Run Away (Xiao)
Here’s a Liyue character for some diversity. This is based off of @pandoraw27 self aware au, so if you like it, do check them out, their stuff is great.
Warnings: yandere themes, mild violence, threats, kidnapping
Tumblr media
You watched as Albedo gave you a small smile as he headed out to get whatever it was he needed, you hadn’t paid enough attention to know if he told you or not. After a few minutes you rushed to the small bag of items you had been collecting over the past few days. It was mostly spare mora that you found, along with some food and a change of clothes from what Albedo had given you.
Sadly, you weren’t able to get a weapon to take with you, but it would likely just slow you down. Weapons are heavy, and while there were going to be a lot of monsters, a weapon wouldn’t help if you didn’t know how to use it. You took a deep breath as you stood before the wide expanse of the icy mountain, and then set off running into the cold.
It wasn’t easy, but a few days' travel and you were just past Stone Gate. You had run into a good amount of enemies, but the food you brought and the fruit you picked along the way seemed to help you heal. As night drew in you settled in under a tree, the ground was uncomfortable and the air was cold, but you were exhausted.
A sharp jolt woke you up. Frantically scanning around you, you find the reason for your rude awakening, and your blood runs cold.
Albedo had found you. His grip hurt as he dragged you along behind him. It took you a moment to get your bearings, and that’s when Albedo turned around to face you.
“After everything I did for you, you would just run away? What made you think you could just run and be fine? You know there are monsters everywhere, and you can’t defend yourself. That’s why I told you that you need to stay with me, and you still,” He cut himself off.
Albedo was livid and hurt, he thought he could trust you to stay in one place while he went out. And what did you do with that trust? Threw it out the window as soon as he was out of sight. But he wasn’t going to make the same mistake twice.
He turned around, gripping your wrist tighter and started walking. “We’re going back to Dragonspine.”
You didn’t know what he had planned, but it wasn’t going to be good. You tried to get out of his grip, but it didn’t do anything. As you continued to struggle it started to annoy Albedo, and he turned around. “You already got away from me once, I’m not letting you run away again! You already got yourself hurt, but I will not hesitate to break your bones if it would make you listen.”
He turned around and continued to drag you along. You didn’t know what to do. You couldn’t fight him, you couldn’t run. What could you do?
A thought crossed your mind, but there was no way to know if it would work or not. Sure, it was popular in things like fan comics and fanfictions, but that didn’t mean it was true here. But it wasn’t like you had a lot of options, and there’s no way to know without trying.
“Xiao, please,” It came out a coarse whisper, and it at the very least got Albedo’s attention. “What?” He turned to look at you only for the wind to pick up, and a man in a mask pulled you out of his grip and pointed a spear in his face.
Albedo grabbed his sword and swung the spear away. Xiao spun the spear back around and lunged at Albedo, slashing his side. Xiao then turned and grabbed you, and the next thing you see is Dihua Marsh from the top balcony of the Wangshu Inn.
Xiao turned you to get a better look at your injuries. Most of them were minor, but there were a couple that were probably cause for concern on your legs and torso, it didn’t help that they probably needed to be cleaned so that they wouldn’t get infected, hopefully they weren’t already.
“I should go back and finish him off,” Xiao said quietly.
“Please don’t,” you quickly asked him. Albedo was terrifying, yes, but you didn’t want him dead. As long as he wasn’t near you he was fine.
“You called out for me,” Xiao switched topics as he started to play with your hair, watching how it moved.
“I didn’t know what else to do, I wasn’t even sure it would work.”
“Help from an Adeptus comes at a price,” He said as he refocused his attention on your face.
“And I even listened when you asked for me to spare the alchemist's life.”
So as payment for saving your life, your life belongs to me.
Tumblr media
I feel like these are getting worse, oops. I’m probably going to do a few more, but if there’s a specific character you want done, let me know. Also if you have a request for something different, feel free to let me know.

Run Away (Diluc)
Another story based off of @pandoraw27 self aware au. I’m really happy about how the last one turned out, so here’s the next character! The plan is to do most of the characters, including Liyue, but there’s no set order to who I’m doing when, so if you’d like a specific character let me know.
Warnings!: yandere behavior, kidnapping
Tumblr media
You’ve had enough of this. First, Albedo managed to make some kind of portal that brought you into the game. Then he lets it slip that he’s not the only one who’s aware they’re in a game. He made it a point to tell you that the others wouldn’t be as kind or accommodating as him.
But, well, you’ve had enough of Albedo. He was cool when he was a character, but now he’s just crazy. Obsessive is probably the right word, but it still amounted to the same thing. He was always in your space, always asking questions, regardless of how personal or inappropriate they were. It would only be a matter of time before he started experimenting with you, and you didn’t want to see what that would entail.
If you could get down the mountain, you could find someone to help you stay away from him. And if they were just as bad? Well, you were pretty sure the others weren’t going to experiment on you, but if you were going to be stuck with some obsessed, possessive person, you should be able to choose who. If you could make it down the mountain, the Dawn Winery wasn’t far.
The main issue was getting down the mountain. The cold and the monsters together were going to be an issue, then there’s the issue of finding your way without a map, and the other monsters that are spread out everywhere.
You start gathering things days in advance. Hiding food in a bag, taking one of Albedo’s extra swords, you even tried to find a map to take with you, but had no luck. When Albedo left to go gather some things for an experiment, you knew this was your chance.
There was no telling when he would head out again. You set out a few minutes after he left to get some distance between yourselves. If you got caught you wouldn’t get another chance.
You grabbed your things and ran out, deciding to just run down the mountain instead of following the path. Monsters stayed near the roads often, and there was the broken bridge too. You just needed to get off the mountain as fast as possible.
You managed to get out of the mountains by nightfall the next day, but you were pretty badly injured. You had run into hilichurls, slimes, fatui, you name it. The mountain itself didn’t help, the cold slowed you and made it hard to keep your footing. You had slipped on the rocks multiple times, sometimes you walked away with some bruises and a sore butt, sometimes the rocks would leave you with cuts.
There was a small cave you found to stay in for the first night, though you didn’t sleep much. When you woke up you were covered in dried blood, sore, and still tired. The next night you slept on a soft grass hill, but sleep was equally hard to find, as you knew Albedo was looking for you and you were compliantly out in the open.
You started north as soon as you woke up, your body screaming for you to stop moving. You briefly thought about stopping by the statue of the seven near the winery, but that would probably alert Venti of your presence so you decided against it. You managed to get to the first few rows of grape vines.
‘Just a little further,’ you thought as the world swayed and grew dark, you didn’t even feel yourself hitting the ground nor the worker rushing to help you.
When you woke up you realized you were warm. Then you realized you were in a large, very soft bed in a room you had never seen before. You sat up slowly and looked around. Your wounds were bandaged, and when you looked out the window beside the bed you could see rows of grapevines.
‘I made it,’ you thought as you let yourself relax for the first time in what felt like forever. Just as you relaxed the door to the room swung open, revealing a very stressed out redhead who quickly shut the door behind him. He paused when he looked up before rushing over to the bedside.
“You’re awake,” Diluc said as he raised his hand to your face, ghosting it as if he thought you were going to shatter.
“Yeah,” was all you could think to say as he bent further over and engulfed you in a hug. He didn’t say anything as he held you tighter, but not so much as to agitate your injuries further. Diluc stayed there for a moment, not saying anything.
“You’re here,” was all he said to break the silence, his voice somewhere between relief and desperation.
“I didn’t know where else to go,” you replied as he moved back and sat on the edge of bed by your legs.
“What happened? How are you here? Why were you hurt?!” Diluc leaned closer as he demanded answers.
“Albedo opened a portal that brought me here. He said there were others who knew about, well, this world, and he said they were worse than him but-“ you quickly explained, not looking Diluc in his eyes, but he continued to stare at you. “If I’m going to be trapped here I should be able to pick who I stay with. I got hurt because I ran here from half way up Dragonspine.”
“You have no idea how much I love that you came here,” Diluc said as he grabbed your chin and made you look him in the eyes.
“But you should know that you are never getting away from me.”
Tumblr media
Ok so here’s Diluc’s part, I may do a Liyue character next, but again, no order is set for these. Hope you enjoyed it!

Run away (Venti)
So this is based off of @pandoraw27 Self Aware AU in which the characters are aware they are in a game and are yandere for the player. I highly suggest checking their page out, they respond to a lot of asks and it’s great. This is also planned to be a little series, if it goes well at least, where the premise is roughly the same, but the reader/player runs to a different character. If you want to have a specific character be next or have it written feel free to let me know! I’m not used to writing in second person so sorry if it’s not up to par.
Warnings!: Yandere behavior, kidnapping, mild mentions of blood
Tumblr media
To say that you were a little freaked out would be a horrendous understatement. But being transported into a video game world and basically held hostage by one of the game's characters would do that to anyone. Albedo was nice, mostly. He was still the mostly emotionless man you meet while playing the game, but he was still nice, if a little obsessed.
Another understatement. Albedo himself admitted as much himself, though it was clear he played it down. Even with all his emotional issues it was painfully clear how much he was obsessed, and he wasn’t the only one either. Albedo has let it slip that there were others who were aware, others who were just as obsessed and not as kind, caring, merciful as him.
You waited for him to head out to get some materials for his newest experiment. You had been with him in Dragonspine for about a week now, and you’ve had enough. So what if the other characters were just as bad as him? If you were going to be trapped with an obsessive, self proclaimed boyfriend, you may as well choose your own poison right?
At least fifteen minutes went by before you decided it was safe to make your move. And so, you set off into the cold of the mountain.
If you remembered correctly, you could probably make it to the statue of the seven before Albedo knew you were gone, and with any luck you could run past any monsters and not run into the alchemist. After that it would just take some luck.
The first problem was the bridge. There weren’t any extra gliders, not that you knew how to use one, which meant that you had to either climb, or run and hope to clear the gap.
Climbing was the choice you made, cautiously grasping for hand and foot holds as you made your way across the gap. The air was cold but the rock made your hands even colder, making it even harder to hold on.
Just as you were about to grab the wood of the broken bridge, your foot slipped on a patch of ice. In a panic you quickly grab the bridge just before you fell, accidentally cutting your hand on a rock.
You manage to pull yourself onto the bridge and lay on your back to catch your breath. Your right hand is cut pretty badly, an almost straight line that runs along your palm is bleeding pretty badly, but you’ll live. For the moment it doesn’t hurt, and you can find something to bandage it later.
Now comes the hardest part: getting by those hilichurls. You know it’s a direct path to the statue if you stay going right, but there’s a small group of hilichurls along the path.
You stand near the teleport point to warm up a bit, watching the hilichurls dance. Then you run. It took you a while to cross the gap, and even more time to catch your breath. There was no telling when Albedo would be back and he could cross this distance much faster than you.
And you wouldn’t get a second chance.
You manage to dodge some of their attacks and outrun most of them, but an arrow got lodged into your left side and a blast of ice from the mage hit your right arm, but you kept running.
As you ran they eventually lost interest, and you stumbled your way up the spiral walkway to the statue.
It was cold.
So, so cold.
The fire seelkie warmed you a little before you walked over to the statue. You hoped you were right about this.
You turned your back and collapsed down on the foot of the statue, using it to support your back as you caught your breath.
It was only a second or so before you felt a warm breeze. When you opened your eyes you were greeted with the sight of a very concerned Venti. He rushed over to you, the statue lighting up as your wounds healed. It felt nice, not unlike the breeze Venti brought with him when he arrived.
“(Y/N), what are you doing here? How-Why-“ Venti was at a loss for words. It took him a second to remember that Albedo conducted his experiments here, then everything made sense.
Your first thought was ‘He knows my name?’, but of course he did. Albedo said others were self aware, and Albedo knew your name too, after all.
Venti was about to talk again when the both of you heard someone running. You both turn and you saw Albedo pause for a second, shocked to see Venti, before the wind obscured your vision.
When the wind dissipated you found yourself at the base of Venessa’s tree. Venti looked visibly shaken before his expression darkened into something you’d never seen on his face before.
“Did he hurt you?” Rage. It was rage.
“No, I just ran into some hilichurls.” That made his expression soften a little, but not by much.
“But he just let you wander the mountain alone? Even if there weren’t monsters, you could still freeze to death!”
“Well, I kinda didn’t ask for permission,” and you explained how you got there, and how your last week had been. He sat beside you and listened closely, you decided not to bring up the lack of personal space he gave you.
“Wait wait wait. So you’re saying you decided to just, pick someone to stick with and try to avoid all the others?” Venti cut you off as you tried to explain why you ran.
“I know it sounds stupid, but there’s no way I can fight. Everyone has magic and their visions, and years of experience and I’ve barely thrown a punch. Someone is going to catch me, and I doubt that I’m going to become some great escape artist. So, why not pick my poison, right?” You turn to look him in the eyes, his face very close to yours.
“And you picked me?” Venti leaned a little closer, eyes wide as he was ecstatic to realize you had chosen him. Well of course you had, he was your favorite after all, right?
“Well I hope you realize,” he leaned over more, causing you to lean back to make space, but he just kept leaning. He stopped when his nose was touching your cheek, his bright eyes stared into yours.
“That I’m never letting you go.”

Again, I’m not used to writing in second person, so I hope this isn’t too bad. Hope you enjoyed it!

So like I have one big question about human weirdness.
How did we figure out we can eat what we can eat?
Like who was the first guy to figure out if you boil those weird sea bugs (lobsters are arachnids I know i know) that runny gunk under their shells firms up and is edible? And delicious!
How many people did one village go through before they figured out which part of the pufferfish won’t kill you? And also WHY?
How much experimentation did it take to go “Okay that mushroom is really yummy and tastes like chicken and is safe but that mushroom that looks almost exactly the same will kill you dead.”   ?
Who was the first person to look at an alligator - that ancient and terrifying descendant of legit dinosaurs -and go “Imma gonna eat it!”  ?
Like how did we figure that out?
