Eusebia - This is the pillar that signifies reverence and veneration towards the gods. It can be translated to 'piety' or 'reverant conduct' meaning that you show respect for them.

Hagneia - This is the pillar that signifies purifying yourself. It entails having moral, perhaps physical too, purity and avoiding miasma where possible.

Arete - This is the pillar that signifies excellence and brilliance. It entails trying to reach your highest potential and this can be in any field.

Sophia - This is the pillar that signifies the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom.

Sophrosyne - This is the pillar that signifies self-control and prudence. It involves being of sound mind and remaining balanced, which can further lead to other positive qualities to have.

Every time I have religious doubts, Ares, without fail, reinforces my beliefs. He is everything to me and without him, I don't know where I'd be in life.

every single day I think about how american black vultures are known for engaging in allopreening (preening between different species)

and they have a specific relationship with crested caracaras, in which the black vultures assist them by not only preening them after meals but also leading them to food in the first place— due to their superior sense of smell— while the caracaras assist the black vultures by acting as a warning signal in case of danger

and while this is more typical of black vultures, this is not common at all for any member of the falconidae family— it’s a special bond!

Oh,how much I love learning about the gods and how much I ADORE searching resources for them.I'm so exicted to read all of them... (I hate the fact that there are so little resources for Lord Poseidon,Lord Thanatos and Lord Ares :,) ).

I've seen people do this a few times so, I wanted to give it a try! It's under the cut :]

Things that remind me of the gods! Part 1

This also may be edited over time!

Chaos: The feeling when you wake up in the middle of the night and you don't know where you are but something about it just feels right, being able to be yourself regardless of what is happening around you, wind blowing through the trees.

Lord Zeus: The smell of rain, old buildings (particularly royal ones), the smell of pine, clear skies with fluffy clouds, running through a forest, bird-watching, working in the garden, visiting churches.

Queen Hera: Old architecture, churches with beautiful stained glass windows, babysitting, flower arranging, reading in a quiet room, dancing with no one around, cleaning.

Lord Ares: Working out, that cup of coffee or tea you make in the morning before you do anything else, finally being able to stand up for yourself, listening to music and singing along even if people can hear, going on a morning run, going to therapy.

Lord Hermes: Catching the train, telling jokes, collecting little trinkets, telling stories, travelling to meet with friends, writing letters, keeping a diary, skateboarding in the summer, picking up coins that you found on the floor.

Lord Apollo: Learning how to play an instrument, painting, sketching and making doodles, making pottery, listening to nostalgic music, looking at sunrises and sunsets, going on an afternoon walk, a bike ride in the summer, taking care of someone when they're ill.

Lady Hestia: The first fire that is set up when it starts to get colder, your favourite mug, staring into the flame of a candle, making the bed with so many blankets and pillows, hot chocolate, eating a meal with someone you love.

Lady Tyche: Donating old things/money to charity, giving people gifts or money for no particular reason, taking care of the things you already have, sending appreciative messages to loved ones.

Hermaphroditus: Finally finding jewellery or a makeup look that makes you feel like yourself, cross-dressing, going to aquariums, seeing white feathers randomly whilst on walks.

Lady Aphrodite: Playing with body fat whilst looking in the mirror, hugs, listening to love songs, blowing kisses, ranting about something you're really passionate about, bathing.

Lord Dionysus: Cross-dressing, when you first start to get drunk, when you're with friends and can't breathe you're laughing so hard, collecting beer caps or wine bottles.

For me it's lightining candles, even though I can't do it often living in a dorm. I find it really calming, grounding, in a sense. Being home for the spring break makes me want to just sit down and look at the flames <:

I like to share most of what I'm having with Deimos; especially when I'm alone and use it as a time to talk to Him!

Some of my favourites, though, would be coffee, chocolate, warm milk. I also like giving dried stuff, too!

Listening to or writing slam poetry

Wearing jewelry that reminds you of him

Making a list of your personal strengths and things you're proud of

Writing letters (that you will never send) to people who've hurt you and burning them

Exercising, if possible

Dancing, especially to music that brings out your passion, anger, or rebellious side

Supporting local activists or online activism for causes you believe in

Expressing yourself the way you want to physically (this can include little things, such as wearing a certain bracelet or putting on a scent)

Allowing yourself to express your anger and upset; sit with and feel your feelings

Keeping a picture of him in your wallet (this will be a recommendation for every deity, since this can be really discreet)

Playing combat-based video games

Watching combat-based shows

Having a candle that reminds you of him (no altar required)

Having rose imagery around (e.g. art of roses, rose jewelry, rose fairy lights, etc.)

Having imagery of horses around, especially horses related to fire (his chariot has four horses that BREATHE FIRE, WHAT)

Place motivational/affirmational notes somewhere you'll see them

Wearing bold colors, such as red or maroon (these colors are UPG; what do you associate with Ares? Wear those!)

Learning how to box or wrestle (a punching bag tends to be helpful)

Engaging with your personal passions

If you have dogs, playing with them
