Is Cis a clur
The answer is no. If you don't know what cis is or have never heard of it here's a small description. Cis in my words is basically a person who identifies with the gender they were assigned at birth. If you were born male and still identify as a male then you are cis. The same thing applies to women. Here is the controversy. Recently over the past couple of years, straight cis people have been getting a little bit angry for lack of better words, at the use of the prefix cis. They feel it is an insult and a slur. As such they have been saying things like "I'm not cis?! *insert angry emoji here* I'm a woman!" Which would be to imply that if you are cis then you are trans. And upon hearing this little tidbit they turn livid. Trans is the opposite of cis. If you identify differently than the gender you were assigned at birth then you are trans. It doesn't matter if you're male to female or female to male or anything inbetween. If you are anywhere on the trans umbrella whether that be nonbinary or genderfluid or even gender non-conforming, you are then under the trans umbrella making you trans, not cis. "But why should we be calling REAL women cis?!?!" Hmm I dont know why should we call trans women trans? Honestly these gender labels are completely and utterly useless. If you dont want to use the word cis then apply the same principle and stop calling trans women "trans women." Its the same principle. And despite what you may think, there are far more trans people in the world than you could possibly know. And either way, cis was never a term we created to enhance our gay or trans agendas or any of that bull crap. Terms like cis and trans have existed in natures for decades. Its a biological and scientific term. Literally there are plants and animal species that go through a biological process where they can change certain aspects of their DNA or even gender, therefore warranting the terms cis and trans. It's science, not a slur.
Thank you and have a very fruity day my fruit cakes <3

Sappho of Lesbos
Sappho was a Greek poet who lived from about 610-570 B.C. She lived on the island of Lesbos which is where we got the word "lesbian" from. She was one of the greatest female poets of her time. In her poetry she wrote of what it was like to love women as a woman. Her exact sexuality is unknown though it is clear that she did have an attraction to women. The term "Sapphic" which stands for a woman who loves other women whether you be lesbian or bi or pan, was a word that was derived from her name. Sappho is the main reason we have landed on the terms we now use to describe wlw (women loving women). As a lesbian I believe its important to know the history of where the word comes from and get to know parts of our own culture as women. Thank you and have a lovely gay day <3
