***
when the moon fell in love with the sun
all was golden in the sky
all was golden when the day met the night
The moment the sun was created, he knew his job. Begin the day on earth and then bring it to an end. It was simple, as the earth and everything else revolved around him - quite literally. He didn’t really have anything to occupy his time, so he tended to do a lot of thinking.
One of his many questions, perhaps the one he thought about most,
“What happens when I go down? Is it just  . . . darkness?”
He didn’t expect that one day, he would get his answer.
When the sun found the moon
She was drinking tea in the garden
Under the green umbrella trees
In the middle of summer
He had never thought that he would be anything more than a hot ball of fire in the sky. So when a piece of him detached and began to float somewhere new, he was worried.
Would he be able to return to the rest of him to become whole again? Where exactly was he going? To bring light somewhere else?
Not quite.
A voice rings and it startles him as he continues his journey through the universe, just drifting about.
“Who are you? Where are you taking me?”
Don’t be so nervous, Hoseok. There’s someone we want you to meet.
“I- I have so many questions. Who are you? Who am I to meet? Hoseok . . . is that my name?”
We’re everything and nothing all at once; don’t think about it too hard.
He did.
You’ll be okay. Rest assured. We’ll talk again on your trip back.
“Wait! You still haven’t told me-”
Until later, Hoseok. Enjoy your time.
A bright light is suddenly visible, almost seeming to bring a light ache.
He can feel something beneath him, not hard but not too soft either. It was comfortable. Slowly, the light began to dim. He could feel something tickling him, and a sound erupts from him - laughter? Hoseok thinks to himself.
New vocabulary seemed to rest in his head, and he wasn’t sure if he’d be able to use it properly or not. Or even what to use it for.
Over the past few minutes, the brightness in his eyes has completely faded to somehow reveal a pale blue sky with clouds scattered amongst it.
Is this what they see?
He looks down at his surroundings, the amount and vibrancy of colors shocking his eyes open even wider.
The green grass, the multicolored flowers, a fountain flowing ever so softly a few yards in front of his feet. A stone path lay to his right.
Hoseok prays that no one is watching him as he takes his very first steps ever, as it is quite embarrassing, like a colt attempting to stand for the first time. He takes notice that his legs are rather long - how old is this body that he’s inhabiting? He has no real concept of human age, but assumes in the very least that he is in a fully matured form.
He thinks he’s safe once he gets a little more confident in his steps, taking it little by little.
And then he hears the faintest laugh, startling him and he loses balance, landing in the grass on his hands and knees.
“Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry! I really didn’t mean to startle you. I didn’t really think I was capable of doing so . . .”
He wearily looks up to face the owner of the voice, feeling his cheeks heat from his own embarrassment.
When the moon found the sun
He looked like he was barely hanging on
But her eyes saved his life
In the middle of summer
He didn’t really know what to expect, but he surely wasn’t expecting her.
Long silver hair framed her face, matching her set of silver eyes that were glimmering as she looked down at him. Her skin held a glow, not quite like his, but more subtle. Yet it was somehow more eye-catching, the glimmer that spread across her skin catching every ray of his light and reflecting.
“I-uh,” Hoseok shakes his head, finally reaching for her hand,”you don’t have to apologize. It’s just kind of embarrassing is all.”
He pulls himself up with the help of this mystery girl, finally feeling like his legs are his own.
They kind of stand there for a second, hands still touching as they observe each other. However, Hoseok startles out of it first, pulling his hand away.
“Um, I suppose you’re who I’m to meet? I’m Hoseok . . . I guess you may know me as the guy that lights up the Earth and what not.” he tilts his head, wondering if he’ll get recognition.
Her eyes widen like saucers, her mouth dropping open slightly,”You’re the sun? They didn’t tell me I would be meeting you! Oh goodness, I feel so unprepared . . . “ her hands come up to squish her face out of anxiety, and she completely forgets to return the introduction.
“I, uh . . . can I know your name?”
She looks up with a small gasp, her hand coming up to hit her forehead,”I’m sorry, I’m such a space case. No pun intended. I’m y/n, or better known as the one who lights up the night, as you would say.”
Hoseok’s face crinkles in confusion,”There’s someone who lights up the night? But isn’t the night  . . . dark? I mean, that’s what happens when I’m not there, right?”
The moon’s shoulders drop, any excitement previously held from meeting another being gone. Her eyebrows furrow,”Uh, yeah. I don’t really light it up like you do the day . . . it’s more like a night light. When you go down, I come up. The sun’s job is to provide light and warmth, otherwise the Earth would freeze over. And the moon- well, I really don’t know what my purpose is quite yet. I think I can do something to water . . . I don’t know.”
She fiddles with her hands and stares at her feet, and Hoseok feels a pang of guilt hit deep in his chest. Why does she know so much about him, yet he didn’t even know she existed? Another being, in the same solar system - was he that self centered? Absorbed and made ignorant by his own light? So swallowed by his own loneliness that he didn’t even consider the fact that maybe he might not be completely alone?
So he said, "Would it be all right
If we just sat and talked for a little while
If in exchange for your time
I give you this smile?"
 So she said, "That's OK
As long as you can make a promise
Not to break my little heart
Or leave me all alone in the summer."
“Then we can figure it out together, yeah?” He lets his hand float in the air in front of her, hoping the offer was appropriate. His heart beats in anticipation.
She looks up, eyes widening once again,”huh?”
“Why you’re here, your purpose. We can figure it out together,” he flashes her a smile so bright and warm that she almost feels faint, her head going dizzy. Little did she know, she was having the exact same effect on him. “If that’s alright with you, of course?”
She hesitantly grabs his hand, settling for just hooking their pinkies. Her lips form a small smile,”I was just having tea under those trees, over there by the fountain. Would you like to join me?”
He restrained the strong want to smile at her nervousness, which he found strange (only because he’s never experienced it before) but also completely endearing.
She lightly pulled him toward a table with two chairs on opposite sides, nestled between two trees and only a few short steps away from the calm trickling of the fountain. One side of the table was a glimmering silver, the other a sparkling gold, with chairs to match.  It made him chuckle lowly to himself.
He pulled out her seat for her before she could even think about it, a blush forming on her cheeks from the gesture.
He took the seat across from her and watched intently as she poured them each a cup, quietly offering him milk and sugar. He shook his head, regretting it not seconds later when the bitter liquid assaulted his newly formed taste buds, his scowl earning a chuckle from his counterpart.
He suddenly took notice of the detailing on the table. What he assumed to be a moon is carved into his side of the table, and a sun carved on y/n’s side.
“It’s supposed to be representative of a yin-yang symbol, if I remember correctly. A symbol of balance. Light and dark, male and female, day and night.”
Hoseok is quiet for a moment at this revelation before a question eventually bubbles into his head,”Where did you learn all of this? About me, about yin and yang, about tea?”
She giggles, but he’s not offended by him. He didn’t think it was possible, but his heart warms a little bit more at the sound.
“You help me find my purpose, and I’ll teach you about all the things I’ve learned. Deal?” she reaches her hand out over the table, anxiety bubbling in her gut at the thought of rejection. He senses her nerves, and if he had the strength to tell her there's no reason to fear rejection from him, he would.
However, he meets his hand with hers once again as reciprocating the handshake was all he could muster.
“Deal.”
And so their friendship began.
Well he was just hanging around
Then he fell in love
And he didn't know how
But he couldn't get out
Just hanging around
Then he fell in love
“Hoseok, be careful not to over-water the plants! You’ll drown them, silly,” y/n rushes over to where he’s standing in the garden, carefully tipping back the watering can before he turns their flower bed into a river bed.
Hoseok reaches behind his head, awkwardly scratching his neck,”I’m sorry, y/n. The soil was just looking a little dry. I didn’t mean-”
“Hey, sunshine. It’s okay. If those ones would’ve been overwatered, we can always just plant more,” she gives her usual small smile and carefully takes the watering can from him before returning it to the inside of their cottage.
Sunshine, one of her many nicknames for him. The difference with this one is that it always seemed to make his heart skip a beat when it left her mouth.
They had been staying on their little island for about a month and a half now, and they seem to have fallen into a comfortable rhythm of things. Drinking tea together, gardening together, swimming together - there was a small amount of activities that they did separately.
They both knew it was odd, as they were deemed to be polar opposites and honestly shouldn't be getting along so well. But yin-yang rang true, and they balanced each other out perfectly.
The only thing the moon did that annoyed the sun at times was something they call her “dark days”. He tries his hardest to understand it, but it’s difficult to empathize with a feeling you never experience.
Hoseok believes that it’s partially - no, scratch that - he believes it’s completely his fault.
When they first arrived he’d promised her he’d help her find her purpose, the reason she goes up into the sky at night; with a promise of knowledge about the universe in return.
Whilst he has received an immeasurable amount of knowledge thanks to y/n, it seems as if he hasn’t made any progress figuring out what she’s here for. He knows she has a purpose, he is 100% certain and he feels it in every fiber of his being. He just hasn’t figured out what exactly it is yet.
He still feels confused when she shuts herself in her room, and won’t come out for the majority of the day, only revealing herself to grab a glass of water and say goodnight to Hoseok.
And although he hasn’t quite grasped the feeling yet, he knows that it hurts her. He knows this because it’s what he feels on the days he doesn’t see her, the days she locks herself away. He doesn’t understand why it upsets him so much.
Today, luckily for both of them, is a good day. Or at least it started out as one.
As y/n’s eyes flutter open, the scent of something hits her nose. It’s bacon, she thinks - but it just smells a little-
“Oh no,” she practically rolls out of bed, darting into their kitchen to see Hoseok holding a pan of burnt bacon in one hand, the other hand reaching to turn the knob off.
“Y/n! I, uh, I’m sorry. I was trying to make breakfast for us, but ironically I haven’t really gotten a grip on the whole fire thing yet and-”
“Hobi, sunshine, it’s okay,” she walks over, taking the pan from him and pouring the grease into a jar before discarding the burnt bacon into the trash.
“You’re not upset?” he questions. He didn’t want to come off judgemental, but there was a day where y/n found a dried out worm on the pathways and proceeded to cry over it for two hours. If she shed some tears over burnt bacon, it would not have shocked him in the slightest.
“Of course not, you tried your best and that’s all that really matters,” she strokes his cheek slightly to comfort him before returning to make the breakfast he attempted.
He’s shocked by her upbeat demeanor, but he knows better than to look a gift horse in the mouth.
“So, what did you want to do today?” he leans against the counter and watches intently as she places bacon in the pan once more.
“I’m not sure. Maybe go for a walk? It’s cooler out today,” she close-mouthed smiles, knowing that means Hobi was feeling calm today, that most likely nothing was troubling him.
“That’s a great idea! Maybe you’ll find a new flower or berry or something!”
“Always the optimist,” she gives a light sigh as she flips the bacon, almost seeming to go out of focus; something she does quite often, Hoseok has noticed. It was odd, how she’d have this far off look in her eyes and yet still be able to complete whatever task she was working on. Like her body took control as her mind wandered away.
Breakfast continued without a hitch. They ate in relative silence, but it was a comfortable silence. One filled with stolen glances and small smiles.
After cleaning up, they chose a trail to take their walk on. It was one they’d only been down maybe once or twice, which left hoseok hoping y/n could discover something new. Something to distract her for a bit longer as he continues his research to figure out why y/n is here.
Sometimes Hoseok thinks that there’s no particular reason why Y/n is here, and he thinks of ways to explain that it would be okay if she didn’t have a reason, if she were to just be existing. But he plays the conversation in his head and he can see her facial expression after the words leave his mouth and then his stomach drops and then he forgets about even bringing it up to her all together.
“Hoseok?”
y/n calling his name knocks him out of his thoughts, his eyes landing on her small form. He smiles,”let’s go.”
She shakes her head and giggles slightly,”alright. Onward then.”
He gestures for her to walk first, and so she begins their trek down the trail. This one in particular winds through the woods, cuts through a clearing, and then leads down to the river. Even though they’ve only been down this one a small amount of times, and there is probably other trails, y/n thinks this one may be her favorite.
The breeze flutters y/n’s dress and hoseok’s loose white button up as they walk through the woods, the only sound heard being their footsteps and the occasional noise coming from an animal.
“Hobi?”
“Yes, nightlight?”
She hopes he doesn’t see her cheeks turn red.
“I know how you say I think too much and I should probably stop doing that-”
“But?”
She stops for a second, glancing up at him. He notices a second later, pivoting to return her gaze.
She lets out a little breath,”Do you not think about why we’re here? I mean, if it happened to you the same way it did me, a voice came to you and told you that they wanted you to meet someone, and all of a sudden you had a body and then you were here. I was here for a bit before you, and I thought the worst. I had done something wrong and now I was being banished to spend my life, however long that would be, on this island. Alone. And then you showed up . . . and now I’m even more confused.”
He can see her eyes starting to glaze over, and his stomach drops. That was the expression he was trying so hard to avoid seeing. Maybe he hadn’t tried hard enough to find out why she’s here. She was upset all over again and it was his fault.
He takes a step forward,”Y/n, just give me more time-”
“You shouldn’t need more time, Hoseok!” she grabs onto his sleeves, tears starting to flow from her eyes,”The reason why you can’t figure out why I’m supposed to be here is because I don’t need to be! I am unnecessary. You light up the whole earth and bring light and the day, hobi. What do I do? Why did they put me on this cage of an island with you of all beings? So I could feel even worse about myself?”
Her words startle him into speechlessness as he just stares at the tears flowing down her cheeks; he is frozen.
Her hands drop from his sleeves moments later and he still can’t find his voice.
“Just accept that I’m right, Hoseok. I am nothing.” she sighs once more and turns away from him, heading back down the path and toward the cottage.
The word nothing hits him like a bullet, so much force he almost actually stumbles backward. He’s suddenly out of his trance, and he marches forward, gently grabbing her shoulder and spinning her to face him.
“Don’t you dare call yourself nothing ever again. Ever.”
“Why not? It’s true, Ho-”
“I love you! Do you hear me, y/n? I am in love with you. Do you think that if you were nothing, if you meant nothing I would fall for you like I have? Do you know how insulting it is to have you call the thing I love most nothing? That is the last word I would use to describe you.”
“I-I’m sorry. But . . . that still doesn’t explain why I’m here. This isn’t about you, Hoseok. I understand the whole universe revolves around you and everything, but just because you fell in love with me doesn’t mean I have purpose all of a sudden. This doesn’t change anything.”
Her voice shook the whole time and tears kept leaving her eyes, all signs saying she didn’t mean a damn word she was saying - but to the sun, it felt as real as it could.
She walks away once more, and it wasn’t until she was out of his line of vision did he realize his cheeks were wet with hot tears.
One week later
Hollow.
Hollow is how Hoseok feels.
He doesn’t know what to do with himself. He has never felt this in his entire existence before.
Does he talk to her? Plead with the universe to return back to his place in the sky? Lay in his bed for the rest of eternity and wallow in self-pity?
The last one seemed the most appealing.
“You are the sun, Hoseok. The fucking sun for god sakes. And you can’t even manage to convince the girl you love that there’s purpose for her existence. Why isn’t my love for her enough? Why isn’t the way she makes me laugh, the way I get butterflies when I look at her . . . why isn’t that enough? Is this how she feels?”
Hoseok sits up as realization hits him like a freight train. He knows why she’s here. He’s finally figured it out.
***
Light knocks on wood are heard throughout the otherwise silent cottage as Hoseok’s knuckles rap against y/n’s door.
“Please come out. I- I really need to talk to you. I think . . . no, I know now. I figured it out, if you just- y/n? Why haven’t you started yelling at me yet?” slight worry settles in his stomach as he reaches for the doorknob, confusion filling his head as the door opens easily.
The room isn’t a mess as it had been previously, as y/n had a tendency to have her things scattered about. It was almost unsettling how clean and organized everything is. And sitting on her nightstand next to her bed is a folded piece of paper that makes his heart drop.
He hesitates to pick it up, but reluctantly opens it to see that it’s addressed to him.
“Dear Hoseok,
I am sorry. I can no longer bear the weight of having a physical body in which my consciousness resides. They won’t let me return back to my place in the sky where my celestial being is currently, so I must find a way to force them to. I just want you to take one thing away from this, if anything;
This is not your fault. I should not have given you such a big responsibility. It was my journey to embark on and I could not handle it, and I should not have expected you to be able to. Please do not blame yourself for the demise of my mortal body.
Thank you for everything.
Love, y/n”
The letter is crumpled into his fist as hot tears stream down his face. He begins to rip the letter into pieces and notices something.
“The ink is smearing . . . this has just been written  . . . oh no,” he drops the remaining pieces of the letter and dashes out of the cottage. “If I were y/n, where would I go?”
He suddenly feels something wet on his face, and looks up to see a dark sky. It’s always sunny here. What is happening?
“The moon . . . pulls the tides. She’s going to try and drown herself,” hoseok starts running faster than he ever thought possible, trying to make it down to the shoreline in time. Although the island isn’t very large, she could be at any part of the shore.
Hoping that his intuition will take him to the right spot, he just keeps moving.
I have to make it in time. I have to.
Feeling as if his lungs will collapse once he finally reaches the shoreline, he panics as he can’t see her at first. But then he hears her, sobs racking her body.
Most of her body is submerged in the icy water, only visible from her elbows up as she sits in the sand.
He slowly approaches her, going in until the water hits his knees,”Y/n?”
“They won’t l-let me, Hoseok. They won’t let me,” another sob escapes her mouth, her shoulders shaking.
“Won’t let you what, nightlight?” he murmurs so soft he almost thought she couldn’t hear him.
“They won’t let me die!” a deep breath leaves her,”I can’t die. I can’t return to my home. I’m just stuck. Here, watch!”
He reaches out for her as she tries throwing herself in the water,  but she doesn’t even hit the surface before the ocean comes rushing back toward her, standing her upright once again. Hoseok watches in awe.
“It’s yourself, you know. You won’t let yourself die. Because you know that’s not what you’re meant to do.”
“How exactly am I not letting myself die? Is throwing myself into the ocean not convincing enough for you?!” y/n is inches away from his face at this point, irritated at the complete calmness in his eyes.
“I’m sorry, but I was under the impression that it was the moon who controls the tides. I’m not saying you’re doing it on purpose. But deep down, you still think there’s a reason that you’re here. There’s a part of you that wants to live and find out. And I’m here to tell you.”
Y/n perks up at this, although there’s still tears welled in her eyes,”there’s no way you figured it out. You’re just saying that to try and stop me.”
“I don’t think you understand, y/n. Without you, the whole world would fall out of balance. You know of yin and yang, correct? Warm and cold. Light and dark. Day and night?”
“Yeah, I’ve read it all. What is your point here, Hoseok?”
“Love, you bring things that I could never provide. I could never move the tides. I could never shine among the stars like you do. I can never bring comfort during the dark like you. Don’t you understand? Everything shines the brightest when it is darkest. You are loved by so many. I may bring warmth and light. But you bring beauty, comfort, and understanding. Understanding that without the night, we would never cherish the beauty of the dark, and what lies in it. Darling, don’t you see? You are the one everyone truly loves. You bring light in the darkest of times. How can you not see that?”
Y/n looks as if Hoseok had just slapped her in the face, waves of tears making their way down her cheeks freely. She stumbles forward, almost drunkenly and blinded by her tears, and begins weakly beating on his chest.
“H-How can I believe you? I-I just . . . What if you’re just saying this because you love me?” she lets out an exasperated breath, finally looking up into his eyes.
“So what if I am? You don’t think those humans love you almost as much as I do? Or did you just forget everything that I said? That is the whole point, nightlight. Everyone on Earth loves you just as much as I do. You just needed someone else to tell you so that you’d finally believe it.”
Silence sweeps over the both of them as they breathe heavily, exhausted physically and emotionally.
“Look y/n, I-
Hoseok doesn’t get the chance to finish his sentence as the force of her body knocks into his, nearly knocking him over. Relief floods his body as he relaxes into her embrace, the sky growing lighter in time with his heart.
“Hoseok, I’m so sorry I said all of those things to you. I was just so . . . I am so scared,” she sniffles quietly.
He releases himself from y/n, looking down at her with a confused look,”Scared of what?”
“Of loving you. And everything that comes with it. But I, um, I think it’s much too late for that.”
Hoseok’s eyebrows shoot up, a beaming smile coming onto his face,”are you serious? You- you love me? You actually love me back?”
“I think there’s a better term for it, the humans use it to differentiate between platonic and romantic feelings. I don’t just love you, sunshine. I am in love with you.” Her hands come up and rest on his cheeks, his doing the same.
“Uh, I, is this where -”
“Oh my stars, just kiss me already you dork.”
The legend says that the upper beings were so pleased, the sun and moon were allowed to stay on their island together for the rest of eternity.
All was golden in the sky
All was golden when the day met the night.
The End

So, let me guess– you just started a new book, right? And you’re stumped. You have no idea how much an AK47 goes for nowadays. I get ya, cousin. Tough world we live in. A writer’s gotta know, but them NSA hounds are after ya 24/7. I know, cousin, I know. If there was only a way to find out all of this rather edgy information without getting yourself in trouble…
You’re in luck, cousin. I have just the thing for ya.
It’s called Havocscope. It’s got information and prices for all sorts of edgy information. Ever wondered how much cocaine costs by the gram, or how much a kidney sells for, or (worst of all) how much it costs to hire an assassin?
I got your back, cousin. Just head over to Havocscope.
((PS: In case you’re wondering, Havocscope is a database full of information regarding the criminal underworld. The information you will find there has been taken from newspapers and police reports. It’s perfectly legal, no need to worry about the NSA hounds, cousin ;p))

opposites attract // prologue
pairing: werewolf!kim taehyung x vamp!reader
genre: supernatural/fantasy, a n g s t, fluff (eventually), smut (also eventually), enemies to lovers au
word count: 644
prompt: after being turned, your boss and now close friend Yoongi introduces you to an amazing world and even more amazing people - and unfortunately, your new frenemy, kim taehyung.
warnings: blood, violence, angst, bad writing probably, cheesy tropes and situations
author’s note: this was inspired by a fb post of a series of pictures showing the relationship between a werewolf and vampire :) the other boys’ supernatural placements are inspired by what i think represents their personalities l o o s e l y ;’) also most of the way i determine the way supernatural creatures work is inspired from TVD!!!!
Tumblr media
You were turned when you were 22.
All it took was a shortcut down the wrong alley after a shift at the local bar, the next thing you knew you were forced to down some random guys’ blood and your neck was being snapped. Turns out, that random guy was in fact not a being occurring naturally in this world.
Luckily, unbeknownst to you, your boss Yoongi had heard the sound of your neck snapping reverberate off the alley walls - he was having a smoke break before the night shift had commenced - and was there just in time to see the color drain from your face. Unfortunately, whoever had turned you was long gone by the time he had reached your body.
He helped you transition, you later learning that he was a vampire himself, something that made perfect sense once revealed. You never really saw him eat, he always seemed to pick up on things before you did, and was sometimes just a little too fast when it came to - well, when it came to just about anything. He also cleared up some misconceptions about vampires.
It went kind of like this:
“Garlic?”
“Myth.”
“Sunlight?”
“True. Will burn you to a crisp. You need one of these.” He wiggles his fingers and brings attention to a ring adorning the ring finger on his right hand.
“Kind of lame. Uh . . . wooden stakes.”
“Get one of those suckers through the heart and you’re done for.”
“Also lame. Do I need sleep?”
“Nope. You don’t get tired because you don’t have the same need for vitamins and things like that. As long as you drink human blood on the reg, you’ll be good to go.”
“So is animal blood less effective?”
“It’s barely effective. It’ll keep you alive, but that’s about it. You were a human, so you need human blood to sustain your undead form.”
“Hmm . . . wait a minute. If vampires exist-”
As implied, this wasn’t the only aspect he had to explain. Along with the confession of vampires being real came to light the reveal of the entire supernatural world that had been existing just under your nose for the entirety of your 22 years on this earth. It was a lot to get accustomed to - but it’s not like you didn’t have time.
It’s been a month since you’ve turned and according to Yoongi, you’re doing pretty well. It helps that you’ve had him to guide you, otherwise you wouldn’t have been nearly as well off. From helping you control your urges to helping you achieve a stable blood source - he’s been your saving grace.
So far, other than your diet change and newfound abilities (such as speed and strength), not much has changed.
Until Yoongi decided it was time to switch you to night shift.
The night shift is a little more unusual than the day shift. Generally only supernaturals come into the bar (both day and night, something you hadn’t discovered until recently) with the occasional human or two wandering in. This is because Yoongi’s warlock friend, Namjoon, who had also graciously offered to create your daylight ring, had put a sort of cloaking spell on the bar that only the supernatural could see past. For some reason though, there’s always a human or two who can see past it; one of those humans having been you in a desperate search for employment.
So there are a few differences. Type specific blood shots, werewolves with yellow eyes of different shades, fairies with sparkling skin. Music that just feels different.
Along with all the quirks the supernatural bring, you also have had the delight of meeting your boss’ many friends. One of them stood out though - Kim Taehyung.
He’s a werewolf with deep amber eyes and an adorable boxy smile and beautiful dark hair  . . .
And you hate him with all of your being.

________
The initial shock of the flood of memories entering Y/n’s brain has worn off, and her feelings have muted slightly. She sighs as she looks at herself in the bathroom mirror, feelings all her old emotions fighting with her not-existent ones.
Heat rushes to her cheeks, tinging them pink as she suddenly feels embarrassed with how forward she was with them earlier. Yes, she may have known them for many a lifetime, but she has known them none in this one. Despite all her resurfaced memories, it does nothing to make her feel completely comfortable and at ease.
Do they expect her to keep acting as she did when she first woke? She shook her head, they couldn’t expect that much of her. Right?
A sudden knock snaps her out of her thoughts, her head turning to face the door.
“Are you okay, princess? You been in there for a minute,” Hoseok’s bright voice projects through the door.
“Yeah, I’m fine, Hobi! I’ll be out in a minute,” seeming satisfied with your answer, you hear his feet pad away from the doorway along with a small ‘okay’.
A question still not quite answered loops through her mind. Why were those men so adamant on finding them? I know that they’re a gang, but my understanding according to my memories is that currently there was peace among the mafia families at the moment . . . maybe not anymore?
When Y/n appears in front of the boys again, she already feels apprehensive just taking in their loving gazes. She knows she came on too strong when she woke up from her memory flood, but she didn’t mean to. I hope they can underst-
“Are you feeling alright, y/n?” the question rolls off Yoongi’s tongue, and for some reason earns a glare from Namjoon.
“Yoongi. Quit reading her emotions,” he snaps.
“I’m not doing it on purpose, Joon. She’s projecting them. She wants us to know what she’s feeling . . . “ Yoongi and Y/n share a glance, and she nods in order to give him unspoken approval to announce her current state of feelings. “Y/n is nervous. She doesn’t want us to think that everything has suddenly gone back to normal because of the way she showed us affection for a short time after she awoke from her memory flood. Am I correct?”
Y/n giggles,”I remembered that you’re an empath . . . but I wasn’t aware of how much you have honed in your emotional readings in order to determine the circumstances of a situation,” the room goes silent for a moment, Y/n’s speech jarring them slightly. “Ah, I spoke as if I was out of a Dickinson novel again, didn’t I? Ah, it happened again!”
“It’s alright, silly girl. It makes us feel at home,” Hoseok beams.
Her eyebrows furrow,”You all have powers, hm? You all are the children of vampires . . . and witches. Blessing you all with powers most vampires lack. There’s something else . . . I can’t quite put my finger on.”
“Quit working your brain so hard, love. You’ll remember when you remember,” Jimin smiles.
“Well, why can’t you just tell me? I mean, you know exactly what I’m trying to get at. At least Namjoon does,” her head tilts toward him. “He can see inside my mind. So why the hesitance to inform me?”
“Because you never believe us until you actually go through it,” Tae states and rolls his eyes. Why does he have an attitude all of the sudden? Did I do something?
“Tae. You’re making her worry. Drop your act, will you?” Yoongi sneers. “We’re all impatient. No reason to take it out on her.”
He shrinks back,”Sorry, love.”
“It’s okay. I just would prefer knowing because it does in fact have something to do with me, personally . . . like a puzzle piece. Like once I know this one fact, maybe along with some smaller details, everything will click into place.” Y/n shakes her head. “Nevermind that. Lingering on it won’t do. So, Namjoon is a telepath with stronger bias toward reading minds, unlike Hobi, who can blanket someone’s vision and make them see whatever he wants . . . “
They just nod, urging you to continue. They all know that exercises like this helps you to retain your memories.
“Yoongs is an empath, which is why he puts on such a cold front . . . but he always lets me go to him when I’m sad so he can take the burden off of me,” Yoongi’s cheeks warm up, and he ignores looks from the boys. “Jinnie, you’re our healer, a very good one at that. Jiminie . . . you can kill someone with a single touch, if you wanted to. I know you prefer not to use it though, it makes you feel icky.”
Jimin nods in agreement, thinking of the grim feeling that fills him when his touch drags the soul out of a living person’s body.
“Tae-tae, you bring pain or numbness to any being at will. And Kookie . . . oh. You still haven’t developed yours. However, I am optimistic that you will in this lifetime,” Y/n says with a small smile.
She then inhales deeply, then lets out a long breath.
“Sit down, will you, love?” Yoongi mumbles. “I can feel your weariness.”
Y/n nods, sitting down between Yoongi and Jimin. She feels an instant feeling of calm wash over her, and she silently thanks the man to her left.
“You guys have something important going on with the other mafia families, right?” y/n tilts her head, and the boys look at her in confusion.
“Why are you concerning yourself with mafia business?” Tae states bluntly, leaving Y/n taken aback, but she quickly regains composure.
“Ta-” Namjoon tries to interject, but her mouth has already begun to move.
“Oh, maybe because whatever you boys have gotten yourselves into this time has lead to a rather angry, gun waving vampire to clamp his teeth onto my neck, leading to severe blood loss and probably a perpetual fear of stepping into the very club that you own again.”
Silence falls once again, along with Y/n’s composure. I didn’t really mean to come off so harsh, but Taehyung needs a reality check for whatever reason. So I gave him one.
Don’t feel bad, baby girl. He deserved it, Namjoon’s voice quiet in the back of your head.
To everyone’s surprise, an apology spills out of Taehyung’s mouth,”I’m sorry. This happens every time. It’s hard for me to adjust to your presence when you return . . . like my mind can’t accept the fact that you’re back. Like it’s scared to.”
“I get it, Tae. But if I recall correctly, I had a heavy hand in our mafia business in my previous life. I think we’re all very aware of my capabilities when it comes to handling our current problems.”
“Y/n. You may be you, but you’re not ready to dive back in as heavy as you were in before,” Jin hesitates to elaborate, as it’s a very painful memory for them. “Especially when . . . “
“Yes, I know. It led to my death. I remember it like it was yesterday, when vampire hunters were first starting to emerge. If only we had known,” she releases a deep sigh. She almost regrets bringing it up. Y/n knows well that all of them blame every single one of her deaths on themselves. “None of my deaths were ever any of your faults. You guys know that, right?”
“We always have this argument, so let me shorten it. None of us will every stop blaming ourselves for letting you die,” Jungkook speaks for the first time in awhile,”So don’t try and convince us of anything else. Won’t work.”
Y/n scrunches her nose,”Maybe your power is stubborness.”
Jungkook makes a face at her and she giggles, causing a domino effect of laughter to fill the room.
_____________
“So this cult of vampires believes that if they consume any of your blood, that they will suddenly be able to gain supernatural powers because of the witch DNA all of you contain?” Y/n clarifies. Everyone nods. “I mean, I guess I can see why they would think that. But I doubt they have any scientific backing to it. You drink vampire blood and then die, you come back as a vampire. But they have no idea whether or not the witch DNA is even contained in the blood that you have in your bodies. It truly sounds like a conspiracy.”
“The logic doesn’t matter to them. If there’s even a chance that they could become as powerful as Vampire-Witch hybrids, they will take the chance. Or die trying,” Tae snorts at Namjoon’s sentence.
“And die they will,” he elaborates. “But we need to be careful. If they find out -” Jungkook suddenly smacks him in the arm, cutting off whatever he was going to reveal.
Y/n tenses.
“Well, it’s too late now. You guys know she doesn’t like secrets,” Yoongi says from beside her.
“Sorry, Yoongi. I know it must be frustrating to feel my emotions all the time. I know I project them, I don’t mean to,” she sends a small smile.
He just chuckles,”I like feeling your emotions, even the bad ones. It makes me feel close to you.”
Y/n shakes her head,”Alright. What are you guys not telling me?”
“Nothing you don’t already know, princess,” Taehyung responds. “It has to do with when you turn.”
She tries to remember for a moment, she really does. But it’s like there a roadblock. And they all know what will remove it, but it’s too soon. Much too soon.

When Y/n wakes up the next morning, she instantly wishes she hadn’t. Dull pain is throbbing all over her body, making it harder to want to get up.
After getting past the pain, she finally realizes that the bed she’s in doesn’t feel familiar -  at all. There’s too many pillows, the blankets are too soft, and it’s much too large.
What am I? Fucking Goldilocks? She shakes her head and observes her surroundings, coming to a conclusion that she is in fact in someone else’s bedroom, in someone else’s house.
Queue panicking.
She slips out of the bed, her feet landing soundlessly onto the carpet placed next to it. She feels something soft flowing around her knees, and only now has she paid any attention to what she’s wearing.
A black, lace-embroidered, silk nightgown.
“This is definitely not what I was wearing last night,” At the thought of last night, a sudden wave of memories flooded her brain, causing her to close her eyes in pain as she remembers the events of the previous evening.
A sudden knocking at the door stops her train of thought, her eyes suddenly snapping up to look in the direction of where the sound originated from.
Y/n stands frozen, not sure if it would be the best idea to answer. Although she does remember feeling safe with whoever got her out of the club, she still feels uneasy.
“Hey, are you awake, princess? You missed breakfast this morning,” a soft voice comes from the other side. A few beats of silence passes,”I’m going to come in, okay?”
Y/n’s breath hitches, as she has no choice but to face whoever is about to walk in the door. She watches as the knob turns, the door pushing open slowly. When his eyes land on her, she looks like a deer caught in the headlights.
Another wave of memories enters her brain, though these ones don’t seem familiar. They cause pain as they flash through her mind, causing her to fall to her knees as she clutches her head.
The man’s eyes widen at the sight, rushing toward her,”Y/n? Are you okay?” His hands hesitate to touch her, as she still doesn’t really know them . . . yet.
“I, uh,” she raises her eyes and meets with his again. Her eyebrows furrow,”Jimin?”
A smile breaks out on his face in an instant,”Yeah, princess? Do you remember?”
“Only bits and pieces . . . I’m still very confused. I remember your faces, and your names . . . and I remember being happy. But not for very long,” something flashes across Jimin’s face; sadness, maybe. A tear leaves Y/n’s eye, and Jimin wipes it before she even notices it fell.
“That’s a good sign that you remember me. I think this time we’ll be happy for a long time. As soon as you get all your memories back,” he takes her hand in his, and she doesn’t pull away. And he feels cold.
Cold like the arm wrapped around her neck the previous night.
Her eyes go wide,”Jimin . . . what happened last night? Is what I remember true? Or at least what I think I remember?”
“You’ll have to specify a bit, princess.”
“That man bit my neck and drank my blood. He called me a human,” he  begins to open his mouth, but then closes it again. Y/n begins to shake slightly,”Please don’t lie to me, Jimin. With all these new memories and what happened at the club last night- oh god,” her hand flies to cover her mouth,
“What is it?” Jimin leans closer, trying to figure out what has her so startled.
“Mina,” tears well up in Y/n’s eyes,”I never texted her to make sure she got out, oh god- where’s my phone?”
Jimin points in the direction of the nightstand and she’s up in a second, dashing to grab her device.
She picks it up with shaky hands, clicking on Mina’s contact.
“Pick up, pick up, pick up!”
Ring.
Ring.
Ring.
“Y/n? Where the hell are you? Did you get out of the club? Are you okay?” the biggest sigh of relief leaves her mouth, smiling in revelation that her friend is okay.
“Yes, I’m fine. I met an old friend at the club last night and he helped me get out. I’m so glad you’re safe,” Y/n walks over and sits across from Jimin as she continues her conversation, not quite wanting him to leave yet.
“Yeah, no shit. What was that? I knew some high profile people clubbed there but holy fuck.”
“I don’t know, the guys with the guns were,” y/n spots Jimin’s apprehensive gaze, causing her to end her sentence. “Mina, I’ll see you soon. I have to, uh, take care of something.”
“Um, alright. Love you, I guess I’ll see you later.”
She hangs up, looking back at the male across from her,”They were looking for you. Why were they looking for you? And he said you had a morality code against harming innocent humans? What the hell does that mean?”
He stays silent for a moment, contemplating.
“I think you need to see-”
“Namjoon. He can help, right?” Y/n cuts him off. “That’s what my few memories of you tell me, anyway.”
“You would be correct, princess. I’m sure you have a lot of questions, and he is much better at explaining than the rest of us when it comes to this situation, as we’ve learned,” he sends a small smile, standing up and extending a hand out to her.
She takes it, pulling herself up, and unexpectedly close to Jimin’s face. On instinct, she gives him a kiss on the cheek.
“Thank you. For getting me out of there. I’m not really sure why you seem to care for me so much, though I’m sure it’ll come back to me eventually.” Y/n does a double take at her own words, taken aback at the formalness of them. “That was weird.”
Jimin just chuckles slightly, making her eyeball him.
“Wait, you said you guys learned that he’s the best at it. Does that mean-”
He grabs her by the shoulders and steers her toward the door,”Ah ah ah, save your questions for Joonie. I am not qualified,” this time, y/n is the one to laugh.
***
“A vampire. You are telling me that a-”
“Yes, love. A vampire. As we have told you before-”
“A fucking vampire. You’ve gotta be shitting me,” Y/n huffs and crosses her arms, leaning back into the chair. “The audacity! Just drinking my blood like that.”
The boys and Y/n are all currently sat in the living room, trying to answer all the questions they can. They haven’t got very far.
“Well, she hasn’t changed,” Yoongi remarks and the others stifle a laugh.
She suddenly stands up,”And another thing!”
“Oh, here we go again,” Tae leans his face into his hands,”You’d think after doing this like, four times she’d remember quicker.”
Y/n’s head snaps to his direction,”Listen, Tae-Tae! My brain is in fact a brain, not a computer. It needs time. It doesn’t just instantly download all of my past memories and feelings.”
The room goes silent for a moment, and Y/n is washed with confusion upon their silence. She raises an eyebrow at them, beckoning an explanation.
“You called me Tae-Tae.” Y/n’s face drops at Taehyung’s reminencint expression,”You used to call me that all the time.”
Namjoon’s voice suddenly grabs all of the attention in the room,”Y/n, there’s something else you should know and that might help in regaining your lost memories from all of your past lives.”
“Wait, let me guess. All of you are also vampires.” Y/n giggles a little, but is stunned when met with another round of silence. “No way, I was right?”
“Yes, but there’s something else . . . “ Namjoon trails off.
“Well?” Y/n crosses her arms once again.
Namjoon hesitates, but Yoongi doesn’t.
“You were one too, babygirl. A long time ago,” yoongi smiles slightly, hoping to put you at ease.
Although his smile is charming, it does nothing to stop a third wave of memories from entering your brain for a third time since the morning.
Y/n collapses once again, and the boys are surrounding her in a flash.
“Don’t interfere,” Namjoon warns,”It could interrupt the process.”
Y/n is on her back, gasping as the most painful wave of memories she’s had yet plant themselves in her mind.
“It’s so hot, why is it so hot?” Her eyes are clenched shut, no longer aware of her current surroundings,”Where are they? Why aren’t they here? I’ll find you all again, I promise, I swear!”
“Take me, but please don’t take them. Please.”
Although the boys have seen this many times, each time hits them just as hard. They’re leaning on each other for support, tears flowing freely from some of their eyes.
Y/n goes completely still, her face serene as she loses consciousness for a mere moment.
The boys fall silent as they wait for her to open her eyes once again.
Jin sighs,”How long?”
“Not sure, could be-”
Namjoon’s sentence never leaves his mouth as Y/n wakes up once more, moving quickly into a sitting position.
She looks around slowly, carefully taking in the boys, as if for the first time. “Please don’t let me die this time. I don’t think I can do it again.”
A few tears leave her eyes, and sadness takes hold in the boy’s hearts for a moment.
“Princess, we never meant to let you die so many times. It hurt so much. We always get scared we won’t find you again,” jimin’s lip quivers as he speaks, pain striking in his chest. “We’ll try so hard this time around, I promise.”
Y/n nods,”You have to turn me, right? To make sure the natural deaths of a human can’t happen to me, right?”
Hoseok chuckles through his tears,”this happens every time, sweet girl. You remember us but you haven’t made any new memories yet in this life. You still don’t quite know us.”
“You’re right, I’m sorry. It’s just all those memories brought emotions with them and it feels like I’ve known you forever . . . “
A hand suddenly comes up and cups Y/n’s cheek, and she looks up to face Jungkook. “It’s because you have, my love.”
This brings instant warmth to her heart and her face, causing her to hide in Jungkook’s shoulder.
“You always try and make me blush for no reason, Kookie. Think you could stop doing that this time around?” the other’s laugh at her antics.
Y/n feels Kook shaking his head,”not in a million years, love.”
“Well, fuck.”
They all break out in obnoxious laughter at her jab at their abnormally long lifespans, silently hoping that this would be the last time they would have to go through this again.

Intro 1
Although Y/n and Mina arrive to the club almost right as it opens, there’s already a long line wrapping around the corner of the building. They can feel the excitement buzzing in the air and can faintly seen the glow of the warm lights surrounding the entrance from where they’re standing.
Mina lightly punches y/n in the arm,”See! I told you we should have left earlier. I wasn’t exaggerating when I said that this is the most popular club in Seoul. It’s gonna be forever before we get in.”
Y/n scrunches her nose,”I mean, the line is actually moving along kinda fast. I’m sure it won’t be that long.” As they are moving along with the line, a thought suddenly occurs to her. “Mina . . . “
“Yes, sugarplum?” she replies and bats her eyes toward y/n, already sensing the question in her voice.
Shifting onto one foot and crossing her arms, she raises a brow at her best friend,”We wouldn’t have to be, oh, I don’t know . . . on some sort of list to get in . . . right? That’s not the reason why the line is moving so quickly, is it?”
All the heat in Mina’s body rushes to her cheeks, her face consequently turning beet red. Y/n lets out a small sigh at the revelation, slightly frustrated. But, after all, she didn’t even want to go out in the first place, so maybe this will actually work in her favor.
“How exactly did you think we were going to get in? You thought because we’re dressed like we’re supposed to be here, the bouncers will think we are?” Y/n giggles. “Like our temporary hotness will make our names magically appear on the list?”
Mina just shrugs, a small smile on her face,”I mean, kind of. We never do anything! Well, you never do anything.” she ignores the fake look of hurt on your face and continues,”So what if we don’t get in? We’ll go down the street to the bar and get wasted. Win-win!”
Maybe for you, y/n thinks.
“Yeah, whatever,” Y/n just sighs and shakes her head at her friend’s antics. Maybe if she were one of those people who took everything seriously (kind of like how she was before she met Mina), she’d be mad she didn’t get to finish binging whatever series she had hopped onto this week. All things considered, the night will probably be filled with memories of her and her bestie just enjoying themselves. Win-win, I suppose.
A sudden noise of a throat being cleared whooshes Y/n’s thoughts out of her head, and a sudden anxiety fills her chest. Worst case scenario, they tell us to get lost. I can handle that.
Right?
“I, uh, can’t seem to find your names on the list. Are you sure you were invited to tonight’s event?” the bouncer eyes them suspiciously.
Mina bounces up and down with a little bit too much enthusiasm,”Of course. There’s no way I would have gotten in a line this long if I wasn’t positive that my name was on the list.”
“Right, well . . . they must have forgot to put your names on here then. I’m sure it won’t be that big of a deal.  You two ladies be safe and have fun tonight,” he shoots them a smile Y/n’s jaw about hits the concrete.
“C’mon, y/n/n!” and before she knew it, she’s thrust through the club doors by an over-eager Mina.
***
The sight before them almost stuns them into silence. Almost.
“Ho-ly shit, y/n. This place is fuckin ridiculous!” the both of them gape at the luxurious yet sexy aura of the club, and y/n is suddenly glad she let Mina play dress up tonight. The ensemble she previously picked out would simply not have cut it.
The whole room is dark, save for the dim and exquisite chandeliers adorning the high ceiling. The dance floor is somehow elegant and heated at the same time, the bodies on the dance floor almost inviting you in. Sleek black tables were sprinkled throughout the venue with beautiful centerpieces, people casually surrounding them and drinking to their heart’s content. There was just something y/n couldn’t quite put her finger on-
“Everyone here is so-”
“Beautiful,” she finishes Mina’s sentence for her, finally coming to realization with what was bugging her. Every single person here was breathtaking; ethereal, almost. It puts y/n in a daze if she looked at one of them for too long.
“Why does it feel like I’m on drugs when I haven’t even taken any yet?” her best friend questions, only resulting in a throaty giggle erupting from her mouth.
“Better question is, why haven’t we taken any yet?”
And with that, Y/n and Mina sauntered toward the bar, completely unaware of the small crowd of eyes following them.
***
“Fuck, good thing I had some money put away for occasions like this,” Y/n’s eyes widen at the prices at the bar, hoping that being a lightweight would actually come in handy at a time like this.”Some of these drinks are like, half our rent.”
“Yeah, well. When in Rome,” Mina replies and downs a shot of tequila. “Alright, we can come back for more shots later. Right now, you have to be sober enough to dance with me.”
Y/n instantly makes a face at the prospect of dancing, hoping on the low that she wouldn’t be forced to dance. Of course, her hopes are crushed as Mina drags her towards the dance floor, hand in hand.
It was just like dancing at any other club, and once you find the right person, you can dance the night away.
Y/n thought that this may be a little harder for her, as she doesn’t go out dancing very often. But, surprisingly, it was easy to find an attractive man who fit with her pace.
Things get slightly heated as the music intensifies, and they begin grinding and grabbing all over each other. Y/n can’t tell how long she’s been on the dance floor, but she doesn’t care. She can’t feel anything other than the man pressed against her, and that’s all she cares about.
She’s now facing him, and realizes he’s just as beautiful - if not more - as everyone else in the club. Y/n is almost completely lost in him -
Suddenly gunshots ring through the air, making everyone duck instantly. Some of the more high profile people are escorted out instantly, leaving everyone else to wander in panic.
Y/n has lost sight of Mina and the man she was dancing with previously, which makes her heart race. Everyone is in a frenzy trying to get out of the club when more gunshots ring out, causing even more panic. In an attempt to find somewhere remotely safe, y/n gets knocked over into one of the tables, causing her to gasp in pain when the edge contacts her ribs.
The wind was knocked out of her and so she has no choice but to hide herself under the table as the crowd continues to thin.
Once the number of people have gone down exponentially, she finally gets up in an attempt to exit the club. However, she hears loud and demanding voices as she nears the exit and peers around one of the booths to get a better look.
“No one else is fucking leaving this club until you fuckers come out of your hiding place! Yes, I know you’re here. I can sense you,” y/n’s breath catches in her throat as she eyes multiple men clad in black, waving guns around like they’re toy lightsabers and not life-threatening weapons.
They continue to block the exit, but a couple of them break off and walk through the groups of people still left, and then one of them stops suddenly.
“Boss, do you smell that?” one of them turns back to the man guarding the exit. “Is that a-”
“Human.”
Y/n’s eyebrows knit in confusion, what the fuck do they mean by that? They must be really cracked the fuck out.
“Find the human. Their morality code would prevent an innocent human from being slaughtered.”
Y/n instantly ducks back around the booth and slides under the table, doing her best to steady her breathing. She is still very confused about what exactly they mean by human, supernatural creatures do not exist. Why would they refer to me as  . . . human?
She shakes her head vigorously, reminding herself that they’re just some druggies on hallucinogens experiencing group hysteria. Right?
The table is suddenly lifted from its very spot, causing y/n to look up at the person responsible - one of the gun wielding men.
“Found you.”
A scream erupts from her throat as he lunges for her, trying desperately to evade his attack. As expected, the evasion fails and she’s suddenly caught with an arm wrapped around her neck, the cool barrel of a gun pressed to her temple.
“Oh, no. This won’t do. Simply shooting a poor, innocent human won’t provoke them enough to reveal themselves. I think I’d like to have a taste,” y/n’s eyes widen in fear and confusion as his arm retreats from her throat.
Time stand still for a moment- that is until a searing pain erupts from the side of her neck, causing her knees to wobble slightly until she’s held in place by the man once again.
A sudden wave of nausea rolls over y/n, her eyes almost lolling into the back of her head. A warm sensation travels down the skin around her neck amidst the pain, is- is he drinking my blood?
Y/n can feel her body start to go limp, arms dropping down to her sides.
Then everything happens in a flash.
The man is ripped from her neck, causing her to cry out in pain once again, all whilst being swept into the arms of another. She hears sickening ripping sounds, and attempts to look behind her, but the man currently embracing her prevents her from doing so.
“Love, you don’t want to see what they’re doing,” she responds to his gentle voice and pet name with a look of confusion, and the pink haired man chuckles,”I wish we could have met under different circumstances, beautiful. Although, I suppose the important thing is that we found each other at all.”
A sudden warmth floods throughout her chest, as if she’s heard these words before. They are familiar and comforting, and for some reason she knows these words bear happiness and safety.
“I know you don’t remember me yet, but you will, my love. You’ll remember everything,” the man suddenly looks up at a rather loud noise, and his eyes crease with worry. “I’m going to get you out of here, okay?”
All y/n can do is nod weakly as the man stands up with her in his arms with ease and begins walking in an unknown direction. Everything is suddenly quiet, and y/n is fading in and out of consciousness.
“Is that-”
“Oh god.”
“How come we couldn’t feel her?”
“Has she been in Seoul this whole lifetime?”
“Something is wrong. We need-”
“What you all need to do is shut up! We need to get her back to the mansion, now. She’s lost enough blood already. I know it’s bothersome to all of you that we couldn’t feel her presence, but we can discuss that once we know she’s stable.”
Y/n hears light footsteps coming toward her.
“Our poor princess. The universe always gives her such unjust treatment.”
She feels a soft kiss planted on her forehead . . .
And then nothing.

Intro 1
She awoke with a start and it was warm. Too warm.
Her hair was stuck to her forehead because of the layer of sweat slick on her body.
She turned toward her window and realized how bright it was outside, too bright for the middle of the night. The abnormal orange glow made her stomach turn.
Realization hit her like truck when she discovered the light was coming from the flames licking against her window.
Panic arose in her chest in an instant, causing her to spring out of bed and toward her front door.
Fear struck again when she went to open her door but only ended up retreating her hand because of the heated metal.
The bathroom window is my last chance, she thought to herself.
Dashing into her bathroom her heart plummeted in her chest when she saw flames have already enveloped the window and the fire was beginning to burn through the wood and catch.
She quickly realized she must accept her fate. She knew that this day could always be on the horizon - and now it was here.
She glanced up as if to look at the sky, and spoke a prayer out loud,”Take me, universe. But please, leave them. I know it will hurt them for a time when they find that I have perished, but it will be a small time compared to how long they will thrive on this earth. I am forsaken because I chose this path, they did not.”
A beat of silence endured and the fire crackled, the heat intensifying as the flames began to close in on her.
“Just know, universe . . .  when I come back in another life . . . We will find each other. Again and again. That is one thing I have faith in.”
She glanced to her kitchen, which had not yet been engulfed. Taking a deep breath, she walked over to the drawers and pulled one out to reveal an array of wooden stakes.
I’ll be damned if I let human cultivated flames be the thing that ends my time on this planet, she renounced to herself. I will be my own undoing.
She lifted up the stake with her hands wrapped around it, the sharpened tip pointed at her chest.
She felt flames licking at her calves and more shouts coming from outside. Her heart hurt as she recognized the voices of her lovers, returned too late to bring her salvation.
Her eyes closed as she tried to ignore the sounds of death being brought upon her persecutors and muttered her last words.
“I’ve loved you all in this life, and will love you all in my next reincarnations.”
Then the stake went through her chest.
Y/n awakes with a start, sweat making her hair cling to her forehead in uncanny similarity to her vivid dream.
She sits up slowly, still in the midst of processing what exactly she just dreamt about.
“What the fuck,” y/n mumbles as her internal body temperature finally begins to cool down after throwing the comforter to the floor.
She reaches over to her nightstand for her phone, seeing that it’s already early afternoon. Thankfully, it’s Saturday, her only task-less day of the week.
Although, she ponders, it wouldn’t hurt to catch up on some cleaning and laundry.
The rest of her Saturday afternoon leads as normal, finally getting caught up on some random chores that have been on hold due to keeping up with college classes and working to afford said college classes.
Her Saturday evening probably could have panned out normal as well, watching some random flick on Netflix with popcorn as a snack and maybe a friend or two.
But it just so happens that one of her couple of friends felt like going out for drinks at a notorious club in Seoul - Y/n didn’t know anything about that quite yet - using the very persuasive reason of hun, I’m aware you’re an introvert. Very. But you need to treat yourself! All you do is work and study. I know it’s not your style, but just this once.
Y/n is aware of how painfully cliche this sounds but, miraculously, to both their surprise, she says yes.
She says yes to unknowingly attending one of the most highly populated clubs - most of that population being various gangs in Seoul.
They didn’t know it, but y/n and y/f/n were in for one hell of a night.
