Quick Into the Light Thoughts!
Onslaught
playlist version is quick, which is nice, but wayyyy too easy even with randos.
regular version with a fireteam is also super easy until about Wave 30-40. That when it started getting really fun.
legend version is where it's at. long, difficult, and rewarding.
Stormcaller going crazy rn.
Turrets and Decoys are the only upgrades worth going for. buff trip wires.
Rewards
Brave Arsenal is incredible. The weapons feels great. Elsie's Rifle is definitely a sleeper hit. Don't dismantle it thinking it's just a weaker NTTE/Messenger.
the number of drops from regular and playlist versions of Onslaught feels low. in terms of both weapons and trophies. legend does not have this problem.
the armor is a grind, which is nice as most folk are just going for the ornament and not the set proper.
Arcite is back!
Random Misc. Into the Light thoughts
new space looks great
lore tabs on new gear are stellar. i love checking in on all our friends right before the "big moment"
minor rebalancing feels nice.
artstyle is reaching a zenith. feels very cohesive right now.
Whisper mission is as incredible as it was the day we lost it.

Random Exotic Buffs that I Would Implement Day 1 if Bungie Hired Me:
Symmetry's alt fire Blinds at 10 stacks of Dynamic Charge and Jolts at max(20 w/catalyst) stacks
Crown of Tempest gains stacks of Conduction Tines for ability kills AND killing Arc-Debuffed targets
Bad Juju gets max stacks of String of Curses after casting super
YAS nerf reverted
Stormdancer's Brace buffs Chaos Reach's damage based on number of kills and refunds CR super energy depending on kills if you do not deactivate early
Blight Ranger's reflected projectiles track. Killing enemies with deflected projectiles extends super duration
Crest of Alpha Lupi grants cure x2 on Barricade cast and Restoration x2 on Super cast (in addition to bonus orbs)
Gemini Jesters applies Arc-Blind to PvE enemies in Line-of-Sight within 20m for 5s on top of Misdirection
The Prospector is now Solar and applies scorch on hit. Targets killed by scorch, ignite. Remove full auto. Remote detonate sticky bombs with [special reload]
Hierarchy of Needs: Guided Arrows apply scorch
Eriana's Vow gets Dragonfly

These were off the top of my head. Pure wishful thinking. I'm sure more than a couple of these would break the sandbox somehow. Still fun to speculate tho.

Banshee Alert

Banshee has a sick Cold Denial. It's really close to the one I've been using since Arrivals and with Zoom/Range changes it's hitting from much farther than it had been. Really solid with a melee build. Almost no recoil on MnK. It's no Messenger but I like it more  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just got caught up with Into the Light news and what the hell. This is like 30th Anniversary levels of good. The weapons, modes, armor, perks, economy, it all sounds very promising.
I'll break it down once we get more info and hands on but my most anticipated additions are definitely Onlaught, Luna's Howl, Recluse, and Blast Furnace. And of course I'm intrigued as to what Hung Jury is going to wind up with even if I already have my Adept god roll from a couple seasons ago.
Big news for Destiny. Hoping Bungie can cobble together something good to repair their reputation and put in some goodwill with the community.

Wait wait wait wait hold up
Volatile rounds detonate in pvp at 200 health for 80 damage. If they didn’t raise the threshold with the new health values volatile rounds are about to be absolutely insane. It’d be like playing the old sandbox in the new one.
Surely that’s not going to be an oversight…right?
Oh I can’t wait for next week.
There's about to be a huge Crucible shakeup so guess who has been hyperfixating on all the new Scout Rifle damage numbers and resilience checks.

Here's the first loadout I'm gonna try on Mar. 5:
Subclass: Nightstalker

The strategy here is all about to catch someone offguard and setting up an advantage in the next fight. The new sandbox is going to be super crit focused so we need to fight flinch every chance we get. The best way to do that is to just make bodyshots less hurtful to overall ttk.
I've crunched the numbers. Scouts are getting a 14% crit buff on top of the resil/health pool changes. We're gonna focus on the 180 scout archetype in this post because they're my favorite and they're objectively bad. So let's make them less bad.
That's where Precision Instrument comes in.

Out of the gate, 180s will need 3c1b to down T10 res. @ 245.69. The current 2c2b will only be good for 214.46 which won't down anybody. HOWEVER, let's factor in Prec. Instrument. Call back to my old Brya's breakdown where I talked about each tier of Precision Instrument and what they buffs are (that was before the buff to the enhanced version which is what I will be going off of moving forward).
2 Crits followed by 2 Bodyshots = 217.92 (T1)
Not very good is it? BUT what if we did 2 Bodyshots and then 2 Crits?
2 Body followed by 2 Crits = 231.76 (T10)
Remember, even bodyshots ramp up Precision Instrument's multiplier. So what other combos can PI do?
2C,2B= 217.92 (T1)
2B,2C= 231.76 (T10)
1C,3B= 183.23 (No Kill)
3C,1B= 256.07 (T10)
1B,3C= 266.45 (T10)
1B,2C,1B= 224.84 (T7)
2C,1B,1C= 259.53 (T10)
3C= 218.07 (T2)
Most combos will down T10 in 4 shots. Now what about that last one. The elusive 3 tap. The .67 from the Not Forgotten era. Out of the gate it will only down T2 and below with all crits. Not very reliable. So we use the rest of the build to buff it to make it just a little more common and to help out crit to body ratios. The easiest way to do so is with Surges and a Reaper mod which brings us to how the whole build flows.
Here's the Gameplan:
Invis off of dodge and radar manip with smoke if needed
Win 1v1 with unsuspecting target.
Volatile from Gyrfalcon will trigger Loose Change (which is getting a HUGE buff) increasing both strafe speed and cranking AA to nearly 100.
Winning the duel will make us both invis and give wallhacks from Stylish Executioner and create an orb off of Reaper.
Pick up Orb for Surgex2 (or 3 if you can fit it)
With x2 Surge 3C will hit for 227.89 (T8) and x3 will be 230.07 (T10). All while starting the fight off radar, invis, and with Volatile Rounds and a juiced Brya's from Loose Change ready to go.
Now is this better than just 3 tapping with a 140 or 120 Hand Cannon? No. Of course not. BUT keep in mind that if that 140 or 120 misses a single crit, their ttk instantly tanks. Play smart, play from range, and hit your shots and you'll run circles around them.
This new update really brings life to the Crucible and I can't wait to try more stuff again.
