God... I hate angst and drama in fanfics. Especially when the reason is made up out of thin air. Drama for drama's sake. Ugh. It's disgusting. In the bad sense of the word. And you know why? Because humor is hard to write. Romance is boring. And to come up with a normal plot you need brains and imagination, which some people lack. So you're left with meaningless drama. Just because it's easy. We live in a world where there's a lot of drama, so it's really easier to write than to come up with a plot. But... It's so boring already. It's not interesting anymore. Personally, I have enough misery in my life. And I don't want to read about the suffering of my favorite characters, just because someone is too lazy to grow over themselves and come up with something interesting. It's just a frog at the bottom of a well. There are so many plots in the world, something interesting. But the most popular fanfics are banal drama for drama's sake. I honestly don't get it. It's so boring and it's been done a million times. But... It's an individual thing. Some people like it, some people don't. I don't like it.

Well… Even in our fandom, despite its popularity, the same thing happens. Except, on top of that, some "popular" authors and artists, for some reason, have decided that they get to decide who is part of the fandom and who isn't. I love my fandom. It has given me a lot of things and inspiration among them. I consider myself a part of it, even if I don't draw much. Even if I don't speak English. And I don't care who or what anyone thinks they are. Because I always try to support young artists and writers. Fandom needs new blood. On old and self-righteous bones, it can't evolve.

Fandom: God there’s like NO content anymore. I wish we could get more art and fanfics :(((

Someone: Hey, I can’t draw anything digitally, because I can’t afford a tablet, but here’s a pen on paper drawing that I spent a lot of time and hard work on. Also, I took a shot at my first fanfic and I’d really like some feedback or at least some kudos if you enjoyed it :)

Fandom: Oh... yeah sorry no... not you. We actually meant writers that are already well known and popular to produce MORE content... I mean, if a popular blog shares your work then maybe. And we don’t really like pen to paper art. We just don’t think it’s professional or even looks good :/
