The verdict! Two whole positive opinions! That settled it then; I'm changing the names

Galaxy and Void sound fine to me as character names, but I don't think Time, Elemental, and Memory work as well, so as a last minute change, they're getting new names in Venture.

My plan for naming Venture characters is mostly to scuff a latin translation, so I'll do that here, too. How do Chrona, Terren, and Renti sound?

Tags from @ender-niffler's recent post that I resonated with deeply. You didn't know it, but I made Venture because I was tired of how normal I was drawing the Steves.

Okay that's only half the reason. I also wanted a version of TSS that wasn't connected to that really stupid Green Steve creepypasta, but I got so endeared to the AU designs that I barely want to draw them as humanoid anymore.

That is, unfortunately, probably bad news for The Twisted Timeline now that I think about it... not that I'm good with updating that comic anyway :p

Rainbow (19, he/him)

Hybrid of every race of Arkisen. Capable of using all their powers to an extent greater than the Elders, though he's not as powerful as he could be

Core friend. The reason everyone is together

Silly man filled with hope and love. He's trying his absolute best to help everyone

Fionna (20, she/her)

Edoran. Average power level

Has known Rainbow since early teenhood

Known for boosting morale and being generally inspirational. She often neglects her own emotional needs

Cy (18, he/him)

Navis. Above average power level

Has known Rainbow since early teenhood

Quick to take action, but doesn't always think things through

Aspen (19, they/she)

Montir. Above average power level

Childhood friends with Rainbow

Kind, but not very outspoken. Capable of incredible violence

Winter (19, he/him)

Hicorus. Below average power level

Becomes Rainbow's friend near the beginning of Origins

Curious about the world and inconfident in his powers. He was a sheltered boy and wants to learn as much as he can

Lavender (20, they/them)

Cendale. Average power level

Joined the friend group in the middle of Origins

Adventurous but careful. They're very closed off; inexpressive, but not uncaring

I think about these guys more than I do Sabre for some reason. I guess I love me a good friend group.

Any M headcanons? I think about him all day every day

I have one that I thought of recently.

So this is similar to my HC with the Yellow Steve's with their roles being known because of their braids, but for the Red Steves its the place of where their red flower is placed.

Red Steves have poppies while the Leader and Apprentice have roses. A Leader must always wear a weaved flower crown while the Apprentice have their rose over their right ear.

After M was announced as the new Leader, he didn't wear the flower crown, unsure of his role if he was worthy of his Leader's place, and the pressure of becoming the new Leader was too much.

During the Aftermath, M has finally come to accept that he is needed in the role. Things happen a lot, but he comes to accept that he is responsible and is worthy enough. It will take some time to adjust and learn, but after everything, along with revealing that the Red Steves are not extinct, he was sure enough that the other Leaders will help him, along with Light Steve.

Part two of information about Rainbow's past. Part one is here.

Time to introduce all the friends Rainbow made pre-hibernation. A key change I made to Rainbow's backstory in Venture is that he keeps an average of five friends with him at all times instead of just one. That way it hurts more when he loses them (I'm gonna be so honest, I still don't know if I'm going to kill them off or let them die of old age. Nonetheless, they are dead when he wakes up two hundred years later).

Aspen is his first friend, a Montir he met in his early teens who has overbearing parents and a problem speaking up for themself. Rainbow is somewhat of an escape from a life she has no control over, and yet he still feels like he's dragging her along without consideration sometimes. Aspen loves the adventure though.

We're obviously keeping his best friend in the group. The Hicorus who was there with him since the early days of his journey. Winter's arc would revolve around gaining confidence in his powers. I'm also taking all of his accidental racism in SSO, doing it on purpose, then getting rid of it. He was raised in a city with very few other Arkisen, leaving him ignorant and dismissive of the problems Hicorus caused for Edorans, past and present.

When Winter joins Rainbow on his journey, he learns more about Edorans through the help from Rainbow's friend, Fionna. He learns all sorts of bad stuff about his people, and even becomes less self-conscious thanks to Fionna's encouragement and infectious confidence in herself. She's the one the group considers the mood-lifter, which means she is 100% not looking after her own happiness, and doesn't even realize it.

Lavender is the group's nerd and collector. They learned and acquired an impressive number of things, most of which were done to help Rainbow. Lavender is more interested in the unique abilities some of the relics hold than their own magic. They've cast every spell a Cendale is capable of, and they got bored of it quickly. I promise not to write this guy out of the story by turning him into a chicken like Sabre did.

The last member of the core group is Cy, the Navis. He's the youngest, but starts off as the strongest of the six of them (he doesn't stay that way since Rainbow has to power up by the end). He has way too much energy for his own good, and often thinks on impulse, but sometimes his quick thinking is helpful.

Other friends that don't literally follow Rainbow around everywhere are Professor Redd, who acts as a strange uncle to the group, and Hypno, who Rainbow knew back when he was Ivan. Through that past aquaintanceship, he manages to take Hypno from enemy to wildcard ally who only Rainbow really likes, and who only really likes Rainbow.

Hmmm ok here we go

Sabre recorded his earlier episodes in the hopes of becoming famous, but his priorities shifted once he started caring about the Steves. He dropped the camera faster in RQ than he did in TSS thanks to his sense of deja-vu.

Galaxy has gone to Subway before. He thought it was alright. Nothing groundbreaking.

Time would love cosplay I can feel it.

Without his magic, RQ!Elemental can't keep a plant alive.

TSS!Hypno would sometimes visit Rainbow while he was hibernating and talk to him, even though he knew Rainbow couldn't hear him.

TSS!Alex and Galaxy are world-famous flower crown makers. Famous for different reasons though. Alex is is insane at it, and Galaxy sucks in a way no one before him has.

The Elders play Bingo because they are all old men. That's why you only ever see two in TSS; they're off old-people gaming.

RQ!Rainbow was a painter.

Lucas envies Sabre for being able to move forward after losing so many friends, since it only took Light's death to make him quit.

M can sew. He made his own cloak and the robes of the Red Leader.

Plague smokes weed.

There was a Plague Steve in the SCU, but he was a doctor so he didn't cause any problems.

You didn’t think to at least lead with that if you were going to trick me?” Their eyes glowed. They were looking straight at him now. “You… are pointlessly cruel, Herobrine. You didn’t have to do any of this. What the hell is your problem!?” They shouted, inching closer to him, the glow in their eyes brightening, and a similar light forming around their hands. “Relax, Red. It’s not as pointless as you think.” He backed up closer to the wall, smirking. “The possession, attacking your friends. It all had a reason behind it, I swear.”
