It REALLY is fucking funny how there is genuinely a distinct third faction in AI discourse on this site that is not "Pro-AI" but "The anti-AI crowd is talking about divine sparks of creativity and shit and I'm not about that"

Every Youtube tutorial for every hobby I have sounds like this to me:
Here's my hot tips for getting into [Creative Hobby]. If you can't figure it out by the end of this guide you should GIVE UP.
1: Your ideas SUCK. If you have an idea that you're passionate about FUCK YOU. If you don't spend 10,000 doing some boring menial shit before even attempting to make something you care about, I DON'T EVEN WANT TO TALK TO YOU.
Which is crazy because I got good at half of this shit by relentlessly bashing my head against whatever huge idea I had at the time for hours until I got bored and started a new idea. Meanwhile the menial shit that gets suggested makes me want to drop dead. If reconstructing pong 1000 times works for you then great but please stop acting like it's the only possible way to improve.

I think Egg should be allowed to have a big ass fuck off gun. I think she would be responsible with it probably.

As a kid I didn't have an email, so making an account meant asking my parents, who got weird about internet stuff, to use theirs. This wasn't a me thing, my friends at the time tended to have the same problems.
The guest functionality made it possible to get into the game for long enough to decide I even wanted to ask, and then, when I was hanging out with friends at the library or whatever, it made it possible for me to show them the game! Plus, at the time I didn't really care about the chat, I just wanted to play Survive the Disasters or whatever. Really what got me to sign up was the cosmetics.
It's not really an issue anymore considering kids just casually have email addresses and unfettered internet access at all times now apparently, but for it's time it made it more accessible to a younger target demographic who wouldn't have played it otherwise.
thinking on it what was the point of guests like what problem did they even solve it's not like making an account took forever or cost money or anything but sure come play this insanely stripped down version of our game (you cant even talk) if you cant be bothered to do like five minutes of setup
