coming this Wednesday (Tuesday for Patreon folks)
Tumblr media
We're in the home strait for season three now. Expect changes in the status quo, rising stakes, and the Horrors. Some stuff is going to start making sense, in the worst way possible. I love this episode.
If you're not caught up yet there is a whole 37 episodes of Not Quite Dead already live, that's over 12 hours of gay vampire content for your ears, which you can listen to wherever you listen to podcasts by searching 'Not Quite Dead' and clicking the show which says 'a show about vampires' on the cover.

4. Is there a specific episode that was especially fun to work on?
the most fun episodes in SBR were always the ones with other performers, especially the ones which we managed to have the big rehearsals for. S2's 35 was a big one for that, and the S1 & S2 finales. Just good vibes, honestly!!
my favourite episode of Clockwork Bird to work on was the one where Shelly rescues the hamster. I loved writing all the bonkers conspiracy board stuf, that was so fun, and Daisy did a great job with the performance there, it was so fun to edit. I was also just properly getting into the rhythm of sound design by that stage too, it was a good time!
so far my favourite episode of NQD to work on was the opening of S3. I'm really proud of how it turned out and it's such a fun little idea. but I also had a lot of fun with episode 38 which I have to say my be my favourite of the season?? I know it's not good to have favourite children but I've loved every bit of this one, from concept to execution, I just hope everyone else likes it when it comes out!!

fun funeral facts
embalming, the process of chemically preserving a corpse, is typically not required by law. unless you need to transport the body long-distance or postpone the burial, it’s 100% a vanity thing.
a body still rots in air-tight conditions. so “protective” or “sealed” caskets are basically a scam, and anything fancy like metal is a waste of money.
want a beautiful casket for a viewing, but think burning or burying an expensive piece of hardwood is a waste of money and trees? rentals exist.
you don’t need a coffin for cremation. the minimum requirement is that the body be in a “cremation container,” which is a simple cardboard box.
home funerals are an option. you don’t need to hand the body over to a funeral home, and you can keep their involvement to a minimum.
natural burial sites exist. you can have your unembalmed body straight up thrown in the dirt to be tree food, if you want.
there are a lot of funeral homes that will prey on your ignorance and vulnerability in order to get as much money out of you as possible. they may imply optional certain services are legally mandatory, steer you away from cheaper options, charge additional costs for what’s supposed to be all-inclusive services, etc.
one person’s death is another person’s profit. know your rights, do your research, and apply the same scrutiny you would to any other business.

Audio drama ask meme: Creator edition
The last one was extremely fun, but I want this one to help people help promo their wonderful shows!
1. What stage of production is the most fun for you?
2. What’s a role in a different show you’ve heard one of your cast members in and just been absolutely blown away by?
3. Show us an excerpt of script you’re extremely proud of.
4. Is there a specific episode that was especially fun to work on?
5. Be honest, which is your favourite character to write lines for?
6. You have to turn your podcast into a different type of media: what do you go for?
7. Tag a show you think would make a great crossover with your own (and maybe make it happen, who knows 👀)
8. Pick a character from your show and put together an outfit you think they’d wear.
9. If your show was a different genre what genre would it be and how would the plot change?
10. Recommend a couple of other shows for people who like your own!
11. Share a fun bts fact people might not know.
12. Share something about a future episode that will mean nothing right now but will one day.
13. What’s your favourite portion of sound design from the show?
14. Share a show meme.
15. Are you working on anything else outside of this show?
16. Briefly outline your process for making a season happen.
17. What’s something that inspired your show?
18. What’s something you’d like the audience to take away from your show?
19. Do you have any playlists/music you listen to while working on production?
20. What’s a moment from the show that just absolutely took your breath away when you heard it come together for the first time?
As always, please reblog, share, and enjoy! No need to send asks!

a new SBRR is live!!
Tumblr media
After a little unscheduled pause, I'm wrapping up the last few episodes of Season Two of Spirit Box Radio in this reflective episode where I muse over various writing and production choices!
This episode covers the last nine episodes of Season Two, covering both the pseudo-finale in episode 35 and the finale finale in episode 38! There's also a fun and funky tiny sneak-peek at the new show, Remnants, which will start airing 15th July 2024.
I so hope you have fun looking back at these episodes of SBR, they're amongst my favourites of the show!
You can listen to SBRR in the SBR feed by searching for 'Spirit Box Radio' wherever you listen to podcasts, or you can find links here: https://pod.link/1532924804
If you want to find out more about the new show, Remnants, you can do so here: https://hangingslothstudios.com/remnants/ or find its very own tumblr page @remnantspod!
Supporters on Patreon get early access to all airing shows, including Remnants! https://www.patreon.com/posts/103877173

pro-crunch taking a STRONG early lead here
i should have anticipated this from the audience of this particular show, i'm so proud of you
there is a scene in XXXIX which is... uhhhh.
it's not a sexy scene, and it's kind of real-time gross. grosser in real time than XXIX, potentially the, uh, most 'ewwwww' real time moment in any thing i've made to this point. to the extent that i've been on the fence about whether i ought to scrap and rewrite that whole section as something told after the fact because it's a bit too. um. **crunchy**.
anyway. that being said, i'll be making this call based entirely on my own vibes wrt to this scene but i'm still curious as to what people think.

The song (labled as Mouth full of blood in the transcripts) at the end of SBR 1.21 gas burroed into my brain but i cant find it anywhere!
I even tried looking for maybe Wednesday's socials but they all look dead...
Is it unreleased or am i just missing something?
Maybe Wednesday hasn't reallly been an active thing independent of the shows I make since pre-pandemic. Like everything else in my shows, it's a project that I'm responsible for and this track is not currently available anywhere. I may release it at some point in the future!
