New character!! This is Spike, they鈥檙e a scene kid who loves knitting and art! I struggle with using bright colors a lot, but I really like how I did this one! I also like how I made the side bangs using leaves, I don鈥檛 like hair on my anthro designs, but I feel like they would be empty without the classic scene kid hair.
The thing about the internet is that any given user might actually be a giant centipede being kept in a terrarium by some guy in Fresno and you could never even tell. This public service announcement was brought to you by a real human social media user. In other news, curious whether Tumblr prefers crickets or mealworms?
Oh yeah. There was a cookie eating spider in my kitchen last night.
I was eating some chocolate wafer cookies over a napkin and left for around 5 minutes. I come back, and there is this little baby spider, who, within the crease of the napkin, had decided to web up a few crumbs, and start eating them. In the video you can see it even going back and forth between a crumb of frosting and a crumb of wafer to have a taste of both. It did this for around 20 minutes before I accidentally spooked it and it ran off.
Hand to god I cannot stress enough that I had no involvement besides eating the cookies. The rest was entirely the spider鈥檚 doing. I did not place the spider, I did not place the crumbs near it, I did not encourage the spider to think the crumbs were prey items. It just. seemingly walked up and decided it wanted a taste.
After some research it would seem that spiders can in fact digest sugar, which makes sense since there are definitely prey items out there that would have a sugar content from their diets. But NOTHING mentioned anything about spiders being ATTRACTED to sugar? So I鈥檓 properly baffled there.
A friend has helped me name the spider Crumbs. Crumbs the spider, everyone!
