I know monotheism exists in Hinduism. But it's when ppl say it's purely monotheistic with no polytheistic roots that gets me.

Cuz I recently came across an Assamese folktale "Tejimola" while doing research about ahem Chhota Bheem ahem....

And in Bengal actually we have a VERY similar tale, from Thakumar Jhuli called "Monimala" I love that story tbh

So.... I just wanted to ask :D

Oh yeah big sucker for Grimm brothers, Hans Christian Andersen, Lakhminath Bezboruah (the guy who wrote Tejimola) and a lot of other fairytale writers :3

Oooo Monimala? I haven't quite heard of it. But yes I LOVE Tejimola and Champavati. My personal favs from Bezboruah da (me calling him da like he ain't like he ain't over a century older than me-) :DD
