O canada, my beloved

Well, I haven't been here much but heyaaaah!

So, after the turmoil of a weekend lived in Barcelona a couple weeks back, where I didn't even find the words to comment on how cool it was watching the race from the Main Stand, I'm back.

It took a week to deal with the fact that we have to wait another year to go back there, but it was awesome. Especially with a Merc 2-3 on Sunday, which was memorable. What a result, what a feeling seeing the boys up there, what a feeling see it pretty closely. No words.

But now it's time for a very lovely track that I hope brings a tone of chaos this weekend. So, time to check all parts of this. I'll have a late schedule this weekend so Saturday and Sunday, I'll be watching during work or after at home probably. We'll see how much work we have first.

Press conference - Thursday

I honestly haven't been able to watch the interviews because of my schedule and a tone of things I had to do these days, but I just need to comment on Lewis crushing Kevin about his age 🤣

My dude is just one year older than me, leave him alone! 💀 We know he's a dad but he doesn't look old, for fuck's sake Lewis 🥲

Free Practice 1 - Friday

So, the FP1 has started pretty badly for Alpine in general. Pierre stopped on track trying to restart his car and Esteban still in his pit. The session was Red Flagged due to Gasly's impromptu stop on track.

This is taking way too long now for a car stopped on track, but that's just my opinion. What do I know. But it's too long 🤣 Now seriously, the car has been long gone, so what is really going on?

Okay, so apparently it's a CCTV issue, since it's not working and therefore the session cannot be restarted. It looks like it might take a while or even the whole session.

And indeed, the session has been deemed "cancelled" and FP2 will run for one hour and a half instead of just the usual one hour. Super fun for those at the track especially, I bet.

Free Practice 2 - Friday

90 minutes to go in a session where they need to try it all today. Must be stressful, I don't remember any other time when this happened (not that it never happened, I just never saw it).

Not much going on until Nico's engine went to shit causing a Red Flag, generating some very nasty-looking smoke they had to put out with fire extinguishers. It reminded me of Kimi's engines back in 2005, almost every race. Ah, the good times (the year, not Kimi's burning engines weekend in weekend out 🤣).

The Alpines are fucked this weekend, what the hell is this? Between Esteban causing yet another Red Flag and Pierre trying to control the car and barely getting out alive, I don't know what the hell is going on with them. I hope they can fix it for tomorrow.

That rain was something I expected more of in Barcelona, but hope this time comes in time. And indeed, in Canada we trust. That looks fucking insane. This weekend might just make my year.

Lewis ending up P1 after more than half the session or almost all of it at the very back of the list is a sight for sore eyes. One I hope keeps repeating itself but in Quali/the race. If only that 3rd one was Sharl...

Free Practice 3 - Saturday

Well, way too late after getting back from work, but I have FP3 in the background. I just see rain and more rain.

I'm just trying t watch a little without falling asleep if possible, but nothing's going on besides a couple incidents due to such heavy rain (thank goodness in Barcelona the rain was so light despite the dark clouds over us). Carlos spinning and losing half his car around the track was the one that took the cake after a few minor issues.

I'll watch Quali directly tomorrow, I can't take how tired I actually am right now...

Literally back at Montmeló this year 😎

Hello there from the sunny/stormy/rainy/cloudy, no-one-knows-what-else Barcelona!

Marina and I are back at the Barcelona-Catalunya Montmeló race track, but unlike last year, we’re now enjoying the view from the first rows of the Main Stands of the track. We thought it best since last year we nearly melted under the 36º sun without any cover on the stands. What we didn’t know is that the Main Stand doesn’t completely cover you from the sun/rain, at least not where we are seating. We might get it right next season 🤣

Anyway, so this time around we’ve come pretty early plus we’ve actually tried our best to see what was going on around the Fan Zone and we’ve seen a couple of drivers talking…. What a fucking delight. Seriously. Despite the blazing sun, the melting heat (I truly thought my skull was disintegrating) and some truly stupid people, the experience was fantastic. I was honestly surprised by some of the drivers, who we didn’t expect at all to be so sweet and nice and 🥰 Others were as we expected, others we obviously ADORED and there was one I didn’t want to see, and luckily we didn’t. I guess that’s all the luck we’re gonna get this weekend.

Lando and Oscar were meh. I didn’t like any of them. I already didn’t, but yesterday solidified my opinion on them. BUT the biggest surprises for me were Alex and Logan, they were like the sweetest guys ever. Alex already gives that vibe although I didn’t quite like him, but Logan really is like the nicest dude. He might not be the best driver, but they both won me over.

Zhou, Valtteri, Nyck and Yuki made the rest of my day. Not so much into Valtteri (nothing against the guy, he’s just there, he’s nice and that’s it), but Zhou, Nyck and Yuki are the CUTEST. God, how could we not!? Adorable. We even saw Toto speaking right before FP2 and man does that guy have a hold on my heart now. He’s hypnotic.

Today we saw more interesting drivers in the morning, starting with our favorite Frenchmen, Estie Bestie and Pierre. People were booing at them even to their faces, which was very annoying since none of them deserved it at all, but many of us tried to make them feel the best we could, and apparently we managed so that was good. We had the Ferrari boys just afterwards and saying that Charles is the cutest and a sweetheart is an understatement. How can I love someone that much? I could eat his face when he smiles. He even tried saying a couple things in Spanish and it was so funny and adorable, and Carlos even played along calling him “icónico”. It was a beautiful thing.

Afterwards came Kevin, Nico and Checo. Yes, only Checo. We manifested, we thought that maybe if he saw how they started treating Esteban and Pierre in the beginning, that he might get a worse treatment than that (and I can confirm he would’ve), so we hoped he wouldn’t show up. Prayers were answered, my friends. Never liked Checo but I have to give it to him that he was fun to watch, making jokes and being super nice. Obviously Kevin and Nico were fantastic. I can’t stress enough how beautiful they’re in person, especially Kevin. It’s insane how gorgeous he looks in person, so ethereal, so unbothered. Absolute winner. They had a very cool moment at the end. Overall, 10/10 would recommend these guys.

Lastly, we had Lewis and George in front of us. Absolute angel, Lewis. The purest heart. The purest smile. Just grateful for all the support. I can’t say anything that’ll do him justice, because there’s not. Nothing’s enough.”

I’m not really gonna comment on the FP sessions because watching all of it live and having the big screens so far away this time (further and also smaller than you’d think, believe me) we haven’t even seen most of the footage and we have missed quite a bit of images and details to be able to comment properly. However, it mostly went smoothly except maybe FP3 since it started raining and poor Logan crashed. He looked defeated afterwards when he came back to the pitlane.

Anyway, so I’ll update tomorrow with a few pictures of the straight in front of the pitlane. We’ll see how it goes 🤞🏻

What could've been and never was in Monte Carlo

Hey there!

So I've been checking out Quali results at work with one of my colleagues, who's also a fan, and we were watching when there weren't any clients around us 🤪

Quali - Saturday

Just a few minutes into Q1 Checo decided it was a good time go just crash for the fun of it. Very nicely done, my friend. One out, one to go. Another flying car in the same day, how about that. There goes another Red Flag. Might as well have an interesting GP all along?

Carlos bothering Sharl almost at the end of Q1. Meh. Some quick surprises like Yuki on P1. Oh, good times ending quickly. Lewis at the edge of the abyss, saved by the bell basically.

Let's see Q2. Can't remember now who dropped on this one.

Seriously, is Lewis truly struggling that much? OMG and he's starting his lap right at the time limit for Q2... I know he made it through but I might kill him anyway. This guy loves giving people heart attacks.

Yuki is killing it today, he's right there in Q3, baby!! So if the rumors about Marko giving Nyck an ultimatum are true, honestly this isn't looking good for him this time either. He's achieved nothing so far this season. So much promise last year... I know the AT is a tractor, but I don't know how much he'll last.

Alonso and Carlos at the top... No, please. I hate to see this 🤣 The Alpines are doing a fantastic job this weekend, it's looking nice for them. HAHAHA ESTIE BESTIE P1! WHAT IS GOING ON TODAY?

Sharl trying to get his well-deserved pole, AND HE DOES IT!!!!! But shit happens and Alonso gets back up there. Grandpa, stop it now. And there comes... that person, with the illegal car. Obviously. Oh, what a surprise.

Race - Sunday

So, I've actually watched the full race with a bowl of popcorn just lying there on my bed and just tried to "enjoy" it on its own, without commenting on everything through here at the same time I was actually watching it happen. I have to say, although I haven't really enjoyed it, I've found myself more relaxed while watching, just enjoying the peace after a good day at work.

In all honesty, I've seen a tiny bit of the race at work with one of my coworkers because she's also a fan, and we watched the chaos unfold after it started raining.

There's just been a few things worth commenting on, from my perspective, since the race has pretty much been a bore:

Estie Bestie P3. Seriously, the Alpines have worked very, very well during the whole ass weekend, but Esteban today was on top of the world. He made a train(wreck) and ended up keeping his original position. Well deserved, if you ask me. He's done nothing wrong and earned his spot.

Lewis P4 after the disappearance of the "no-sidepod" concept on the W14, sounds promising, plus he's done a great job as he tends to do, but I'm still not confident.

Carlos and Checo did everything wrong today. We could definitely add George to this mix, but I don't even want to wast energy on this topic.

I don't see it as a surprise that Fraudstappen won. I mean, illegal car aside (?), what else did anyone expect? Excitement? Surprises? Right now F1 is synonym to this person winning it all without even trying or, God forbid, making an effort or fighting for his spot, like at all. Is that really what's left of the exciting sport Formula 1 used to be? Because at least Lewis, Sebastian, Fernando, Kimi, Rosberg... They all had a competition, even though Mercedes were far more superior by far in most occasions, they had to work for it still, so... Where's the actual work or so called "brilliance"?

Anyway, next week's Barcelona. The time finally came around and I'll be going on Thursday and I'm hoping with all of my heart that it doesn't rain. Not because of the race, it would make it that much more interesting, but the parking lot... It's all dirt, if it rains, that's gonna be the worst, so I'm hoping for a mundane thing like sun and dryness to go on the whole weekend, for our sake 🤣

High hopes in Monaco after the cancellation of Imola

Heya!

Well, I was originally planning on writing last week after the announcement of the GP in Imola being cancelled due to the floods going on in the Emilia Romagna region, but between my shitty shifts and exhaustion, I couldn't even think about it.

It was a sad thing, but it was the necessary decision. For once, the FIA was quick to decide what was best and also for once, they made the right choice. Just wish people in the area were all okay...

This weekend I'm watching it all after work, so yeah I'll be late once again. On another note, we started this race weekend with the news of Honda teamming up with Aston Martin starting 2026 and rumors about Yuki being a possibility to join Alonso. That would be funny tbh. Also, Mercedes FINALLY got rid of the "no sidepods" concept on the car. Really hope this levels things, at least a tiny bit (I'm expecting no miracles).

Anyway, onto the actual purpose of this post, so I'm starting at last.

Press conference - Thursday

First press round and not really anything interesting except for Yuki's take on the floodings in Italy. I'm here just waiting for the second round to start so that I can watch the chaos unfold 🤣

Chaotic Sharl is on and I'm here for it, "Hello, Lewis" sounded like the funniest shit in the world with that laughter of his. Seriously, I can't 😗 I do love those Lewis-Sharl interactions, they're so cute seriously and they'd make an insane duo, lots of fun stuff would be sent our way for sure.

Piarles clowning together about the football match a few days ago and how they just clashes into each other despite being in the same team. Really, boys? 🥲

Do people still think, given what we've seen this year so far and also last season, that Ferrari is a good choice for Lewis? I mean, yes Mercedes is not going through their best moments right now, but Ferrari? After so many disasters and making their own driver lose the chances of gaining a championship? I love Ferrari, but come on.

Free Practice 1 - Friday

Finally some movement in the streets of Monte Carlo and I'm actually thinking about all the new rumors that we might get after the race. I've been waiting for this weekend just for this 🤣

I know there have been a few Red Flags today so I'm just here waiting for them. I don't care how boring this track can get, I just love it and nothing's gonna change that. Ever.

Sid the Sloth is crying on the radio. What for? He has a fucking missile despite that much complaining and whining about it.

Not much else going on, pretty calm session for now. Apart from Sargeant having some kind of problem, nothing else to say. And I obviously spoke too soon, since Nico span a little bit too hard and fucked up his rear left tyre, causing a Yellow Flag that turned into a Red Flag. First of the day.

Sharl probably touched the wall or so, and right afterwards Albon crashed on his side, so the session was Red Flagged permanently now, with 3 minutes to go. Quiet one despite those problems, but not the worst news possible considering.

Free Practice 2 - Friday

SEB IS AT THE PADDOCK, I REPEAT, SEB IS AT THE PADDOCK 🥹 PLEASE SEB, COME BACK TO US, WE NEED YOU 😭

Besides different drivers trying out setting times and so on, there's been nothing going on. I do love that tunnel, though. That must be scary as fuck, honestly.

Aaaaand Carlos tries to goes as close to the wall as possible but crashes. Fantastic job causing another Red Flag. Quite a few drivers have gone very, very close but have managed to get out unscathed. I guess it's damn luck (on top of skill obviously, they're going over 200kph).

Commentators are talking about the future 2026 PUs and honestly, if the regulations for that year are as bad as the ones introduced in 2022, this will just get worse by then.

Maybe tomorrow something else will happen, especially during Quali, which I'll obviously watch late.

Free Practice 3 - Saturday

Well, I already know what happened in Quali today, but just gonna watch in order first so that I can finish this one post, I don't want extra tabs open on my browser right now, it's been a tough day at work 🤪

So Estie Bestie stopped in the middle of the tunnel (on the side anyway), but managed to get back to the pit lane, so at least nothing scary going on.

Wasn't Laurent Mekkies supposed to be in Alpha Tauri by now? Or did I miss something? I keep seeing him on the Ferrari pit wall 🤔

Honestly, nothing going on in FP3 so I was just watching memes on IG the whole time. Oh Jesus, and Lewis against the wall all of a sudden?! What the hell. That car being moved by the crane.... Was that really necessary, taking it so high!?

Red Flagged session so that means I'm gonna go watch Quali finally.

Quali - Saturday

First few minutes of Q1 not giving much, except for Nico drifting away almost against the wall. We might've had a laugh with this so early...

WHOA KEVIN!!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?????? Oh my goodness I almost shouted, that was scary, what was he thinking? 😭 Lewis ended up touching the wall, luckily he was super close to the pit lane, thank the stars... AND CARLOS NOW, WHAT IS GOING ON??? And it was just shown how Kevin scratched that wall as well.....

I hate this track. Can someone please stomp some sense into the damned FIA to stop building and using shitty tracks? Seriously, it's not funny anymore. Not justifying them, just trying to see reasons behind such actions. There were not enough images to really see properly what happened and why, so I'm just thinking about my first impressions. Mercedes really needing to rush into the track, what are they doing? They're out right now!!!! Oh my Lance, no.... 🥲

Starting Q2 while yawning so far, right now I'm not quite sure if it's because I'm beat or because this is the worst. Seriously, I think I might be on the verge of dislocating my jaw at this point 🤣

What are Mercedes doing today? Twice now. Are you kidding me?? There's like 2 minutes left, for fuck's sake. Mmmmmm WHAT? Mercedes what the fuck. I'm truly speechless. What was that?

This is far from the team I fell in love with back at the end of 2021, honestly. Not because they're not winning, obviously. But because they're just a shadow of what they used to be and I don't get it, personally. I get that you can mess it up developing such a complicated car with less money involved and new shitty regulations, but as a team doing these kids of things... Unbelievable.

I've checked out. I'm gonna watch Q3, but I'm terribly disconnected and just thinking about having a quick shower and dinner so that I can quickly go to bed. I'm actually falling asleep.

NO NO NO CHARLES NO!!!!!!!! RED FLAG, RED FLAG!!!! WHAT THE FUCK DID JUST HAPPEN!!!!!!! Oh my god, same place as yesterday, right at the end of Q3... Nope, too tired for this, more tomorrow, and I hope it's a doozy because otherwise I might as well lose my motivation altogether 🥹

Race - Sunday

Well, barely made it after taking a very cold shower, but here I am. I missed all the bullshit going around before the race, thankfully. The shitshow is about to begin. Am I excited? Nope. Do I want it to be short and over right now? Yep.

Very clean start in general, maybe there was something tricky at the back of the grid but for now no clue. Oh, apparently Piastri had a very good start and ate up a few people. Moving on. Sargeant pits because of a broken front wing. No idea what happened. Moving on as well.

Sharl takes Kevin amidst Sid the Sloth's tries and then they both lose position. Tell me again how that car's not illegal 🤣 Apparently, someone made a sandwich outta Lewis at the start. No idea who. Estie Bestie going flying over those turns.

This is just... Meh. Even Alonso and Sainz said to the Spanish media that Fraudstappen would be 1st by lap 25 at most. AT MOST. I mean, if that doesn't tell you anything, I don't know what will. Even they know it's a lost cause already. Pretty sad. And seeing how it's going, he'll be 1st by the time they're on lap 15, 20 at most and I don't think it'll take that long since Carlos is useless.

Meanwhile, Lewis is still P13 and Sharl is P8. Can this be any sadder? Don't think so. Are you really saying that the most interesting thing of this race might be Kevin, Sharl and Estie Bestie fighting? Unbelievable. It's somewhat exciting to watch, not gonna lie to you.

Oh dear God is Carlos really gonna be penalized? I'M FUCKING LIVING RIGHT NOW HAHAHAHA. OH YES, 5-SECOND PENALTY, LET'S GO!!!! If no one can beat the undesirables, at least we have this.

Now Lance and George are being investigating too. Of course I can't have anything nice.

I kinda blacked out for a minute. Not really, it's just... I'm not paying that much attention. This race is complete and utter bullshit. Just like this sport. The FIA wanted Mercedes (Lewis, but saying Mercedes is because that's the team he drives for, basically) out of the way, that's why they pushed these new regulations and instead of making it exciting as they promised they would, they just made RBR untouchable. That's it. No competition, no racing, no nothing. Absolutely heartbreaking, if you ask me. At least for what I gather, Lewis had competition all the way regardless of how crushingly powerful his cars were back then. He competed, not just drove to the sunset and forget about everyone else.

I just need someone to explain to me how the only 2 teams that breached the cost cap and were barely given a slap on the wrist for it, are the teams leading the championship and every single race, and why the fuck no other team is boicotting the sport or doing anything at all because of it.

I'm done with the race. I just hope both RBRs just crash against each other. It's the only chance of anything remotely interesting happening. So Fernando is watching the race ON THE SCREENS. I think that tells you everything that you need to know about this race.

The only interesting thing was seeing Lewis passing Sharl. That's it. Seriously, this needs to end.

I have nothing today after this. Seriously. No words on my end besides what I already said so far.

Good thing there's no race next week, I don't think I would've been able to take it.

First one in the US is here

Well, hiyah!

That gif made sense seeing all the spectacle going on in Miami since yesterday. Not a fan, but what can I do?

I'm starting to think about stopping this blog not even halfway through the season. Just because with a job with such random shifts and maybe only 2-3 free weekends (Barcelona being one of them since we're attending once again) until I'm done in October keeping it up seems kinda tedious ngl. I'll see what I decide in the next few weeks, I'm still getting used to the adult life again 🤣

Press conference - Thursday

I haven't really paid attention to what was said in the pressers, plus they didn't talk about anything interesting whatsoever.

The most interesting thing was about last weekend's drama between George and Sid the Sloth due to Crofty's question. George really is a mood right now. I mean, it was just an inchident, problem with a certain someone is still that he can't take it when someone pulls the same crap as he normally does.

But that's about it. Maybe tomorrow I'll pay more attention, but there's no promises.

Free Practice 1 - Friday

Well, in all honesty, I've watched the first session without watching it. I was drying my hair while FP1 was on and I didn't really pay attention.

There was some trouble for George apparently that they had to fix before he got back on track, the track is almost brand new since they changed the shitty ass tarmac so they all needed to try different set ups to see what works and what doesn't in this new bore of a circuit. Nothing new, all in all.

Hülkengberg did crash with like 20 or 25 minutes to go and the session was Red Flagged immediately. Quick job for once, wish the FIA took it this seriously every single time.

Other than that, the only interesting enough information is having George, Lewis and Sharl respectively on the Top 3. What a sight for sore eyes, am I right? 🥹

It might be a little too late to watch FP1 but I need to take advantage of the free Friday although I'm getting up early tomorrow for work...

Free Practice 2 - Friday

Okay, not the day to watch F1, truth be told. I'm getting ready for bed while I watch FP2 🤣 I'm being so unserious today it's actually funny. Anywho.

Grape Scotch (this reference might be too "obscure"), that save from Kevin!!!!! He missed the wall by less than nothing, phew!!!

Besides that especial someone having troubles with his car's insides, the rest has been really quiet. Even though I've been busy while watching, I've been paying more attention to this one, all for nothing.

SHARL AGAINST THE WALL, NOT AGAIN!!!!!!

Geez, thank goodness it was close to the end and nothing else happened. What a bore. When I wanted some excitement I didn't mean my boy crashing!!!

Anywho, more tomorrow. I might die of lack of sleep but I'll watch from my grave then 🤣

Free Practice 3 - Saturday

Ladies and gents, I'M NOT PAYING ATTENTION. You could say that I dislike this GP and you'd be right. It's not interesting, DRS zones have been shortened, nothing's going on. You name it.

I mean, there's really no point in watching this atm. I couldn't be any more bored. This race for me looks more like a circus than a sport. Well, nowadays all of them are, but Miami is the worst representation. It's more important having celebrities and events unrelated to the sport than the actual race weekend. It's sad. I miss the old F1 so much.

It's been painful to write this crap of a "summary", because you can't even call it that. So unmotivating 🤣

I'm sorry this is such a downer, not proud of it. But I feel like if I don't even try and watch it all and make a post and everything I'd be failing my resolution toward this blog.

Anyway, I'll watch Quali later. I hope it's more interesting. I really hope it is.

Trouble's definitely Bak-u for this one!

Seriously, why did I have to miss this weekend? I've been catching up on my home after work and holy hell! I'll say what I already have in mind if I confirm it after watching all the Sprint content from today.

Sprint Shootout - Saturday

Well, so for now what I can gather is that this crap is meant to be a Quali 2.0, for the Sprint race. That's what's so especial about it? Anyway, let's see how this goes.

Quite a few cars through that escape/way out (how do people actually refer to this in English???? I'm at a loss right now 🤣).

Aaaaand Sargeant hit the barrier and destroyed his right rear and he can barely move the car. Causes a Red Flag and Q1 is not gonna get restarted now. I now Williams retired him for the Sprint and honestly, I get it. That looks BAD.

10 minutes for Q2 and it's looking a little calmer than Q1 for now. And it definitely is, Stroll almost got lost in the mix but finally made it through. Pretty quiet, this one.

Time for Q3, i'm about to see Charles crushing it again today before the disasterclass 🥲 What a beaut. funny though I've just seen him crash 🤪 This guy's gonna end me, seriously. I have no clue how he even got the car to its rightful place. What a guy.

Onto the circus now.

Sprint Race - Saturday

Let's see now what everyone has been talking about for the last few hours.

HAHAHAHA George serving cunt right from the start. WHAT A KING! And Crystappen complaining about something he's done a thousand times to everyone, especially Lewis??? Oh boy, am I enjoying the karma!!!!

Omg Yuki noooooooo!!!! VSC deployed, that tyre right in the middle... Good thing they've already slowed down. Safety Car now deployed after Yuki's tyres haven't been properly fitted or is it that the car's is fucked? Damn.

Whoa what a restart!! What's going on with Fernando, what did he take!? 🤣

Sharl had nothing to do against Checo, that illegal car is just too much. He didn't even need to try, he just got there and ate him up. And Sid's engineer is just so funny, telling him he's done a good job not making contact with George, really on point tbh. Crybaby needs a reality check, even if it's that subtle.

I'm amused at how our dear friend the baby could have the nerve to tell George off about the crash. Are you serious, dude? And threatening him with crashing against him ON PURPOSE. Nobody sees the problem here? Honestly, I couldn't be prouder of George after his response. King. He chose violence and stuck to it today. Good for him.

And that's it, that's the most interesting thing that happened on the Sprint day and basically it went down right afterwards.

I seriously believe that FIA are not even thinking about the sport, they haven't been for quite some time now. Doing this at a track such a Baku, it's very risky. It might not be as dangerous as Jeddah, but it's still a pretty complicated or tricky race. Doing the Sprint there is just for the sake of the circus that can happen after the race itself since it's pretty damn boring otherwise.

Someday the worst will happen and someone will truly get hurt (if not killed) in one of these at a complicated track, and then we'll all cry. But clearly the FIA only think about the $ and the spectacle for the sake of the spectacle instead of thinking straight.

That's MY opinion. Feel free to disagree. But I really hate this crappy ideas.

Race - Sunday

I'm finally back from work so I'm gonna watch the clown show now. I know more or less what happened so not very excited about it, but I like to suffer.

Good start from Sharl and both RBR alost hitting each other. Why is it always "almost"? So unfair. Good start from Lewis and Lance. This is gonna last so little...

So, absolutely no one will mention the fact that IT'S NOT NORMAL to pass someone that fast even with DRS? Jesus, it's fucking insane.

Lance saying that he's not gonna attack Fernando. What a class act, this boy. Fernando, you know you don't deserve this kid. My poor baby, he might not know yet Fernando will definitely sacrifice hm given the chance if it means he'll get any advantage at all.

Pretty clean and boring race so far and it's only been 8 laps. Where is the exciting Formula 1 we were promised with the regulation change last year? Because I don't see it. I miss the actual Formula 1, the one we used to see years ago, so much rawer and chaotic in many ways. They wanted to take out Mercedes at all costs and they made this sport a huge crap. I remember how nervous and ecstatic I used to be watching this every race weekend. I really did have bad timing when I decided to come back to this.

Very clean pit stop for Lewis, thank goodness. Now we can see the RBR fighting, due to some trouble going on for Sid the Sloth. And De Vries broke his wheel, we get a Safety Car on the track now. What a surprise.

That restart will be so bad. I'm seeing it before I even have it on my screen. Aaaaand there we go. Lewis almost hitting the barriers, Fernando eating up Carlos like he's nothing (he really isn't), Lance right there too. And Lewis takes George!

But seriously, Carlos? How sad was that? Ouch, Lance touched the barrier! Hope he's good, he's doing a fantastic job today!! What happened in the pit lane with George? Didn't notice.

Okay, how hard is that Aston Martin? What kind of concrete did they use to build it? 🤣 Lance made a mistake now and went wide, and nos Lewis eats him up! Sorry, Lance, but this was bound to happen eventually!!

Pretty boring last few laps, like literally one of the most boring races in the last few months (counting 2022 too) because nothing is happening. And there's still almost half the race to be completed. Yikes.

Still 11 laps to go, and I can't yawn more than I already am. What a bore. Seriously, why am I like this? Why do I need to see this? And for what!? At this point I'm just thinking that as soon as this is done, I need to hang my clean clothes to dry, since I've left them in the washing machine until the races ends. This is saying A LOT.

George pitting in lap 50? Mmmm... WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED WHEN OCON WAS ENTERING THE PITS!? And no where comes George getting Fastest Lap!!!! Yes baby, he started off the weekend doing nothing of substance and now here he comes!

I just shut off the streaming since it's been enough. Too much, actually.

All in all, it was a crappy race. Really disappointed since this track is one of my faves.

Same plan next week, I'll watch after work, whenever that is since I have no clue what my schedules are 🤣 I'm too tired now to even check this before posting so...

Never been more glad that F1's Bak-u!

You guys know I can't just let it be without making the pun, right?

So, I have a new job and first week at it I'm free Wednesday and Thursday aaaaaand I have to work on the weekend, so I have to watch it all late 🥲

Anyway, since there's a Sprint race and I don't even know what else this weekend, I'll post today about, well, today. And on Sunday, I'll post about everything else.

Onto the good stuff, since I've checked my Twitter notifications every now and then during work hours to keep up at least, but now I need to watch.

Press conference - Thursday

It's been a little too long since Australia, as Yuki says. I'm honestly so stoked about the Franz Tost stepping down at the end of the season thing, Yuki just reminded me about the Merc admin being unhinged about it with Lewis' picture 🤣

I love how Kevin can't really be bothered about Günther's book. He sometimes reminds me of Kimi, without the 200% indifference. Isn't this turning into a gossip wall? I need to rethink commenting on the press conferences 🤪

I read on here something about Esteban talking about Australia saying that Charles, Pierre, George and him when they flew back together called themselves The Loser Club. I mean... poor babies, but yes 🤣

Lewis talking about his brothers is always something that touches my heart, because he's so proud of him. That's how it should be, but it's still endearing to see him talk about his family every time.

I also need to say that JAMES ALLISON IS FINALLY BACK. Oh dear God, let this be the time Merc turns it around. Seriously, we need James more than ever. I know Lewis will always be neutral commenting on the shitshow that Merc are pulling since 2021, but I am hopeful now.

Other than that I haven't heard much more that was interesting, so I'm gonna start watching today's stuff now.

Free Practice 1 - Friday

The one good thing about watching everything hours later is that you can skip all the time spent in the pits because of the Red Flags.

Yuki blasting his tyre, Carlos having trouble, Kevin stopping and Pierre with an engine on fire. What the hell... Obviously, getting a Red Flag after Pierre's car caught fire.

Anyway, in the mean, time, how beautiful is this city? I said it last year as well, it's absolutely stunning.

15 minutes to go and that's about it it seems... I might be wrong, not sure much more really happened. Well, like it wasn't enough.

And that was about it. We'll see what happens in Quali, I love this track and it can be quite the madness. Sure hope so.

Quali - Friday

Now that's one miracle that Alpine pulled with Pierre's car. Damn. Finally, Q1, here we go!

Ah, the slight hope of seeing Lewis P1. That will last very little. Zhou oversteering and skipping the turn was pretty lucky all things considered, since nothing happened and he could keep it where he needed.

DE VRIES CAUSES A RED FLAG! Geez, he lost it and crashed... He just went straight into the wall. Damn that was unlucky, he'll come out last on Sunday, if I'm not mistaken. Because this Quali was for Sunday... Right? I seriously have no clue how this works anymore 🤣

Now Carlos spins AND PIERRE'S OUT AGAIN!!! WHAT IS GOING ON TODAY!? Another Red Flag... Quite the madness to start with so soon.

I've had to pass a couple minutes of Q2 because I'm actually falling asleep at 11pm. I'm old, what can I say. Lewis clipping the wall, Carlos with some issue and letting Charles go by... George completely missing today. Odd day, for sure.

Carlos now going off again. Quite the afternoon today. And George is out for Q3. Whoa. He's really not done anything today.

Anyway, here comes the bride. Okay no, but finally something good for Charles now and I'm finally seeing it. SHARL WITH 0.00.00 DIFFERENCE TO SID THE SLOTH'S TIME. WHAT IS THIS. THIS GUY IS POSSESSED!!!!!

NOW THAT'S HOT!!!!!! My darling boy deserved this, finally!!!!! And that's brushing the TechPro barriers! Unbelievable, 3 years in a row!!! Lewis struggling but still getting P5. I hope he gets his chance tomorrow. He's suffered enough already.

Now that's a start to a weekend! Let's see what happens tomorrow during the Sprint Shootout and the Sprint Race. No idea so far what that is but hey, we'll see tomorrow.

No, I did not wake up to watch Quali at 7am. I mean, I could still be asleep but here we are 🤣

Quali - Saturday

Let's see what this mess of a weekend takes us now.

Sargeant having some trouble there. CHECO GOES OFF. YES!!!!! Red Flag and it's a RBR. Life is good. He'd been having a tone of trouble during FP3. But why is it never his damn teammate!?

That was a rather quick one, pretty quiet so far apart from the Checo snafu. Sharl is going through it apparently, poor boy is struggling.

Q1 is coming to an end and expectations are running wild at the moment.

Merc babies please proceed to move your asses out of the drop-out zone, I'm about to have a heart attack. LOL LANCE P1. There we go, babe!

I was gonna say "the Ferraris are fighting!" but I see Sharl getting P1 from Stroll and Carlos just being around. And Norris keeps just going off track like he's talking a walk.

That bird has been reborn after that near miss 🤣 How on Earth is Nico right there on the top? He's doing quite a good job lately. Lewis joining the party right at the end.

The battle begins, I know how this ends but seeing it myself hours later feels exactly as exciting as it would've at 7am.

LEWIS GOES P1!!! Shame it just lasts for a minute, but God does it feel right!

Rain is on the way and there's just time for one last push. Okay I believe I've just seen the reason why Sharl was all salty right after Quali.

What the fuck was Nico doing? Shit and Alonso gets P2, Jesus this is a fucking nailbiter!! But here come the Merc boys, right the last second they make it!! God, what is this!!!!!

Just watched the interviews post Quali and it's so funny how Lewis and George are so in sync for everything, including leaving Sid the sloth behind without missing a beat 🤣 I love to see it, why lie about it.

More of this stuff tomorrow I hope, it's an amazing start, way better than I anticipated, so hoping for the good stuff again.

This is about to start now, and I can't be any happier that McLaren is looking so bad. Well deserved.

It's go time. GEORGE TAKES P1, SHARL OFF TRACK TO THE GRAVEL AND LEWIS FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE GETS P2!!!!!! Safety Car coming out after Lance pushed Sharl off track to the gravel. Boy what a start!

Fraudstappen (yes, I'm coming back to this because he deserves it) complaining on the radio about Lewis pushing him out. Are you fucking kidding me? You fuck up the start because every time you have Lewis close you lose your shit and then you can't even defend your position, so "he pushed you off". Go fuck yourself.

That said, even Carlos had a better start. Quite impressive. But why does everything bad always happening to Charles? It's so unfair, my baby does not deserve this.

George shut up. Please, I love you a lot but lately you're getting on my nerves. Yes, Lewis is attacking, he's come to take no prisoners. But that's Lewis Hamilton you're talking about and last time you fucked around and you might just find out now.

ALBON IS OUT! SAFETY CAR DEPLOYED FOR THE SECOND TIME IN LESS THAN 10 LAPS! AND LEWIS IS P1, STOP THE COUNT! STOP THE FUCKING COUNT! And this turns into a Red Flag.

So, it's a Standing Start now. I'm scared but I know Lewis can do this with his eyes closed. Alonso just behing Cuntstappen, this calls for a crash between the two. IN ALONSO WE TRUST.

COME ON LEWIS, HERE WE GO. FERNANDO FOR FUCK'S SAKE GET THE MORON. The restart is being investigated now due to half the cars stopping in the same spot. Jesus.

DRS enabled and Alonso flopped. I hate this. I mean, who wouldn't catch the leader with an illegal car? No surprises. But still he cries when he's been passed fair and square. Asshole. How is it possible getting 2 SECONDS in HALF a lap? And no team complains or does anything? It's unbelievable.

So Alonso suddenly has pace again and it's just in time to get to Lewis, but he "couldn't" do anything to catch Fraudstappen. What a surprise.

GEORGE HAS FIRE ON THE BACK OF HIS CAR. LEWIS ALL ALONE NOW, SHIT. He had to stop at the exit of the pit lane and it's now closed. Facing a VSC now. It's 3 cars down so far today. Shit Australia, don't make it worse now.

Back to racing again, just hope Alonso flops the same way he does agains the idiot. This feud with Lewis (only Lewis) is just uncalled for. He's the only driver he's doing this with. Never fights Cuntstappen but Lewis appears and it's his time to start doing something every single time.

At least if anyone can manage the tyres and do a fantastic job defending his position, that's Lewis. I just wish he could catch Sid the Sloth again and slap him in the face, but as I said, with an illegal car even the rest of us could win that easily.

Alonso back to playing his game again. Can this race please end already? This has been enough. I'm dying here. And Carlos... Yes, that overtake on Pierre was fantastic but he manages that once every 8 races? He's above Sharl on sheer luck, not because he deserves anything, same as his seat in Ferrari, purely because of his last name, because he shouldn't be there, he's done nothing really worthy of getting a Ferrari seat. And I'll die on this hill.

Lewis setting Fastest Lap twice is just something worth watching. Other than this, I really want to go back to sleep, this is bullshit.

I hope Pierre catches Carlos, he deserves it. Cuntstappen going off to the grass and losing 3 full seconds. Can't he just have a PU problem? Can't care enough either about Norris getting passed Nico. McLaren needs to flop 100%.

KEVIN NO!!!! HE HAS A FAILURE AND HAS TO STOP ON TRACK. SAFETY CAR DEPLOYED. He's lost a wheel too!? I can't believe this. Will they finish under SC at the race that Masi's watching? Or will they race until the end? RED FLAG. AND IT'S A STANDING START? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry but no. This is fucking stupid and unacceptable. It's so clear. They set the precedent in Abu Dhabi and they just feel like they can do it all over again anytime they feel like it. Un-fucking-believable. This sport is so unserious.

And this is what happens when the FIA does whatever they want to fuck around with one driver. They put every single one of them at risk, because on a 2-lap race everyone will risk it. Fucking morons, this could've been avoided by not restarting or just by restarting under SC (which would've been nonsense too tbh). This is shameful.

Now what? We don't have any news from Esteban and Pierre, are they even okay? I really do, that was so unlucky for both of them. Shame they had to pay for this bullshit. We need a body to control the FIA. I'm sorry but they shouldn't be in charge on their own anymore. This is absolutely stupid, dangerous and someone will get killed again if they keep acting like this. They can't be trusted.

So I guess it'll be a rolling start and it'll end up the way it's looking now? God I should've never got up to watch this 🤣 In the mean time, Lewis is vibin' and Toto is making friends. Please, let this be done.

5-second penalty for Carlos for hitting Alonso. All in favor of Carlos crashing against Fernando, but the penalty is well deserved. The FIA should've done this differently once again? absolutely. But fuck him anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️ He's the one that's caused everything on that restart, directly and indirectly.

That said, something was just brought to my attention through here as the restart appears on my screen. A certain individual was not positioned correctly at the restart. Guess who? And guess what will happen? Nothing. I do hope Mercedes and Aston Martin complain. I mean, they were super tough about this exact thing with both Esteban and Fernando, but now they're gonna give a pass to this person? That's unexpected, huh?

The only thing in this world making all of this worth is Lewis' smile. Seriously, we don't deserve him. Especially Mercedes right now, but that's a whole other story. The Cool Down room giving us one of those unexpected moments between Lewis and Alonso. It's funny, actually.

It's finally over, I just need to go back to sleep before I pull my hair out after this shit. Good thing it's another 2 weeks before the next one. This is not the sport I used to love, in all seriousness. This is just a circus. There's no sport in this left.

Finally, we're back Down Under again!

Hello there!

I'm excited about Australia! I don't even know why, but I am. I'm watching everything quite late actually, but here we go.

Press conference - Thursday

I honestly don't care about what Piastri has to say. I get that he's an Aussie and that we don't have Danny boy to cheer the pressers up, but it's still a nope for me. Sorry not sorry, kid.

I saw on TikTok that Sharl is wearing the bracelet a fan gave him and it's true! How can this boy be this sweet? Seriously, I can't help but love him more for that.

There's not really been anything else worth mentioning apart from the fact that George can talk for HOURS on end. Jesus kid, sometimes it's too much 🤣

Only thing they said that has some substance to it is what they said about the Free Practice sessions that our friend Domenicalli wants to suppress from the race weekends. It's not the most fun thing to watch, but for them those sessions are crucial to learn and see possible things to fix before a race.

I hope practice is more interesting today at least, although I'm not really expecting it to be.

Free Practice 1 - Friday

Fp1 is starting out with some drivers experiencing bouncing again. God, didn't we get passed this already? Silly me, of course not. Kevin going off track... It's starting off as quite an unstable session.

Lewis' car snapping too... What is this?!

Nothing much going on for a while now, time stamps remaining similar to the 2 previous race weekends for now with a couple exceptions.

Checo going off track too after losing his rear. Now that's a surprise. Aaaand Yuki losing the car too going to the gravel, the grass... All of it. What's going on today? Ouch he almost crashed into Lewis while going back on track. Lewis clearly didn't like it...

Oh shit Kevin... The session was Red Flagged, I guess because all of the gravel on track? Oh no, it's a GPS issue. WTF. And Zhou almost crashed into a RBR and AM. Poor kid, that must've been quite the scare in that corner.

So now there's been an update about the "touching the car" issue during a penalty serving during a pit stop. Now, finally the decision is that any little touch on the car would be considered working on the car, so it'd mean taking an extra penalty. The only thing that should be worked out now is that the FIA need to do their jobs and serve the penalties during the race unless whatever happens takes place right at the end of the race itself.

And now Sid the Sloth spins and complains. Short Yellow Flag and on we go. And now Sargeant goes off too. Session Red Flagged again and now the session is finished. Good thing is that Lewis apparently got P2. I say apparently since I feel like nowadays Lewis is barely on screen lately unless it involves someone "more interesting". Whatever, but good for him.

At this point I'm thinking of semi-overnight it to watch FP3, which in Spanish time happens at 3:30am I believe? And I'll watch Quali when I wake up, otherwise I might die 🤣

Free Practice 2 - Friday

I hadn't noticed until the beginning of FP2 that Alpine are still running the pink cars. I thought that it was just for 2 races. What an ugly color 💀

Lance fucking up Checo's lap is just the light of the session for me. And a Ferrari quite the same. Very nice.

It's raining now, should be interesting. OMG Lance, what are you fighting the wall about? 🤣 Many drivers going into the pits due to the rain, apparently a those menacing clouds are making an appearance.

Darth Toto is the most interesting of the last 20 minutes so far. That says a lot 🤪

Lance almost spinning and going slightly into the grass was a near miss. Lance please, I DO NOT NEED A HEART ATTACK. And he comes knocking again in the gravel. Jesus Lance, stop this 🥲

Lewis and George both slipping in the exact same place. Is this Melbourne drift now? I'm so sorry.

And that's about it for today 🤷🏻‍♀️ Pretty plain session overall, but a little hope's there for the rest of the weekend.

Free Practice 3 - Saturday

So we're really having 4 DRS zones this weekend, which I had missed yesterday. Not sure how that'll go, but it'll be interesting for sure.

I don't get what the fuck is going on here that there's so many problems with traffic again and again and again. It's been way to frequent now.

One of the Spanish DAZN commentators, Toni Cuquerella, who's an engineer and has worked for years in F1, bashing Franz Tost like a pro. And he's right to do so after Tost's comments on not trusting his engineers. Buddy, you're the one who hired them in the first place, so maybe it's them who shouldn't trust you after all the years after TP and not achieving much at all 😗

The session has been Red Flagged and there's a very big chunk of a chasis, maybe from the Haas. Not sure whose is it, but good thing that's been reported quickly and the session stopped. Oh no, it's from De Vries' car.

Zhou almost hitting the wall, good thing he didn't. He's trying to ge the car back on track carefully. Ouf...

So that's it again. Except the traffic/GPS issues and everyone going off track quite a bit, pretty calm. Finally done with Free Practice, I wouldn't dream of waking up to watch Quali on time. Hope I can manage not to cry tomorrow waking up before 7am 🤣 When the fuck did I become this whinny? FFS.

It's (finally) time for the good stuff, I hope at least.

I wanted to comment on this, since I didn't do it on the previous post. I obviously read about Angela's departure yesterday. I know she's pursuing something else and that she's happy with her choice but it honestly makes me sad that she's left Lewis' side. Wasn't it enough losing Seb, Mick and Daniel? Not Angela too 😭

Quali - Saturday

Now onto praying for no crashes (bad ones at least). At the moment the only thing worth mentioning is Sargeant's time being erased in a turn where there's no space to go off actually, but what do you expect nowadays. He then almost crashed and barely made it out untouched. Lucky guy.

Other than that, more or less going through to Q2 the ones that always do. Drama starts now, here's hoping.

Sid the Sloth having engine issues is giving me back my will to live, but WHY IS THIS NOT HAPPENING ON THE RACE!? If this isn't fixed on time he might start tomorrow close to Sharl, and that might give Sharl an opening to crush him. Hopefully. YES, HE'S OUT!!!!!

Finally, Q3 time and now the reality check might hit me in the face. Let's see.

Looking pretty solid for Ferrari and Aston Martin, Lance putting a hell of a lap right there. Seriously, he has me on a chokehold this boy. Even Pedro de la Rosa was defending him, saying to the others "Hey hey hey, we do NOT talk shit about Lance in this house". Obviously, I'm... paraphrasing. At best 🤣 Sorry, I'm a fangirl.

Sharl getting a very good P2 but unfortunately my baby boy is getting a penalty tomorrow, so we're starting off the season really well. I know Vasseur's pulling at the hairs he no longer has at the moment. Someone help that man and Sharl 🥲

George is right there in the fight which is a good sign for sure. Lewis on the other hand is starting P8. I know there's hope, I know he can achieve anything (last year proved it), but it sucks seeing him go through this. AGAIN. Why Mercedes? WHY?

It's nice to see, or not see better said, that a certain someone isn't there. I know this is a cosmic fluke and it won't ever happen again knowing RBR, but a girl can dream. Sid the Sloth will probably overtake everyone until he gets to Checo and RBR throw team orders at him and let's him pass.

I just hope I'm wrong.

Race - Sunday

It's race day and here we go with the anxiety rocketing right before the start. Although that anthem was the light of my day. Can we talk about how BAD that sounded!? My goodness, what was that?

Anyway, so now I'm here waiting for the Top 6 so crash in into each other. I mean, that Top 6 is absolute CHAOS. In George, Esteban and Lance we trust. I saw this post that Marina sent me a couple hours ago and I'm still laughing.

Okay, so this started off well for Alonso and the rest, Alonso getting ahead but just a few seconds later there was a flash of news saying he started on the incorrect position. This is fucking insane already.

5-second penalty for Fernando, same as Esteban in Bahrain. That was quick. I do have to mention Lance's balls eating Carlos up. I'm such a fan of this dude, seriously.

The McLaren duo are having a blast, I see. Oh Karma, how good is it seeing you again this week.

Sharl is going full force after Pierre and Lewis, eats up Pierre very easily and almost gets Lewis right then and there and thank goodness for that turn, otherwise he might've done it. But there we go, penalty coming for Lewis. Or well, they gave him a warning, which is surprising since the FIA loves, LOVES giving Lewis shit for anything.

Sharl ends up passing him easily too, which I expected already. And Sid the Sloth is right there catching up quickly to everyone as expected too. I don't think it'll be long before he catches Sharl. Unless... Sharl plays it the way he knows how. I'M COUNTING ON YOU, SHARL.

I'm hoping Lance eats Carlos up. Honestly, I'm hoping he just embarrases him at this point. Ah shit, Sharl gets out just in front of him, but I hope he just passes Carlos and then Lance can do his thing.

NO NO NO NO NO FUCKING HELL. LANCE ASKED TO STOP ON TRACK. FOR FUCK'S SAKE. SAFETY CAR. AND LEWIS JUST PASSED THE PIT ENTRANCE, SHIIIIIIIT.

Fernando stops serving his penalty and off he goes. George stops too and Alonso still goes out ahead of him. Crap. And the Ferraris had already stopped no they're fucked. At least Lewis can stop now. Let's see what this does.

I mean, I would pass George like that too if I had an illegal car. That's not normal, seriously. I mean, and they still complained about an economic penalty, but are you fucking serious?

So Alonso was useless against Sid. That's disappointing. Lewis right there behind George. And Albon in the mean time is losing the brakes and has to move to the pits to retire.

I'm reading that George has disobeyed team orders. I really hope this isn't true because otherwise, despite how much I love him, as soon as I step into Montmeló this year I'm gonna fucking deck him. I'm sorry but if this is true, nope. Lewis should just start playing a Sebastian Vettel card and do him like Seb did Mark back in the day. Seriously.

Can both RedBulls please crash into each other? Nothing serious, just enough to fuck off. Of course they couldn't. I mean, I've just watched the end of the race like looking blankly at a wall.

It's now been a while since the end of the race, I needed to cool off a bit first. Basically, because I've confirmed that the Mercedes team orders were for real and George ignored them completely, and also that Mercedes didn't inform Lewis about shit. So, yes, I'm fucking pissed.

Alonso getting the 10-second penalty (which in itself I think is pretty correct) after the podium ceremony is beyond stupid. Not that I'm going to support Alonso or anything but there was a 30-lap gap between his pit stop and the ceremony, they had more than enough time to let him know about the new penalty. The FIA is very keen on just doing things in a certain way that's pretty much on-the-go instead of being efficient about it. Unbelievable.

It's not fair that George gets the podium. It's not. He's been rewarded with it after disobeying team orders and knowingly hurting Lewis. I'm just hoping Lewis stops being the better person and enters his 2016 era (or even 2007) again. I'm sorry George, I like you, but this is truly unacceptable. And Mercedes, WTF? He's given you 8 Constructor's titles, are you out of your fucking minds? They all should know better by now. Really hope he stops giving a shit.

Anyway, I hope Australia looks better than the past 2 races. Because this is the biggest shitshow.

Back to hell in Jeddah

Well, hi!

Second race weekend take the cake? I'm not an optimist taking into account Sharl is starting the weekend off with a penalty. Way to go, yay!

I'm gonna keep the same structure as last weekend, I like the organization better. Just gonna add up some color to the subheadings, seeing all the text in white and trying to find the thicker font is giving me a headache. I'm late watching and writing it all since as usual I was entertained by other things. I might even start the chaos of watching everything quite late as last summer since I might be starting work on Formentera almost a month earlier. We'll see how I manage this this time around.

Press conference - Thursday

Honestly, the only interesting comments from the first press round were coming from Yuki. I'm biased, he was the only interesting driver for me on there, but you know. I have to say though, seeing Lando talking about how they need to improve the car and all is so funny to me. Suck it up, Buttercup.

I like how Yuki talks, so eloquently, more analytically maybe, or at least he seems super focus. I'm more used to seeing him they way he's always shown, shouting in the car or joking around with Pierre, but this calmer version of him is also good to see. I really find him super endearing, honestly.

The second press round looks much better, at least 4 of the drivers are worth listening to.

Poor Estie Bestie talking about the hundred different penalties he got during the race 2 weeks ago. I hope he gets a better race this weekend, at least.

I wanna hug Lance, seriously. It's still a wonder how he's there after breaking his wrists, having surgery, coming back right away and all. Braver than the US marines, my boy.

We don't care about Checo unless he's fighting with his teammate, so moving on. Last but certainly never least, Lewis glowing all around, he's so calm, he's so chill.

Free Practice 1 - Friday

Sunny FP session this afternoon to start the weekend. That must be a hell of a hot day.

Honestly, not much has been going on apart from the stupid rumblings of the Spanish commentators, to which I no longer pay attention at this point. It's a good thing that this is a quiet session since this track is Hell.

There have been a couple of close calls with a Haas and another car that I can't remember now, but it could've been scary material if you know what I mean. And a few off track trips on Turn 22 maybe? But other than that, not much else. So, that's why I've been making the most out of the session since I barely had to look at the screen to begin with. Nice (?)

The one really fantastic update that's worth mentioning above else honestly is the helmet cam on Lewis. Now, that's a view I enjoy.

Just a few problems for Checo I see and that's about it and it's right at the end of the session anyway so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Free Practice 2 - Friday

I may be speaking way too quickly but the second session of the day is looking quite like the first one, calm and quiet.

And indeed it was. I haven't paid that much attention due to the lack of interesting stuff going on. A few problems with the traffic, but not much else. I mean, yeah we already know RBR are leading, Aston Martin are pretty much crushing it and blah blah blah.

The most interesting was seeing Sid the Sloth almost going up against the wall a few times, but we can never get that lucky as to seeing him scratch the car enough as in 2021 during Quali. Ah, good times.

Anyway, more tomorrow and hopefully Quali's a kicker.

Free Practice 3 - Saturday

Sooooooo, here we go again with another session of nothing and a little bit more of nothing. Same as yesterday, I'm afraid.

I hope we get a little more excitement in Australia during Free Practice since it's not this hellhole, at least the chances of half the drivers killing each other accidentally will be a tad lower.

Yeah, definitely a truly quiet breakfast experience watching this at 2pm. There's nothing to comment on about this session, honestly. So I'll just leave it here.

Quali better be something else, for the love of all things... interesting? However that phrase goes 🤣

Kicking off the 2023 season at last

So, it's finally the day, the weekend, the kick off of the season!

Quali - Saturday

Now, this is unbelievable. It's not even been 2 full minutes and Sharl is losing half his car on the track piece by piece. That's fantastic. Obviously, the session had to be Red Flagged until the pieces were picked up. Jesus.

Okay, we can say after half the time that this is looking interesting. Alonso, Sid the Sloth (seriously this is the best nickname ever), Sainz, Russel and Leclerc right there one after the other.

First eliminated should've been known by now but as always this clown sport is not functioning. Is Albon out due to track limits or not?

So, now everyone's waiting to get out on track, but let's see how it goes. Still the times are quite close to one another now that everyone is on track, so this is a nailbiter.

Both McLarens are OUT. Fantastic news! Sorry not sorry. And Kulk did make it, I'm stunned. And also Lance, this is actually a truly good Quali day. The best would be Lewis on pole and that would be it. A girl can dream...

Now onto Q3. I'm nervous. Unlike last year, that I knew the Merc boys were in trouble. But this year. Oh boy.

Leclerc and Sid the Sloth are quite close, no surprises there. I'm trying to see the overall because they're all so close. I know what to expect but I don't know what to expect. This is so stressful.

Anyway, so it's the RedBulls and Ferraris on top. I have high hopes for George going after Fernando right at the beginning, honestly. Let's see what happens.

It doesn't look too bad for the first race. I hope I'm right.

Race - Sunday

So here we go, it's the dreaded and highly awaited start of the season. I don't know how much I'll be holding on to hope this time.

Good start from the boys, pretty clean stuff. Both of them passing Alonso, which is hopeful.

There's a Yellow Flag on Sector 2. Lance hitting Alonso on his rear on Turn 1. And George getting Fastest Lap right from the beginning is quite the good thing.

It's actually funny that Pedro de la Rosa says that Sid the Sloth is in a league of his won. Why is that? Is it maybe because RBR have breached the cost cap not once but TWICE?

I don't like this kind these messages for Mercedes because it might mean trouble. In general, nothing wrong with George's question.

No no no, Fernando and Lance are right there, this is BAD 😵‍💫 It's both Lewis and George having issues, so it's worse. I hope they can fix this. And finally Lewis pits and George is defending like a goddamn lion against Alonso, but Alonso beats him. Quite the battle between these two, very nice to watch, honestly.

Shitty stop for George, I don't know what that was but good isn't the word. We've come here to willingly suffer today, apparently, haven't we?

And McLaren flopping once more with Piastri's pit stop is just fantastic. I know I'm paying for this already, but God does it feel good. And they retire the car. Thank you, Karma.

George going for Fastest Lap again. Our boy isn't playing right now, that's for sure.

Now Estie Bestie's got a 5-second penalty for not putting the car properly on the grid? But then the FIA don't penalize other drives (ahemMAXahem) for far worse things 🤬 And they served the penalty incorrectly now ffs.

Sharl fighting Checo, but Checo takes the cake unfortunately. I'm so sad right now. Mercedes call Lewis to pit again, and now Lance eats George up, pretty nicely let me tell you. Well played, Aston Martin. He gets the Fastest Lap too now, I mean this guy is flying.

Poor Esteban, getting an extra 10-second penalty so now he has to serve not 5, not 10, BUT FIFTEEN SECONDS. He ended up giving up and I can't blame him.

Alonso and Lewis fighting is actually a beautiful thing to see (as long as Lewis wins 🤣). Alonso does not back down and gets the place. Oh fucker, hope he gets you back. And the ladies keep fighting despite F1 showing half the fight.

NO NO NO NOT CHARLES!!!!!!! HE'S OUT OF THE RACE WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!! We get a VSC now, that doesn't really last long. OMG why Charles... Why does everything happen to him. I really hope this means (like last year) that after this he'll end up winning it all, of course if Mercedes specifically can't. SHIIIIIIIIIIT 💩

Now Alonso almost hitting Carlos and he gets to pass him too. Unbelievable.

Anyway, wish it had ended a different way but I guess today wasn't the day.

More and hopefully better next time. Kudos to Lance because he's done a terrific job, honestly, hanging in there and fighting all the way through the race.

Next time I'll see if I keep this way of posting during the race weekends or if I better change it a bit.

It's finally time for the start of the season

Hello again, my darlings!

As I said on my previous post, just in case you didn't read it, I'm gonna write about the pressers from Thursday and all Free Practice sessions in one post and Quali and the race in another, I'll see if it's dynamic enough. No idea if it'll be any good but anyway, I'll section the posts with subheadings so that if we want to read a specific part, it'll be easier to find.

I forgot to mention yesterday, that I LOVED LOVED LOVED that Susie Wolff has been appointed the Managing Director of the F1 Academy. I'm so happy for her. I did mention last week that I'd hoped for her to be the new Williams Team Principal, but this is even better. She's gonna make this challenge her baby and she's gonna crush it. I'm sure of it.

After all that, here we go.

Press conference - Thursday

The press conference format has finally changed, the sofa's back and it looks more relaxed maybe? I like it better tbh.

Alonso's hair definitely has a life of its own 🤣 this man is insane, honestly. It must be the Aston Martin effect, but we'll have to see if they finally flop or what.

Nico talking about his talks with Kevin and their renewed relationship is actually funny to me. I'm expecting violence in Haas again. I'm truly waiting for the downfall of Haas from within to happen. I feel sorry for the boys but not for Haas 😗

I think Nyck is super cute, he looks like a kid even if he's closer to my age than most of the other drivers on the grid. But after last year I expect good things from him and I'm excited for him to do good.

I still don't care about Piastri, I don't even like the way he talks. And no, it's not due to the Daniel thing, it's just I don't get a good vibe from him, there's something about him that I don't like at all. And Logan looks like a nice fella, we'll have to see. Typical American by the way he speaks, no doubt, but I hope he's once of the nice ones. He does look like one, at least for now.

I don't care what people say, but I love how George speaks, he's so sensible and eloquent. Plus, his accent is top tier and it makes everything sound so smooth. Anywho, I hope the Merc boys have the car they deserve this year and that it's not just looks 🥲

Sharl being unintentionally funny as usual is the best part of this. He's right though about them and all the other teams not showing everything they got during testing, which is why I'm both hopeful and terrified about the reality check I might get hit with in the face this weekend.

It's weird seeing Pierre rocking the Alpine team gear. He looks more relaxed maybe, or it might just be my impression.

Free Practice 1 - Friday

Okay, so not much going on really in general. Just as expected, kind of. Aston Martin is doing quite well, which after testing was in the cards so, we'll have to see whether it's something that eventually will just stop or it'll just stay the same or even improve. This proves that, as my friend Marina says, Seb's eternal debriefings were worth it. Damn it Seb, and you had to leave before it started paying off?! I miss you, please come back 🥲

Other than the green surprise at the moment, the rest looks kind of the same as last year, more or less. Hopefully, Mercedes won't look the same because otherwise I don't know what hope there will be left. Lewis has had a few good times, so I have a little hope so far, hope I'm not wrong in the end.

I'm actually quite surprised with Lance, because he's driving after having surgery on his hands which is insane to me, and he's doing a fantastic job too. No, we won't tolerate Lance slander on this page, WE STAN LANCE. With that said, I'm sorry but I need AM to flop.

McLaren flopping is my new mood. I'm honestly happy about it, I hope it gets worse. I might not be quite the good person for this, but they deserve the worst. I said what I said.

Carlos scraped the floor of his car and had a near miss that I think I speak for everyone, none of us expected.

Other than that, I don't have much else to say until FP2, so let's see what the afternoon brings us.

Free Practice 2 - Friday

What the hell is going on with Aston Martin? No, seriously, what have they fed them now? Jesus, that shit is crazy.

I mean, this session has been insane. Lance making P1 and Nico P2 was like a fantasy to watch and then comes Alonso and takes P1 and owns the session basically. It wasn't unexpected after FP1, but come on.

I still find it incredible that Lance could drive at all, honestly. I've seen that he was having trouble with his hands but I mean... That shows the kind of person/driver he truly is.

Other than this, we'll have to see what tomorrow brings, literally.

Free Practice 3 - Saturday

Afternoon folks, finally Saturday!

I'm seeing Lewis set purple sectors and getting P1 as I type which is giving me major hope, and I'm scared. I NEED THIS TO BE FOR REAL ALL SEASON.

Not much going on in general, so I'm gonna take the chance to comment on something I didn't say yesterday watching the rest of the sessions.

So, I truly like Lance. He's a menace and he's underappreciated and underrated, in my opinion. That said, I don't understand how the FIA have allowed him to drive this weekend. I mean, you can see he has trouble with his right hand specifically, what if he had an accident or he had trouble steering during the race and crashed against another driver? How would he get out of the car if he needed to do it quickly? He's truly doing a fantastic job especially given the circumstances but... I would've understood better if he had come back for Jeddah instead of Bahrain. Plus, we know our little buddy loves war crimes as much as Alonso does, so it's not truly safe for him to be driving.

And, on the other hand (pun intended), we see the FIA's "concern" about Lewis' piercings. Are you kidding me? A grown ass man who has made HIS CHOICE about the matter apart from having a medical recommendation for him not to take his piercings out all the time because it's not good. Anyone who has piercings or knows anything about them knows about the materials being mostly safe for a tone of situations and about the problems of changing or removing them and putting them back on repeatedly in a short period of time.

A choice btw about something that ONLY affects HIM if anything were to happen. You know what that's called? Targeting, discriminating and, therefore, racism. Plainly because he's the only (black) driver been chased about this. Have Checo or Kevin stopped wearing their wedding bands while driving? Has Pierre stopped wearing his cross necklace during the races? It's just a few examples, and I don't think that they should follow this rule just now if they're aware of the risks and it's their choice to take the risk. But have they been pursued about any of this? Nope. Just the one person.

Back to the topic, Alonso crushing it again today, but it's good news that Lewis and George are there for now too. They're doing good, so we'll have to see how this goes in the end.

How fantastic would it be to just see Alonso and Sid the Sloth battling at the top and eliminating each other for not backing down? Because I think we all know Verstappen doesn't move because he doesn't know how to overtake, but we also know that if Alonso were given the chance to fight for Top 3, he would not move and he'd kick his grandma if need be.

Anyway, it's been nice to see the cars go vroom vroom again. We'll have to see the reality during Quali and the Race. Let's hope for the actual good stuff.

About the 2023 pre-season testing and the 1st Race Weekend of 2023

It's finally the 1st Race Weekend of 2023 and I couldn't have been any happier.

But first things first, I should've posted days ago about the pre-season testing sessions from last week, but anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think I might just post twice over the race weekend this years: once where I comment on the pressers and the 3 free practices, and the last time commenting on Quali and the race. If that doesn't look that good, I might changed it up to once a weekend or whatever I may find easier. We'll see.

I'm actually watching FP1 now, but I don't wanna comment on the things I'm hearing until tomorrow afternoon, because it's pissing me off. There it goes, my objectivity, out the window. These commentators are the worst, seriously.

So, TESTING. I know the tests don't really mean much since they're trying the cars and seeing what changes need to be done before the actual start of the season and all, but it looked quite alright. Right...?

I mean, at least, I have hope. Just a little bit. But yes, why deny it. I just need Mercedes to suddenly surprise us all and be back at the top demolishing every single team. Here's hoping.

Anyway, it looked good mostly for my dearest teams, but also for Aston Martin. What a surprise. Happy for Lance in all honesty, although I'm expecting/hoping for Aston Martin to flop quickly for various reasons, one of them being the Spanish DAZN commentators being a pain in the ass about it due to our dearly beloved (no) Fernando Alonso. This season can't come to an end soon enough 🤣

Other than that, the tests are a pretty boring event, if we're being totally honest. But at least we get a little taste of what's coming so...

The only other thing I might comment on is the rookies. Not really fond of Piastri, I'm quite indifferent to Sargeant (just meh, nothing against him) and living for the Yuki-Nyck team-up this year. I'm missing Yukierre way too much, honestly. There's no team like them on the grid, and I'm sad 🥲

I'm not gonna push this one too much more since there's not much else to say really. I can say tho, that I'm gonna make a new Masterlist for this season that I'll be pinning at the top for anyone who's interested in that sort of thing. I don't think there's anyone interested, but just in case I'm making it easier, also for myself.

Good thing F1 is back now, peace out!

Back for the 2023 season ✨

Hello there!

Well, it's been a minute 🤣 My intention was to write something through the winter break about several topics I initially had in mind, but as you can see between my vacation and a very needed break from all this and a few other things, I haven't found the motivation to write anything until now, and I'm very damn late.

Firstly, I'll say that I honestly have no clue what the hell the idea will be for this page during this season. I don't know how much I'll be posting per weekend, or anything at all for that matter because my brain's not collaborating at the moment so I guess I'll figure it out by next week (I hope so at least). I don't even know if I'll be keeping the masterlist posts the way they are now and keep adding the new ones or if I'll renew the masterlist (which might be the better option). I don't even know if I'll be keeping all the previous posts at all, but anyway, if any of you care enough to share any ideas, I'm open to suggestions.

It's finally pre-season testing for the 2023 season after all the car launches in the past few weeks, which will be my topic on this post (step by step) along with a few comments about some of the winter break news that I can remember.

So first things first, I believe we all were expecting Fred Vasseur to become the Ferrari Team Principal for this season, which meant Mattia Binotto's banishment. FINALLY. Was I happy to have this man out of Ferrari after last year's debacle. I like Vasseur, although I honestly just wanted Binotto out, regardless.

James Vowles' move to Williams as Team Principal was unexpected but I trully felt happy for him, well deserved promotion, if you ask me. Not that I care much for Williams anyway, but it's good news anyway. I did hope Susie Wolff would get the position tbh. I would've been THE reason to look forward to Williams having nice things this year, but anyhow.

Now, the news I was waiting for most than any other. Mick Schumacher as the 3rd driver for Mercedes. Like this team can't be any more beautiful than it already is now. I felt so happy for Mick. Yes, he's out of the grid this season, but this is not the end. I know it. This is a fantastic chance in every way for him firstly because he's gonna get treated like family and with the respect he deserves, and because he's gonna learn so much in such an amazing environment with all the incredible people at Mercedes. I'm a fangirl, I know, but seriously, this setback couldn't have worked out better. Sexiest team on the grid, YES I'M SAYING IT.

Okay, now onto the topic that should've been on my page by last week 🤣 I was pretty excited about some of the car launches this year, and to my surprises I liked quite a few cars' liveries. This year some teams have stepped up on the livery designs, so there' s a few sexy car rolling around.

I loved 4 cars especially, because some were just a copy of their 2022 counterparts and meh. RedBull and McLaren for instance... Nothing new. Nothing to add. But the 1st of the ones I liked the most was Alfa Romeo. Whoa. That change from the white to the black. The combination with the red. Chef's kiss. Really cool stuff.

The Aston Martin is one of those cars maintaining last year's livery design (or at least that's what my mind is remembering/thinking at the moment), BUT. The AM is a sexy fucking car, let me tell you. That green is stunning year after year. No need to change it, I love it.

The we got Ferrari. First of, that launch was fantastic from the Tifosi right there to the test on track with Carlos and Charles talking to each other on the radio. And that car. Oh my. That car was the Valentine's gift to us all, in all of it's glory. I was so happy honestly. Plus, Carlos and Charles' interaction on the radio was truly the best part, they're such idiots. I love them.

Finally, the day I was waiting for, the Mercedes launch. We all know how much expectation was weighing in on this. I think I speak for all of us when I say we NEEDED that car to have a black livery. I mean, the W13 was an ugly thing, honestly. I hate to say it, but it was. Its power was lost along with the black livery from 2021. And Mercedes after hinting endlessly for days, delivered. The W14 is a thing of beauty. It just needs to give us our hope back. We need it to be the W11 2.0.

After fangirling a little too much as always, and after being trying to write this thing for hours now (almost 2am and I'm still not done lol), it's finally come the time for testing those beasts and see what they're made of this year. I'll try to watch everything until they're done before giving my opinion on it, see the possibilities of the season.

It's good to be back, honestly.
