@clarenspou OMG THIS IS INCREDIBLE!!!
Thank you so much for sharing this!!! Im so happy someone else thought of this!
Kimetsu no Yaiba AU (Mikayuu ver.)
Yuu panted as he trudged through the deep snow, the cold wind freezing his face and eyes with every step he took. He didn’t care though, he needed to get Mika help. Mika was the only one of his family that was still warm, the others were cold and lifeless, so if he had any chance to save anyone, it was Mika.
“Hang in there Mika, I promise I won’t let you die!”
Part of him hoped for a response from his friend, but he wasn’t surprised when he heard none. Mika’s silence only spurred him forward however, he wouldn’t fail him again! He’d let him down once, he’d left him and the others to die such a horrible death, while he slept peacefully in Mr. Kaji’s house!
“Please don’t die! Please... I’m going to get you help Mika!”
The mountain they lived on had never seemed to far from the village before, but now it felt as if it would take years to even get to Mr. Kaji’s house. He’d get there though! He had to! He had to!
Movement on his back made Yuu pause, he looked over his shoulder towards Mika, only for his foot to slip on the snow. Both of them were sent tumbling down the sharp incline next to them, the thick blanket of snow breaking Yuu’s fall.
The raven haired boy groaned, his head spinning. Luckily nothing hurt, so he could keep going, but Mika-
Wait.
“Mika!” Yuu’s head snapped up and he looked all around him, searching for his blond friend amongst the snow. Mika was hurt! He needed to check if he was ok!
Yuu’s eyes then caught sight of something between the trees, not too far from him. He stood up, the white and blue of Mika’s kimono coming into view. Yuu stepped closer, glad to see Mika was well enough to stand up, but the other’s head was dipped, perhaps he was in pain.
“Mika, are you ok?” Yuu stepped forward, the action causing Mika’s head to snap up towards him.
In the blink of an eye Mika was on him, his hands grasping Yuu’s shoulders painfully as he pushed him into the snow once more. Yuu’s eyes widened, hands coming up to push Mika’s face instinctively. It was then he saw his friend clearly, and his heart began to beat frantically.
Mika’s blue eyes were wide, crazed, and the pupil in the center was slanted, much like a cat’s. His mouth was open wide in a snarl, showing sharp canines that rivaled a wolf’s. The vein on his head protruded on the skin, showing the effort he put into trying to sink his teeth into Yuu. Then Mika opened his mouth, growling like an animal as he pushed his head closer to Yuu’s face. It was then the raven felt the sting of claws digging into his skin, and it all clicked into place.
Yuu wasn’t sure how, but Mika had been turned into a demon. His eyes widened, this couldn’t be happening. Why Mika?! Mika was the kindest person he’d ever known, he gave everything for his family, leaving himself for last. How could this happen?!
“Mika listen to me! You can fight this!” Yuu tried gauging a reaction from his friend.
But Mika made no indication he could hear, simply snarling and digging his claws further into Yuu’s skin. Yuu ground his teeth and pushed Mika as best as he could, he wouldn’t give up on him, he was the last of his family!
“I know I abandoned you Mika, I know how much pain you must’ve all been in... and I’m sorry!” Yuu blinked away the tears that gathered in his eyes, “But please fight back, I promise I’m going to help you, don’t let this thing take control!”
For a few seconds Mika didn’t react, his mouth coming closer to Yuu’s face, but he wouldn’t give up.
“Mika please! Remember!”
Then something wet landed on his face, and when Yuu opened his eyes to look he saw Mika’s eyes full of tears. His eyes were no longer crazed, but full of sadness, his entire body was shaking, trying to fight the urge to devour his friend.
Yuu almost sagged with relief, seeing that Mika had regained some of his self. But that was all broken however when a figure came up behind Mika, and the glint of a sword against the light urged him to act. Yuu pushed Mika aside, rolling them both out of the way as the sword cut into the ground where they previously lay.
Both of them crashed against the bark of a tree, Yuu’s back hitting it as Mika landed on his chest. Yuu looked up, seeing a man wearing a black and green kimono staring at him. The man was tall, clearly an adult, and had dark hair not unlike his own, he also wielded a katana, which he brandished in their direction.
“Why did you stop me from killing that demon?” The man asked.
Yuu held onto Mika, who trashed in his grip, trying to get away. “Mika’s not a demon! He’s my friend!”
The swordsman scoffed, “You call that thing your friend?” He pointed his blade at Mika, who snarled and bared his teeth at him.
Before Yuu could come up with a defense for Mika the man rushed forward, Yuu curled forward to shield his friend from the attack but when he brought his arms around him he caught empty space instead. Yuu gasped, looking up at the sound of more snarling.
“Look at him.” The man was holding both I Mika’s arms behind his back with only one of his, his other arm on his sword still.
Mika trashed violently, but it seemed helpless as the man didn’t even flinch, keeping him firmly in place. The blond turned his head to try and bite at the swordsman, but his position wouldn’t allow it.
“This is nothing but a beast, he’s not your friend anymore.”
Yuu gasped as the man raised his sword, “Wait! Please don’t kill him! Mika- Mika is all I have left! My family was killed by a demon, but it wasn’t Mika, their scents were different! Mika wouldn’t hurt anyone!” Yuu stood up.
The man seemed to contemplate Yuu’s words, but ultimately shook his head. “This boy may have not killed your family, but his injuries were infected with demon blood, which turned him into this. Perhaps he wasn’t the culprit of this crime, but if left to live he will commit many others.”
“Now look away. I am a demon slayer, which means I will need to kill him.” The man raised his sword towards Mika’s neck. Yuu sprung into action.
The raven pulled out the hatchet he had on his back, running through the trees and picking up stones as he did so. He threw them at the swordsman in between the gaps in the trees, watching as he blocked each one easily. Then, just before he went behind the cover of the next tree, he threw the hatchet into the air, hoping the man didn’t see. Yuu rushed at the swordsman bare handed, hoping his rush would be enough of a distraction for his hatchet to strike true.
“A forward assault fueled only be emotion... how foolish.” The man raised his arm just as Yuu came into reach, bringing down the side of his palm between his neck and shoulder.
Yuu dropped like a dead weight, landing face first into the snow. He was out like a light, eyes closed in utter defeat. Before the swordsman could continue however something dug itself into the tree behind him. The man turned, seeing a hatched imbedded into the wood, dangerously close to his head. He looked back at Yuu, he couldn’t believe he’d conjured such a plan that almost worked.
Before he could ponder the plan any more the demon in his grasp wrenched himself free, kicking him away with ease before turning towards the unconscious boy. Crap! Because of his carelessness the demon was gonna kill that kid!
The demon didn’t do that however, he stood in front of the boy protectively and snarled at him. No way... demons don’t do that. He’s seen newly turned demons devour their family and loved ones without a second thought. And this demon who just turned, that was injured and should be dying to feast, was wasting the small amount of energy he had on protecting that boy.
These two boys definitely weren’t normal.
The demon rushed at him, his blue eyes wide in anger as he swiped at him with his claws. He dodged each attack left and right, ducking low as the boy threw a kick at his head. He knew by experience that demon’s blows we’re strong enough to tear your limbs off so he made it a point to dodge or block them with his sword.
The man raised his hand as the demon rushed at him, bringing the side of his palm between his shoulder and neck just as he had done to his friend, knocking him out cold. It was an easy battle, a recently formed demon that was injured and starved was no threat to him. Still, this situation was unlike anything he’d ever dealt with before, a demon that remembered their past and protected someone, a human no less.
It was unheard of.
~~
Yuu woke up with a start, a gasp tearing itself from his throat as he sat up from his spot on the ground. He looked beside him to see Mika there, eyes closed and wounds treated. There was something over his mouth however, much like a gag that covered his mouth completely. It seemed to be made of bamboo, and it was tied on the back of his head.
“So you’re finally awake.”
Yuu turned towards the sound of the voice, seeing the swordsman resting against the bark of a tree. He pushed himself from it and crossed his arms, looking down at the raven haired boy.
“Your friend is different from other demons, so I let him live.” He explained, “But what exactly do you plan to do with him?”
Yuu blinked and looked back at Mika, who slept peacefully, “I’m going to turn him back into a human.” He have the man a hard stare, unwilling to back down.
The man chuckled, “I won’t say it’s impossible, however... the only ones who can turn demons back into humans are probably demons themselves, powerful ones. You’ll need to become a demon slayer if you ever hope to find a cure.”
Yuu listened intently, nodding along to the swordsman’s explanation. “How can I become a demon slayer?”
The man seemed to like his answer, he smirked, “Go to the next town down south. At the base of the mountain that greets the sun you will meet a man that wears a mask. Tell him Guren Ichinose sent you.”
Yuu nodded, grinning at Guren before standing up. He heard something move and looked down to see Mika had opened his eyes, and was staring blankly at him.
“He should be fine for now since it’s cloudy, but never let him into the sunlight again. Even the slightest ray will burn a demon alive.” Guren crossed his arms, watching Yuu help Mika up.
“Thank you Guren! You won’t regret this!”
“I better not. Cuz if your little boyfriend ends up killing humans I’m going to be the one to put him down. Got it?” Guren’s eyes narrowed, but Yuu met the threat head on.
“Got it. But don’t worry, Mika wouldn’t do anything like that, right Mika?” Yuu asked, turning to his friend and squeezing his hand.
The demon still seemed out of it though, for he nodded his head a few seconds too late. Still, any response was better than nothing, it meant the boy was somewhat sentient.
“Good. Now I gotta go, make sure you don’t die out there.” Guren turned and waved lazily, but deep inside he wondered if he’d made the right choice.

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind AU (Black Clover ver.)
Yuno groaned as he pulled on the rope underneath him, bringing it up to his chest and tightening the knot tied between the mill’s fans. He kneeled down to make sure it was secure, nodding in satisfaction before dusting off his hands.
“It should be good now, turn it on.” Yuno spoke to Klaus, who quickly ducked back into the building.
Yuno stepped away from the fans just in time for them to start back up, looking at the mechanism up and down to make sure everything was in place before going into the building after Klaus.
“It’s working just fine now. Call me if you need any repairs.”
“Thank you so much your highness!” The owner, a burly man named Rance, bowed, his wife smiling and bowing as well.
Yuno waved them off, “It’s no big deal, you don’t have to bow.” He sighed, wishing his people would stop treating him so differently. He was adopted for Christ sake.
“Can you handle the rest Klaus? I’m late for my scavenging trip.” Yuno spoke to his advisor as he exited the house, making a beeline for the castle.
“I’ll take care of it, but please your highness be careful. Allow me to assist you at least-“
Yuno cut the man with a raise of his hand, marching up the stairs and looking back down with a bored expression.
“I need to go alone. If I have you with me I won’t be able to take my glider.” Yuno spoke matter-of-factly. “And without it there’s just too many places I won’t be able to go into.”
Without another word the prince turned and entered the castle, using the back door to avoid any of the servants. He made it to the equipment room rather quickly, picking up his mask, goggles and shotgun. Afterwards he made sure to have his sword and gunpowder capsules, storing them in his pockets before heading towards his glider.
“Yuno.”
The prince stopped halfway to mounting his glider, turning towards the voice of his father, Licht. He took off his goggles and set down his vehicle, wondering what Licht could want right now.
“What is it?”
Licht gave him that warm smile he gave to all the people he cared about, stepping further into the room and gazing out into the valley just outside Yuno’s landing port.
“You don’t need to do this you know.” Licht started, turning towards his son.
Yuno sighed, he should’ve known this was it. “I know.”
“Then why do you insist on going out there?”
The prince turned away, gazing out towards the valley as well with narrowed eyes. “Because I made a promise to someone.” He answered.
“As you’ve said. I’m surprised you still remember it though, that must’ve been quite some time before you came here.”
Yuno hummed, “It’s important to me.” He admitted, kneeling down to turn on his glider.
Licht stepped back, recognizing the signs of his son running away. He knew he wouldn’t get anything more out of him, it’d be best to let him go.
“Please be careful Yuno,” Licht reached over and held his son’s hand in his “We couldn’t bear losing you.”
Yuno looked at their joined hands for a few seconds before nodding, picking up his glider and readying himself for takeoff.
“You won’t, I promise.”
And then he ran off, leaping off the wooden platform and turning so he landed atop his glider. The people below looked up upon his takeoff, many of them waving at him. Yuno never understood why they revered him so much, but he was polite enough to wave back regardless.
The prince looked up from the valley and angled his glider upwards, taking farther up into the air and over the village’s mountainside. Once he cleared that his objective came into view, the Toxic Jungle’s massive shadow looming over the horizon.
Yuno took the chance to gaze at his surroundings, the vast desert standing between his prosperous kingdom and the Toxic Jungle serving as a great barrier to protect them from the toxins in the air. He quickly put on his mask, sliding it on with practiced ease.
Getting to the jungle was an easy task, the open desert allowing him to fly smoothly all the way to its edge. Once there however he switched his stance so he held himself horizontally over it, taking care of his head as he flew past the giant trees.
He entered without a problem, thankful for his glider’s quiet mechanisms as he landed safely in a small clearing. He gazed out towards the foliage, glad to see no insects were nearby. He quickly folded his glider and hid it between the roots of a giant tree, not wanting an Ohmu to accidentally trample it.
Yuno moved quick after that, ducking under tree roots and over canals in search of anything that could aid in his research. So far nothing, all the plants and insects he came across were those who’s samples he already had in his collection. Still he kept looking, keeping his eyes and ears open for any sign of a bug getting too close.
Two hours went by before he finally found something worthwhile. Yuno kneeled in front of a Midnight Spore and pulled out one of his test tubes, carefully removing a few samples of the spores and letting them fall into the crystal container. He corked the sample once he was done, setting it inside his breast pocket with a sigh.
He moved on after that, heading into an opening in the rocks just underneath the spores and letting his eyes wander in awe as he came across a giant cavern on the other side. He made his way across it, marveling at the tracks left in the ground and the cuts in the environment nearby.
These were Ohmu tracks, there was no doubt about that. They were the largest of all the insects that dwelled in the Toxic Jungle, but technically the least aggressive, unless provoked. To think such a huge one would live so close to the jungle’s edge baffled him. Yuno decided to follow the tracks, noticing the still uneven soil and realizing the tracks must still be fresh.
He walked for only a few minutes, letting out a small gasp at what he came across at the other end of the cavern. A towering insect with dozens of uncolored round eyes and a shell-like structure stood before him. It’s sheer size was incredible, he’d never seen such an impecable Ohmu shell before. Yuno was willing to bet this belonged to a healthy female once, given by the strong pincers and wide dorsal structure.
The prince wasted no time climbing onto the massive shell, taking out his sword and stabbing it against its side. He grit his teeth as the blade failed to pierce through the Ohmu’s thick armor, the vibrations running up his arms. He gave a satisfied smile, running his hand across its surface. His people certainly wouldn’t have to worry about finding building materials for a good while.
Yuno then moved to one of its empty eyes, tapping the solid, glass-like cover and wondering what uses it could have. He’d have to take a piece back and study it before he could decide that. The prince took out one of his gunpowder capsules, carefully sprinkling it around the eye’s surface and making sure it covered it completely. Then he took out his gun and opened the loading barrel, setting it down by the powder and pulling the trigger.
The heat made the powder go off, and Yuno bat the smoke away with his hand, putting away his gun and trading it for his sword. He began to steadily dig it into the shell’s burned area, watching the armor give away slowly until he was securely able to pull off the shell.
Yuno lifted it above his head, surprised by how light it was. The people would love this, he was sure Klaus and the others could find a way to make use of it. This was an amazing find. He had to get back to the town and let them know so they could begin gathering parts tomorrow.
He carefully put his things away, setting the eye down and stopping midway when a faint sound made it to his ears. He stood to attention, closing his eyes and listening to it as best as he could. The sound came again, and this time there was no mistaking its source, gunshots.
Just his luck, whatever fool was setting off a gun in the middle of the Toxic Jungle was surely suicidal. He couldn’t just leave them be however, if they headed for the village whatever insect was attacking them would hurt his people as well.
Yuno grabbed the shell and jumped off the Ohmu, running as fast as he could through the passages he’d gone through to find his glider once more. He accidentally stepped on a Lanma when he jumped off a rocky edge, yet the insect gave him no mind as he ran past with a muttered apology.
He found his glider soon enough, setting the shell down by the clearing’s edge and taking off. He flew out of the trees and into the arid desert, looking out above the tree line to try and catch glimpse of the chaos. The gunshots were louder now, but that sound was quickly covered up by the sound of trampling footsteps.
Yuno gasped when he watched a good chunk of trees suddenly burst out, sending wood and spores flying everywhere. The prince pulled back to avoid it, watching as a lone man riding on two familiar Horseclaws ran from an Ohmu. Just what in the hell...?
There was no time to ponder the why right now. Yuno needed to get that guy to safety and that Ohmu back in the jungle before it got too close to town. The prince dove low, coming in to fly next to the masked man.
“Get past the dune just up ahead! I’ll lure it away from you!”
The man looked up at him and nodded, “Alright!” He answered, spurring his mounts forward as Yuno took off gain.
He needed to get to that Ohmu, hopefully his usual method worked. Yuno turned his glider swiftly, pulling it so he matched the giant insect’s pace right next to its eye.
“Pull back! You can’t be out here! You’ll die!” Yuno tried, raising his voice as loud as he could, but the creature didn’t react.
Just talking wouldn’t work this time it seemed, the thing’s eyes were glowing red with rage. He needed to snap the insect out of it before he hoped to ever make progress.
Yuno leaned forward and flew right in front of the Ohmu’s face, tapping one of his glider’s buttons and letting nearly a dozen stun grenades go off right by the insect’s eyes.
The prince watched the rider turn back upon the Ohmu’s pause, but Yuno paid him little mind as he pulled out his insect charm and put it against the wind, letting the breeze blow past it to trigger the whistle insects liked so much.
The Ohmu’s eyes no longer grew red, it’s grey eyes lit up a calm blue, and Yuno was glad he was finally calm enough to listen.
“Go back to the jungle, you’re not safe out here!” He spoke to it, watching as the Ohmu seemed to take in his words before it began to turn its body a few seconds later.
Yuno kept the charm going for a few more seconds, watching the insect make his way back into the jungle through the same opening it had made minutes prior. Only when the creature was finally inside did he let the sound up, storing the charm away as he made his way to greet the idiot he saved.
Once he landed Yuno quickly took off his mask and goggles, watching the man remove his own mask before coming to greet him.
“I thought you’d be smart enough to know not to set off a gun inside the jungle, Vangeance.” Yuno smiled.
The man chuckled, nodding his head and offering his arm for Yuno to shake. The prince took it, glad to see his mentor safe and sound.
“I didn’t know you were coming, you should’ve sent a letter. I would’ve escorted you.” Yuno offered, watching as Vangeance’s carriage birds came over to say hello as well.
Yuno reached over to pet their heads, letting them cuddle up to him and sighing when one of them nibbled his clothes. He pushed them away lightly, rolling his eyes when they put up resistance.
“Perhaps I should have said something. Being accompanied by you would’ve saved me all that trouble for sure.” Vangeance laughed at Yuno’s expense, looking down when a small hiss came from his bag.
“What do you have there?” Yuno asked, finally getting the two Horseclaws away from him.
“Ah, this little thing here is the reason I got into trouble with that Ohmu.” Vangeance opened the bag and they both watched as a small fox-squirrel came out, hissing and swiping at them. “I mistook her cry for a baby’s and tried to rescue her from the Ohmu, but I ended up having to use my gun to get away.”
Yuno hummed, reaching out to the small animal and letting it run up his arm. It ran quickly, towards his shoulder and down his other arm, looking at both men anxiously.
“Be careful, even the little ones are quite feisty,” Vangeance warned, Yuno nodded.
The prince took off his glove, raising his hand to let the small animal sniff it. Instead however the fox opened its jaw and dug its fangs into his finger, surprising Yuno with the amount of force carried in such a small bite. Still he didn’t move, letting the animal dig its fangs into him as it growled.
“It’s ok.” He spoke softly, “I know you’re scared, but you’re ok.”
Vangeance watched silently, wondering in silence just how strong the prince’s abilities were. He had been shocked to see him turn an Ohmu around with nothing but stun grenades and an insect charmer. It was something he’d never seen before.
And still Yuno managed to surprise him, because only a few seconds after muttering those calm words the small fox ceased its growling, pulling its teeth away before shamefully licking the wound on the boy’s finger.
“My my, you never cease to amaze me with that power of yours.” Vangeance complimented.
“I don’t have any special powers.” Yuno looked up from where he was petting his new fox friend. “It’s just research.”
“Right.” Vangeance agreed, though he didn’t truly believe that. “Would you like to keep her?”
Yuno blinked, smiling at the fox as it ran around his shoulders again and nuzzled up to his face.
“If you don’t mind.”
“By all means.”
“Thank you.” Yuno offered his palm to the fox, who hopped onto it, “I think I’ll name her Bell.”
Yuno opened a few of his shirt buttons, letting Bell jump inside before buttoning them back up, he didn’t want her falling off while he flew back to town.
“We should get going though, everyone will be very happy to see you back.”
Vangeance nodded, watching the prince grab his glider before turning to him once more.
“Oh, before we go, there’s something I’d like for you to carry back for me.”
“What is it?”
“An Ohmu eye.”
Vangeance almost lost his footing on the sand beneath him.

Sleeping Beauty (Yunoasu ver.)
“YUNO!”
Everyone in the room turned towards the door, which had been nearly torn from its hinges when Asta burst in. The ash haired boy ran into the room, moving past the many Golden Dawn members to get to his best friend. Most of them scoffed, but let the boy through, knowing their captain had called for him. When Asta broke through the small crowd he came face to face with his rival laying on a bed, unmoving, with Mimosa and many other healers tending to him.
“What happened? Is he going to be ok Mimosa?!” Asta ran up towards the bed, looking at the girl in question before looking down at Yuno.
“I-I don’t know.” Mimosa’s expression didn’t help calm Asta’s fears, “He’s not injured or anything but he won’t wake up no matter what we do.”
“Is it a spell?”
The question drew everyone’s attention towards the two new people in the room. The captains of both the Golden Dawn and the Black Bulls stood behind Asta, looking at the sleeping knight.
“C-Captain Yami! Captain Vengeance!” All the knights in the room saluted, but when the masked captain raised a placating hand they all relaxed.
“We don’t know, it’s very possible.” Mimosa answered, hands aglow with green healing light.
“Then that means I can wake him up right? With my sword?” Asta turned to both captains, hopeful.
Vengeance nodded, a calm smile on his face. “That’s right; if a spell is the cause of this then I believe freeing him from it should be no difficult task for you.”
Asta grinned, “Alright!” The ashen blond reached for his grimoire, pulling out the anti-magic sword from its pages and holding it up. “Time to wake up sleepyhead!”
Everyone stood to attention as Asta, with surprising gentleness, lowered his sword and poked the blunt hilt against the side of Yuno’s head. They all waited, searching for any reaction from the raven haired boy, but nothing.
“W-What? But Asta’s sword dispels any type of magic right?” Mimosa asked, looking at Asta and the captains.
Yami hummed, crossing his arms. He and Vengeance shared a look, unsure of what to do next. “Tell us how this happened. One of you knows right?”
Klaus stepped up then, “Allow me to explain.” He adjusted his glasses.
“My juniors and I went on a mission just on the outskirts of the capital. We were tasked with dealing with a group of bandits that had stolen a very precious magical item. As you can expect we dealt with them easily enough, the battle lasted less than 10 minutes. However when Yuno went to retrieve the magic item we discovered that a magic trap was placed on it, but it was too late. As soon as Yuno touched the item he fell into this deep sleep, he hasn’t woken since.”
Asta turned towards the captains once more, waiting for them to tell them the reason and hopefully the solution. Yami hummed and shrugged, turning towards Vangeance.
“I got nothing. You?”
The Golden Dawn captain nodded, “I have a theory, but I’m not sure how true it could be.” The man stepped closer to the bed, his hand hovering over Yuno’s head as magic engulfed it.
“There are certain curses that have existed for centuries upon centuries, used by civilizations long gone that used mana in a very different way that we do today.” The captain’s hand lowered to hover over Yuno’s heart. “As you can imagine these curses hold properties that our modern day spells lack, which is why your sword can’t undo them. If I am correct then this spell is as ancient as magic itself, so further research on how to lift it should be made.”
Asta blinked at the explanation, hating how everyone seemed to understand what was going on expect him. He swallowed, “Does... does that mean we don’t know how to wake him up?”
Captain Vangeance turned to him, his calm smile replaced with a frown, “We don’t. I’m afraid there’s nothing we can do at the moment.”
“N-No way...” Asta turned towards Yuno, who’s chest fell and rose steadily. He watched his face, remembering their promise and their time together.
“No way it’s gonna end like this!” Asta suddenly stood up, surprising everyone, “I’m gonna find a way to free you Yuno, you hear me?! So sleep while you can dumbass!”
Mimosa and the captains, as well as Klaus, smiled at the display. They all knew Asta wasn’t one to give up, and that determination only became stronger when it came to Yuno.
“Alright! So where do we start looking for answers captain?” Asta asked the masked man.
“I believe our research should start in the royal library, if there is an answer it should be recorded there.”
Asta almost withered at the mentions of reading and books, but he kept himself together. This was for Yuno! He couldn’t back down cuz of a little reading! He could do this!
“Ok! Then let’s go! You coming Mimosa?!” Asta asked the girl, who gasped and smiled, running out of the room after him.
“Hey you two! Don’t run in the castle!” Klaus called out, dashing after the pair.
Yami gave a hearty laugh, patting Vangeance on the back, “Seems our squads are really getting along huh?!”
“It would seem so.” Vangeance smiled as well, turning to Yuno once more.
They needed to find a way to wake him up soon, because if his suspicions were correct then... no, he couldn’t think like that. They would save him.

Mafia AU (Xanlow ver.)
Inigo was beyond worried. Xander was late and he wasn’t answering any of Inigo’s calls. He’d tried calling Peri and Corrin too, but nothing. Something was wrong, very very wrong. He grabbed his phone again and dialed Ryoma’s number, somehow knowing none of Xander’s siblings would pick up the phone either.
“Hello, Inigo? Is everything alright?” Came Ryoma’s gentle voice, Inigo gave a small smile.
“Yes im fine. I’m sorry to call at such an hour but have you heard from Xander? I haven heard from him since he went fishing this morning.”
Ryoma caught on instantly. Fishing was the simple code they used when talking about their less that pleasant duties. They mostly used it as not to worry the kids, but it was also to keep any prying ears from knowing what they were up to.
“No, I haven’t heard from him, but Corrin was going with him today so I’ll try contacting them.”
“I already did. No answer.” Silence hung on the other line. Inigo was definitely worried, this job was supposed to be simple, what could have gone wrong.
That’s when he heard it, a loud crash coming from the entrance. Inigo gasped and turned, seeing a group of armed men at his door.
“Inigo?! What’s wrong?!” Ryoma’s voice called out through the phone, but Inigo didn’t have time to answer.
He quickly jumped behind the wall next to him, listening to their guns go off and watching the bullets land where he had stood a second ago. Damn it! How had they gotten past the guards outside?!
“You idiots! Don’t shoot, we need all three of them alive!”
Those words sprung him into action. He needed to get Soleil and Siegbert to safety! Inigo ran to the table in the hallway, pushing the button inside the drawer and watching as another drawer opened up under it. He grabbed the gun inside, running up the stairs afterwards and punching a few numbers on the security panel on the top.
The alarm blared, and he listened the men swirl into a panic before he ran off down the hall. At once Soleil and Siegbert’s rooms opened, and both his children came out with wide panicked eyes.
“Dad what’s going on?! I’m scared!” Soleil asked, letting Siegbert hold onto her hand as he tried not to sob.
“Some bad men are here, so we need to go.” Inigo pocketed his gun and picked up both of them, running down the hall to their room which he knew had the emergency exit.
“There they are!”
Inigo cursed and kicked the door to his room open, but gasped when he saw some men were already inside, the doors to the balcony blown open. He grit his teeth, putting his children down and slowly reaching for his weapon.
A hand caught his arm before he could reach it however, and his kids cried as one of the men threw Inigo against the opposite wall. He cursed, looking up to see some men he didn’t recognize holding his children captive, the rest pointing their guns at him.
“I wouldn’t do anything funny if I were you, unless you want us to kill the brats.” The man at the center spoke up, his white hair a mess.
To prove his point one of the men holding onto Siegbert pointed the barrel of his gun to his head, and at once Inigo raised his arms in surrender.
“You can have me if you want, but let my children go.” Inigo bargained, glaring at the leader.
The man grinned and shook his head, “How bold, thinking you’re in any position to demand anything from us!”
Inigo cried out when the other brought his foot down on him, sending him falling on his side. He coughed, trying to regain the breath that had been knocked out of him.
“Oh but don’t worry, the boss said to keep you all alive.” The guy leaned down to grab a hold of Inigo’s chin, “Besides, I wouldn’t want to ruin a face as pretty as yours.”
Inigo glared, watching his attacker chuckle as his hand traveled down to his neck. That’s when Inigo saw it, the gun was on his hip, if the other got any closer he could get it and turn the tides.
“H-Hey...” he played along, “b-be gentle I-“ he swallowed.
The man chuckled “Oh don’t worry, I’ll be real gentle.” And he leaned closer.
There! Inigo reached over and grabbed the man’s gun, pointing it at his head and kicking the other down so he stood on top of him. He knew they needed them alive, they wouldn’t shoot his children without ordered. He was going to take advantage of that.
“Let my kids go or I shoot him!” Inigo warned, undoing the safety and glaring at the group.
Everyone was quiet for a second, the rest of the men clearly didn’t know what to do.
“Tell your men to let them go or else.”
He stared down at the leader, watching him nod. At once the men let go of Siegbert and Soleil and both of them ran towards him, hiding behind their father and trying not to cry.
Good. Now that Soleil and Siegbert weren’t in immediate danger he could think a lot more clearly now. Inside the room there were only four men, only three of them armed. The one under him wasn’t a threat, and he was fast enough to get out three shots before the ones outside could react.
But what then? It wasn’t like he could take out all these men with a single pistol, he needed a better plan. For now however his children were a priority.
“Siegbert, Soleil. Get under the bed and don’t look outside, got it?”
“O-Ok.”
Inigo listened to the rustle of sheets as his children went under the relative safety of the bed. That was one worry out of the way, he didn’t want his kids to see him like this.
“Now then...”
He didn’t even finish that sentence before he raised his gun and shot the three men down, listening to them gasp before falling to the ground. The one under him cursed and punched him, but Inigo shot him too the moment he recovered.
Four down.
Inigo heard footsteps coming up the stairs, drawn in by the gunshots. He quickly grabbed another one of the men’s pistols and kicked the door closed, not that it would do much against all those men and their weapons.
“Soleil! Grab Siegbert and get to the emergency exit inside the closet! Hurry!”
“O-Ok!”
Inigo was so glad Soleil and Siegbert were such obedient children, because this situation would be so much more stressful if they were as stubborn as he had been at that age. He watched them both hurry to the door at the other end of the room, and Soleil turned to him before she went inside.
“What’s about you daddy?”
Inigo smiled, “Don’t worry about me sweetie, I’m just waiting for your father to get back. Now go, and don’t leave the bunker unless me or your father come to pick you up ok?”
Soleil nodded, her little hands shaking, but then closed the door. Inigo felt like he could breathe again, but that didn’t last long at all, since the next second someone shot down the lock on the door. Inigo raised his guns and aimed them at the incoming enemies, shooting any that got inside.
“Stop going in! He’s armed!”
Indeed he was. Armed and trained. If they thought the husband of the world’s biggest mafia boss was a pushover then they were in for a surprise. Inigo had been a part of his own crime syndicate, and the tattoo on his hip was a clear mark of that. He wasn’t going down without a fight.
Inigo panted as the men stopped coming in, eyes narrowing. They were planning something surely, he needed to be careful.
The next second something rolled in through the entryway, and Inigo backed away too late as a bright look overtook the room. Stun grenade, damn, he couldn’t see anything, let alone hear.
Inigo staggered on his feet and blinked the spots in his vision away, but it was useless. A gunshot rang out, and Inigo gasped as pain overtook his shoulder. They got him, damn it!
The gun in his right hand fell to the floor, and Inigo shot blindly at the entrance, trying to keep the enemy away. No luck, next thing he knew he was on the floor, the weight of someone on top of him as well as others holding his limbs down clear as day. This was it, he’d be captured for sure, but at least they wouldn’t take his children. Please Naga let them be safe.
