Frozen in time.

I love cooking shows, they're so happy and innocuous. To a certain extent.

My fave of all time is Anthony Bourdain. The travel and sarcasm, reflections on ethics, politics etc. But doesn't get too depressing (most of the time). It is, I acknowledge, of a different era and also through the lens of a white American man.

But, I still go back to it. I mean, he cared about the subjects he was filming/reporting.

And I can't help thinking, well what would he have thought of the pandemic, the policies, Trump, the war in Ukraine, the middle east crisis, etc. etc. He died before all that. Was spared all of that.
