hi i just got the first dose of the vaccine but it made me realize a little bit more of fuckery in my childhood. i have a horrible fear of needles, as in like will attack doctors and literally anyone with their pencil lead pushed far enough out. but the whole time i was realizing that i was’t just normal afraid of needles, i was having panic attacks around them. for my whole life. but my parents ignored this and their idea of how to deal with my crying (yes of course they just said i was overreacting) was to physically restrain me. my parents would hold me down while i was screaming and crying and having a panic attack at five years old. What the fuck. and every time i would go to get a shot they would threaten me not to cry, or they would punish me if i had a panic attack. and this was just normal to them?? like they never thought hey maybe this is something normal kids dont go through and maybe something’s wrong?? so yeah im sure that affected me mentally and really fucked with me so if anyone has any info about how exactly to deal with that trauma id appreciate it
