I’m about to beat the game for the second time and I’m still completely taken by #Astarion’s arc. 🥺

Wish there was even more back ground lore exploring the characters lives before the events of the game.

This is how I imagine Astarion spends his night in the city before getting tadpoled and finding a moment of respite.

Meet the Artist: @juubli

Hello! I'm Jasmine (She/Her) , an artist working in the animation industry. I do everything from character design, location design, to art direction and visual development. I've recently art directed my first short feature called Rocket Saves the day! @aero.the.toller is my fur baby and my greatest source of inspiration. I love to eat and I hate exercising. When I'm not outdoors taking photos of Aero, I'm inside my artist cave playing video games and procrastinating on doing more art. :) I use a Cintiq for work but an iPad for doodles! I prefer the thin Cintiq pen to the regular thick one~ In case you can't tell by the vast amount of Baldur's Gate fan art that I have recently created, it has become my favorite game of all time!

I’m still slightly dazed that I got an FXfeature from @imaginefxmagazine in issue 235!

I subscribed to this magazine in my first years in art school and had cut out my favourite pieces to put on my desk/wall as inspiration. I remember picking up my first copy and being so awed and inspired and thinking that it would be so amazing one day if I could learn to draw and paint like any of the artists featured on it.

Never have I ever thought one day I would actually see myself on there! (Still feeling so much imposter syndrome like it isn’t real!)

Not to mention I got to featuring my best fur pal Aero and my #1 baldurs gate husband 😂

Can’t resist drawing my evil durge character from the game waha! After 250 hrs playing with mods have added another 100 hrs to my play time. I’m trying to play…charismatic scheming evil but MAN it’s HARD when my beloved NPCS have to die for me to experience the other half of the time. 😫

Also accidentally killed Minthara again because my boy Astarion crit too hard.

So far I made it to act 2 in honor mode with this char. Wish me luck. 🥺

Some recent studies! Sometimes I’ll look at the reference in full color and do the study in b/w - and sometimes the reference in b/w and try to design the colors myself but occasionally bring colors back as an aid/guide. These exercises really help me understand affect of light on value.

Been doing some shape exercises with highlighters! It’s been very helpful in forcing me to group details together as opposed to trying to render everything.

And of course, after drawing a bunch of sculptures, I had to try the technique on Astarion. 🫣🤭🥰

What I imagine Astarion sneaks off doing while my Tav is sorting through the 999 items in the camp chest and meticulously dyeing the outfits.

I started the origin runs and oh my god he was so happy to be in the sun after getting off the ship what a gut punch after playing through the story twice already.

I need to give him some moments of relaxation in my head cannon but also practice painting grass. I have also made this into a print on my store <3
