thinking about that post of people assuming ao3 has an algorithm and also about how bonkers persistent the view is that ao3 is social media lite. like with startling regularity I get comments saying something along the lines of "it's probably weird to comment on a fic this old--" no it isn't!!!! this is an archive I am literally just assuming you searched for a selection of specific tags or sorted by kudos or looked back on my pseud or any other number of completely normal ways to use an archive site ?? kill the tiktok ghost in your brain and comment on old stuff it's NOT weird

id like to be a pirate just to know the awe inspiring terror of the storms at sea, to see the calm waves that you cant separate the sea from the sky, to find creatures from shallow waters to deep hulking aliens. To hear the songs of mermaids and the temptation of sirens, the call of adventure, of treasure, of going through life without limit or law of normality. To have that connection and trust and kinship with your shipmates laying on decl after a long storm and a sunny day, To have rivalries without insurance that youll see the beginning of tomorrows dawn, to have that fear and paranoia of loneliness of that hunger of being watched when no one is there, that feeling of seeing a dark shadow pass under your ship, when fog surrounding you defeaning in its silence and a ghost ship pass you by, Id love to know the life of being a pirate all to the hopes of finding clues and myths and lores in hopes of finding treasure of lost civilization drowned due to their betrayal and greed of the gods.

Ya know. Having a baby brother with an age gap of.... *pause to calculate the years * 36 years...

Its quite strange.In a good way.

Like Im the same age as his mother when she had him. (Good going Captain)
