Clean House Powder
Intent: To cleanse a dwelling of negativity, “heaviness,” stale energy, bad atmosphere, etc. Ingredients:
Lemon Peel
Solomon’s Seal Root
Cayenne Pepper
 Arrow Root
Blue Vervain
White Oak
Sage (any color)
Salt (both black & white)
Materials:
Mortar & Pestle (or spice grinder)
Funnel
Mesh Strainer
Collection Dish
Container
Note: Powdered versions of most herbs are available online. I recommend Wellcat Herbs and Starwest Botanicals for the best quality products. Also, if you can get your hands on a good spice grinder, you can make your own powder from dried herb products. Grind each ingredient separately to produce fine powder. Sieve the material through the mesh strainer into the collection dish; this removes the larger unground pieces and gives you cleaner powdered herb. (Pro-Tip: Putting a funnel under the mesh strainer reduces lost material and makes collection much easier.) Combine the component powders in the collection dish, mix well, and bottle immediately. For volume, go heavier on the less expensive or more easily available materials like Lemon Peel, Cayenne, and Salt. Otherwise, combine in more or less even amounts. Sprinkle a pinch in the corner of each room to dispel heaviness and clear the air, so to speak. Useful for spring cleaning and touch-up jobs throughout the year. Add to floor washes, incenses, or charms for general cleansing and purification of the home.

Tips for Witchcraft in the Dorm
If you're in a situation where you have a roommate that may not be open to your craft, you're in the broom closet and being in college makes it even harder to practice, you're starting your witch journey while in college, you couldn't take a full sized altar to school, or you're like me and attend a private Christian college (ugh) that makes you feel the need to be discreet, this post is for you!
If you have an altar: Find a way to downsize your altar. For some this isn't a huge thing, but I'm the kind of gal that liked to go all out with my space. The best way to do it is to find a box or container that can be moved easily and has all your essentials, and only take what can fit. If you can't fit certain tools, it's best to find substitutions. A small bowl that can hold water will work just as well as a crystal ball. Putting herbs in bags will allow more room than jars.
Alternative to candle magic: I know the urge to put tape over that fire alarm is real but I'm unfortunately a goody two shoes. Luckily wax burners exist and you can get all the fun of candle magic minus the flame. I like to draw sigils into my wax before melting it for spellwork; and you can get all sorts of different colored wax. If you need unscented wax, you can buy white wax and dye it.
Some discreet types of magic to look into:
Tea. Tea. Tea. I cannot stress how useful tea magic is. There's loads of information about it right here on Tumblr! Most dorms allow ectric teapots and tea is easy to store.
Knot magic. Here's a great post about it. Absolutely any kind of spell can be done with a knot and it's super easy to implement into everyday activities.
Moon magic. Guys, the moon is awesome. Work with it. Moon water is a great manifestation tool and corresponding anything with the moon phases is an instant boost. It's also free and super easy.
Sigils. Really fun to learn and really easy to draw in a couple journals, on a foggy window, in your tea as you stir it, or on your skin. I recommend Pinterest if you're trying to find tutorials.
Runes. I like to cast physical runes but there's lots of ways to use these in everyday magic. Each symbol has their own meaning and there's an abundance of information on them. Similar to sigils, I like to draw them on things.
Extra tips:
Learn the correspondences for each day of the week. Doing little things for each day will keep you connected to your craft as you get through college.
Anything can be a chalice. Cleanse that cup and you're good to go.
Astrology is your friend.
I'm here for you. College is hard. Dorming can be a pain too.
I hope this helps someone. Reblog if you can. Love you all!

Let's get Scientific: Reality is Energy
Source: A Metaphysical Guide to Meditation, Magick & Manifestation (CH. 1)
In the nature of physics, everything that seems solid is merely energy vibrating at a slower rate. Examined at microscopic levels, solid matter is made up of particles that are perpetually in motion.
Everything we can touch, hear, see, taste, and smell is simply energy in different forms being perceived by our senses- but not limited to what we can measure with our senses.
Tumblr media
We cannot perceive or see all energy around us. Magnetic fields, radiation, and ultraviolet light are examples. Animals, however, possess more ability to hear and see things the common human can't.
Tumblr media
Source: Brainworks
At the root of all our thoughts, emotions and behaviors are the communication between neurons within our brains. Brainwaves are produced by synchronized electrical pulses from masses of neurons communicating with each other.
Each brainwave state is named after a Greek letter and is measured by the cycles per second called hertz.
The five brainwave states: gamma, beta, alpha, theta, and delta. By learning to alter our brainwave states we learn to alter our consciousness.
GAMMA WAVES (38 TO 42 HZ):
Gamma brainwaves are the fastest of brain waves (high frequency, like a flute), and relate to the simultaneous processing of information from different brain areas. Gamma brainwaves pass information rapidly and quietly. The most subtle of the brainwave frequencies, the mind has to be quiet to access gamma.
Gamma was dismissed as 'spare brain noise' until researchers discovered it was highly active when in states of universal love, altruism, and the higher virtues. Gamma is also above the frequency of neuronal firing, so how it is generated remains a mystery. It is speculated that gamma rhythms modulate perception and consciousness and that a greater presence of gamma relates to expanded consciousness and spiritual emergence
____________________________
BETA WAVES (12 TO 38 HZ):
Beta brainwaves dominate our normal waking state of consciousness when attention is directed towards cognitive tasks and the outside world. Beta is a ‘fast’ activity, present when we are alert, attentive, engaged in problem-solving, judgment, decision making, or focused mental activity.
Beta brainwaves are further divided into three bands; Lo-Beta (Beta1, 12-15Hz) can be thought of as a 'fast idle, or musing. Beta (Beta2, 15-22Hz) is a high engagement or actively figuring something out. Hi-Beta (Beta3, 22-38Hz) is a highly complex thought, integrating new experiences, high anxiety, or excitement. Continual high-frequency processing is not a very efficient way to run the brain, as it takes a tremendous amount of energy.
_____________________________
ALPHA WAVES (8 TO 12 HZ):
Alpha brainwaves are dominant during quietly flowing thoughts and in some meditative states. Alpha is the power of now, being here, in the present. Alpha is the resting state of the brain. Alpha waves aid overall mental coordination, calmness, alertness, mind/body integration, and learning.
____________________________
THETA WAVES (3 TO 8 HZ):
Theta brainwaves occur most often in sleep but are also dominant in deep meditation. Theta is our gateway to learning, memory, and intuition. In theta, our senses are withdrawn from the external world and focused on signals originating from within. It is that twilight state which we normally only experience fleetingly as we wake or drift off to sleep. In theta, we are in a dream; vivid imagery, intuition, and information beyond our normal conscious awareness. It’s where we hold our ‘stuff’, our fears, troubled history, and nightmares.
____________________________
DELTA WAVES (.5 TO 3 HZ):
Delta brainwaves are slow, loud brainwaves (low frequency and deeply penetrating, like a drumbeat). They are generated in deepest meditation and dreamless sleep. Delta waves suspend external awareness and are the source of empathy. Healing and regeneration are stimulated in this state, and that is why deep restorative sleep is so essential to the healing process

Anitism: Survey of Religious Beliefs Native to the Philippines (Pre-Colonial)
Source: Stephen K. Hislop
Anito throughout the Philippines has a general meaning of "spirit"- the souls or spirits of ancestors.
Characteristics of Anitism
Tumblr media
The Spirits of Nature and Spirits of Ancestors are the anitos. The ancestors who had passed on went to the spirit world and shared an existence w/ spirits who had never been mortal.
These spirits of the ancestors then had some kind of influence upon the other spirits who could help or harm those still living. In order to keep on good terms with the spirits that had been ancestors, it was believed necessary from time to time to hold great feasts in their honor, so that they would intercede on behalf of the living to the spirits of nature.
The spirits of the dead were likewise involved occasionally in causing the death of the living through sickness so that the afflicted would join his ancestor in the spirit world.
Animals and all visible objects also possessed spirits. Often images were made by one particularly skilled in carving or sculpting, and through them were worshipped the spirits of those who had died.

Journey Meditation
Journeys are a form of meditation in which you travel to the etheric plane to explore, learn, and meet with guides, and angels. These journeys are not usually planned out, but are usually more a free exploration to find understanding through more improvised means. But when these Journeys are planned out it is usually in order to find specific things, or answers to questions in your life through free exploration. Just like meditating in general this can take a few times for you to actually understand how to do it. Here’s a step by step on how to Journey. Step by step time… 1) First you need to find a quiet space where you will not be disturbed. This place should be completely free from distractions. You should put on some comfortable clothing, and take off any jewelry. If you would like you could also put on calming meditation music, or light some incense to really get the place in the perfect mood for meditation. Choose to sit, lay, or stand in any way that you would be comfortable to meditate in for a while. Then close your eyes, and enter a meditative state. 2) Deepen your meditation by opening your chakras, and focusing on yourself in your mind’s eye. At this time you should use a spiritual protection technique, or method. This technique can be casting a circle, the psychic protective ball of light, or any other technique, or method you are familiar with. All you need is a way to be protected from outside negative influences that could disturb your meditation. 3) Now we are ready to begin our journey. You need to see through your inner eyes so you can experience, and explore the worlds within. This can be done by trying to open your eyes without actually opening your physical eyes. Look around the inner Space, and allowing your environment to form around you. You can also envision yourself in some sort of setting like a forest, a city, a jungle, a mountain, anything that you can envision you could explore. Once you pick one of these options it is imperative to envision yourself there through your eyes. You need to be able to turn your inner head around, and be able to see in all directions. In this world your intent is how you get around, and interact with things in the world, so if you wanted to move your hand to touch something like the ground all you would have to do is think about touching the ground. Through your intent you will make it real, and be able to feel, and sense things in this world. 4) Once you have control in this world you will then be allowed to explore it. The trick to this is not allowing yourself to influence the land with your intent, and go through it with an open mind allowing you to interact with things outside your normal perception. This can be hard to do it first, but you will eventually be able to learn to do this through practice. You should allow the environment to go with the flow why you move yourself through it with your intent. You can also call your guides or angels to come with you on your journey through the unknown. Your guides, or angels may also take you on journeys of their own in order to teach you a certain lesson you need to learn in your life. Journeying is all about the experience usually not about the destination, because most of the time there is no destination just places you perceive, and learn from on the way there. 5) When your journey is complete, and you are ready to return back to the mundane world. You can do so simply by thanking all your guides, and angels for coming with you on your journey, and by simply easing out of your meditation. You can then open your eyes, and go on among your day.
