Leaked comments from a meeting between released hostages and Netanyahu reveals rage towards the israeli government. During this meeting Netanyahu was heckled and shouted at by released hostages, who accused him of wanting to topple "the Hamas government, to show that you have bigger balls... You put politics above the return of the kidnapped.”

They speak of being shelled by IDF helicopters, of realizing the IDF is considering flooding the tunnels where hostages are with sea water.

A man with released family members said “They were under constant threat from the IDF shelling. You sat in front of us and assured us that it does not threaten their lives. They also roam the street and [are] not only in the tunnels. They are mounted on donkeys and carts. You will not be able to recognize them on the street and you are endangering their lives. It is our duty to return them now.”

"When Netanyahu said Hamas was to blame for the end of the truce, an individual identified by ynet as a family member of a released hostage replied: 'Nonsense.'”

I wasn't able to finish this Drabble for @this-world-of-beautiful-monstersby tonight so I will just post a snippet of it for WIP Wednesday instead. 💕

Content Warnings: Implied non-con, child abuse and neglect

After the battle at Three Brother’s Rocks, after they return Neteyam to Eywa along with all the others lost in the fight, Tonowari welcomes Jake and his family to stay at Awa’atlu permanently. 

“Your son lies with our ancestors,” Tonowari says. “You are Metkayina now.”

The words feel like applying a salve to all of Jake’s wounds, and he extends an aching, exhausted arm to meet Tonowari’s in a warrior’s hold. But then he pauses. 

“What about Spider?” He asks. The offer of home and security for his family is a gift, but Spider is also family now. It took Jake too long to realize that he always has been. 

Next to Tonowari, Ronal’s ears flick in confusion. “Who?” 

“The human boy?” Tonowari asks. 

Jake nods, pulling back from his hold on Tonowari’s arm. “He is my family, too.”

Suddenly it feels like he has crossed a line. Anxiety washes over Jake, and he braces himself for the offer of home to be rescinded. Ronal’s expression turns sour, and he knows what she’s about to say. But Tonowari puts a hand on her shoulder to stop her. He looks at Jake carefully, searchingly. 

“You are the boy’s tirea sa’sem?” 

Without hesitation, Jake says, “Yes.” 

It’s true. The McCoskers were his guardians back in the forest but they were hardly parents. And those marks on Spider’s body, the way he begged Quaritch not to hurt Kiri even while the Sea Dragon was sinking, even with Neytiri’s knife to his throat—

Daddy, please don’t hurt her. You have to let her go, daddy. 

No. Spider is his son. He’ll die first before letting him slip away again. His resolve must show on his face, because Tonowari nods once. 

“Then he stays with you.”
