This one literally made me laugh out loud. 🤣
Chenford in the future:
Lucy: (introducing Tim to someone) This is my ex-boyfriend, Tim Bradford.
Tim: Will you stop doing that. I’m literally your husband.

I updated my current Rookie Fanfic Worth the Wait.
Here’s how this chapter starts.
Tim’s eyes followed Lucy as she walked away. Then he turned back into his room. He wiped the tears from his eyes and gave Genny a sad half-smile. “Thanks for helping Lucy.”
“Of course,” she said. She studied his face, looking at him as though she was looking into his soul. “She’s the one, isn’t she? The one you care about the most in the world and would rather spend your life with? The one you love?” The way she said it was less of a question and more of a statement.
Tim stared back into Genny’s eyes for a moment as he tried to decide how much to reveal. “I hoped so, but she didn’t feel the same way,” he said, shrugging his shoulders.
“Really?” Genny said in a quiet, but surprised tone. “That is not how you say goodbye to a coworker when they retire. I think you’re wrong,”
“Did she say something to you?” Tim asked with his eyebrows raised, but then he immediately shook his head. “Never mind. None of that matters now anyway. Not with the baby and Ashley…” He let his words drift off.
Genny started to open her mouth to say something, but Tim was right – it wasn’t going to help right now. However, Genny and Lucy had talked the whole time Tim was walking the halls. In her vulnerable state, she had shared with Genny how much she loved Tim, but how scared she had been to act on it, to ruin the close friendship they had. She had so many regrets now, but she made Genny promise not to say anything to Tim. So, Genny tucked away that information in her heart for another time.

Can you help me out? What breed of dog is Kojo?
I have pet allergies, so I’m not a big dog person, but I want to describe it accurately in my story.

From the ashes (chapter 2)
Sixty-five days later
Walking into Mid-Wilshire after two months undercover is a strange experience. Everything feels the same and yet different at the same time. Lucy supposes that makes sense; after all, she’s spent the last two months pretending to be someone she’s not, and now that she’s back she’s finding it difficult to remember how to be herself.
She spots him before he sees her, across the bullpen at a desk with his back to her as he pours over a stack of paperwork. One by one, though, her colleagues become aware of her arrival. An initially scattered applause spreads through the bullpen, and she can see the moment it reaches Tim because he lifts his head and looks around, eyes widening in surprise when they find hers.
The corner of his mouth quirks up slightly and she offers her own small smile of acknowledgment. She’s unsure if it’s because she’s not really herself right now or if it’s just the passage of time, but seeing him doesn’t hurt quite as much.
The debrief takes hours, and it’s not until end of shift that Lucy finally makes her way back into the bullpen. Tim is at his desk once more, eyes fixed on the computer screen this time, but he lifts them to her as she approaches.
“Hey,” she offers tentatively.
“Hey,” he greets, giving her a quick onceover out of habit. “You okay?”
“I think so?” she answers, though it’s more question than answer. Tim tilts his head curiously and she adds, “It’s… weird. Being someone else for that long. I feel like I’m still her.”
He nods in understanding. “Makes sense.”
For a moment neither speaks, but then Tim continues before the awkwardness can creep in. “Heard you took down the entire operation,” he says, and despite the vast chasm of fractured emotion that still lies between them, she can see the pride in his eyes.
“We did,” she replies.
Silence falls again, and Lucy wonders if it will never not be awkward between them.
“You look better,” she offers, an attempt to fill the silence. He’s clean-shaven, eyes clearer and much less haunted than when she left, and as much as she’s missed him, she thinks it may have been for the best that they didn’t have any contact for two months. They both needed to begin to heal, and she doesn’t know how effectively that would’ve happened if they’d had to see each other every day at the station.
“I feel better,” he confirms. “I still have a ways to go, though.”
“You’ll get there.”
“I hope so.”
“Chen.”
Lucy turns at the sound of her name, finds Harper and the lead detective from Narcotics motioning her over. She turns back to Tim. “Sorry, I have to…”
“No, it’s fine,” he assures her quickly. “We can talk another time.”
“Right, okay, yeah,” she stammers, fighting the conflicting desires to maintain a healthy distance between them but also to continue their conversation because it’s been more than two months since she’s seen his face and heard his voice.
“Hey, Lucy?” Tim calls softly as she turns to leave.
“Hmm?” she asks, pausing to toss a glance over her shoulder.
“I’m glad you’re back.”

If you’re in the right state of mind for some angst, I’ve updated by current Chenford fanfic.
Here’s a snippet -
It was while he was scrolling away with a half-smile on his face that Ashley quietly appeared at his door. “Hey,” she said quietly with a lot of hesitation.
He hadn’t realized it had gotten that late and glanced at his watch. “Ash. Hey. You’re early,” he said as he saw that it wasn’t even noon yet.
“Yeah. Sorry. I thought it might take a while to talk about everything, so I decided to come early,” she admitted as she walked to the chair by his bed. “If you need me to go…” she started to say before she sat down.
“No. No. Stay. Please,” he said motioning toward the chair.
“I…” she started and then she looked at her hands again. “I’ve been thinking a lot about… everything. I’m really sorry again that I sprung everything on you all at once yesterday,” she said, still looking at her hands. “I just never wanted to be pregnant, and then you had to have emergency surgery because of an old bullet, and…” She paused for a moment. “I don’t know what I’m trying to say…. It’s just too much.”
“Yeah. Yeah. I agree. I was reeling with everything happening at once and needing to make so many big decisions at one time,” he said. “But I think I’ve made a decision.”
“Really?” she asked, surprised. “Me, too.”
“I think we should keep the pregnancy,” he said.
“I think I should get the abortion,” she said at the exact same time.
They just stared at each other for a moment in shock.
“You really want to get an abortion now?” he asked.
She nodded.
“You’re willing to retire and cut ties with Lucy to keep this baby?”
He nodded.
“Shit.”
“Crap.”
The room was silent again for a few moments as they both were trying to process what was happening.

I’d love to hear what you think. Thanks! 🫶🏻🫣🥰

Awww. Thanks @queseraone for the mention. Now that I’ve had some time to recover from 6x6, I need to get back to writing some more of this intensely fluffy love story.
“I guess we’ll have to wait and see, but I can’t imagine a situation in which I don’t think you’re absolutely gorgeous.” Lucy turned her head just slightly toward him. “Even when I wake up after a sleepless night and my hair looks like a small animal made a nest in it?” “I’m sure I’ll love that bedhead look of yours.  Especially if I was the cause for the sleeplessness.” He whispered the last part into her ear and then started kissing down the column of her neck. Lucy felt a shiver go down her spine. “Okay. What if we’re out on a hike, and I fall into a big mud puddle and tear my pants?” “Still beautiful,” he mumbled into her collar bone as he continued to kiss her. “What if I have a stomach bug, and I’m pale and sweaty and have spent hours bowing to the porcelain throne?” “Then I sit there with you and hold back your hair.  I’ll wash off your face and cool you off with a soft washcloth.  And you’ll still be beautiful.”  He had reached her shoulder and then started kissing back toward her neck. “What if I’ve had a rough day at work, and I come home covered in scrapes and bruises?” “Come home?” he repeated in a whisper right in her ear. “If you’re coming home to me, then I’ll be the luckiest guy in the world.  I’ll kiss every scrape or bruise, and you’ll still be the prettiest woman I’ve ever met.”

Exactly. I love a good deep dive into fan fiction. 🥰🫶🏻
there’s absolutely nothing better than reading a 100k word fanfic, that is until you remember you have a body that is starving, thirsty and incredibly sleep deprived and hasn’t used the bathroom since the sun set 8 hours ago

I love this story. It’s one of my absolute favorites.
But here, even with only one of Tim’s arms holding her close, she knew nothing in the world could hurt her. She was safe in every sense of the word. Safe from harm, safe to dance like an idiot, safe to drink enough to stumble over each step she took if she wanted to. Because she’d be caught every time.

Hi Virginia!
Answer any 3 questions of your choice!
Any 3? Hmmm.
22 - Favorite snack foods
Apples, homemade Chex mix, cashews
27 - Share a joke
Q- What does the janitor say when you open his closet door?
A- Supplies!!
Q - Why did the cookie go to the doctor?
A - He was feeling crumby
Q - What happens when you throw a brown stick in the Red Sea?
A - It splashes.
Hahaha.
28 - Did you ever come back to the thing you wanted to do with you were little?
When I was young, I wanted to be a teacher. I decided I wanted to be a doctor when I was 12, and I never changed my mind. I love my career. It took a LOT of work to get to this point, but I love being able to deliver babies and do surgeries and fix people's problems. It's very satisfying. Aaaand, I do a lot of teaching when I counsel my patients as well as teaching of medical students, NP students, HS students who shadow me, etc. So I guess I still got to be a teacher of a different sort.
Thanks for asking.

4, 7, 8, 13, 18, 26 for the ask game!
Did you just pull random numbers? Some of these are strange questions, but here is goes.
4. What is a language you'd like to learn?
I speak Korean and French pretty well, a little Spanish and a little Japanese and a little German. But I've always wanted to be truly fluent in another language. I've dreamt in French and in Korean, which I considered a mark of greater fluency if my unconscious mind could make sense of another language. But I don't use either of them at this point in my life, so my fluency has waned.
7. Show us some rocks!
Tumblr media
This is an image from Travelocity, but it's from Carmel-by-the-Sea, California where I was a couple weeks ago. This is the famous Pebble Beach tree.
8 - What's your favorite way to eat a potato?
If I'm being healthy, then roasted with olive oil, garlic, and rosemary. If I'm not caring about being healthy, then my grandpa's recipe for cheesy potatoes that probably have more calories than one should consume in a day.
13- Talk about a scent.
Oooookay. I have a favorite flower in my garden called a eternal fragrance daphne. Every evening while it's blooming, it lets out a puff of the most amazing fragrance. It's a very tropical scent - like a plumeria.
18 - Share with us a recipe
Chick-fil-A Nuggets (Copycat) Recipe - Dinner, then Dessert (dinnerthendessert.com)
My kids LOVE these nuggets more than the ones at Chick-Fil-A. I made a batch tonight with 5 lbs of chicken that will feed my family for about 3 other meals this week that we can do quickly before various baseball games and track meets and piano lessons and other practices. Pop 'em in the air fryer and they're perfect again in a few minutes. Put a few on some lettuce with cukes and tomatoes for a yummy salad in a few minutes. It's a winner.
26 - Favorite meme
Tumblr media
I've never understood the idiom 'He's got balls.' Testicles are weak. They can barely be touched without their owner folding in half in pain. You want to know tough? Grow a pair of ovaries, not balls. Ovaries are dang tough.
Thanks for asking.
