Hey, it's me 🦋 It's been a minute since I introduced myself, and I've gained several followers over the last few months, so keep reading to get to know me! My name is Misheála (mish•ē•ā•luh), but most know me as "Mishy"! I'm a writer and poet/spoken word artist primarily, and a creative all-around. Through God-given wisdom and discernment, my aim with my words is to meet you wherever you are in life to encourage, inspire, and motivate you, and bring you closer to the Lord! I'm also a model and love fashion, so if you're about that, follow my fashion IG @mishyfits 📝 Something I'm currently learning: I'm learning a lot of things right now, but the first thing that comes to mind is to be joyfully content with where I am. I'm a perfectionist and a planner so it's easy for me to want to try to plan the next steps of my life, or to feel like there's some sort of formula that will cause things to go my way. This honestly rolled off my tongue today to one of my summer students who was constantly crying because he wanted to go home. He's 2-years-old so, he may or may not have grasped what I was trying to say 😅😂 But I needed to hear this just as much as he did. Because I find myself easily slipping into worry without realizing it, and before I know it, I've gone down a rabbit hole of possible scenarios that haven't or may not ever happen. But to be at peace? That means making the conscious decision to be like: "Okay, Lord, You know my heart is anxious, and why. Please comfort me here. Bring me peace. Help me surrender my worries to You." It takes discipline to pour our energy into God so He can give us peace rather than run wild with anxiety. Discipline in realizing when we're anxious, and then following that up with prayer or worship or both! I am constantly praying that God gives me the strength and discipline to choose surrender and peace over the easy route of worry!
