Big Brother | Neteyam Pt. 3
pairing: Brother!Neteyam x Sister!Reader w/c: 472 notes: i loved this idea so much!!! but im in like a major writers block rn so i couldnt chalk out much but i like how it came out almost as a 'snippet' of their lives <333 i hope you guys enjoy this one and expect more soon!!
You were a clumsy child. Running around with Tuk and Lo’ak earns you a few cuts and bruises — and a light scolding from your parents. You were clumsy enough that overtime, your parents stopped getting so worried about your little injuries from your adventures and took them as a marker of good time. All except one person.
You were running around one day, chasing after Neteyam when you tripped over the large root of a tree. A gasp left your mouth as you fell over, your arms too slow to catch your fall. You crumple on the ground, a small whimper coming from you.
Neteyam turns around at the sudden stop of our giggles, and he spots you on the ground.
“What happened baby girl?” Neteyam ushered towards you. You say nothing as tears brim your wide eyes. Despite you getting all kinds of hurt on a daily basis, Neteyam still feels his chest tighten at your hurt state.
“I tripped on the branch,” You sniffled, wiping your nose with your arm.
“Okay,” Neteyam sighs as he lifts you up by your underarms, placing you on your feet. “I think it’s time we go home lady bug.”
“But it hurts Neteyam,” You whine softly, pointing at your knee.
“Yeah, okay, lets see the damage,” Your older brother lowers himself onto his knees. He lifts your left arm, his fingers dancing up your torso, towards your underarm in feign of checking for any cuts. You let out a giggle, pulling your arm down to protect yourself. Neteyam hums and repeats this on your other side, garnering more laughs from you.
“Hmm, I think there’s something wrong, right here!” Neteyam sing-songs, bringing his fingers to wiggle underneath your arms, you let out a squeal, curling in towards yourself. Your older brother continues his attacks, forcing his fingers onto your torso despite the attempts of your little hands to push him away.
Soon enough you were in a fit of giggles, no longer able to stave off your brother. Neteam relishes in your laughs, a grin growing on his face as your giggles grow louder. You fall into him, unable to keep yourself standing, and only then does Neteyam stop tickling you. You’re laying across his thigh, breathless.
“Why did you do that to me!” You complained, your voice still airy, despite this, the grin on your face was wide.
“So that you would not cry,” Neteyam laughs, “It worked, did it not?” You hum and roll over, letting yourself fall onto the lush grass.
Neteyam lets out another chuckle before he picks you up, tossing you over his shoulder. “Hey! Let me down!” You yell, lightly pounding on his back.
Neteyam pays no mind and begins his walk back to the hometree, and let’s just say you arrive home peacefully asleep in his arms.

The pressure on Neteyam’s shoulders makes him tense.
He’d been thrown task after task, whiplash impending as villagers and clanspeople called his name left and right for assistance with responsibilities both great and menial.
It was a day he cleared to spend time alone, too immersed in playing the threads that held the clan together. But from morning eclipse to now, as the forest is shrouding in darkness, the duty of being a diligent leader-in-training weighs heavy like an anchor.
He breathes a sigh of relief when he finally settles near a stream, feet in the water as he leans back on both hands and basks in the natural soundscape of the abundant jungle.
It’s short-lived though, his eyes closing in defeat when he hears someone calling his name.
“Neteyam?” It’s you, his lover, his star that shines so bright. “Teyam?”
He stills, hoping the quiet rush of the stream’s waters will blanket his breathing.
You come poking out of the brush anyways, excited when you see your partner for the first time since last night’s eclipse.
You kneel behind him, arms coming around his neck as you lean over his shoulder and start planting kisses against his cheek and jaw.
“Missed you,” you admit, pressing your face again his. “Today was so exciting, you won’t believe what…”
He’s tuning you out, a heavy sigh blowing past his lips as your voice projects and seems to fill the space. You chatter, and you chatter, and you chatter a mile a minute as you rehash your entire day.
You’re only excited, still caught up in the throes of your extended honeymoon phase, but Neteyam, quite frankly, is fed up.
“For once just stop,” he says sharply, and your babbling dies down.
“Hm?” you hum, hand coming to tuck one of his braids behind his ear.
“Just stop talking, please,” he says firmly. “You’re being noisy and I just want a single moment of peace.”
Your hold around his neck loosens and he lets out another deep sigh when he feels you settle behind him, opting to brush your fingers across the upper expanse of his back. You’re trying to work out the knots in his shoulders, but he’s grabbing your hand to stop you.
“Alone,” he reiterates.
He doesn’t see the way your face falls, the way a flutter of insecurity shutters over your softened expression. He just feels you withdraw, fingers slipping from his grasp as the grass rustles and you stand to your feet.
He expects you to bid him a farewell, but by the time he’s craning his neck over his shoulder, you’re disappearing back into the brush where you came from.
Tumblr media
Neteyam seems to sleep the weariness off, that much is clear when he takes a seat next to you the following morning for the first meal and kisses your temple. It sits with you, though, that gutting feeling that maybe Neteyam has underlying feelings that you overlook.
“Sleep okay?” he asks you, flashing you a small smile as he brushes loose hair over your shoulder to see your profile better.
You nod despite the lie. Truthfully you had barely slept at all, wracking your brain for signs you missed, moments you spent being overbearing. It still haunts you now as you pick through the fruits and grains on your plate, focusing extra hard.
“The next batch of warriors will be attempting their rite soon,” he says, biting into a chunk of dried meat. “After everything is said and done…”
You can’t help but wonder if he’s always felt that way. If every moment with you drains him and he’s just good at keeping up the facade.
“My love?” Neteyam calls gently, pulling you from your trance.
You look up at him with wide eyes.
“Yes?” Your voice cracks, hoarse as you clear your throat.
His brow bone twitches as he seems to search your face.
“Everything alright?”
You nod again.
“Yeah,” you affirm. “All good.”
But things are not all good, Neteyam comes to realize after a few lonely eclipses. You hadn’t met him at your spot near the waterfalls for evening swims and as he kicks stones on the way back to the camp, he tries to fit the pieces of the puzzle together.
When it hits him, he feels so stupid, freezing in the middle of the buzzing forest.
“Oh, ________,” he whispers to himself, padding quickly through the grass.
It isn’t hard to find you, reclined in a hammock, reading a book some of the lab guys had lent to the village for practice.
As he closes in on you, things seem fine, but he knows better. He knows his sweet girl better than to leave things unsaid.
You finally look up when your hammock begins to sway with Neteyam’s gradual weight. When he settles in across from you, pulling your smooth legs over his, he speaks.
“Where have you been, my love?” he tests, fingers absently toying with the threads fastened around your ankle.
“Here,” you say simply, turning your attention back to the book to flip the page.
“You didn’t meet me at the waterfall,” he presses, fingertips skimming over your calves.
“There were many tasks in the village today,” you reply. “I wanted to rest.”
A prolonged silence envelops you as you continue reading, leaving Neteyam to filter through his thoughts.
“Can we talk?” he asks, delicately pulling the book from your grasp to draw your attention.
You blink at him with round eyes and his heart squeezes in his chest. How could he say something like that to someone like you, always so tender and gentle.
“I want to apologize,” he says, leaning forward to capture your hands in his. “About that night near the stream.”
Your expression doesn’t falter, you just continue to watch him quietly as he mulls over the words.
“I was really overwhelmed and I took it out on you,” he says, thumb brushing over azure skin.
“S’okay,” you say softly, smiling at him lightly. “I’m sorry for being annoying.”
Neteyam’s gaze softens.
“You could never be annoying,” he says, hand coming up to stroke your cheek. “I like when you’re happy and you tell me about your day. I like being with you.”
He’s pulling you into him so that you rest on his chest, hand coming up to smooth the hair on the back of your head.
Neteyam doesn’t notice that the smile doesn’t quite reach your eyes as his voice rumbles in his chest.
Tumblr media
You had him fooled for a while, that things were okay between the two of you, but Neteyam was learning to read you. Knew your little tics and nuances.
You wanted to shake that night, wanted to fall into him again, but it was like an itch that couldn’t be scratched, an ache that couldn’t be soothed.
You were so in your head that you hadn’t even realized that others were starting to notice, too. Murmurs that there could be trouble in paradise.
You were starting to read more, blowing through the books in the lab. Anything to take your mind off the burn. You were too busy trying to preserve the peace, of trying to find comfort in your own, that you don’t notice that Neteyam is growing restless.
It’s another missed meet up when he finally decides that enough is enough.
When he doesn’t find you in your hammock, his brows furrow, shaky breath blowing past his lips.
The village hasn’t seen much of you either if his unanswered inquiries are anything to go by. So he follows his gut, searching the ins and outs of the camp for you. Every empty space is added stress, but he tries one last place.
And of course you’d be there, the place that started it all, fingers skimming the surface of the water as you watch the creatures in the water swim happily.
“My love,” Neteyam says quietly.
You ministrations on the water ceases.
“Hm?” you hum, eyes still glued to a particularly luminescent fish.
“Look at me.”
You don’t realize how close he’s gotten until you hear him right behind you. When you turn your gaze skywards to meet his eyes, you see the worry etched into his features.
“Are you alright?” you ask, standing to your feet.
“I should be asking you,” he replies, hands cupping each side of your neck to coax you to look up at him.
“I’m fine,” you assure him, unable to meet his gaze.
“________,” he urges.
At the sound of your full name, you melt like putty in his hands, eyes squeezing shut in embarrassment.
“It’s stupid,” you whisper.
“Talk to me,” he implores.
You look like you’re chewing on the words, like they want to come out but you’re wrestling with them. When his thumb brushes your jaw like a silent okay, you crumble.
“Just wanted to give you space,” you mumble.
Neteyam looks wounded.
“Why would you–“
“You have many duties to the clan,” you reason quietly “I don’t want to add to it.”
“Is this about what I said the other night?” he asks fearfully.
Your silence is answer enough and he crushes you in his arms like you’ll float away. Something tingles in your nose, like you could cry, so you push your face into the smooth planes of his chest.
“I was being thoughtless,” he says, voice like a roll of thunder behind his ribcage. “You are the highlight of my days, my first and last thought, do you hear me?”
You mumble something and Neteyam nudges you away gently so that he can look into your eyes.
“I wouldn’t trade you, change you, for anything,” he says. “Mark my words.”
You nod, but the gesture is not enough.
“Are we understood, my love?” he iterates.
A smile plays at your lips as you nod again.
“Understood.”

YOUNGEST SULLY
Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary the youngest daughter and sibling is just two years younger than tuk and she is so adorable. just how the sully family treats her.
pairing sully! reader x platonic! sully family
note reader uses she/her pronouns
Tumblr media
neteyam was just ten years old when you were born
on a random day like any other day, you started crying in the middle of the night.
surprisingly, he was the only one who woke up from your ear splitting cries and he had to do something before you woke up everyone in the forest
call it brotherly instincts cause he handled it perfectly well
neteyam sturred in his position, his ears twitching at the familiar cries. he pushed himself to sit up as he rubbed his eyes gently. it was way too early compared to his normal waking time, but he couldn't bring himself to be annoyed at you because you're just a baby. and he learned from his dad that each and one of his siblings were like that too when lo'ak complained about how noisy you were.
he rushed up quickly and knelt down in front of you. his mother was completely asleep right next to you. he pondered why, in contrast to other times, she had been unable to wake up to the sound of your cries. nonetheless, he eventually concluded that she was exhausted from her restless nights. his father, too, has been occupied with his olo'eyktan responsibilities and raising five children.
it was his turn now as the eldest sibling to take care of you, he thinks.
carefully, neteyam embraced you in his arms. he had only ever carried you under his mother's watch once, but he recalled every piece of advice she had given him. make sure you support her head and rock her gently.
your sobbing subsided when you saw your brother and were replaced by whimpers and sniffles only. to avoid disturbing his parents, he took a seat on the corner of his home.
"are you okay now?" he asked softly. neteyam observed your eyes that were still swelled with tears, your bottom lip pushed into a pout. he giggled at the sight. "i guess you are since you're not crying anymore."
your chubby small hand reached for his nose and he scrunched them under your touch. immediately, you retracted your hand with a giggle thinking that it's like a loreyu.
your father, jake, had showed you one as he brought you around the forest. and that plant is your favorite.
neteyam smiled at the reaction. He doesn't mind at all being woken up to the sound of his baby sisters' cries if it meant he would have moments like this with her.
imagine the horror neytiri felt when she couldn't feel your warmth beside her
her eyes surveyed the area until it stopped on her eldest son, laid on the corner with you on top of his chest. you were babbling soft noises with a smile on your face as you slept.
neytiri cupped her mouth with her hand, taking in the cuteness of the moment
she wished she had whatever the humans used to capture memories for remembrance
when kiri was eleven, jake assigned her to help their grandmother look after you in her hut
she obliged without a thought because she loved watching you
unlike her annoying brothers, you don't spout annoying nonsense
being with your oldest sister has always been your favourite thing. even you could feel the serenity she radiated. when neteyam was unable to be found since his father is training him, lo'ak and tuk were having fun.
sitting between kiri's knees, your hands grasped her wrists and pushed her hands to clap against each other. you were cooing then babbling from time to time.
“papa gave you the toruk makto doll, but you’d rather play with my hands?” she asked.
her voice made you stare up with round eyes, as well as your ears perked up. as you let yourself slump forward, a playful look spread over your features.
kiri chuckled, familiar with your act.
after your grandma began teaching kiri how to be a healer, the two of you often roleplay in which you are the patient and kiri is the healer.
as you are with her during the majority of time when the warriors enter the hut to receive treatment, mo'at believes that you mimicked their behaviour. your observant eyes watching each action.
"oh no! we have a hunter who is hurt!" kiri faked a gasped and turned your body around.
you forced your eyes closed. giggles leaving your lips now and then.
"what could the cause be?" her hands touching your chubby stomach before trailing them up to your ears. "no, it's not the ears." then her fingers lightly tickled your neck which made you laugh. "nope, neck is fine. it must be… here!"
kiri tickled each of your sides causing you to thrash between her legs. a shrieking laugh could be heard inside the hut.
mo'at smiled at the sight of her grandchildren. kiri bending over to connect both of your noses, still giggling. moments like this, she begs eywa that they stay as children forever.
lo'ak.
he's not really the right person to look after you so jake doesn't leave you alone with him
why?
it's not because he's reckless. it's because you had no fear at all and lo'ak encourages it
you were just two when you tried jumping over a small fire. the fire wasn't big, so why should he stop you?
he was hanging from a branch with his legs over it. and you instantly made grabby hands, wanting to try it
jake feared that he would have to deal with another troublemaker when you grow up
that's why neteyam is always around when you're with lo'ak
lo'ak was eleven when he was first entrusted to watch you alone.
you were two.
just two.
and neteyam is already scolding lo'ak about how he wasn't holding you in the river. he felt like his soul left him when he saw you in front of lo'ak in the river, and nothing was holding you to him. you were literally sinking.
"bro, it's not like that. i will never hurt y/n like that!" yelled lo'ak. he felt offended that his brother would ever think that.
neteyam rolled his eyes. he was holding you by the hip, and you had a scowl on your face. "no baby would want to be in the lake sinking. skxawng."
lo'ak groaned. "she was not sinking! she tried to touch the ground with her feet! she kept crying when i wouldn't let her go!"
before neteyam could argue, you spoke, "i want lo'ak." you reached your arms out to him, indicating that you wanted to be held by him.
"no. we're going to mom and dad," neteyam firmly said.
lo'ak huffed as he rolled his eyes. he knew that his parents would scold him if they found out, especially jake.
you started sobbing as neteyam began to leave. lo'ak is the only person who ever allows you to do anything, hence you wanted to stay in the water with him for a little while longer. neteyam attempted to calm you, but it was ineffective. despite being in your father's arms, your sobbing continued to be loud enough to be heard.
neytiri was absolutely fuming when she found out
jake was bouncing you in his arms because your cries hadn't stopped
lo'ak was standing in front of them, head down
it was when you said your brothers name, reaching out to him, your mother stopped scolding him
lo'ak cupped the back of your neck as you rested your head on his shoulder.
maybe he was wrong for letting you do that, but he would never intentionally harm you. your brother adores you and he hoped that his parents see that
because tuk is closest to your age, she's your partner in crime
whatever she does, you follow
wherever she goes, you're right behind her
the two of you had no sense of what's wrong or right so you two didn't care
tuk was five and you were three. neytiri wasn't home because it was her hunt this time with her party. neteyam, lo'ak, and kiri were out to hangout with other kids their age.
so, it was just jake and his little girls.
jake enjoyed playing with his little princesses, but he was tired from his olo'eyktan duties. he tried to fight his drowsiness, blinking his eyes open. but with tuk laying on his stomach and humming a random melody, it was impossible.
"hm?" you tilted your head when you see a basket that had shells with paint inside them. blue, yellow, white. your favourite colours!
carefully, tuk moved from her father to you. her eyes shined at the shells and grabbed the blue paint.  "the one who gets the most paint on their body loses!"
tuk dipped her hand in the shell and touched your chest, leaving a four finger mark. you whined and grabbed the yellow shell. doing the same thing she did to you.
from then on, it became paint wars.
kiri, neteyam, and lo'ak were shocked to see the hammock dirty with paint. even more shocked to see you and tuk covered with paint head to toe.
neteyam was quick to wake his dad because if his mom sees this, they were all in trouble
jake cursed when he was greeted by his paint covered daughters. he internally cursed himself again when you and tuk said shit because of him
there wasn't enough time to do anything because your mother was already home
jake received a great scolding from her
you are loved dearly by your family and they would do anything for you <3
Tumblr media
it's only cut to the sully siblings because i felt like it's getting too long. if this gets much attention, i might make one for jake and neytiri !

aw could u maybe write some more big brother!neteyam please 🥺 maybe the reader has a fight with jake and neteyam stands up for her even though he’d never dare to disagree with his dad unless it’s about his sister 😔 i feel like he’d be such an overprotective brother 😭
Big Brother | Neteyam pt.2
pairing: brother!Neteyam x sister!reader w/c: 651 notes: i had so much fun writing this!! i hope this meets your expectations >.< have fun reading!!
𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐞
Neteyam was never one to argue, sure he’ll have the occasional quarrel with Lo’ak, or other kids in the clan, but that was it. So he would never, ever, try to fight against his parents. He wouldn’t even think about it. As the eldest he has to be the peacemaker, the levelheaded one, not some kind of rash idiot.
Although, he feels that there may be a bit of an exception.
“Baby girl, what were you thinking?” Jake yelled, running a hand over his face. Your ears flattened at his tone. Your father hardly ever scolded you, you didn’t get into trouble often, but when you did, it was met with a harsh attitude.
“I’m sorry,” You mumbled, head lowered. Jake sighed, shifting on his feet, placing a hand on his hip.
Jake shook his head, “No, you don’t get it, you could’ve died! You’ve got to be more careful!” You nodded along his words, tears brimming at your eyes. You really didn’t mean to stay out until eclipse! You were just having so much fun that you didn’t even notice the time of day, if only you had noticed you would’ve gone straight home. Once you started your trek back to the hometree, you had encountered a thanator, once it had noticed your presence, it came charging at you. You were only able to climb up a large tree and maneuver through the branches to get home. Either way, it was a close call, and Jake was not happy with it.
It may seem rash, to get angry at something so small compared to what your siblings have gotten themselves into, but you just never got in trouble, this was big for Jake.
As you both stood there in silence, Neteyam walks in, peering carefully at his dad. Neteyam knows that you find comfort in his presence, that as long as your big brother is there, everything will be okay, and your big brother will deliver. He moves over to stand a few feet away from you, far enough that your father won’t have any complaints.
“No leaving hometree for a month,” Jake grunts, shaking his head once again.
You gasped, “But, dad —”
“No.”
“Dad I —”
“No.” Jake said with finality.
“Father, I’m sorry, it is my fault, I was supposed to be watching Y/N and I decided to let her wander the forest on her own,” Neteyam interjected, raising his hands as he stepped between you and your father. Jake turns his attention to his eldest, tilting his head.
“‘Teyam, you don’t need to take the fall for every single thing your siblings do.” Jake huffed, his gaze softening. You were tucked behind your older brother, sniffling.
“No father, I insist, it is truly my fault.” Neteyam spoke, his tone more persistent. He stands taller, raising himself a bit. As you tuck yourself behind him, he reaches out a hand, gently placing it on your arm. Your sniffles quiet down at the touch.
Jake sighs. He shifts on his feet and looks away momentarily. When his gaze returns to his children, he no longer looks at them as people, but as his children.
“Okay,” he grumbles, “C’mere kids.” Jake walks forward and wraps the both of you in his arms, nuzzling onto the top of Neteyam’s head.
“I’m sorry, I just want you all to be safe, I’m afraid of losing any of you.” Jake says, muffled. You and Neteyam nod, hugging your father back.
“I love you guys, you know that right?” You and Neteyam nod once again, “Okay, get outta here.” Jake says softly.
You and Neteyam walk a few feet away before he breaks the silence.
“Are you okay baby sister?” He turns his head to you, “No more crying okay?” You hum.
“I’ll always be here to protect you, okay?” This time, Neteyam stops in his tracks, cupping your face in his hands.
“Okay.”

i desperately need a fic where neteyam is so obsessed w u its not even funny. hes always around you, doesnt matter where or how busy he is he’s just there 😭 the second youre in the room he immediately stops paying attention to whoever was speaking to him and its just you hes focusing on … plus he would be sooo domestic and overprotective of u — is there a problem or something (hardly) dangerous going on? he grabs your waist and pulls u to him so that he can protect u. youre struggling to do something on ur own? he helps you immediately, you dont need to worry your ‘pretty little head’ abt it. AND he just seems like the type to tell stories to tuk or any little kid that hes the luckiest man to exist for having such a wonderful woman by his side. zzzz i need myself a teyam 🤧
obsessed with you

Tumblr media
neteyam was certain he’d gone insane. it didn’t matter the time of the day, what he was doing or where he was, his mind would always wander back to the same girl. of course, they were together and at first he thought it was the usual relationship giddy feeling he’d seen so many couples in the clan talk about.
“let me help you, my love” he immediately held onto it as she sadly looked at where the animals were seconds before “oh, neteyam… i made you lose your kill, i’m so sorry!” she covered her cheeks with her hands as she looked up to him, he only shrugged and began to walk away with the heavy basket and a grin on his face
“neteyam! your bow!” the girl called as he walked ahead of her, seeing that he didn’t mind she took his things herself and rushed to his side “are you okay?” she asked, he turned his head to look at her with a soft smile “i’m great, love. are you?” feeling tingly because of the nickname, she only nodded
“you just lost your kill and was about to leave your things in the middle of the forest, and you don’t seem to care?” she spoke up again, neteyam took a look on the bow that crossed her torso and the arrows she was holding onto “you’d look so beautiful as a hunter” right after saying that, neteyam realized that he didn’t care about the kill or the bow and arrows, he’d literally dropped everything just to help her with a basket that only seemed heavy to her because of her smaller frame compared to his. maybe he was insane, he should care about the kill, he could never forget his things in the forest, but he could only think of her.
he was afraid that if he voiced his ‘obsession’ with her, as lo’ak called it, she’d freak out on him. hell, he was freaked out himself, the training sessions had him all distracted ever since y/n and tuk started going on walks by the forest, stopping by to wish neteyam good luck on his duties. his mind would go blank as he watched her walk away every time, or after he gave her a kiss goodbye. he was useless after she’d made an appearance and he didn’t care that his dad scolded him every time. he felt his day had gotten a lot better because she’d wished him good luck.
neteyam loved kissing. well, kissing her. he hoped it wouldn’t be weird for him to want to spend hours and hours with her in his arms and their lips molded together, sometimes when they kissed he wished he didn’t need lungs so he could keep his lips there, wishing to never pull away. he’d told her that, though. every time they kissed he’d mumble words about wanting more and she’d happily accept. he was a nervous mess when they first kissed.
they’d spent the day together, sneaking into the forest so no one could interrupt them and sitting up on a thick tree branch to keep away from the creatures. y/n sat incredibly close to him and he could feel his palma starting to sweat, not knowing what to do. she noticed him wipe them on his cloth and she held back a giggle as his cheeks turned a dark shade of blue, refusing to meet her gaze “neteyam” she said, hooking a leg over the branch so her legs dangled one on each side, he looked up at her “have you ever kissed anyone?” she asked, the boy shook his head
“have you?” he questioned, she nodded and his face dropped for only a second “it was so long ago, though. i still remember how to do it” her voice seemed to get quieter but neteyam could only hear her, the birds seemed to have gone quiet, the forest was quiet and all he could hear was her words and her breaths “do you want me to teach you?” she whispered, as if it was a secret.
neteyam felt like he was going to throw up, in a good way. his stomach felt like it had turned and he felt some kind of tickle in his chest as he nodded, copying her movements from before and moving his legs to face her “please” at his words, she leaned in and even though she was still holding onto the branch to keep herself from falling, she caught his lips with hers. he shivered, letting out a shaky breath as she pulled back, he felt embarrassed when she smiled at him trying to chase her mouth with his “sorry” he muttered, she only shifted her hips closer so their legs tangled one over the other, and she held onto his thigh trusting that it would help her keep away from falling, and rested her other hand on the back of his neck
“you were doing so well, ‘teyam” he gazed at her lips as she spoke and he suddenly felt a little dizzy. before she could utter any more words, he leaned back in, stopping when their lips barely grazed each other’s. he seemed to hesitate “do you want to kiss me again, neteyam?” she asked and he nodded as she waited for him to move, to kiss her again like he so obviously craved to.
he inched closer, still a bit shaky and locked their lips together in a chaste kiss. he pulled away “i don’t know how to do this” he repeated, she smiled and mirrored his small kiss on his lips “you want me to lead?” he nodded, he watched intently while both of her hands moved to cup his face and he quickly held onto her hips when he saw her tumble a little. she kissed him again and he felt that maybe this wasn’t supposed to be perfect, he knew he was kissing her sloppily and she didn’t seem to care. she pulled away to breathe, again and again until neteyam got the hang of it.
his younger brother, lo’ak, definitely made fun of him when he came back home with wet lips and a grin on his face.
neteyam had always had a protective nature, but whenever he and y/n went on walks and a sudden sound would make their ears perk up, he couldn’t help but wrap his tail around her hips and an arm over her shoulder. she blushed the first time he did it, telling him that it was sweet to see him care like that. he didn’t feel so insane, then.
“i’m going crazy, love” he admitted, dropping to the floor with a sigh before leaning his head onto her lap “why do you think that, ‘teyam?” she asked. her voice could make him feel at peace so easily, that he almost closed his eyes at the softness of it “i can’t stop thinking about you”
she laughed and the boy forced his eyes shut in embarrassment as she played with the braids in his hair “don’t laugh! it’s odd. i keep thinking of you, no matter what i do” he couldn’t see her lean down but when he felt a small kiss on his forehead he opened his eyes “you’re so cute”
he made a noise and sat up, reaching to take her hand in his and he moved to sit in front of her “baby, it’s worrying. i lose focus if i see you during training, you’re all i think about” she looked worried, then “oh, ma neteyam, i wish you could’ve told me. i won’t show up unannounced again if it distracts you, i don’t mean to” neteyam shook his head aggressively “no, no. please come. i love it when you do”
y/n titled her head in confusion and he let out a frustrated breath “i don’t know how to explain it, okay? i love it when you come see me, but it makes me go all dumb later. my mind goes ‘poof’ blank and you’re all i can think about. and not just in training, love, when i’m having dinner or when i’m hunting, too”
she couldn’t hold back her grin “neteyam, you’re just in love. i am too, i think of you all the time, you’re not crazy” he sighed in relief “that didn’t happen as much before, though. and i was and am so in love” she could only scrunch up her face at his overreacting and put on a smile again. hearing lo’ak’s voice outside, neteyam sat up straight and held her hand as he pretended to toughen up in front of his brother, which only made y/n huff out a laugh.

Big Brother | Neteyam
Tumblr media
pairing: Brother!Neteyam x sister!reader, Brother!Lo'ak x sister!reader summary: A day in the life of older brother Neteyam Sully w/c: 613 notes: i recently hit 100 followers while i wrote this little drabble!! thank u all so much >.< i hope u enjoy this xD im on a streak w the sibling fics and drabbles its just so much fun to write!!
It was not uncommon that you and Lo’ak would get into arguments, almost always they are about petty things, who was the fastest, who’s better at hunting, who makes the better meal, etc. So it wasn’t rare that the Sully family would walk in on your childish arguments, though unfortunately, it was Neteyam who had the luck to run into the both of you.
“Lo’ak just admit you’re a pussy bitch and this can be over.” You rolled your eyes.
“No way in hell! I told you, we need a rematch and it’ll be fair,” Loak grunted, crossing his arms over his chest, turning away from you.
Neteyam sighed. He really wasn’t in the mood to play ‘most responsible person in the world’ right now, but duty calls.
The eldest Sully approaches the both of you, “Hey, hey, what’s all this fighting about?”
“This skxawng and I did a race of whoever got the first kill and I won but Lo’ak says it ‘cuz he heard a thanator and had to hide for the first few minutes.” You whined to your older brother, earning an appalled gasp from his brother.
“Hey! You can’t go sucking up to him just ‘cause you’re his ‘little princess’!” Lo’ak mocked in a high pitch tone, his hands flying around wildly.
“Listen, listen, I’m not taking anyones’ side, both of you are skxawngs.” Neteyam exhaled, crossing his arms over his chest, “Now, no more fighting, or I’m telling mom and dad.” The eldest says, mostly directed towards his brother.
“Ya, you skxawng, scurry off.” You scoffed, sticking your tongue out at your brother, playfully poking at his torso.
Lo’ak hissed at you, brows furrowing.
“Princess, you’re provoking him,” Neteyam shook his head. Yet you paid no mind, continuing with your teasing.
You poked Lo’ak once more before he hissed and pounced at you. The two of you begin fighting, with Lo’ak pulling at your braids and you pulling on his ear. Grunts and whines bounce against the leaves of the hometree, the pair of you rolling around and knocking into the bark of the tree.
“Ow! Bro she has my ears! She has my ears! Get her off!”
“Let go of my fucking hair!”
Neteyam sighs once again, he can never have just one peaceful day, can he? He struts over to the two of you. At this point you’re now straddling Lo’ak, pulling on his hair as he throws meek punches to your torso.
Neteyam picks you up without a second thought, “No more fighting, please.” you squirm in your brother’s hold but ultimately cannot fight against it. The eldest Sully reaches out a hand and helps Lo’ak up.
At just the right timing, Kiri walks in. She pauses to observe the scene, before shrugging and going on about her business.
“My ears really hurt,” Lo’ak muttered under his breath, a stupid pout forming on his lips.
“Okay, go ask Kiri for help,” Neteyam nods his head in his sister’s direction. Lo’ak begrudgingly struts over to where Kiri is.
You remain beside Neteyam, eyes wandering to the ground, which was suddenly so interesting.
“Now you, I don’t know why you continue to cause trouble baby,” Neteyam points, looking down at you with disappointment. You shift from foot to foot. Luckily enough, his soft side for you remains, the slip of a pet name indicating he’s not entirely mad at you.
Yet you chuckle nervously, “I won’t anymore, promise.”
Neteyam rolls his eyes at your promise. As if you hadn’t said the same thing a few days ago. Though he takes a look at your disheveled state, and decides to let it pass.
“Come, I’ll fix your braids.”

Tumblr media
notes: i had a dream that neteyam and loak were my older brothers so i just decided to run with it and make a bunch of headcanons, i may make more of these just cuz theyre so fun xDD hope u all enjoy ! :3c Neteyam & Lo'ak headcanons
Neteyam and Lo'ak were extremely protective over their sisters
and that includes you!
they just feel an overwhelming amnt of responsibility and love for their sisters hence the protectiveness
you were younger than Kiri by 2 years (meaning that they deemed you a mere toddler)
But it also means that you get an unnecessary amnt of attention from the both of them
tho u dont hate it. . . it can get overwhelming sometimes
the pair always insist that atleast one of them goes along with wherever ur going or whatever ur doing
you tried sneaking off once to hang out with a boy and it didnt end well
"Baby bro where is Y/N?"
"I thought she was with you bro"
". . ."
they go around the hometree and the forest that surrounds it looking for you
once they do spot you they dont approach you immediately
youre in the clearing with a boy, talking about something
and no way in hell is their little sister gonna get a boyfriend already
so as you speak to the boy, they very quietly stalk up behind you
they catch the attention of the boy youre with who looks behind you nervously
"Hey baby girl!" Lo'ak wraps an arm around your shoulders, pulling you in close
"Hey baby sis" Neteyam grunts, crossing his arms over his chest
you greet them happily, unaware that your brothers were glaring daggers at the smaller boy you were with
it was an intimidating sight, no lies, so soon enough the boy scurries off, "I think my mom is calling me!"
you sigh, "man I thought we had a thing going on"
the pair hum dismissively, pulling you away from the clearing
"he doesnt matter, how about you let your big bros show you how a real man is supposed to treat you huh?" Lo'ak flexes his arms obnoxiously, earning a snort out of you
the three of you end up flying on ikrans for fun, landing in a random clearing
"Here baby girl, best fruit ever in this area" Neteyam tosses you a fruit, and you take a bite gratefully
as you eat, Lo'ak braids a flower crown for you, picking random flowers from the bushes
at the end of the day you come home happier than you thought you'd be
and your brothers do indeed prove that any man would need the effort of two for you

Note
Hi can I request a headcanon with Jake, Lo’ak, and Neteyam where their female mate gets angry at them one day for them being very protective of her yelling at them to leave her alone as she feels a bit suffocated and she just wants freedom to do her own thing and they react by putting their head down with their tail between their legs and ears lying flat against their head apologising very quietly before leaving with tears in their eyes and how they’d react when they’re sad and their mate coming to them to fix things with apologies from her as well ending is fluffy please? Thanks 😊
𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐨𝐲𝐬 Jake, Neteyam, and Lo’ak headcanons notes: i had a lot of fun making this!! esp for Lo'ak cuz its my first time writing for him... also sorry that jakes is a little short i unfortunately see him as a dad but i tried to make it somewhat romantic xDD hope u all enjoy!
Jake Sully
Jake was super protective over you, despite him being rather ‘new’ to the Na’vi lifestyle,  he still felt it was imperative for him to be your protector no matter what.
Because of this he stopped you from doing a lot of things
But if he’s with you then go right on ahead!!
But sometimes you just want to do stuff, alone.
But again, he just doesnt get that
One day, you try to go out hunting with your friend, but before you could even grab your bow, jake stops you
“Where ya going sweetheart?”
The usual phrase that made you feel so warm, now just ticks you off.
Before you could control yourself, words just start spilling out of your mouth.
“Jake! I don’t need any protecting! I was perfectly fine and alive before we even met! So just leave me alone!”
Jakes ears flatten against his head and he lets out a sigh
“Baby I –” He reaches out for you but you storm off before he could say anything
You come back from the hunt, filled with regret.
You knew you shouldnt have yelled, and you could’ve phrased things differently, but it was so frustrating!
You expect Jake to avoid you when you arrive home, but instead he greets you right at the entrance
He carries a bouquet of flowers, handing it to you
“I’m sorry for being a little overprotective over you my angel, I’m just afraid that something bad would happen to you”
“I’m sorry, I know you just want to protect me, I didnt mean to yell”
The two of you make up and nuzzle together in your hammock for the rest of the evening
Neteyam Sully
Neteyam grew up with three younger siblings, so it was inevitable that he would be protective over you as well
But he lets you do as you please
The over protectiveness began after a hunting accident that ended up with you having a fractured leg
thankfully the medicinal herbs helped speed up the healing process
But ever since then Neteyam was wary of letting you do anything without him
You try going hunting with your friends, or flying on your ikran but Neteyam simply refused.
“I can’t let you out of my sight my love, how about we go hunting tomorrow instead?”
You turn away, not responding to him, he reaches out to you but you hiss at him
Hes obviously taken aback, you’ve never so much as frowned at him, so this was new
But he was used to conflict, and even more used to solving conflict, so he stays calm
“My Tanhi, you know I just want to protect you, I promise we'll go hunting tomorrow, and you can even invite your friends too”
“Neteyam, I am not a weak child, I can do things on my own” You growled, ripping your arm from his hold. You go to leave your tent but Neteyam stops you.
“Don’t touch me! You treat me like i'm incapable, well sorry I’m not like your squad buddies but I don’t need you!”
Neteyam frowns, his ears flatten against his head, he falters in his step and lets go of your arm.
“Well if you feel you are better off in the hunt without me. . .” He trailed off, refusing to meet your eyes
You sigh, mostly in annoyance with your own actions
“I’m sorry my love, I didn’t mean it like that, I didn’t mean it at all, I just want to be able to do things on my own again”
He nods along to your words but still refuses to meet your eyes
You gently grab a hold of his chin, lifting it up, you nuzzle against his nose lightly
“I’m sorry ma’Neteyam, I will always need you”
Lo'ak Sully
Lo’ak was on the normal side of things
Once the two of you became a legitimate couple, he did feel some sense of protectiveness over you, but he never let it guide his emotions and decisions
Up until he realized that other men of the clan had no respect for your relationship and would continue to flirt with you
You being your kind self, you didn’t notice these advances as anything more than kind compliments, especially since you were already with your beloved Lo’ak
But Lo’ak saw thru their ‘kind’ words
It was no secret that Lo’ak faced a little bit of insecurity about himself, so seeing that these seemingly better men (they are not) are trying to take you away from him, his overprotectiveness kicked in
Lo’ak then decided that you were under no circumstances allowed out of his sight.
He tried to not be overbearing about it, if you wanted to hang out with friends he would simply watch from a distance, ready to pounce on any man who bothered to approach you
You were fine with it at first, waving it off as one of Lo’aks antics but as time passed and Lo’ak kept at it you started to feel bothered about it
“Lo’ak, do you really have to come along?” You and your friends decided to go out to the forest to pick out some fruit for the clan (which was also a secret gossip session) and yet again, the boy was trailing behind you
“Yeah, obviously, cuz these guys can’t get the hint” He grunted
“Well I don’t need you trailing behind me all the time!” You rolled your eyes
“It’s not like you reject these guys, you let them come all over you!”
“Leave me alone! I don’t want you anywhere near me!” You hissed, you turned around and continued your trek to the forest grounds.
Lo’ak keeps his eyes on you as you further the distance between you both
His ears flatten against his head, tail swishing softly
Once youre out of sight, Lo’ak turns around to begin walking back to his home
A few hours pass before you come back from the forest
“Ma’Lo’ak? Where are you my love?”
You approach the na’vi boy on the hammock, you lock eyes and you notice a slight puffiness to his own
Immediately you felt 10x worse
“I’m sorry my love,” You climb into the hammock with him, thankful that he opens his arms for you, “I’m so sorry about what I said earlier”
He doesnt say anything, so you resort to peppering his face with kisses
Soon enough he lets out a giggle and the both of you are able to hug it out
