Coffee State, 2018

This mural was done in late 2018 by Izana and Maisoon (@hyplodingus) at Coffee State, a coffee shop in Maafannu, Malé.

It was heavily inspired by the coffee itself; the Japanese-inspired buildings represent the coffee beans used by the café which are roasted in Japan. The centre of the artwork is the café itself, filled with people enjoying their coffee.

Try spotting the letters of the café’s name in random spots of the artwork while you sip your cuppa!

Valutherein was commissioned by Island Bazaar in the year 2018. The original sketch for the mural is by Maisoon (@hyplodingus). The mural was painted in 18 hours by Izana and Maisoon.
