California’s Wine Country is famed for its rich variety of premium wineries, Michelin star restaurants, and picturesque vineyards. Wine-making and tourism are big business here, with Napa and Sonoma Counties leading the way. Now that California has legalized the recreational use of cannabis since 2016, it is no wonder that marijuana farmers have been eyeing these fertile lands to kick start local cultivation.

Unfortunately, there has been strong opposition to marijuana growing in these regions. While the sale and use of marijuana is permitted, the state legislature has left it up to local authorities to decide on the details. Earlier this month, Napa County’s Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to ban the agricultural growing, processing, and sale of marijuana in its unincorporated areas.

A United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) accredited certifying agent provides the standard organic certification. Medical Cannabis Coming soon in Pharmacies in Louisiana

Frustrated patients in Louisiana may soon be able to heave a sigh of relief

If all goes well in the final round of testing of GB Sciences cannabis oil formulations by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF).

According to the Agriculture Commissioner, Mike Strain, if the product samples pass tests for homogeneity, potency, and are found to be free of contaminants, the products could be available to patients in the next few weeks. He did, however, warn that in the event of issues arising from the samples, the testing process could be extended further than the expected seven business days.

Opposition to Homegrow – Is the Concern for Public Safety Genuine?

Under a chapter named ‘The Fallacy of Home Grow’, the NYMCIA makes somewhat misleading arguments against home cultivation for personal use.

Over the last couple of decades, there has been much success in making marijuana use legal. Currently, there are 11 states and the District of Columbia that have passed laws allowing cannabis to be used recreationally, while 33 states and the District of Columbia have legalized medical marijuana.

Just last year, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo pleasantly surprised many by endorsing legislation that would legalize marijuana for recreational use. This came as a surprise as Cuomo has previously stated his opposition to medical and recreational marijuana, and referred to it as a gateway drug. Thankfully, in 2014 he did approve a bill establishing a medical marijuana program in the state.
