LONG OVERDUE THANK YOU

Hi everyone! This is Klaus coming to you live from a whirlwind of a year. I know there’s probably no one left on here, but I’d like everyone to have a chance to read this even if it’s three months from now.

I want to thank everyone who stuck with us for a whole year after the admin turn around. I know we weren’t always the best admins, but I had a lot of fun with everyone. Kpop-Xmen has meant a lot to me for a long time. It took me from lowly college earthling to full-time-job-haver. 

I don’t wanna make this too long because I’m not ready to have full closure on this, but it’s safe to say that this community will no longer be updated. Thank you to the people who messaged us during this time to ask about our activity. KPXM as a concept has seen so many people filter through and I appreciate everyone. From 2012 to 2016, this rp has been the best time of my life.

If anyone comes poking around and wants to have a chat, or reminisce, I’d love to see what you guys are up to. Just hit me up @superxiu.

oh that’s a good question. i was thinking that it would involve both of the characters just so you can get more familiar with the other characters for future plotting purposes (i can’t even list all the times i’ve plotted with someone just because of a drabble lol). but, if you’re really struggling with a connection, you don’t have to include the character, or maybe include them in a very abstract way. just have fun with it! i always use drabbles to explore different styles of writing.

Hey! I'm having a really hard time using the new reblog system! Does anyone else have this problem?? Is there any way to change it? Thanks! - Ash-mun

UPDATE! the new xkit folks (here: http://new-xkit-extension.tumblr.com ) actually did fix this problem a while ago. if you have xkit, you should find “Editable Reblogs” under the extensions list and thus (hopefully) make this post obsolete. 

this sucks. i didn’t get the update until today so i was really confused about this ask. there a few low-tech solutions to this problem. one is to just mimic the reblog by writing “kpop-xmen” (your partner’s user name). highlight the word and add the link by clicking on the infinity symbol/hyperlink symbol in the pop up menu. and then add a colon at the end.

after that just copy and paste the reply. highlight it, and use the last arrow on the pop up menu to blockquote.

and write your reply down here.

just remember to click the little grey x so that tumblr doesn’t automatically include the previous replies.

you could also clear the old replies every time you reblog, or use a read more, so the extra reblog isn’t as much of a hassle. this would just prevent the dash from getting too clogged up.

html is sometimes easier for making posts on mobile. you can check it under the cut.

if you wanna do the same thing, but using html, you can start by clicking the gear on the top-right of your reblog and choosing “Text Editor: HTML”

MUTANT ABILITY: Petrification is the ability to paralyze a victim; making them unmovable for certain durations of time. Each duration is measured at how long the victim is exposed to the physical touch of the user. Small amounts of physical contact will result in paralysis; leaving the victim immobilized unable to perform any motor functions and leaving them unable to feel sensations. During longer periods of physical contact, the victim’s bodily-functions will slowly begin to solidify into a statue-like state.

WEAKNESS:

Direct contact with bare skin is required. Without it, this ability is virtually unusable.

Victims of small touches will be paralyzed upon contact. However, this paralysis is temporary and lasts anywhere from 15 minutes to a half an hour.

In order to solidify a victim’s bodily-functions, the user must remain in constant physical contact with the victim. If the contact is broken off, the effects will begin to recede and the victim will be left undamaged.

Petrification requires the user to expend large amounts of energy when using it. Thus constant usage will slowly drain the user until leaving them completely depleted. At this time, the user can only solidify bodily-functions once ever 24 hours. Whereas they may paralysis 4 victims every hour with a half an hour of rest time in between.

ORIGINS: It was too easy to give into temptation. Hood drawn down low to cover your eyes and mop of unruly hair. Crowded streets bursting with families and avid shoppers who wouldn’t notice when their pockets were slightly lighter than before. One simple brush of fingertips on exposed skin and the muscles seize up. A moment frozen in time and you were whisking wallets and valuables away. A simple grin and half a chuckle before you were disappearing into the safety of the surrounding crowd; moving onto your next victim.

‘Why don’t you put that ability to much better use?’ You have nothing against peace but chaos is always a bit more fun. Grimalkin. Trickster, familiar, a nose where it isn’t needed.

MUTANT ABILITY:

Memory manipulation allows the Barom to control memories in others as well as himself. This manifests as memory erasure, implantation, overwrite, and reading. Memory erasure includes not only the selective removal of specific memories but also removing the user from other people’s memories. Memory implantation, as the name implies, usually comes in the form of inserting oneself into a target’s memories. Lesser used forms are that of traumatization or paramnesia that involves the distortion of memories. The last two applications involve the ability to read another person’s memories as and the ability to overwrite memories.

WEAKNESS:

the user must be in some sort of physical contact with his target to have access to the desired target’s memories and thus able to manipulate it

only one person can undergo this process at one time. using it on multiple people at the same time not only would cost a lot of concentration and energy but the chances of destroying memories would be higher.

unexpected memories or strong emotional memories may overwhelm the user which may lead to the confusion of memories (the user believing the memories to be his own)

users of psychic shields are immune to this ability

ORIGINS:

photographs strewn across the floor, a film playing in the background by some amateur hand — a bit blurred with unfiltered sound, decibels too loud. nothing else has ever called out to barom before. it is the moving pictures, the act of recording, and the choice to remain behind the lens that he sells his soul for.

( somewhere along the lines misery gathers like a fog. a monster of worry and loneliness is created out of expectations and what once was called happiness becomes a fear of abandonment.

Bones: Angry, aggressive, merciless, ruthless, impulsive, loyal, cunning, intelligent (much smarter than he looks), Brash, Honest

MUTANT ABILITY: Divided Mind; Ash shares his body with another being who goes by the name Bones. Ash himself has the ability of bone manipulation which allows him to use his bones in either an offensive (e.g creating a spike from the palm of his hand, etc.) or defencive (e.g. Creating a shield from his ribs.). He can also regenerate himself (mainly his bones) instantaneously. He can also change the properties of his bones; the density for strength, make the hollow for better speed and agility

Bones has no real power of his own, other than Berserker Physiology. When Bones comes to the fore, Ash’s eyes change from their normal brown, to a bright, unnatural blue, with a slit for a pupil, with black sclera. When Bones activates his own power, he gains the ability to gain strength through his own anger, and he can use Ash’s power to his own advantage. However, Bones usually utilizes Ash’s power in a way that makes him look… inhuman. An armour made of bone begins to form, covering his entire body with the substance, including his face, which is covered by a mask. When Bones activates his power, he also suppresses any pain, before using it to hurt his foe.

WEAKNESS: Ash can only manipulate his own bones. He can manipulate other people’s bones, but with very high difficulty, as he must be touching the bones themselves. Also, using his power is very painful, as he still breaks the skin. His entire body is covered in scars, save his face (since he tries his best to keep his face looking normal.).

When Bones takes over, Ash usually has no recollection of what happens, unless Bones decides to show him. Bones can also ‘push’ Ash to the back burner, so to speak. This can happen at any given time, but happens more frequently through combat…hence Ash tries to refrain from any combat. He can also take over when Ash falls asleep.

ORIGINS: Ash had always heard of the Institute - ever since he could remember, the name would pop up in certain conversations. Usually between his parents, and it was usually talked about in hushed tones, like it was some sort of dark secret. When Ash began to show signs of his power, his parent’s, without hesitation, packed him off to the Institute.

Musa, the city of art and fashion, invites all citizens of the The Land of Wonder to the annual Summer Mask Festival. Dress up in a handmade mask or dress down, but come enjoy the very best street vendors, artisan crafts, and the cool river side breeze Musa has to offer! The list of events is as follows: 

RIVER PARADE - Held once in the morning, by light of the sun, and once in the evening, by candlelight, the River Parade invites all to watch a colorful boat procession with floats created entirely of roses and other flowers native to the Musan island. Travel by water taxi is open and encouraged. Come surround yourself with these beautiful displays or watch from the shoreline. 

TASTE OF MUSA CHALLENGE - Come celebrate summer down by the docks at our famous Taste of Musa: a gaggle of locally-owned, premier restaurants and bars. Visit any participating restaurant and eat one menu item from the Special Taste Menu at each of the participating 11 locations and win a 60 Gold gift certificate to the restaurant of your choice. 

SPOOKY STORIES - At the city square, surrounded by the architecture of old, come sit by any of 10 campfires to tell and listen to the frightening true experiences and urban legends unique to Musa or the The Land of Wonder. Each campfire is controlled by a staff member, who also acts as the facilitator.

ARTISAN STREET - Beginning at the South End, right next to the train station, vendors from all over The Land of Wonder have set up shop to display various artisan crafts and original inventions. Don’t be afraid to look around, shop, and talk with the owners.

Admin Note: You can basically do anything in and around Musa during this event. Nothing is off-limits. If your character will be wearing a costume, you may make a post with a picture and description. Tag all your posts accordingly, especially with trigger warnings and nsfw.
