WARNING, long winded post that has been nagging at me for a while. A venting of frustration at the news, the world, and human nature. This also includes a very graphic and depressing music video.
I've watched this video a while ago and I felt it was too graphic to share but honestly. . . it is the sad truth and it ate me for a while. Just a few days past I picked up a paper at my local bowling alley that made mention of the horrors going on at Aleppo. The truth is, war is a truly horrid thing for those caught up in it. Those who suffer most in my eyes are the children. I grew up hearing of the Bosnian war/crises. I met a few kids who fled to my hometown and went to my school who suffered from this. I remember my morning shows put on hold as President Clinton explained the operation. I was too young to understand. I am older now, and having seen what war does to a region, to a city, to a neighborhood, to a home, to a family, I can honestly say it is horrid. Politics aside, I don't care, Ukrainian, Russian, Pro-Russian, Pro-Ukrainian, or other, Syrian, Russian, Rebel, ISIS, Peshmerga, or what ever. . . it is all just names that a child would not understand, yet a child suffers from it. All just imaginary lines on a map a child wouldn't care to learn.
I'm not even a father and I find this to be one of the greatest sins of humankind to see a child suffer from adult conflict. I've always had the romantic idea of what war should be, but sad truth is, war is far from those romantic ideals.
I will continue to teach about human history, I will peruse my goals to be a history teacher, I will aspire to teach children of wars present and past, I will continue to serve my country with loyalty and faith, I will continue to be the best human I can be, but I will still find what happens in war to the innocent to be the worst things imaginable. Who needs Hell when we create our own version of it?
WARNING this video is VERY GRAPHIC. This clearly has bias towards one side of the political agenda in regards to the Ukraine War Crises, but at the same time, it does paint the images we hate to see, those who are called "collateral damage".
