Traditional chinese craftsmanship for architecture and furniture 榫卯 sǔn mǎo
The mortise and tenon technique does not use glues or nails and creates furniture that is usually very strong and durable.

I'm leaving Monday morning but since I'm functionally not online on the weekends, I'm really kind of leaving in half an hour
I've got my queue running as usual but don't expect to see me
If you've got anything to say to me, send it to me in an ask or link me in direct messaging otherwise I probably will not see it lol

it was really fun though, some of the stuff that they did I will probably keep it that way
but it was also funny to be wandering around like "oh, they put my hot tub inside" or "where the hell is my bookcase" or walking out my bedroom door and being under the pergola. very cute. they were even moving my flowers around
and were there for approximately an hour and a half, so I think they were having fun
lmao

I've been redoing my house in Palia because of the courtyard so yesterday I let somebody come over and just mess around with my million pieces of furniture and decorate my house the way they wanted to (it's just fun to see people's different aesthetics)
but then my game crashed so they probably got kicked out and I couldn't even say goodbye u__u

If there's any character in this world who suffers from literary Ken-ification it's Patroclus. Especially in the zeitgeist of today (thanks tsoa), it's always Achilles AND Patroclus, never just Patroclus. Who is he? Why does he exist? He is Achilles' boyfriend! What's his job? Death! In the sense that he just. Dies. That's just his job now. Death. Death and Achilles' boyfriend. That's it.

one of the most infuriating things about becoming an adult is when you realize that it actually is 10x easier to solve problems by making a phone call vs literally any other communication method

The important thing to remember is that, when Shrek came out in 2001, its subversive, ironical tone was groundbreaking because it was up against a Disney machine that played everything completely straight (notwithstanding "Emperor's New Groove", which came out a few months earlier). Then Disney itself bought into that tone and hegemonized it, and now, movies that actually take their own fucking characters and premises seriously feel like a breath of fresh air.

so when food is too salty we might say "打死卖盐的" basically meaning "did you beat the salt merchant to death" but one time in an attempt to be a little polite and a little funny to the chef (my mother) i said "……是不是又跟卖盐的有矛盾了" meaning "are you... having a dispute with the salt merchant again" and now it's a whole thing in my family
anyway point being there has been another altercation with the salt merchant
