The very first Robot Camp anthology Campfire #1: Journeys is debuting this weekend at the Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo at University Hall, Lesley University, in Porter Square, Cambridge, MA! The anthology includes a piece from each of the members of Robot Camp, spanning journeys of all kinds: growing up, adventuring, dreaming, compromising, learning, and, of course, going to new places, both inside and out. We’ll be at Table D04! Hope to see you there!

I made a pixel art animation yesterday of Adelaide from the webcomic I’m working on, Adelaide & The Ram! Animation is hard....
Speaking of that webcomic, It will start soon, hopefully. I am still debating whether to start releasing it after 5 pages are drawn or just draw the whole first chapter before posting anything. I’m not sure yet if I want to do the standard weekly webcomic schedule or just release each chapter whole... Each appraoch has its own advantages and disadvantages. DECISIONS DECISIONS

Here are some favorite panels from a short comic I drew that will be debuting in @robotcamp‘s very first Campfire anthology at @micexpo on October 29-30! It is called Highspeed to Loëtha and is about a scifi train journey. It’s set in the same world as my comic Salamander, and my upcoming webcomic Adelaide & The Ram. If you are in the New England area, you should come by the show and check out the book at the Robot Camp table!!

Inkwash test for Adelaide & The Ram. Probably pretty close to what the actual comic will look like, although it’ll be more detailed both in the lines and how I use the inkwash, since this was a super quick drawing. Turns out brush inking is way faster for me than the bowl-point nib pen I usually use though so that’s pretty neat!!

St. George and his trusty robot dog Salvador, from my sketchbook. These two have a small but important role in Adelaide and the Ram.

Sketchbook drawing, practicing fight poses for Adelaide & The Ram. There’s a scene in the comic’s first chapter where Adelaide helps a teacher demonstrate moves in a self-defense class at the school/orphanage where she grew up.

Sketchbook drawing of Adelaide and The Ram, characters from my upcoming webcomic. Adelaide kind of looks like a pokemon trainer here which, I mean... isn’t too far from the truth...
(her team would be Tangela, Sharpedo, Sableye, Gliscor, Aromatisse, and Torkoal)

It’s finally done!! My comic Salamander is now up for sale here: https://pelago.itch.io/salamander
Here’s the premise of the story:
A young girl named Annette finds a garbage-eating salamander made of living flame in the woods and takes it home as a pet. What could go wrong?
It’s a full-color .pdf, 28 pages. The first 4 pages are above! I worked super hard to finish this and I’m so excited for people to read it. Please reblog to spread the word if you like what you see!
This comic is standalone, but it’s set in the same universe as (and shares a few characters with) my upcoming webcomic, Adelaide & the Ram, which will be launching toward the end of September! Stay tuned for more on that soon!

Oh also, I have been gradually working on a color version of my short comic “Salamander,”which is about a girl who finds a garbage-eating fire salamander in the woods and takes it home as a pet. Here are the first 5 pages, and when it’s done I’ll put it up as a pdf on a gumroad or itch.io shop for a couple bucks. It’s my best comic so far, so look out for it!

SAINT GEORGE AND THE DRAGON
This is loosely related to the comic i am working on, “Adelaide and the Ram.” Will be posting more related art soon, leading up to the launch of it as a webcomic probably this fall. For reals this time. I triple-dog swear it.

I colored up some sketchbook doodles for fun — these are all characters from a comic project I'm working on called "Adelaide & The Ram." Still figuring out where this thing is going, but it'll be a sort of gothic horror-y adventure comic, like Dragonball+Suspiria+Tsutomu Nihei's Blame!, and also St. George the Dragon Killer is in it...
I'm planning to start on drawing it this year, but first I want to do another Minicomic or two to warm up.

Hey thats me in the orange sweater! MICE was really great, the best con I've tabled at so far. It was really well organized and run, and I met SO many cool comics people. It has filled me with positive comics energy!

What an awesome weekend at MICE! Here’s milescook, deadratcomics, cheerupbrigade, jamjarastronaut, and johnfquirk at their table selling their comics!
It was my first time ever going to MICE and I was shocked at how many vendors there were! There were plenty of really talented artists to see in between going to panels and I’m still not positive I saw everything! I was also very pleased to be overwhelmed by the amount of visitors buying from them. The place was packed! I hope everyone had a successful weekend at MICE and I’ll be sure to table there myself next year ;P
