Hi, yes, no, you’re not hallucinating! This is, in fact, a real post! Don’t get too excited though, this is just a little update. Okay, maybe you can get a little excited because i kind of am??

I just came back from my thesis presentation, thus (hopefully) concluding my three years of hard work and studying and my second bachelor’s degree (i have to retake two exams this summer but let’s ignore that rn lol).

It’s been a year. The worst year of my life, to be honest. I didn’t know whether i’d even come back on here but looks like I can’t stay away after all. Not yet, at least. I still have some unfinished business ;)

indefinite hiatus

Yeah so i think this doesn’t really come as a surprise seeing as i’ve been inactive for god knows how many months now... I’m really sorry to announce this though. I wish it was different.

Things are a mess in my life atm, family drama has been building up and exploding several times over the past months and i feel drained, exhausted, depressed and constantly stressed and anxious. There’s a lot of hurt and nastiness infesting my daily life and i’m incapable of escaping it since i don’t have the financial means to leave. I feel like i’m living on survival mode and i’m even struggling to keep up with college, which is important i finish and graduate so i can get out and finally start focusing on my own life. 

I was excited to start writing again but honestly i don’t have the juice to even get up in the morning sometimes, let alone work for school or practice any hobbies. I hope things will get better soon. Until then i must put this page on pause for an indefinite amount of time and say goodbye. I’ll miss you all and i hope i can come back. I’m sorry.

Hi again Eva! I came up with some more Nocturne questions I’m curious about.

1) If there was someone who wasn’t affected by Yoongi’s voice and beauty (or not interested), would Yoongi continue to make attempts to seduce them or would he just leave them be?

2) Would it be possible for Yoongi to have kids (from all the sexual activity and stuff)? If so, has he ever had kids with any of his companions?

1) Hmm I'd say there is no such thing as /not/ affected by Yoongi's pull, it's stronger than a human's instinct or gut feeling and heavily influences a person's free will to the point where all human beings will want to see where the sound comes from (kind of like a siren's song) and once they see him they're hooked, stuck like a fly in a spider's web :) he has never not gotten what he wanted!

2) Good question! That would actually be really cute, like a little family, but for the sake of the plot i'm going to say no, because his life is cursed to be tragic and being able to reproduce would mean he would be alone much less than what Aphrodite wanted as his (parents') punishment

Hey there! I meant to ask a few more questions to continue from the other 2 I sent a while back but hope you don't mind.

1. Out of curiosity, would you be fine if I were to ever make a continuation to Nocturne (I'd give you credit of course for inspiration)? It came out of nowhere but I even have a bit of a plot. What if Yoongi found y/n a few centuries later, (say the early 20th century, or it could even be someone else), and they even build a house together in the forest to adapt with how time changed up to present day. And they're all happy together until y/n slowly starts remembering (from dreams and whatnot), which makes Yoongi paranoid because he doesn't want y/n to leave. Maybe he could become possessive (but not yandere level, but I wouldn't want to glamorize it either) until y/n finds out the truth and there's a bittersweet ending where Yoongi lets y/n go because he loves her. Maybe there could somehow be a conflict where Aphrodite wants to kill Yoongi for good when he develops a desire to meet his parents when y/n starts remembering(?), idk how it would all work but I'm really just rambling. I also feel so conflicted to just let it be standalone

2. After I asked about the nectar water (but before you answered it), I came up with a theory that maybe Eros/Cupid took pity on Yoongi and enchanted the water around him to make whoever drinks it falls in love with him despite how questionable it is since he can't break Aphrodite's curse. But obviously that's not true but no biggie lol.

3. Would it be ok if I posted fanart based on Nocturne and some of your other fics? I actually made a few sketches when I first read itic but I never posted them 'cause I think it'd be weird if I didn't ask first lol.

Hi again! I have a few more things I wanted to ask about Nocturne because I forgot to last time lol. Do you have in mind how many years Yoongi has stayed in the forest? How do you think he would be like during modern day? Maybe I could see him browsing social media and dating apps (if the forest he inhabits has WiFi at least). And since he sings to lure people to him, do you imagine him singing any songs in particular while writing the fic? For me, I thought of him singing “set me free” from his d2 album irl, given how it aligns with his character. As for y/n, was it your intention for her background to correlate to the Salem witch trails? It would be a nice touch if it was😊 Not that any other ideas outside of that is bad lol. That’s what I guessed at least lol.

(Continuing from my last ask because of my forgetful ass lol) Also, does Yoongi (and maybe y/n still) wear clothes? If they do, I’d guess they’d use stuff like leaves and/or vines. Another thing, do you have a concept how the water makes people all lovey dovey and stay with Yoongi? Did he make it himself? Or did like the gods or other nymphs give it to him? Hi sweet love!! I'm so sorry for the late reply, my mental health hasn't been the best because this semester is seriously fucking with it but i have a decent amount of energy today so i'm going to answer your questions!

1. Yoongi has been living in the forest for, well, probably millennia, give or take a few centuries depending on which particular era you would place Y/N. Seeing as i described her as being on the run for the town's witch hunt, I'd say around 1300-1400. Yoongi has been on earth for at least a millennium B.C. and has been confined to the forest soon after he was created.

2. In modern times, I'd see this Yoongi well-adjusted in a self-sufficient mansion in the forest, like the ones you see on Pinterest! For fun's sake let's say he does have Wifi, deep in the middle of a random forest lol, it's fiction so it's possible. He would indeed browse through dating apps but that doesn't necessarily mean harvesting humans would become so much easier, since generally they've been warned not to meet up with strangers in remote places. Still, he doesn't have to wait for centuries until someone wanders in lost and alone to strike anymore. However few, there are still people who are reckless/curious enough to come to him of their own accord. I mean, look at him, even I would at least consider it! Oh, and he has a hot tub now! Literally it would be paradise on earth, you're just not allowed to leave but honestly sign me up lmao

3. I did not necessarily have any songs in mind, I think i just went on like the basic siren vibes like the one from Harry Potter when Harry had the golden egg he had to open under water. That kind of vibe. Or like the elven songs from LOTR. But it can be whatever you imagine it to be!

4. As for Y/N, I love that your mind went to the Salem witch trials! It can be that, too, if you want! Maybe for me it was a few centuries earlier but it doesn't really matter all that much, it can be during that time as well! I haven't specified the exact period so that you could fill it in as you please.

5. Yoongi never wears clothes in the forest, not even in winter. He created a micro-environment with the most ideal circumstances and comfortable temperature and climate. Clothes would be a bother and have no use for someone who's alone for sometimes centuries on end and animals don't care about nudity lol. When Y/N joins him, she won't be wearing her clothes ever again either, more like a 'adam&eve' kinda vibe, not even vines or leaves because why bother haha

6. The love inducing nectarwater is made by Yoongi simply by existing in it, it's a nymph thing I thought would be cool. It's how in some lore you hear about fae or nymphs giving the humans something to eat that makes them forget about time and makes them want to stay, from there on I applied it to the water. He has abilities, like the luring singing, hypnotising and enchanting the water that aid him in trapping his victims.

Hello there! I’m fairly new to your tumblr and I love your stories! If it’s ok asking, I had a question about Nocturne. Is the ending supposed to be ambiguous or did you intend to give a direct answer with what happens? Nymph!Yoongi kept saying he wasn’t a threat but yet y/n seemed pretty enamored by his charms. He also said and did some shady stuff like him saying “if only” (he could’ve been referring to something else though) and giving her the water to drink. And the last sentence says along the lines of “another soul ever returned”. Then again, with her situation before their encounter, it may or may not be that bad however she ended up 🤔

The ending of Nocturne was indeed meant to be ambiguous, though I left clues here and there throughout the story to speak to the reader’s own imagination or to help them in a certain direction! That said, I do have my own version of the ending that’s still implied in what i wrote.

You can compare Yoongi in this story to a kind of siren, luring humans in with his voice and trapping them there with him forever (or until their mortality catches up on them). His intentions are not exactly evil or malicious, but they are selfish. Y/n here was enthralled by his voice and his beauty and wanted him on her own accord, but he made sure she’d never leave the second her lips touched the lotus petals to drink from the water. From that moment on she was trapped by her own feelings of love and desire, her sense of time and space are gone and she never even wants to think about leaving. It’s like he’s a beautiful spider who made a web of gold and honey, where the fly wouldn’t even notice the impending danger because it believes it’s in paradise.

“If only” said he, because he wished they could be together for as long as he exists, but he knows it’s not possible because he is immortal and humans are not. Y/n mentioned she’d be hungry for as long as there are courses, but she’d never see the end of them before she dies. So basically, he keeps every human young and beautiful and next to him, loves them and cares for them, but he knows their days are numbered, in the end, and so another soul (y/n) will never leave this forest again. And yet, like you said, it’s an infinitely better fate for her than the alternative 😂 i mean I wouldn’t be mad either if it was me lmao sign me up for that!

Okay i realised i need to narrow down the wips i want to work on because at this rate i won’t be able to actually post anything in the foreseeable future SO i was thinking of limiting myself to these and hoping i’ll have enough inspiration for them to finish at least one of them soon-ish:
