your text. Max is your neighbor’s eight years old son, whom you and/or Alden babysit sometimes. The neighbor is a single mom who works two jobs to give the best life possible to her son, and the father has never been seen nor heard of.
‘The only other guy you can have in your life. Is he sleeping over?’
‘You’re too restrictive. Unsure yet.’
“You good, Parker?”
“Uh? Yeah yeah, sorry it’s my fiancĂ©, just being herself.”
“FiancĂ©???”
“So— Kasie can keep a secret.”
Alden spent the rest of the ride telling Tim about you, your relationship, the wedding and why he kept it a secret until now.
“Are you going to tell her about Joy?” McGee asked as they were walking from the parking lot to the office.
“Yes. No reason I keep that to myself, right?”
Right?
An hour after you got home from work, your neighbor dropped off her son. Little Max immediately hugged you, clearly happy to spend time with you. His mom thanked you again for babysitting him, and it turned out he’s spending the night and you’d drop him off at school in the morning. When Max first appears, you directly saw that he was carrying his avocado plant, which was growing. And when his mom left, he rushed to the greenhouse, putting his plant to its designated place. “You’re taking such good care of it, Alden’s gonna be very happy.”
“Thank you. Is he coming home soon?”
“I hope so, I’ll text him.”
“Can I water the plants?”
“How about we wait for him to do it? We wouldn’t want to overfeed them, right?”
“You’re right! Can we play a game?”
“Sure, you know where they are.”
He rushed again but this time to the closet where the board games are. You took this opportunity to text Alden.
‘Max has been here for less than 5min and he’s already asking for you. Coming home soon? ❀’
Little boy came back with a game and you two settled in the greenhouse to play. During the game, he told you about school, his friends, what he’s been up to like you hadn’t seen each other for months, even though you babysat him the previous week. He reminded you about his big soccer game on Saturday, asking again if you and Alden would be here.
“Of course we will be here, cutie. Gotta support our champ!”
He smiled big, extremely proud.
‘Just wrapping up, do I grab McDonalds on my way? Secret tho.’
‘Do you remember our orders?’
‘Yes, my chicken lovers.’
“Is it Den texting you?”
“Yes, he’ll be home soon.”
“Cool!”
As soon as Max heard the door opening and closing, he ran to meet Alden. You giggled and joined them, to see Max hanging onto your fiancĂ© like a koala hanging onto a tree. Your heart melted instantly, just like every time you see them together. You grabbed the McDonalds bag from Alden’s hands and he properly hugged the little boy. “I’m happy to see you, buddy.”
When his little feet touched the floor, he grabbed Alden’s hand. “Come see my avocado plant!”
“Just a sec, bud.”
Of course he needed to put his weapon in the secure box. “Can I kiss my fiancĂ©e?”
“Yes but quick!”
Smiling, he approached to give you a kiss. “Hey you.”
“Hello handsome.”
He joined Max in the greenhouse, to look at the plant. You snapped a picture behind their backs. “You’re doing good, Max.” He praised him and the little boy was very proud.
“Can we water the plants now?”
“Food first,” you called out. “Unless you want to eat cold nuggets.”
The three of you ate, as Max did the same resume to Alden he did to you. You listened to them, looked at them, and thought about how you’d love to have your own baby with Alden. Your mini Alden Parker. And your fiancĂ© caught your eyes, probably reading your mind.
After dinner, they finally water the plants. Then you all played a quick game, and settled in front of a short movie. Max was between you and Alden, enjoying some cuddles. You know that it was past his bedtime when Max got into bed, but your time with him is so limited, you and Alden want to enjoy as much as you can.
Your man was finally able to take his long awaited shower, and found you waiting for him on the bed.
“You know you can take your shirt off when you’re in our room, right?” You teased him. Once he showers, Alden only has some loose shorts on, bare chested. But when Max is over, he makes sure to have a shirt on. Just like you make sure to wear appropriate clothes too.
“If I take my shirt off, you’re gonna jump on me.” He climbs into bed with you, covering your body with his.
“You make it sound like I can’t control myself.”
“You can’t control yourself. But I love that about you.”
He kisses you softly, before resting his head in your neck.
“You never had it this good, did you?”
He chuckles and you can hear it in your entire body. “Never.”
You laid down silently like this for a moment.
“I need to talk to you.”
“Okay, sounds serious. Tell me.”
He moved away to lay down next to you, facing each other. And he started to tell you about his day. Figuring out who stole his identity, and then that this guy was his first love’s son.
Alden had told you about Joy once. You were still getting to know each other, and talking about past relationships. He didn’t really go into details as he didn’t know what went wrong back then. But now he knows.
“So, you saw her today? For the first time in what—over forty years?”
“Yup.” He breathed out.
“And— what did that make you feel?”
“I—“ he thought for a moment. “I don’t know. I mean, it was—weird. I didn’t expect to see her again, and definitely not in those circumstances.”
“I bet. Since you haven’t found her son yet, you’ll probably see her again?”
“Very plausible, yes.”
You stroked his beard, “Do I need to worry?” You genuinely asked.
“What? Baby, no!” He grabbed your hand and kissed your palm softly. “I love you, and it’s not changing, believe me. Yes, it’s disturbing to see her again, but you have nothing to worry about.” He looked so sincere, you couldn’t doubt him. He leaned in to kiss you softly. You wanted more, but neither of you are comfortable with having sex when Max is sleeping over. So you settled for cuddles.
In the morning, you and Alden woke up at the same time to prepare Max a healthy breakfast before waking him up. It took him a long moment to actually wake up. “Next time, no movie.” Alden whispered to you as you were both looking at Max practically sleeping above his pancakes.
“We say that every time.”
“True. Wakey wakey, Max!”
The little boy was straddled. “Do you want me or Alden to take you to school?”
“Both of you!”
You looked at Alden. “Can you drop me off at work?”
“Sure but we don’t take off at the same time.” He answered.
“There’s something called Uber. Very good creation.”
“What’s Uber?” Max asked.
You and Alden never carpool as his schedule is too random. It was nice to do it that morning, with Max in the backseat. Sweet boy made sure to kiss both of you before leaving the car to go into school. “I love you!” He said right before closing the door. You both spent a long time staring at each other in disbelief that the car behind honked.
“Did he mean it?” Alden asked as he drove off.
“Kids don’t say things like that if they don’t mean it.”
“He never said it before, right?”
“Nope. But it’s okay. I mean, he sees us a lot, he hears us saying it to each other, he likes being with us. We’re like his fav aunt and uncle.”
“Alright. I guess it makes sense.”
“We shouldn’t be overthinking this.”
But you spent the day thinking about two things only: Max’s “I love you”, and Alden probably seeing his ex again. You were clearly overthinking.
Alden didn’t really want to see Joy again. Mostly because he didn’t want to feel things he wasn’t supposed to feel. It’s never easy to see your first love, but it’s worse when you never had closure. It stopped so abruptly. One day, she was his whole world and the next one, she was gone and never heard of again until now. Her departure was the reason he turned his life around, stopped being the juvie he was from a young age. But it wasn’t about the departure per se. He changed for her, he would’ve anyways. He wanted to be a better man for Joy, being worth her love. At 16, he already imagined marrying her, spending his entire life with her. Sixteen years old Alden Parker considered Joy Sullivan to be the love of his life.
And he was never able to shake that feeling away.
But the case took him back to her house. He needed her help to find Ryan, and it turned out he was right there, hiding at his mother’s house. Alden was upset that she started to lie, but could he really hold it against her? She did what every mother would’ve done. As he was driving back to the headquarters with Joy in the passenger seat and Ryan in the back, his mind shifted off to Max. He loves this boy very much, and he would adopt him on the spot if he could. He knows you’d too. And you’d probably do exactly what Joy did to protect that little guy.
“Park, are you listening to me?”
“I’m sorry, what?”
“You’re gonna do everything to help my kid, right? He’s very stupid and did some bad stuff, but he’s not a murderer.”
“Joy—“
“Please, Park.”
Not many people call him Park anymore. You hated that nickname from the beginning. ‘Why don’t they call you Parking Lot while they are at it?’ You told him, making him laugh. And at NCIS, he’s either Alden or Parker. Which he preferes.
When he felt Joy’s hand on his arm, he almost jumped off his seat while driving. Physical contact cannot be added. He looked briefly at her and realized she needed to be reassured. “I’ll do my best.” He told her. She didn’t take her hand away immediately, but instead squeezed his biceps. He can’t tell you that or it’d drive you crazy.
You texted Alden a couple of times throughout the day. The first one received a brief answer while the second remained unanswered. After work, you ran some errands for the wedding, scheduled another appointment with the caterer, got a little something for Max to give him after his game on Saturday, and got some groceries. You spent some time on the phone with your best friend to schedule your wedding dress shopping, even though you knew exactly what you wanted. She’s insisting on throwing you a bachelorette party but you keep fighting her off. As you were cooking, you called Alden’s best friend Jeremy to know when he’ll be free to go with Alden to try on wedding suits.
“Sweetie, I hope Parker is not letting you organize everything by yourself?”
“He’s been quite busy with work lately, but it’s okay. I enjoy doing it.”
“Alright. Is Eli still the ring bearer?”
“With Max.” You reminded him.
“Hey I’m good with it, it’s Eli who’s not happy to share the spotlight.”
“Tell him no one is stealing his godfather away.”
“Sure will. Have you heard about his sister?”
“The Admiral who thinks this wedding is a joke? Of course not.”
“More food for us, right?”
“I honestly don’t care but I know it’ll hurt Den if she doesn’t show up.”
“But he’ll be married to the love of his life, and that’s the most important.”
“Yeah I guess.”
“Uh oh. What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, nothing.”
“Sweetie, please.”
Not a lot of people know Alden the way Jeremy knows him. If someone could reassure you, that’d be him. So you told him about Alden’s latest case and Joy. Jeremy didn’t hesitate a second before being reassuring, telling you how much Alden loves you.
“He loves you so much he’s marrying you. And believe me, that was not in his plans.”
“I know— Can I ask you something, Jer?”
“Sure.”
“Has he ever talked about kids to you?”
“You mean having kids with you?”
“Yes.”
“Briefly. He does think he’s too old to have kids now. But—I feel like it wouldn’t take much work to convince him. He always wanted to be a dad.”
“He’d make a wonderful dad.”
“And you’d make an amazing mama.”
“Thank you, Jer. I’m sorry for bothering you.”
“None of that! We’re family.”
When you hung up, you cried because of those last words. You didn’t have a family of your own anymore so it meant the world to have a chosen family now, that you have thanks to one man only.
You were already in bed when Alden got home. It can happen, nothing new there, but that night felt different because you couldn’t help but to wonder if it was because of her. You quickly turned off your night light, put your phone down and pretended to sleep. You heard Alden slowly entering the bedroom, probably to check on you. He took off some of his clothes and circled the bed to be on your side. He pushed hair off your face and gently kissed your forehead. His lips lingered on your skin, and you couldn’t pretend any longer. “Welcome home.”
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you.”
“I wasn’t in deep sleep, it’s okay. You got home late.”
“I know. Case may involve some spies, it’s—shitty. How was your day?”
“How about you go take your shower and join me? There’s some food in the fridge if you want.”
“Be back in 5.”
He kissed your forehead again and was off to the bathroom. You watched the time and it was more than fifteen minutes long. You hate reading into the little things like this, but you can’t shake that gut feeling.
Alden finally crawled under the sheets, and spooned you, kissing your shoulder. His arms trapped you and you loved every second of it. You softly kissed his left hand. “I can’t wait til there’s a ring there.”
“Two months.”
“Yup. And you’re going to try on suits next weekend with Jer.”
“Alright. Did you check with him?”
“Of course. Also, Tay is insisting on throwing me a bachelorette party, but I think there’s no point, cause I don’t have enough women in my life to make it an actual party—“
“I’m sure Kasie, Jess and Delilah would love to be a part of it.”
You forced your way out of his arms so you could turn around to face him. “Do they finally know?”
“I told you I’d tell them before the wedding.”
“Well yes, but why now? During—this case?”
“It has nothing to do with Joy. Kasie figured it out when she worked on finding out how and who stole my identity. Just made sense to tell everyone else.”
Smiling big, you grabbed his sweet face and kissed him. You’ve been wanting him to tell his team from the beginning but didn’t want to pressure him as you knew why he wasn’t telling them. It didn’t go well when his coworkers at the FBI found out he was dating someone 20 years younger than him.
“So, can I meet them?”
He chuckled. “Yes, we’ll organize something after the case. Okay?”
You kissed him more, and more intensely. You didn’t have sex yesterday, and that was one day too much. Alden answered your kisses but when he felt your hands traveling south, he stopped. “Baby, I’m exhausted.”
“Oh, okay. Sure.”
Alden turned you down a few times in the past, just like you turned him down too. You never thought of it twice, nor were disappointed about it, sometimes you’re not in the mood and that’s okay. But it was different that night. Was he really exhausted or was it because of her? You tried to hide your overthinking, and laid back down.
“I love you.” You whispered.
“Me too.”
He cuddled you for a few minutes, before turning to his side. Leaving you with so many questions you only fell asleep around 4am. When your alarm went off, you grabbed your phone and were ready to throw it across the room. But the bed felt cold. You moved your legs around
empty. You listened and the apartment was silent. You went to the kitchen and found a note where it always is.
‘Early morning. Have a nice day, princess. Love you.’
Did you not feel his usual forehead kiss or did he not give it?
The case was solved during the day. Ryan was indeed innocent, as his girlfriend was killed by Russian spies. Alden was very happy to put this one to rest, even though he knew it wasn’t solving what was going on through his mind. It just kept getting worse.

Manny Perez <3
Through it all ~ Manny Perez
Author's note: first work for Captain Perez from Fire Country! this show became my absolute fav, and I have a soft spot for Manny! I hope there are several others like me out there!
Summary: Pregnancy scare leads to a long awaited convo and decisions
Warnings: age gap, pregnancy (talk), kinda smut towards the end
Tumblr media
Keeping a relationship secret in a small town like Edgewater isn’t an easy thing to do. Especially when you’ve lived there most of your life and know basically everyone. Even more when the person you are dating works for Cal Fire and more specifically, is the Captain of Three Rock. But somehow, you and Manny Perez managed to do it. For almost two years.
At first, keeping it a secret was the best thing to do, for everyone. You were quite younger than Manny, became friends with his daughter Gabriela, and so close to the Leones, you feel like one of them. You grew up with Bode and Riley, making Vince and Sharon your surrogate parents. Manny respects them way too much to do anything to jeopardize his friendship with them. After all, he considers that Sharon saved his life when she welcomed him into Three Rock several years ago, allowing him to turn his life around.
But time went by. You and Manny were very much in love, becoming pretty serious. Or so you thought, until that day when everything came crashing down.
You thought you were pregnant. Your period was late, which never happens. You felt tired, your breasts were hurting. This could’ve been just PMS symptoms but something didn’t feel like it was. You thought about getting a pregnancy test, but you knew everyone at the pharmacy. So, you ordered it online and the next day, there it was.
A part of you wanted to do this with Manny, but you were also scared. The baby (and wedding) talk was something that has been avoided through the entire relationship. Him being older, having a grown up daughter, being divorced
Did he want to do it all over again? The most likely answer was no. And this would’ve put an end to your relationship cause you didn’t imagine your life without kids. Weddings could be discussed.
So, you did the test. Set the alarm for a few minutes, and waited.
Negative.
You cried. Bawled, actually. If you put aside what could go wrong with this, you wanted a baby. A part of you hoped you were pregnant. You loved Manny with all your heart, you wanted to spend the rest of your life with him. You wanted to carry his child.
You don’t remember how long you stayed in the bathroom crying. But it was long enough for Manny to come in, find you in there and ask what was wrong, as he held you close to his chest.
“I thought I was pregnant and we were gonna have a baby” You admitted through the tears, pointing at the test sitting on the sink.
Manny didn’t react immediately. Your face was still hiding in his neck, so you couldn’t see his face. He stayed silent for a long time, just holding you, kissing the top of your head. But you could hear his heart beating faster. Was this a good sign?
“Why didn’t you tell me?” He whispered.
“We never talked about this. I didn’t know how you’d react. I still don’t, actually.”
He stayed silent again. So, you had to ask.
“Are you sad or relieved that I’m not pregnant, Manny?”
“I don’t know.” He continued to hold you but the long silence afterwards broke your heart more than those words did.
That led to the worst weeks ever. You had the baby talk, and Manny admitted that he didn’t know if he wanted another child or not. “I’m old enough to be a grandpa.” He kept repeating. Technically, that was true. But you never cared about his age. You would try to kiss him and playfully joke that he’d be a sexy young grandpa but deep down you could see the doubt in his mind growing more and more as he became increasingly distant.
He cared about your age.
Eventually, the answer was no. He didn’t want any more kids. He didn’t want to get married again. And you didn’t see your life without kids. There was no compromise possible. So, you broke up. Your heart shattered and your bed always felt cold now without him there every night.
The rough part of this breakup was having to hide how broken-hearted you were. No one knew, and there was no point to them knowing now. You had to pretend. And so had Manny. Everytime you ran into him, you stared at each other like two lost puppies. It was surprising that no one noticed. You were not okay, and neither was he.
Whenever you saw him at Smokey’s, having a drink - by himself or with someone - you approached him softly, touching his arm or shoulder if he was seated. “How many?” You’d gently asked. His past struggle with alcohol worried you.
“Not many, don’t worry, cariño.” He’d smiled. You believed him.
At some point, pretending was just too much, so you found an arrangement with your job to work remotely and left Edgewater to visit family many miles away. You stayed there for several weeks. You needed to cut it off to get over Manny. Not that you actually believed that you could.
When you came back to town, you gave a heads up to Vince and Sharon only. And of course, they immediately invited you over for dinner. You were only slightly better, and had started accepting the breakup. Avoiding Manny a little more should help.
That was until you saw him at the Leone's house. In his Cal Fire comfy clothes, sitting on the couch with Vince as they watched some sports. Did they invite him too?
Vince immediately jumped off the couch to hug you, your feet no longer touching the floor. “I missed you sweetie.” He kissed your forehead.
“I missed you too, Vince.”
Manny hadn’t moved from the couch, clearly as shocked as you by the encounter. You slowly approached him as he stood up, and hugged each other awkwardly. He looked like he hasn’t slept in weeks, maybe dropped a few pounds too. His scent immediately intoxicated you. Could this hug last forever?
“Manny is staying with us, so he’ll join us for dinner.”
Staying with them? You clearly missed something while you were gone.
While Vince helped Sharon in the kitchen, you and Manny sat down on the couch. “Why are you staying with them?” You asked.
“It’s—“ he cleared his throat. “A long story. Don’t worry about it. How was your vacation?”
“It wasn’t a vaca— don’t change the subject, Manny. What’s going on?”
The Leones came back with some drinks, to Manny’s relief. But you were not giving up.
It was hard to focus on the Leones and what they were saying, no matter how interesting, or intriguing it was. You couldn’t take your eyes and mind off Manny, who stayed pretty silent the entire evening. When there was a moment of silence during dinner, you lost control of your own mouth.
“You’re catching me up with everything that happened in town, except for the most evident thing.” You stared at Manny. “Is there a big secret you’re all keeping from me that I’m not supposed to know about?”
Vince and Sharon looked at each other before looking at Manny. Clearly, it was his decision to explain or keep it a secret.
“It’s not like nobody knows,” Sharon said.
“It’s also not that easy to admit what a screw up I am, especially to–” Manny let go of his fork and stood up, “Excuse me.” You all watched him as he left the house.
You didn’t think for too long before standing up too and following him outside. He was sitting in his car, engine on. You opened the passenger door and joined him inside.
“Going somewhere?”
He huffed. “Like I have somewhere else to go.”
“My place?” You offered.
“We broke up.”
“Doesn’t make us strangers, does it?”
He leaned his forehead against the steering wheel, so you moved on the edge of your seat to get closer, and ran your hand through his messy hair. He only tilted his head to the side to take a look at you. “Talk to me, amor.” you whispered.
“I handled our break up poorly,” the volume of his voice met yours. “I didn’t handle it at all, actually.” his eyes started to fill with tears. “At first, I just wanted to take my mind off things– off you. It was to be one night, one game. But I won, and wanted to win more. And it was sorta working, you know? As I was playing, I wasn’t focusing on you, on us, on how unfair this is.” A single tear started to roll down his cheeks. “I’ve lost everything. My money, Gabriela’s money, my house, my insurance. And on top of that, I don’t have you anymore either.” He sat back properly on his seat, taking a few deep breaths. “I’m a fucking mess.”
You held his hand for a brief moment, before pulling on it so he would get closer. His face rested on your chest, he was trying really hard not to cry too much. On the other hand, tears were rolling down your cheeks.
“It doesn’t matter what our relationship is, you’ll always have me, Manny. Through it all.” You kiss the top of his head, “I’ll help you get back on your feet.”
He immediately sat back up, like we triggered him. “I’m not taking money from you. I already owe 10,000 bucks to Vince.”
“Fine, but that’s not what I was talking about. Are you getting professional help?”
“Not yet, I–”
“Then you will. If staying with Vince and Sharon suits you, then stay there. Otherwise, you know my door is open. How’s your relationship with Gabs?”
“Stop it. This is not up to you to fix me. I’m a grown man, I can do this by myself.”
“It wouldn’t have happened if we hadn’t broken up.”
“We wouldn’t have broken up, if I agreed to have kids.”
“But you don’t and that’s okay. I get it.”
“Good, cause I don’t. What if I’m missing my second chance in life? What if–” he looked straight into your eyes, “I’m missing my one true chance at happiness?”
Manny Perez went through so many bad things over the years. Being a quite young dad, prison, money issues, rocky relationship with Gabriela’s mother leading to a bad divorce, alcoholism and now the break up and gambling. This man is one of the best humans you’ve ever met, but life keeps throwing curve balls at him. He deserves the world, and all you want is to give it to him.
You didn’t have any words at this very moment. All you wanted was to hold him, kiss him and never let go. So that was exactly what you did. You moved as close as possible to him, grabbed him by his neck and planted your lips on his. You were both needy, like two junkies getting their fix. While never stopping the kiss, you found yourself straddling his lap before you realized.
“Te quiero,” you whispered between kisses. It drives Manny crazy whenever you talk in Spanish to him.
“Yo te quiero mas.”
His hands were all over you, and yours all over him. Manny buried his face in your neck, kissing and sucking on your sensitive spot only he knows so well, earning a moan from you.
Neither of you saw nor heard Vince getting out of the house, until he knocked at the car’s window. You immediately jumped off Manny, trying to make yourself presentable. Manny tried to hide his growing erection the best he could before opening the window.
“How long?” was the first thing Vince asked.
“Two years.” Manny answered. “But it’s–over,”
Vince couldn’t help but smirk. “Oh, is it?”
“It’s complicated, V.” you said, “Do you need something?”
“At this very moment, answers. But I suppose I’ll have to wait. Are you sleeping here tonight, Cap, or–somewhere else?”
You and Manny looked at each other for a moment.
“I have custody for the night.” You tried to joke.
“Don’t feed him after midnight.” Vince bent over a little to kiss our forehead before leaving.
“Drive us home, Gizmo. We need to talk.”
“Alright, but drop the joke right now.”
He knew you better than that.
The ride was silent. Both in your own thoughts.
Manny didn’t get out of the car when he pulled over at your place, but got him to follow you inside in the end. He had barely taken off his shoes, that your arms were around his middle, and you tiptoed to kiss his lips.
“This is probably not a good idea, cariño.” He said, even though he intensified the kiss.
“I honestly don’t care right now.”
You walked backwards to your bedroom while still kissing each other, and Manny didn’t fight for even a second. He gently laid you down on the bed, getting on top of you. It didn’t take long until clothes were flying across the room. “I missed you.” He confessed, touching you everywhere he could. “Why did you leave?”
“It was too hard staying here, seeing you almost everyday. I had to get some distance, to process and accept.”
His strong naked body was covering yours. His hard cock was pressing against your wet pussy. His forehead against yours, his nose stroking yours, he softly asked, “And did you?”
“Does it look like I did?”
He chuckled and you kissed his dimple. “I need you, Manny.”
“Need you more.” On those words, he slowly entered you.
Sex with Manny has always been amazing since the first time. He was your perfect match, and you were his. You discovered several things with him, and you both tried new things together. And every single time was mind blowing. But that night wasn’t about that. That night, he made love to you, like it was the last time ever. It felt both amazing and heartbreaking.
But it couldn’t be the last time.
“Maybe I don’t need kids to be happy.” You said as you were both lying down and cuddling. “Maybe I just need you.”
Manny didn’t react immediately. You could hear he was taking deep breaths, probably trying to get a hold on his emotions. After several seconds, he rolled to the side and rested on his elbow. “No.” He just said.
“No?” You looked at him, confused.
“You want kids. You want to be a mom. I’ve seen you with kids, I’ve seen you cry when the test came back negative.”
“But the thing is I don’t want kids with someone other than you.” Your tone was sharp, because you were getting angry. Why was he fighting on this? This was your decision.
“For now.”
“For fuck sake’s, Manny! I know what I want and don’t want, okay? I’d rather be with you, and not have kids, than be with someone else and have kids with them.”
“You’re sacrificing yourself.”
“I’m making a choice. I’m choosing you.”
His voice broke. “Why would you do that?”
“Because I love you, Manuel Perez.” You stroked his cheek, “Sorry. Manuel Gizmo Perez.”
He laughed and kissed you.
~
Over the next weeks, Manny went to counseling with your support. For everyone - especially Gabriela -, he was still living with the Leones, but the reality was he spent all of his nights at your place, where he belonged. He still refused your money, but got a second job on a boat to help pay his debts. It didn’t give him a lot of free time or even time to rest, so you tried to make it as easy as possible for him. You made sure he ate properly, slept the bare minimum, you even helped with Three Rock paperwork.
“She’s my rock, Vince.” He admitted to his friend, as they were having a drink together. “She’s been amazing to me and I can’t even—get her something. Invite her to a restaurant, a gate away or something.”
“That’ll come, man. For now, all she needs is for you to be okay.”
“I have to say I’m surprised you didn’t kick my ass when you found out. I know you love her like your own daughter.”
“I do. To be honest, Shar and I have been suspicious for a while, and we agree she can’t find a better man than you. I mean, we’ve met her exes—“ he laughed and Manny joined.
“Doesn't the age difference—shock you?”
“You’re both grown adults. But can I say something you may not enjoy hearing?”
“Go ahead, Chief.”
“She’s meant to be a mom.”
Vince didn’t know how right he was. But you and Manny agreed you wouldn’t tell anyone about the pregnancy before he told Gabriela.
“How was lunch with Vince?” You asked as Manny came back home.
“Nice. I got you those wings and spicy sauce you’ve been craving.” He handed you the brown bag, and you got excited about eating the wings. “I still think it’s a bad idea for you to eat the sauce, amor. You can’t stand spice.”
“Clearly, the baby isn’t aware of that.”
Manny disappeared in the kitchen and came back with a big glass of milk. “Just in case.”
“Thanks guapo.”
He sat next to you, you kissed him briefly before attacking your food.
“You didn’t tell him anything, did you?”
“Was hard not to, cause he brought it up. But I want to talk to Gabby first.”
“When are you planning to tell her?” You asked, with your mouth full.
“Tonight. I told her I’d stop by her place.”
The spices were hitting up. You were sticking out your tongue like a dog, and trying to create some air with your hands. Manny laughed and grabbed the milk for you. “Told you.” You started to drink some milk and your boyfriend got closer, leaning down to be right next to your stomach. “You can’t do this to your mama, baby. But clearly, you’re a Latino.”
“He or she is a Perez.” You said between sips.
“Maybe mama should be a Perez too.” He said with a huge grin on his face.

Oops :)
Welcome on writeandsurvive! ❀
I’m Fio, from @navalcriminalimagines and as I said I wanted to start fresh, so here we are.
The content will be the same; fanfictions.
Eventually I’ll take requests, but for now, I want to get back into writing slowly.
Main Fandoms/Characters I’m writing for:
NCIS / NCIS LA / NCIS NOLA (I have no interest in Hawaii 😬) ~ Jethro Gibbs, Alden Parker, Dwayne Pride, G Callen, Marty Deeks, Tobias Fornell
Fire Country ~ Vince Leone (Billy Burke, ily), Manny Perez, Luke Leone
The Last of Us (outbreak/no outbreak/games/series) ~ Joel Miller, Tommy Miller, Perry
Fandoms/Characters I could be tempted to write for:
Criminal Minds ~ Aaron Hotchner
The Mandalorian ~ Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal, loml)
Characters played by RaĂșl Esparza.
This list is non exhaustive. More could be add, some could be taken off if I’m not comfortable with them after all.
Yes, those are very specific. I have a thing for older men, and I’m not sorry about it.
So, yeah! Enjoy!
love!

Long time, no see! :)
How’s everyone doing? I don’t know exactly how long it’s been, but a lot happened. I’ve been considering coming back for a little while now. But I’d take it easy.
I haven’t made up my mind yet. I kinda want to start fresh, but I don’t want to get rid of this blog, which gave me so much over the years. Especially my soulmate @toheavenwmydrms. ❀
Still in the NCIS fandom (Gary Cole stan here), I actually binge watched NCIS LA.
I completely gave up SVU (sorry not sorry). But Rafael Barba forever.
Fire Country is my new favorite show (Vince Leone and Manny Perez, my beloved) (Why isn’t there any fanfics of this show on here? Should I correct that?).
And I’ve fallen deep in the Pedro Pascal rabbit hole.
I suppose the reactions to this post could help me make a decision.
Sending you guys lots of love. ❀

I don’t know if that’s Gary actually playing the guitar but that’s clearly his voice. Anyway, just a little treat, cause that’s very pretty to see.

Hellooo! Bonjour :) I’m so happy to find another writer who writes for Alden Parker, because he’s my new favourite Federal Agent in the crime procedurals I watch. Love your stories! 💙Is it possible to request a SFW fluff story with Alden? Maybe with another agent on the team, where they both love food and try to challenge each other to find the “best meal/pastry of the week?” â˜ș
Hey love! đŸ«¶đŸ» So happy to have someone else who’s favorite is now our lil man Alden đŸ„° He’s just perfect, isn’t he? ❀ I hope you’ll enjoy!!
Pastries, meals and dates
When Alden Parker brought pastries on his first day on the job, you knew it would work out really well with him. It surprised him when you knew what the pastries were, and where they were coming from. Finding new pastries, making his coworkers discover them was his hidden talent, it was something he was known for in the FBI and he wanted it to be the same at NCIS. But this wouldn’t work with you; he wouldn’t be able to surprise you with those.
Instead, you were the one that surprised him the next day by bringing pastries too. “Let’s see which ones the team likes better.” You grinned at him, putting your white box next to his.
That day, the pastries you brought were gone before Alden’s. “You’re on,” he told you before leaving the office in the evening.
The following week, Alden brought new pastries he spent a long time looking for. The team loved it, it was completely gone before lunchtime. The next day, it was your turn to bring some, and the same thing happened. “So, which ones were the most delicious?” You asked the team.
“Sorry Y/N, but I have to go with Parker’s,” Tim said.
“Me too.” Jessica added.
Alden was grinning at you, and you rolled your eyes. You focused on Nick, who chose yours. “We have to ask Jimmy and Kasie.” You said, practically rushing to the elevator, Alden closed on your heels. In the silver box, the supervisory agent leaned against the wall and looked at you. “You’re stealing my thing, you’re not playing fair, Agent L/N.” He smiled.
“Aw, don’t you have other things, Parker?” You mimicked him on the opposite wall.
“I have many things.” He smirked.
The doors opened, and Alden invited you to get out first.
Unfortunately, you lost that week.
This went on for weeks; you brought pastries one after the other, asked everyone to choose their favorites and counted points. Nobody complained, it was a silly game that allowed the team to eat free international pastries.
But eventually, you switched from pastries to meals, just between the two of you.
One day, Alden invited you for lunch to a nice Greek restaurant. You didn’t ask if it was a date because you were afraid of the answer but it surely felt like one. Alden was a perfect gentleman; pulling the chair for you, asking if you wanted more, if the food was like you wanted it, paying at the end despite your arguments.
The next week, you invited him for dinner to a new restaurant you’ve been dying to try. He insisted on paying again but he didn’t win this time since you were the one who invited him.
“Now we don’t have a team to decide between us.” He said as you were walking back to the car.
“No, but we are both honest people. I was dying to try this restaurant but yours was better.” You confessed.
“I am happy to hear that, thank you for being honest.”
You were walking side by side and you felt his hand brushing yours a few times. You hoped he would grab it and intertwine his fingers with yours but he didn’t. For a moment, you considered doing it yourself but you were too afraid of rejection. This would hurt your relationship you’re building with him and you loved it too much to take that risk.
You and Alden went to different restaurants for weeks, being honest about who found the best one. You loved every second you spent with him. The more you were with Alden, the more you were falling in love with him.
You hoped he would mention if those were dates, but he didn’t. That word never left his mouth.
Jessica and Kasie kept telling you that he was smitten, completely in love with you but you couldn’t believe them. You were afraid to believe them and be totally wrong. At least, until he said so himself or did something that meant it.
It’s been over a month since you and Alden had been going out to restaurants, but this time it felt different. On the drive to the place he chose, he told you that the owner and chef was one of his friends. “It’s a regular restaurant, you probably went there already,” he told you.
“I thought the goal of this was to make the other discover new places and meals?” You asked, confused.
“Yeah, but this one is different.”
“How so?”
“Because I want it to be a date, Y/N.” He took a quick look at you. “If you want it too, of course.”
“Why did it take you this long?”
“Fear, I guess? I was scared to destroy what we were building,”
“Then what changed today?”
“Nick, Tim and Jimmy had been annoying me for weeks. I can’t take it anymore.” He chuckled.
“Same here with the girls.” You smiled.
“So—“ he slowly put his hand on your thigh, giving you the opportunity to ask him to stop if you wanted to. “We could’ve done this weeks ago?”
“Yup, apparently.” You admitted, putting your hand on top of his.
“Well, I don’t regret it. This little game was great, even though I gained a few pounds.”
“You look perfect, Agent Parker.”
“So do you, Agent L/N.”
Now that you knew it was an official date, and after weeks of wait, you didn’t want to wait anymore. When Alden opened the car door for you, you got down, and kissed him before he even could close it. He let go of the door in order to hold you against him, intensifying the kiss. Your arms wrapped around his neck, hands running through his smooth hair. His hands traveled in your back, and you kissed until you were out of breath. “Couldn’t wait anymore.” You smiled.
“Me neither, but I was trying to be a gentleman.” He chuckled.
“Alden, we lost weeks already. Don’t worry about that,”
“Okay then.”
He pinned you against the car and kissed you again.

I wonder how the ncis team would be if they became twlight saga vampires powers & all just a thought
That is something I never thought about but it is interesting!!
Like who would they be? Because the first thing that came to mind: Abby would be like Alice! Without a single doubt! They have the same kind of personality.
Gibbs would be a lonely vampire. As he’d struggle with good and bad (like Carlisle when his condition changed) he’d choose to stay away from everyone. Either humans or other vampires.
Tony wouldn’t be a good kind. He’d love to take advantage of his powers, his beauty to get women. Like his power would be to erase/reset some memory; he’d tell women who he truly is, has sex with women, drink their blood (as they are willing) and use his power to make them forget about him.
Ziva would chase the bad vampires or other horrible creatures. Her power: her strength. Vampires are strong but Ziva would be even stronger, like unbeatable!
McGee would struggle so bad with who he is. He wouldn’t know how to deal with it, what to do. He’ll probably spend hundreds of years trying to find a way to be a human again. His power: seeing people’s memories.
Ducky would be the historian of the Vampires. One of the oldest, he’d know everything there’s to know about them. He’d have any particular power, but he can remember everything. He could tell you about something from hundreds years ago.
Jimmy, being a newbie, would try to fit anywhere he could. So, the first vampires he meet, he’d become like them. Be bad if they are bad, good if they are good. But his conscious would catch up with him if he’s around horrible vampires. So he’d leave and try to do what he think is right.
Bishop would be like a cat. You don’t see her, hear her, smell her, nothing. Which she clearly uses at the advantage. She would be like her own justice, anytime she witnesses something bad or illegal, she’d make those people pay (beating them, scaring them
)
Torres and Knight would be a team (not a couple). They would travel the world, looking for fame, and money. Not caring if humans discover who they are.
Parker would have a tribe. Not humans he transformed but vampires already, and he would make sure they become one of the good ones like him. Because he can’t stand the horrible things vampires do, it makes him sick and he wants to do something about it.

Hiiiii my fav Alden Parker writer!!!!!!
😊🌾😊🌾😊🌾😊🌾😊
I have a request, I’d love to read one of Alden having a sweet young pregnant girlfriend but the team doesn’t know cuz it just never comes up at work till she’s a witness to a crime. He becomes very protective of her and he doesn’t want her out of his sight till the case is over & the team gets protective of her too. I feel like he would cheer her up by getting her favorite pastries & she’d love to playfully call him daddy which would get him excited 😏
this is pure fluff! <3 enjoy my love, i had much fun writing it! <3
words count: 4,1k
Baby Parker
Ever since you found out about your pregnancy, you have become a compulsive buyer of baby stuff; furniture for the nursery, toys and most importantly, baby clothes. You had a full wardrobe ready for the baby before you even knew the sex of your little one. Your partner, Alden Parker, was amazed every time he came home and saw what new things you bought. Most evenings, he sat there while you showed him everything.
It got worse when the OBGYN told you you were having a baby boy. The first thing you bought was a tiny gray suit; similar to your baby daddy’s. Your favorite of his. Alden almost cried from happiness, just like every time he noticed your baby bump growing. Or like that night when the baby kicked for the first time.
You were cuddling on the couch, watching the show you and Alden had been binging. He had an arm wrapped around your shoulders and his other hand resting on your belly when it happened.
Your body jerked lightly from the surprise and you let out a small ‘Ow!’. Alden sat straight up, pure wonder on his face. “Was it?” he asked.
“His first kick!” You laughed and cried at the same time.
“My god!” Alden had tears in his eyes too, and he put both hands on your belly, waiting for another kick. “Hey baby boy, – how does it feel?” he looked at you.
“Wonderfully weird.”
A new kick.
You and Alden looked at each other, completely amazed. It was perfect. “I can’t wait to meet him.” Your boyfriend said, a tear falling down his cheek.
The baby kicked again, like he was responding to his father’s voice. You ran your hand into his hair, “Talk again, daddy.” you invited him.
Alden settled down, his face close to your baby bump. “Baby boy, it’s daddy. Four months til we get to meet you!” Another little kick, Alden grinned at you and you returned it, still crying from happiness.
“Mama is crying from happiness and so am I,” It was exactly a kick this time, but the baby still moved. “You’re real, our tiny human.”
You spent the rest of the evening watching the man you love talking to your unborn son, and feeling him moving and kicking inside you. This was one of the happiest moments in your life and you knew there was more to come.
When you tried to sleep, your boy wasn’t calming down. “Hyperactive already?” Alden joked, “He really is half you.” he kissed you before settling between you under the sheets. His hand rested on your belly, stroking small circles with his fingers. Slowly, the baby stopped moving around, allowing you to fall asleep.
A few weeks later, you enjoyed your lunchtime to go out and shop. You went to your favorite baby store. You tried to control yourself and not buy too many clothes for your little guy - only because Alden told you the baby probably wouldn’t wear half of the things you were buying. You were proud of yourself because you only bought a couple of things. You texted your boyfriend on your way back to the office but stopped when you were two people fighting a few feet away from you.
You looked up from your phone, just in time to see one of the men pulling out a gun and shooting the other. Before you could react, the shooter was running away and got inside a car. It was probably all the stories that Alden told you that made you take a picture of the car before it was gone. It was blurry as you were shaking, but they probably would be able to get something out of it, right?
Everything happened so fast. Some people were checking on the man that had been shot, and 911 had been called. You stayed there but didn’t approach, as you felt your baby moving a lot around. You should probably sit
but you knew you had to wait for the police to get there.
You told what you saw a few times, showed them the picture you took and one of the cops had the guts to insinuate that you took the picture because you were in on it. Luckily, his partner knew it was nonsense. You were getting tired, thirsty and hungry. Your little boy kept moving and kicking, like he was reacting to the horrible thing you just witnessed. You asked a few times if you were free to go but the cops asked you to stay more.
“There are a few witnesses, bright day light murder, that was risky.” McGee said to the team.
“Have you talked to any of them yet?” Parker asked him.
“No, but I’m gonna start with the pregnant lady. She’s been here for over an hour, she must be exhausted.”
Alden followed to where McGee was looking and his jaw dropped. The pregnant lady wasn’t just any lady. It was his lady. His woman carrying his child. Concern and worry appeared on his face and he immediately started running towards you. The team watched their boss running almost like a man to one of the witnesses and then they looked at each other. “Who is that?” Jessica asked as they saw Alden hugging you.
“A witness, her name is Y/N Y/L/N.”
“Family member? A niece maybe?”
On the other side, all your discomfort disappeared when you saw the man you love running to you. You stood up from the bench you had been sitting on for over an hour, and welcomed him into your arms. Alden hugged you tight and put his hands on your belly, “Are you two okay?” He asked, clearly worried. “How are you feeling, sweetheart? How long have you been on that bench?”
“An hour, maybe more. We’re fine,” you stroked his cheek, “Your little guy keeps moving though,”
His hands didn’t leave you or your belly. “I’m sorry you witnessed that–” he kissed your forehead.
“Wrong place, wrong time,”
“Do you have some water in your bag? Something to eat? I’m gonna get you back to the headquarters so you can rest and tell me everything, okay?”
You nodded to what he said last, and followed him. He helped you walk, like you were sick or injured but you didn’t mind at all. You loved how attentive he was being, plus all you wanted at this moment was to lay down for a nap.
You and Alden approached his team who was still investigating the crime scene. “Is everything okay, Parker?” One man, who you assumed was Tim McGee, asked.
“Yes but no. I need to have a word with those assholes who can’t take care of a pregnant woman correctly!” His voice raised, surprising those who worked with him but not you. You knew how overprotective he could be, especially since you were pregnant.
“Den, it doesn’t matter.” you told him, “Let’s just go?”
“It matters to me. What kind of people let a six months pregnant woman wait on a fucking bench for an hour, without even checking on her?” He saw one of the cops who welcomed the team earlier and called him out. “Can you answer that, uh? Couldn’t you offer her some water? Food? Or offer her to wait in the car, which is more comfortable than a bench? I hope a pregnant woman would never have to count on you!”
“Alden, you’re overreacting.” you grabbed his face in your hands, forcing him to look in your eyes. “I’m fine, we are fine.” you pressed your lips against his, not caring that a few people were watching. Alden took a deep breath to regain control of himself. He pressed his hand on your baby bump, feeling his little boy kicking. “Even your son is telling you to calm down.” you smiled. “Take me to your office, daddy.” You grinned. You love calling him that since you found out about your pregnancy.
Alden told his team to finish here while he took you to his car. He grabbed a bottle of water and a protein bar in his bag and gave them to you. You gladly drank but you weren’t hungry. “Eat please,” he told you, driving towards the NCIS headquarters. “For him.” he placed his hand on your belly. How could you resist?
“The look on your team’s faces was amazing,” you giggled. “You’re gonna go through a real interrogation.”
“And I will tell them everything they want to know.”
At the crime scene, the team stared at the car going away. “Definitely not a niece,” Jimmy said.
“Did any of you know?” Jessica asked.
“That he had a pregnant girlfriend about half his age? Nope.” McGee smiled.
“She is pretty and glowing,” The female agent said.
“Pregnancy tends to do that,” Jimmy told her.
Even though you kept saying that you were fine, Alden practically carried you to his desk and settled you in his desk chair. He got you more water, and asked if you wanted something else to eat. “Alden Parker, stop it. I’m okay, and so is our boy.”
“Promise?”
“Yes!” you giggled. “Now, I need to show you something.”
You took your phone from your bag and showed him the blurry picture you took. “That’s the car the shooter left in. I know it’s blurry but–”
“I’m gonna get this to Kasie, she’ll get something out of it. It’s amazing, honey. Great thinking,”
“Luckily, I was texting you when it happened so I had my phone in my hands.”
“Do you wanna meet Kasie?”
“I’d love to!”
Alden extended his hand to you, but you stood up without taking it. He sighed and showed you the way to the elevator. Inside the little box, he grabbed your face in his hands and kissed you passionately. “I wish it was under different circumstances, but I’m glad the team finally knows.”
“Me too, baby.” you kissed him a little more until the lift was over.
Intertwining his fingers with yours, he took you to Kasie’s lab. “Already back–oh hi!”
“Hey Kas,” he greeted her, “This is Y/N, a witness who took a very useful picture, and also my girlfriend.” He put his hand on your belly once again, “and this is our baby boy.”
“That is–a lot of information,” she laughed, “I had no idea,” she extended her hand to you, “Very nice to meet you, Y/N. And when are we going to meet this little one?”
“Three months.” you shook her hand.
Alden gave your phone to Kasie so she could transfer the picture to her computer. Before giving it back to you, she saw your lock screen; you smiling at the camera while Alden kissed your cheek. “I have to ask, why the hell did you hide this from us?” she asked your man, gently slapping his arm.
“Force of habits.” he said. “Plus I’m glad you know now.” he wrapped his arm around your shoulder, holding you close to him.
“So much love in my lab, it’s very unusual,”
“Can I leave her with you for about ten minutes?” he asked Kasie but looked at you before she could even answered, “There are armchairs in the back where you can rest,”
“Where are you going?”
“You’ll see in ten minutes.”
Alden kissed you before leaving the lab. He didn’t feel comfortable leaving you after you witnessed a murder but he wanted to do something for you; getting some pastries and your favorite tea. After this, he wouldn’t let you out of his sight. He didn’t know much about the crime yet, but you were a witness and from what you told him, it was possible that the murderer saw you. Luckily, he knew you couldn’t be more safe than at the NCIS office.
“Are you okay?” Kasie asked you as you were settled in one of the chairs.
“Yes, and I don’t need to lay down but if I don’t, Den is going to freak out.”
“‘Den’?” she smiled.
“Yeah, sorry. His little name,” you giggled.
“That’s sweet. You have a great partner,”
“Wouldn’t be having a baby with him if he wasn’t,” you smiled, rubbing your baby bump.
“Is he moving?”
“Yes. Do you wanna touch it?”
“Can I?” she sat next to you. “I never knew anyone who was pregnant, so I never–”
You took her hand in yours and put it on your belly, exactly where your boy was moving. Kasie grinned with wonder, “It’s crazy. Must feel weird, right?”
“At first, yeah. But now, it’s just amazing. I love feeling him moving,”
“The team is gonna have a little mascot,”
You laughed and felt him give a frank kick, “Baby Parker will love that apparently.”
Exactly ten minutes later, Alden came back with a white box in one hand and drinks in the other. “Are you serious, Parker?”
“Very.” he smiled. “Got you a little something too, Kas.”
“On one hand, I’m trying to be careful about what I eat and on the other, this guy keeps feeding me with pastries.”
“Well, if I ever dated a man, I’d love for him to be like you, Alden.”
“Yes, like him. Because this one is taken.” you playfully winked at her, taking a bit in your pastry.
“Thank god, by you. For a moment, we thought he was dating the weirdo from the second floor.”
Alden shot a glare at Kasie, who understood she spoke too fast. “What weirdo?” you asked, looking between both of them. “Alden Richard Parker!”
“Sorry,” Kasie took her tea and pastry and went back to her computers.
“Thanks for throwing me under the bus!” he called out and looked back at you.
“I’m waiting.”
“It’s nothing. Just this woman that keeps hitting on me, but I made sure she knew I wasn’t interested.”
“Did you now?”
He sat next to you. “Yes and I haven’t seen her in weeks. You trust me, right?”
“I trust you, but I don’t trust women who hit on my man.”
Alden chuckled and kissed your forehead, “I do love when you’re jealous.”
“Is she pretty?”
“A bomb.” You punched him and he laughed more. “Maybe I’ll get her pregnant too.”
“Give me your gun. Now.”
Still laughing, he grabbed your face in his hands and kissed you. “I love you so much.” he moved down on his knees and kissed your belly, “And I love you too.” he said to his son, and of course, the baby kicked as a reaction.
“I’ll get my revenge, Parker.”
“Don’t care, not jealous.” He played with your son through your skin.
“Says the man who almost kicked my gay cousin’s ass because he was helping me choose clothes.”
“You were in your bra in front of a man I never saw before. Saw red,”
“That, you did.” you giggled, running your hands through his hair and then his beard.
“I hope I didn’t cause any trouble.” Kasie came back, “The team is back, Den.” she grinned.
Alden grabbed his phone and opened the Bandium app, sending a group text to the team. “Update in Kasie’s lab.”
A few minutes later, Nick, Tim, and Jessica walked in. Alden kissed your forehead and joined them upfront. “Is this Missus okay?” Nick asked.
“She’s not the Missus–yet.”
“Oh, is someone preparing a proposal?” Kasie teased.
“I am indeed, but let’s not talk about it here,” he looked in the back, making sure you didn’t hear anything. “So, tell me everything.”
The team updated their supervisor on everything they collected at the crime scene, which wasn’t much. Despite a few witnesses, there was no explicit description of the shooter. “Enter the future mama.” Kasie smiled, showing the picture on her screen. She was working on clearing it, as it was really blurry.
“She was shaking when she took it.” Alden told them, “But I guess it helps to date a cop,”
“Maybe this case will be closed fast, thanks to your beautiful girlfriend you never told us about!” Jessica teased him.
“I’ll tell you everything you want to know later, but for now, I wanna make sure there will be no repercussions on her so I’m not leaving her side.”
“Overprotective, future dad Alden Parker.”
“You know what? Yes!” He admitted to his team, “I’m overprotective, jealous, probably annoying to her and very much in love. And when my son is born, I’ll bore you to death with pictures and stories about him!” he grinned, not noticing that you came out from the back of the lab. You hugged him from behind.
“Don’t worry, we had McGee that did the same with his twins.”
“Hey!”
“You’ve got a job to do, Alden. You can’t stay by my side.”
“Watch me.”
“Help, guys?”
“If she stays down here, she’s with Kasie.” Jessica offered.
“I can even lock the doors, if it makes you feel better.”
Alden sighed. His team was siding with you and he didn’t like that. You witnessed a murder, and maybe he was overreacting by thinking you may be in danger, but he was taking any risk with you and the baby. Never. He had no common sense when it came to you, he knew it from the beginning, before you even got together.
“Alden, I’ll watch over her like she’s the apple of my eye.”
He looked at your smile, knowing he couldn’t say no to you. “You rest, you eat, you stay hydrate, and if there’s anything–”
“Take him out while you can,” you pushed him towards his team and Jessica was the one to grab his arm.
“Don’t pop that kid out now.” Nick joked before closing the door behind them.
“Your baby daddy makes me think I may be mistaken about white men.” Kasie told you and you never felt more proud. And according to his kick, so was your son.
You stayed with Kasie for an hour, watching her going through the evidence while answering your boyfriend’s texts. You talked a lot, getting to know each other. She asked why you and Alden weren’t married yet, and you admitted that you wanted to marry him and he always told you he didn’t want to do it again because of his catastrophic first experience. Then she asked if you had a baby shower planned and you admitted that most of your friends and family turned their back to you because you were dating an older man.
Kasie was already planning a surprise baby shower for you.
Alden came back and acted like he hadn’t seen you in weeks. He made sure you and the baby were okay, once again. He had the baby store’s bag in his hand and gave it to you. “Wanna show me what you bought?”
Smiling, you got the clothes out of the bag. It was a baby scarf, a little flanel, some jeans and black vans sneakers. “Oh my god, these are the cutest things ever!” Kasie exclaimed despite herself. You and Alden laughed, and you handed the clothes to her. “Is he going to fit in this?”
“Crazy, right?” Alden smiled, looking at the baby shoes in his hands.
“I can’t believe that soon, the tiny human growing inside you will be in those.” Kasie was amazed and you were close to sob. You missed having a friend to share that with, a friend would be excited to meet your baby boy. Alden noticed the tears in your eyes and held you against his chest. He didn’t have to ask what was going on.
“Trust me, Kas, when it’s the woman you love carrying your baby, it’s just–indescribable.”
Kasie saw many couples in her life, but never had she witnessed two people that much in love with each other. “You’re not crying because of me, sweetie, right?”
“Hormones,” you said, which wasn’t a complete lie.
Alden kept holding you, stroking your back and hair, until you stopped crying.
Eventually, they had to talk about the case. Kasie managed to clear the picture you took, but unfortunately, the car was stolen a few days prior, so it wasn’t helping much. You felt bad for them. “You’re coming back to the bullpen with me?” he asked and you could see that he didn’t want to be away from you. You agreed, kissed Kasie’s cheek and followed the man you loved.
In the elevator, he hugged you as tight as possible. “I’m sorry,” he whispered.
“It’s not your fault. They aren’t real friends if they turn their backs so easily, right?”
“Exactly. You have real friends here. A new family even.”
“Gonna need to know more about Kasie, but I feel like she’ll be a great godmother to our boy, don’t you think?”
“The best.”
The team had to meet people for their case, get information, but Alden refused to leave the office. He sent his team who completely understood and you stayed at his desk, next to him. He was working while keeping a hand on your belly. Your son kicked every now and then, and Alden answered by softly pressing on your skin with his fingers. It was like they had their own code to communicate and you loved to witness it. “I’m not in danger, right?”
“No, sweetheart.” he kissed you. “I’m overreacting, I’m sorry.”
“Not the first time, won’t be the last,” you touched his eyebrow, looking at him lovingly. “I love how protective you are.”
“Even if it’s too much, sometimes?”
“Even that,” you kissed him but got stopped by someone clearing their throat.
“Joanna, hi.” Alden greeted the woman standing in front of his desk.
“Alden.” she said, before looking at you up and down. Her eyes stopped on your baby bump. It didn’t take you long to understand who she was.
“Joanna, this is my partner, Y/N. Honey, this is Joanna, a coworker.”
Grinning, you extended your hand to her but she didn’t take it. “Can I talk to you–privately?”
“No, what’s going on?”
“Are you sure you want your partner to hear?”
“Partner and mother of his child,” you corrected.
“Did you know that the father of your child likes to flirt with other women?”
“I never flirted with you, Joanna.”
“Sure you didn’t,”
“Love, can you take me to the bathroom? I’m not feeling great–”
Completely blocking Joanna, Alden’s face turned pale as he helped you stand up and took you to the bathroom. He kept asking you what was wrong, if he needed to call 911 or your OBGYN. It was only when you were in the bathroom that you smiled and kissed him. “I’m perfectly fine.” you told him. “But this woman wasn’t going to leave us alone.”
“Y/N, damnit! You can’t do that to me, my heart is racing as hell!” you pressed your hand against his chest and realized that he wasn’t lying.
“I’m sorry, babe. We’re fine.”
Alden pressed his forehead against yours, holding your face in his hands, “I never flirted with her.” he told you.
“I know, Den. It’s always the same problem with you; you’re too nice with everybody and women tend to take it for flirting and interest.”
“I’ll try to be an ass from now on.”
You laughed, “You couldn’t even if you tried.” He softly kissed you.
“Gonna call the team and see if it’s okay if I call it a day.”
“Alden
”
“Shh,”
For the team, it was okay. Alden could take you home for the rest of the day. They were handling it, and this case didn’t seem like a hard one.
Once at your place, you put the clothes in the wardrobe. There were too many clothes for just one baby, especially considering how fast he’s going to grow. “Don’t worry,” Alden said, hugging you and your bump from behind. “The ones he doesn’t have the opportunity to wear, our next baby boy will.”
You laughed, “Let me give birth to this one before thinking about another one.”
“And another one, and another and another,” he kissed your neck.
“Do you want me to give birth to a team, daddy?”
“Yes. The DC Parkers.”
You turned around to face him, “I love you so much.”
“I love you more.”
It was only the next morning that you learned Alden sent an email to his director to inform him he would be working from home. He asked you to do the same for your work and you stayed at home for a couple of days.
It was only when his team told him that you were in no danger that he managed to leave you out of his sight.
