I felt after a long break from these it was finally time to work on another, this is to be my next favorite boy, Sanji.

I won’t get into too much detail, other than I’m uncertain how to feel about the yellow still, but my choice has been made, I’m already in it and committed now. So here’s hoping it’ll turn out right in the end.

I’m not sure what this little critter is, but I’ve had the greatest hankering for making an elemental themed set of cuties. This is a spring/ summer version. An autumn version is in the process.

I love getting to try new things.

My cousin’s farm has recently acquired a dairy cow, and she’s had a bit of buttermilk to spare, which bodes well since Pinterest is my best friend.

I still have plenty left, I’m not sure what I’ll do with all of it, but I’m certainly glad with how this Blueberry loaf turned out.

Adding a little something different this round while enjoying a long weekend. Work and overtime has been running me a bit ragged and I’ve yet to start any new big yarn projects. So a bit of baking instead.

Like a gentle reminder to ensure you take time to enjoy things for yourself.. and that’s what I did here with a slice of honey cake and a bit of ice cream.

You guys really gotta be careful reading color correspondences from certain books bc a lot of these authors cling to that black/white magic bullshit (racism) a lot more than you think they do.

Black as a color in witchcraft is such a great color to work with and you shouldn’t only pull out black candles when it’s dealing with “unsavory” things. Black can be used in positive workings.

Brown is a great color to work with as well and it’s a shame I don’t see people talk about using it enough on here. The whole “dark colors are negative and bright colors are positive” is the child to that white/black magic bullshit (racism). Show black, brown, grey and dark colored candles or items some love for once.

PSA for fellow dog owners: Keep your dog on a leash when out in public, and teach your kids to keep them leashed too. Also, if you're dog is bigger than your kids, don't let them take them for walks unsupervised.

I just got thrown to the ground by an overly friendly St. Bernard dog that was about twice the size of the kids walking it. Not a leash or adult in sight.

My disabled ass now has a bleeding, subluxated knee, a subluxated hip, and my hands are shredded from the asphalt. The kids were frantic and in tears as the eldest tried to haul their dog off me, all the while telling me he was really friendly and didn't mean any harm.

Despite the excruciating amounts of pain I was in, I very gently told them that regardless of intent, harm had been caused, and they needed to keep their dog on a leash and teach it to sit and stay and not to charge at people and knock them to the ground. I'm now going to be unable to move without assistance for the next few days, all because a dog wasn't on a leash nor properly supervised.

Leash your dogs. Thank you.

“It’s been 84 years...”

Just kidding, but boy does it feel like it’s been that long! I’ve had plenty of ups and downs during this project, and a lot of personal life struggles to get this one finished. Between sickness, helping my sister move, and work stresses, I just didn’t have the drive for a while to do it until I sat down. 

One could say I really channeled my inner Moss-head and got lost along the way of completing this one. Napped on it some even. 

But he’s here, he’s completely finished, and I’m glad to have completed this project, 23 skeins later. For graphing out my first pattern, I have to say I only missed one stitch, but I’ve learned to live with that, as it’s not too terrible. My only other beef is the adjustments in the green dye between skeins, but again. Something I can learn to live with. 

Do I plan on making other Straw hats? Of course.

Will they all take me ages to complete? Stay tuned.

And here I thought I’d be finished.

But here so far, after vacations and birthdays and even some Holidays, I have at least a little update on the One Piece project I planned on. Or, at least one part of it. Zoro is probably my favorite character, so I thought to give him a bit of love first.

George (the cat) is supervising my work. So far so good!!

So I said something about a nerd project. Didn’t I? Funny how life tends to tell you otherwise.

We’ll, that was put on hold for A LOT of personal reasons, but I was absolutely still crafting!! I’ve made a few little cuties, which I sadly didn’t get pictures of before sent away to my nephew. I also took the time to jump onto A little Crochet Academy, made by TLYarncrafts (she had a yarn blog, a YouTube and SO much more!!). Thanks to her guidance I am PROUD to say I have made my first ever sweater!! I have another I just cannot wait to show and it’s all thanks to Toni!

Once I get all this out of my system (the sheer EXCITEMENT from doing something new that I was always intimidated by), I’ll go back to my C2C nerdisms.

It’s time

It has come to my attention that there aren’t enough One Piece themed blankets. It has also come to my attention that I’ve never made my own pattern. 

Time to cease procrastinating and get to it, starting off with Straw Hats and their individual Jolly Rogers. 

Do I think anyone would be interested in these or want to buy them? Probably not. Is that going to stop me? Considering I’ve sketched out grids for at least 4 crew members and purchased Roronoa Zoro yarn already? Absolutely not. 

This is going to be a new adventure I plan on taking my time with. I really want the end results to turn out perfect, so wish me luck!

And now for the nephew’s blanket! I really do need to post more often when I do things like these! 

For starters, the pattern is from  reelcrochetnerd on Etsy, and I’ll go ahead and say the pattern was awesome! There are pieces here and there from my own hands either giving tight or lose stitches (My one downfall, gauge is difficult for me). Otherwise, I absolutely loved this one! There’s something satisfying about these blankets that I just enjoy. 

I’ll do my best to post more often, as I’m gearing up for doing my own pattern this round! (While expressing my own nerdiness) Stay tuned :)
