he’s a shardian, therefore his life, both that when he was alive and deceased, are full of bad memories and likewise. his most memorable of these memories is when he saw the look of pure and guttural sadness on the face of his lover when he passed away.

he really doesn’t have any of these, save for pranks that were pulled on him when he was alive and his reactions were childish and embarrassing.

fall had always been his favorite season: swift, cool breezes that left lingering kisses on his cheeks the vibrant colors of fading leaves that had yet to fall breath accentuated by thick clouds of cigarette smoke and the chill in the air. 

lovely things that he held dear. decades didn’t wither the love he had for the crisp nights of autumn that were often spent with car window’s rolled down, fingertips gliding through streams of whipping air as synthetic beats and subtle guitar strums leaked from pumping speakers. there was laughter too, bright smiles and curved eyes; gazes of love and touches of subtle lust. 

not any more. 

lightly humming under his breath, fingers playing on imaginary keys with a cigarette dangling from between his dry lips, jungkook found himself simply existing. an invisible ghost, an entity that took up minimal space. earbuds plugged in his ears, the music streamed into his brain, occupying his mind and taking his thoughts away from how miserable he had become-- a slow evolution of sensation, but one that arrived at his doorstop and wouldn’t leave him alone. 

holding onto his consciousness by a thread, swallowing needles and feathers in order to breathe -- breathing, something he didn’t have to do, but he did anyway: a small fragment of human habit that remained in his empty chasm.

jungkook sighed out deep gray smoke as he exhaled; two fingers, long and slender pinched a cigarette carefully between them. burned nearly to the butt, he rolled the cylinder between the pads of his fingertips for a moment before flicking it to the side. he stopped where he stood, misty eyes watching as the orange embers of the cigarette burned themselves out. 

he was looking at himself.  faded and dying all over again.

"Hey-" Ra had followed the smell of fresh black coffee to this guy. He had never seen the other before but the caffeine was enough to make him talk. "Where did you get the fresh coffee?"

a little stumble to his step-- someone was speaking to him? jungkook thought he had turned invisible since he set foot upon the grounds of insolitus, a true ghost as it were, but i seemed that he was wrong. ‘uh...’ a short pause, a nibble to his bottom lip before he shrugged his shoulders, fingers fiddling idly with the paper cup in his hands. ‘it’s just instant,’ he replied honestly, voice a little droning, a little looming. ‘i’d kill for some real fresh coffee...’

what the fuck was that. jungkook turned abruptly on his spot, eyes narrowed and ears warming with angered blush as he stared at that girl, that thing who yelled such incoherent nonsense at him. ‘i’m sorry,’ he stared, teeth pressed together and voice low -- annoyance was teeming over the brim, there was no way he could help it. ‘but can you shut up?’

demon: what is your worst flaw

a scoff: ‘i don’t have flaws,’ he said easily; or he thought. the corners of his lip twitched a bit after he replied, his eyes darkening a little as he dragged them in the direction of his feet. never once did he flinch while he told a lie – a first. 

fright: what is your biggest fear

‘you’re really nosy, you know that?’ he spoke with a slight tilt to his head. nosiness was a trait jungkook loathed, but he found it in himself to humor the stranger. strange, considering he never had patience for such a thing, but he decided to pay it minimal mind. ‘spiders,’ the shardian responded with without any hesitation. the lie slid off his tongue with much ease this time around and he was satisfied; knowing he tells lies has never bothered him, and surely it never will.
