Bollywood actresses who played the one-sided lover in films-

We have often seen men and women play the role of a one-sided lover in Bollywood films. Today we will talk about 9 such characters-

Urmila Matondkar in Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya(2001)

Urmila's portrayal of a spoilt young woman, who ends up falling in love with a married man, won the hearts of the audience. She was a complete psychopath, who was ready to cross all the limits to win over the man she loved. Her obsession with her beloved drove her to the extent of trying to kill his wife.

Anita Hassanandani in Kucch Toh Hai(2003)

The evil Naagin and YHM's Shagun started out with the screen name of Natasha in this Indian version of "I Know What You Did Last Summer". Playing the role of the childhood best friend of the lead man(Tusshar Kapoor), it is revealed that she's been in love with him since a long time, but secretly. She keeps a photo of his with her. Even though they get engaged later on, the love is still one-sided. She later comes to know that he was still in love with his college crush, and then uses the arrival of a merciless killer to possibly eliminate her and other friends.

Shilpa Shetty in Rishtey(2002)

Probably the only good thing about Indra Kumar's melodrama was Shilpa's portrayal of a eccentric and lively fisherwoman Vaijanti, who falls in love with a single father(Anil Kapoor) who got separated from his wife due to a misunderstanding. Even though he doesn't reciprocate her feelings, she continued to support him in tough times.

Karishma Kapoor in Mere Jeevan Saathi(2006)

To be honest, this was a very good film. It was sad that the delay of this film sealed it's fate. It's about a musician(Akshay Kumar) who's been in love with his longtime sweetheart(Ameesha Patel), but he doesn't know that his new boss(Karishma Kapoor) was in the same college and has harboured a deep infatuation for him. And now she'll not stop at anything to get him, no matter who gets hurt in this process.

Ameesha Patel in Zameer- The Fire Within(2005)

Another film which got screwed due to the release delay. A chemistry professor(Ajay Devgan) is recruited to teach in a college for 6 months. There he comes across Pooja(Ameesha Patel), who constantly troubles him and makes fun of him. This infuriates him, but soon she realizes that she has fallen in love with him. But she doesn't know that he is committed to marrying a dancer suffering from paralysis(Mahima Chaudhary)

Preity Zinta in Chori Chori Chupke Chupke(2001)

After an unfortunate incident which renders a married couple(Salman Khan and Rani Mukerji) to be childless, they decide to hire a surrogate mother to give birth. So he ends up hiring a prostitute(Preity Zinta) for this job. He manages to keep his wife in the dark about her profession. Trouble brews when she falls in love with him and insists on having him in return of the child.

Priyanka Chopra in Andaaz(2003)

The story is about a Air Force pilot(Akshay Kumar) who moves to a foreign area after his childhood crush(Lara Dutta) gets married to another man. There he comes across a vivacious, beautiful Indian woman(Priyanka Chopra), who instantly falls in love with him, but he doesn't respond to her feelings.

Madhuri Dixit in Devdas(2002)

The story revolves around a rich boy(Shah Rukh Khan) and a girl(Aishwarya Rai) who are in love with each other. But his family doesn't allow him to marry her. Heartbroken, he leaves his home and starts drinking heavily, while seeking refuge in a brothel, where a courtesan(Madhuri Dixit) falls in love with him.

Tabu in Jeet(1996)

The story is about a hardened criminal(Sunny Deol) who undergoes a change after coming across a beautiful, educated girl(Karishma Kapoor), and falls in love with her. He reforms himself for her, but when she gets married to someone else, he resorts to his old violent ways. He then gets caught up in a dilemma when he realizes that his next target is his beloved's husband. And in the middle of all this, there is a prostitute(Tabu) who resides in his neighbourhood, someone who is in love with him...
