house didn’t hate amber because she was annoying or bitchy or taking too much of Wilson’s time. Whether he hated her or not is even up for debate.

I think it’s a kind of guttural moment when house and Wilson are talking about why Wilson likes amber so much. And then house says “you’re sleeping with me”

To me, house hates amber because she is him. She is him in personality and humour, but she’s a woman.

House finally has to realise that, well, Wilson is capable of dating someone with houses personality. It’s just that he doesn’t want to date a man.

It’s this moment of: so it isn’t me, it’s this uncontrollable thing: my gender. This thing I can’t change that’s stopping me from loving you.

house and wilson are both incredibly dog-coded in the most opposite, yin and yang ways

you have house, the mutt who was chained to his kennel in the cold, hit with the newspaper, never been petted in his life. he doesn't know how to be loved by someone, so he growls and bites and snarls. he's not a violent dog & he doesn't really know why he bites. he's all fangs and hackles and rough paws

and then there's wilson. he's loyal to a fault, and just wants to please. he's been loved, but he doesn't know what to do with it all. he doesn't know how to be himself. he would die without pets and cuddles and treats, so he's morphed himself into someone easily liked. he's nothing like house, but they're a perfect fit. he softens house, and house roughs him up a little, gives him a little bite back in his bark. two sides of the same dog coin
