Prongsfoot is the couple that leaves an impression on others. Some wonder how they can stand such intensity in a relationship, some are afraid.

The way they recall every detail of the other, making inside jokes that date back to literally their first week of being friends. Sirius and James mind so filled with the person they love most. People wonder how they don't get tired of it. It's impossible for prongsfoot though.

Life is boring the moment the other leaves the room.

Though it doesn't mean they are *always* together. It's just that in their minds and hearts, the other is always present at the forefront.

They are eternal love, they are passionate love, they are quiet love when they let themselves feel the hurt they pretend not to feel in the public eye but do so in front of the other. Cat Mistake

Written for @prongsfoot-microfic prompt April 1, 2023: Magical

James likes being able to pick Sirius up like this. It's fun, getting to scoop him up and hold him against his chest as he walks from class to class. 

Sirius finds it less amusing, but maybe that has less to do with James picking him up all the time and more to do with him being a cat. He doesn't need to be able to talk to communicate that he doesn't like this whole 'cat' business. He's a dog, thru and thru.

"You've still got black fur," James tells him. "That's got to count for something."

Sirius looks up at him and blinks slowly.

"Oh, enough of that." He kisses the top of his head. Merlin, his fur is so bloody soft like this. He kisses him again. "You'll be back to normal soon-- so big you can knock me over without trying." James starts to pull away, but Sirius stretches up and bops his head against James's chin. 

James pauses in moving away and looks at him.

Sirius looks right at him and meows pointedly.

James scratches at his ears-- much lighter than he does to Padfoot as a dog. He starts purring and James coos, uncaring of the way some other students look at him as they pass by. Hell, Sirius is so damn cute like this that he barely sees them. "You are the cutest thing ever," he squeals. 

Sirius snuggles closer, curling into James and purring louder.

Ok but we all agree that James Fucking Potter has the longest, thickest, prettiest damn eyelashes on this earth right?? Cause he does. The prettiest.

He removed his glasses once in the Great Hall during lunch and the Hogwarts students haven't gotten over it since then. They're envious. They're jealous. They're mad. Mascara and eyelash curler have nothing on his lashes. They're attracted to him.

(Sirius is in pain. James already has the largest brown doe eyes, and then he has the prettiest eyelashes too?? People keep asking him why he always goes along with whatever James says like- have you not seen that boy bat his eyelashes and say "pretty please with a cherry on top pleaseeee"?? He's a menace. A threat to society. A manipulator. Sirius loves him.)

prongsfoot/bambibelle is limbs tangled under covers because theyre both tall af and talking at night when no one else is awake about things they can't say to anyone else and running into the field behind the potters' house in their animagus forms at dawn and looks exchanged in classes and exams when they're the only ones who are done with the work and being the first person the other looks for in a crowd and being insanely obsessed with each other and messy,sloppy kisses and play-fighting all the time and being inseparable and sirius losing his mind at james sweaty and playing quidditch and james in turn losing his mind at sirius being a smartass and everyone around them feeling left out.
