I was thinking of a newer character, don't really feel like going further into it, so it's up for the taking but • A clan(race?) of people with super senses (Sight, smell, hearing, touch, and taste). They are used by Hunters almost like dogs to sniff-out/ Find targets. The targets/villains get tired of being caught so they slaughter the clan. They were normal human beings but had odd colored eyes, which is how they are recognized. The survivor thinks Gon one because of his great sight and smell

Uhh, i don’t really support this idea. 

TIPS:

First off, kurapika’s clan was slaughtered because they possibly stole something from the phantom troupe, so there is a background. Simply being tired isn’t enough of a reason to actually do that.

Secondly, a clan with super-senses needs to have some form of weakness. I advise not making similarities with canon (unlike naruto with byakugan, etc.) Make something original. Did they have weird birthmarks or something? Were they repressed of something? Were there any side effects in having these naturally born talents?Make something unique.

Another thing i’ve notice, is that ocs tend to be naturally gifted or born perfect. Let me tell you something, there is always a good and a bad to everything. Being naturally gifted in let’s say your studies means you speed up the process of learning part of it, like taking a quick speedup program in school to graduate. You know why most of us don’t take it? You miss out tricks and tips in learning the subject. A perfect anime example would be kageyama and oikawa. The best part is, for you it’d be fun for you to write your character with self-improvement.

Also, don’t mess up the main plot too much. Also, why would gon be mistaken as your kin? he doesn’t have odd colored eyes right?

Hello! I got into Hunter x Hunter a little while ago and I'm working on an OC but I'm not sure how well I'm doing or how accurate my information is (Even having watched the show and read some of the manga and STALKED the wiki page) so I wasn't sure if you actually... do reviews and allow people to submit full profiles of OCs at all? I'm making a character who is a manipulator/emitter. His main thing is to emit his nen into a zombie like forms and manipulate those zombies. His trump card is called Zombie Cleric: Scholar of the dead. It takes up %70 of his nen to use, but the zombie cleric can regenerate nen, and slightly heal wounds. He looks like a holy priest, but he's a zombie. It's kinda cool. ANYWAY! I need a close range fighting ability that has to do with the undead of some sort, but I can't think of one. Please help!

by close range, you mean the zombies or like self? by the way elaborate on the regenerate nen, because that 70% thing won’t make a difference and regenerating nen is virtually impossible, more like absorbing nen from sources :)

why not try something like, numbing your physical senses on some body parts like the dead, so you won’t feel any pain in that particular place? The zombie thing is pretty hard xD or make infections

Know what’s real fucked? Every other age group has the correct aged actors representing them except teenagers. Adults play adults - children play children; but teenagers are played by more adults. Why? Because apparently our body changes from puberty are too ugly for TV. So what happens? We go through those years looking at the perfect “teenagers” and wondering why we don’t look like that.

Hello. I am curious about making my OC have a special ability. I was thinking of a charm caster. Is there anything you have in mind for that kind of power along with nen abilities?

Hmm, if we’re talking Charm as in the love concept it’s not that much of a special ability, since we already have a perfect example of a person like that in hxh, Baise.

Baise is a manipulator who’s power works by kissing someone and make them “charmed” by her, so yeah. If we’re talking about what kind of powers should follow that’s something you have to think about yourself because the possibilities are endless :)

if you want categories though, i suggest you choose something passive like when you used your charm abilities

about oc reviews

We’ve been getting a couple of asks about oc reviews for a while, and we wanted to point things out. yes, we would love to review your oc however, please remember that we are real live people not drones. You need to be considerate in how you will give the necessary information and ask how we will review your oc

1. Never send your profiles to ask. It’s such a hassle to organize your informatioin when you just throw it to use like that. Make a detailed profile, not just bullet points of your info 2. ASK NICELY. God is it that hard to be polite?  3. Please add a reference for your oc if you could. (by ref we mean images)

I want to name my HxH OC Violet Rokeya. Is it okay? I named her Violet cause I felt like something my OC's mother would name... And since my OC hates her family, she goes by the name of Fifi to people. :/ Because there was a show she used to love as a kid and the main character's name was Fifi and the show always used to cheer her up so that's why she doesn't like to tell people her real name but rather Fifi. So is does that count as a sign of Mary Sue? >

wait wait hold up, we can't understand what you're trying to say exactly. Well, if there isn't a real reason for it, it's best to avoid it? Well i think it's ok, but kinda cliche? Maybe drop the hate family thing, like people naturally don't like their names sometimes, so like why not use that?

Wait I'm confused I know that some hunters have been shown using their emitter abilities to create a masseuse or an ape aren't those living creatures in the real world or is it more like your nen taking that form but not being really alive?

yes xD they are not really alive, unless you are using conjurer abilities, which involves materializing real life forms out of energy, but it is highly unlikely due to the fact you would need vast knowledge of the life form you make, and basically touch, sketch, etc. a thousand times from 7 - 50 years ranging from the complexity of the being (though it is an estimate, it took kurapika 3 months to be exact he had to LICK chains, he had to be the chain (done when gon & killua were training for nen) to conjure chains, imagine having to construct a human being.

Is it possible to emit a ninja or a samurai?

in a ephemeral ethereal sense, yes. strictly speaking, emitting a real-life ninja, samurai or any other living creature is never tempted, due to having to construct it in a very detailed manner that can last a lifetime.

You can emit a ninja or a samurai like being though, go nuts :D
