a fallen king
pov its dark CACAO fucking dies this time!
ya uh sorry if the chrs r ooc i was tired writing this /gen
Dark Cacao barely had his final breath before Dark Choco slashed him for the last time. Dark Choco lowered his sword and watched the sight of Dark Cacao fall to the ground with a THUD . Jam oozed out of the newly cut wound.
The sword’s red gem pulsed in glee as he caught his breath. Wiping the sweat from his forehead, he gave a small smile. He did it. He really did. He killed him.
…But why did he feel a sense of regret…? It was like he did something wrong. Was he supposed to do that?
…He killed him. He really did kill him.
“...” Dark Choco took a step back. Did… Did I…? He did. He knew he did. The smile faded from his face.
“My king!” Someone shouted from behind. The cookie ran towards the fallen king to aid him. “My king, are you alright?!” Caramel Arrow.
She turned to look at the once prince who had slain the king. “You… you promised us a kingdom as strong as the chocolate mountains themselves!” Tears formed in her eyes as she looked at him. No longer a face of admiration, but now a face of pure rage. “You are no prince!” She cried.
“You are no prince.”
The words echoed in Dark Choco’s mind. And she was right. He was no prince. He didn’t deserve the title of a prince. He didn’t deserve any of this.
He nodded in agreement. “I do believe that is true.” Sheathing the sword on his back, he looked into her eyes. “I am no prince.”
“Do you feel no remorse for what you have done?!” She yelled at him. “You have slain the king, your own father!” Caramel Arrow loaded her bow and pointed it at him. “You are a monster!”
Dark Choco nodded again. “I am a monster.” A tear rolled down his face as he looked away from her. “To have killed my father, I am no prince.” He chuckled. “I see.”
“...What has gotten into you?!”
“I…very much am a monster.” He looked at his hands, now stained with jam from Dark Cacao. “I have killed my own father. One who cared and loved me.” Tears welled in his eyes as he smiled. “I do not deserve such a title. I am no prince.”
Caramel Arrow lowered her bow. “Why… Why have you done this?” She looked at the ground while tears streamed down her face. “Why have you… betrayed us?”
“...That is something I cannot explain.” He took a step, turning away from the scene. “I am sorry.”
“But…but why?!” Caramel Arrow cried. “Why?! Why did you do this to us?!”
She tried to reason with him but Dark Choco started to walk away.
“Please…!” She sobbed. “Why…?”
He stopped for one last time.
“I am sorry. This is my destined path.”

guys part two!!
its also a songfic-- the song is francis forever by mitski!!
dark cacao basically visits his grave and breaks :broken_heart:
Dark Cacao stepped onto the property of the graveyard, a small flower held in one hand, a small picture of him and his son in the other. The moon shined its dull light onto the gravestones of other deceased cookies as a gentle cold breeze blew. He walked slowly, navigating his way through the yard, clutching the picture tight as he walked.
I don't know what to do without you
It has been some time since... the incident. When Dark Choco died in front of him. He didn't do anything at all. He should've done something. Sighing, he shook his head and continued to walk.
I don't know where to put my hands
After a while, he finally reached the grave with the name "Dark Choco Cookie" etched out on the stone. Kneeling, he gently put the flower down on the dirt in front of the grave and sat criss-cross beside it.
I've been trying to lay my head down
He sat alone for a while, with only his thoughts to accompany him. He held the small wrinkled picture of the two in both hands and looked into it. Both smiling happily, with barely a care in the world. The picture was aged yellow with creases and tiny tears surrounding the edges of it. It's only been a few days and he misses his son already.
But I'm writing this at 3 AM
"...Hello," He said. "It's me... your father." He sighed. "...I do hope you're doing well." His thoughts drifted into the incident.
He put the picture down and looked into the dark green grass.
I don't need the world to see
Tears filled his eyes as he recalled the incident.
That I've been the best I can be, but
"...I'm sorry." He wiped the tears from his eyes "I... I shouldn't have let that happen." Resting his head on his hands, he sighed, letting the tears slowly roll down his face.
I don't think I can stand to be
He glimpsed at the stone. "...Your name is engraved onto the Altar of the Fallen." He smiled weakly through tears.
Where you don't see me
Looking back at the ground, he held the picture again. Tears fell onto the picture as he looked at the picture from the past.
On sunny days I go out walking
He gripped the edges of the photo tightly, creasing the photo even more. He missed him more than anything. He should've done more. All of this wouldn't have happened if it weren't for him.
I end up on a tree-lined street
He broke.
I look up at the gaps of sunlight
"I didn't do anything right for you." He closed his eyes.
I miss you more than anything
"I should've done more."
I don't need the world to see
He just wanted his son back.
That I've been the best I can be, but
He wanted to reverse time.
I don't think I could stand to be
But he couldn't.
Where you don't see me
He put one of his hands on his head and clutched his hair.
And autumn comes when you're not yet done
It tore him into pieces.
With the summer passing by, but
He looked at the picture once more.
I don't think I could stand to be
"I'm so sorry."
Where you don't see me
"Please... I just want you back."
dark choco fucking dies (remake of an old fic)
death and blood (jam) warning
cross-posted from ao3 & wattpad
Dark Choco crouched on the ground, using his sword for support. He breathed heavily. This wasn’t supposed to happen. He was supposed to win.
“... Is this my limit?” He stammered. “Is this… how far my strength could take me?” He attempted to get up, only to fall over again.
Dark Cacao lowered his sword as silence filled the room.
“Strength.” He started. “Yes, it was I taught you to wish for strength, was it not…” He sighed. Both parties stayed silent. Dark Cacao looked at the ground.
“I remember it as if it was yesterday… I held you in my arms for the very first time, and the millenia-old ridges, the ancient trees, the wolves, and all the warriors chanted their blessings…”
Dark Choco looked up at his father, someone he thought he’d never see again.
“And we stood together atop the Great Wall overlooking our entire kingdom…” Dark Cacao felt his eyes go glossy as he recalled those times. Times of sweetness and warmth, now a time of bitter and cold. “Holding your tiny hand, I promised myself to raise a strong, just, and kind warrior.”
He wiped a tear from his cheek as he looked at his son. His eyes met with Dark Choco’s ruby red eye. His eye was filled with regret.
“It is as clear as day now…” He said. “My life’s greatest regret is that I never gave you enough… love.”
He closed his eyes. “I taught you how to wield a sword, and I never taught you why.” He fell silent.
“...” Dark Choco was silent. He didn’t know what to say to such a sudden remark. He slowly got up from his feet, wincing at the pain he was in.
“I am sorry.” Dark Cacao said, looking away. “This realization was gravely overdue…”
“...!!” He was in pure shock. That apology hit him like a semi-truck. Was it even his father’s fault…? Wasn’t it his own fault?
The room fell silent. Nobody looked at one another. Dark Choco gripped his sword tightly. Dark Cacao kept his head low.
“Enough with this touching family reunion.” A voice scoffed from behind the pair. “I can’t take it anymore.”
Dark Cacao looked behind Dark Choco and at the other cookie. She had bright red hair with leaf charms on each of her two buns. She seemed to be from the Pomegranate Village.
Accompanied by her was another cookie. They had long purple-black hair that covered one eye. They held a big scythe to their body in anticipation.
Dark Choco instantly spun around. “Pomegranate Cookie…?!” He took a few steps back. “What are you-”
She rolled her eyes. “You failed your mission again.” She pointed her mirror at Dark Choco. “Because of that, you forced my hand.”
The sound of magic being casted into the air filled the room as it hit Dark Choco, causing a yell from both him and Cacao.
“Son- What is going on?!” He cried. The so-called “Pomegranate” cookie used magic to hold Dark Choco up in the air.
“Dark Choco, stop fooling around! We have jobs to do!” The gray-skinned cookie said, pushing the scythe’s point onto his chest.
“Let- me GO-!” Dark Choco yelled, struggling to break free from the sorcery.
“...Dark Choco… What is going-”
“We have no need to explain.” Pomegranate interrupted. “He has not been cooperating so, he must pay the price.” She grinned. “Unless, you would like to hand over the Soul Jam.”
Dark Cacao widened his eyes as he stepped back. The Soul Jam?! He looked at Pomegranate and then his son. Was it worth it? Of course it was.
“Fine. I’ll give you th-”
“No.”
“What?”
“You aren’t giving away the Soul Jam. Go on, kill me.”
“Son.”
“Kill. Me.” He repeated.
“No-”
Pomegranate clapped her hands together. “Then it is settled. We’ll take your son’s life.” She exclaimed. “Not like he helped us anyway.” She muttered, rolling her eyes again. She released Dark Choco from her sorcery, letting him fall to the ground. “Licorice, go on.”
“So, Dark Choco, do you have any last words??” Licorice said enthusiastically, pressing his scythe against Dark Choco.
“Don’t do this Dark Choco. Please.” He pleaded for his son to stay. He’s already lost everything he loved. He didn’t want to lose anything else.
Looking up at Dark Cacao for the last time, he gave a slight smile.
“I’m sorry.”
“DARK CHOCO!”
Licorice pushed the tip of the scythe quickly into Dark Choco’s stomach. Jam poured out the wound as he coughed up blood. He fell over, hitting the ground with a hard THUD. It happened so fast, Dark Cacao couldn’t process it.
“Our job is done, Licorice.” Pomegranate said, turning her back to the body that lay on the floor. “Let’s go, Licorice. We have other matters to attend to.”
The two walked out of the room, leaving Dark Cacao and Dark Choco alone. He ran to the body that was surrounded in a pool of jam.
“No.” He stared at the body in disbelief. “No.!” He can’t be dead. He can’t possibly be dead. He denied it.
Slowly getting on his knees, he picked the body up, holding it in his arms. He shook it.
“Son. Wake up.” He shook the body harder. “Please… Dark Choco…” His eyes went glossy as he realized Dark Choco was dead. “No. Please. No!” He broke. “Please son. Why did you have to leave me?” Tears streamed down his face like a river as he cried over the body of his son. He could’ve done more. He should’ve done more. “I’m sorry.” He sobbed.
“I’m so sorry.”

at the end of the battle for you
major death LOL
i luv writing abt silly little characters having breakdowns after a loved one dies
crossposted from ao3
Pure Vanilla coughed as he cleared the dust from his view. On his knees and hands, he breathed heavily. He looked around in a panic for any sign of life. Anything that could bring his senses back to reality that he was, in fact, still alive. Grasping the weathered staff he used to fight in the battle, he got up.
In the midst of the dust and fog was... Dark Enchantress- No. White Lily Cookie.
She lie on the ground on her side, her long braid arched on the ground beside her. Scratched up, she looked almost un-living.
"White Lily Cookie!" Pure Vanilla cried when he saw his loved one in such a state. He ran to assist his dear friend's side, stumbling over rubble from the battle. Kneeling on the dirtied tile floor, he scooped her up with his hands. "Wake up..." He shook her.
Her tired pink eyes opened and looked into his. A feeling of relief washed over Pure Vanilla.
"...Pure Vanilla Cookie..?" She said in an exhausted voice. She gave a slight smile
"It's okay..." He squeezed her hand. "You're coming back home." He smiled back.
White Lily's smile quickly faded as he said that. "...No." She stopped looking into his eyes. With a tearful look she let go of his hand. "I cannot."
"...What...?" He felt a crack in his heart. "Wh... why not?!"
"I simply cannot stay." She sighed. "I hold too much of a burden to this world; it is best if I simply... go."
He felt another crack. "No... no..!" He sobbed. "Don't go..! Stay.. please.." He closed his eyes.
"I'm sorry, Pure Vanilla." He opened his eyes and locked them with hers. "It's best like this."
"White Lily..." His eyes went glossy as he looked at hers. "I- I failed you...! I caused all this.. I should've been better..."
"No. You've done too much for me." With a slight smile on her face, she held his hand for the last time. "It is my turn to thank you." A single tear rolled down her cheek. "I lived a good life. I thank you, Pure Vanilla." She closed her eyes.
"...White Lily.?" He said, squeezing her hand. "Wh.."
He felt his heart shatter into pieces.
"No.! Please..!" He cried, shaking the body as tears blurred his vision. His breathing sharpened as he looked at his once best friend. "I... should've done more..." He squeezed her hand as he sobbed.
"...I didn't do enough for you."
