I hate the “open floor plan” that everyone is obsessed with in houses now. I want nooks and crannies and bizarre floor plans. I don’t need to be able to see what someone is doing on the other side of the house. I want places to hide and lurk and dwell in the shadows. I am the beast who awaits in the labyrinth

Also, right now Klaus is wasped and definitionally unreliable. Gil knows that. I’m not entirely ruling out Klaus being able to cause trouble between Gil and Tarvek, but he’d have to work pretty hard to make it happen.
(I am also looking forward to seeing Klaus’s reaction to the Skifandrian warrior—he may or may not have worked out her identity—that he thinks is here to kill Gil, standing right next to Gil’s girlfriend. He’s going to be so upset.)
Cannot WAIT for Klaus to get back and find out that not only did the overlay not stop Gil from dating Agatha, it also did not stop him from dating Tarvek Sturmvurous.

(Bruce Wayne voice) I’m Bruce Wayne, from Gotham City, I’m participating in Nailed It! because for years I’ve tried to learn how to bake to impress my father [cuts to old pic of baby Bruce trying to whisk in a bowl, wearing a crooked chef hat, Alfred trying to help him with a really loving look on his face], and- (someone in the background yells LIAR!!) (Bruce covers his face, the background music stops) fine I lost a bet to one of my kids and they thought it would be hilarious for me to participate because I’m terrible in the kitchen [cuts to picture of grown Bruce with a pan on fire, looking absolutely frantic, sad trombone sound] [the people behind the camera laugh]

A panorama of the horizon I took during the totality of the eclipse today -- on the west side of the Great Lake Science Center, there for the eclipse festival.
Part of this is an unobstructed view out over the lake, part of this is downtown Cleveland.

Favorite Footnotes of Girl Genius: An Appreciation (1/?)
I love footnotes.
I particularly love the way the Girl Genius novels do footnotes, so in this weekend with a cliffhanger page and the An Entertainment in Londinium Kickstarter chugging along (back it if you haven't!) I'm going to highlight (some of) my favorites and what they do.
Because I can.
Extra Worldbuilding, Agatha H. and the Clockwork Princess, page 402:
The Europa of Girl Genius has free, effective, destigmatized, widely available birth control! And it's tea!
Love a good background detail. 100% would put into a fanfic.

Sometimes reading Arthuriana feels like reading Alice in Wonderland.
“Well,” said Alice, “these are a dreadfully strange assortment of objects!”
“They all symbolize different aspects of Our Lord’s martyrdom,” said the Fisher King, casting a line into his teacup.
“Indeed. I am sure everything symbolizes something else, for if everything was only itself I should be very confused. Might I ask what the point of the bleeding lance is?”
Alice regretted asking the question as soon as she had done so, for she saw the pun that would likely be made about the word point. Instead, however, the room erupted in applause and shouts of “The Grail! She has achieved the Grail!”
The next castle she visited, Alice resolved to herself as the inhabitants of this one danced for joy, would be more sensible.
