Idk why, but I like the idea of the found family au slowly merging with the Zam being Zim's bio dad au. Like, Zam finds out Zim got adopted by a human family and feels like he shouldn't interfere with his life by trying to be his dad again, but Zim still wants him to be his dad. It ends with either Membrane's parents adopting him and Zim being just cousins with Dib and Gaz and Membrane being his uncle. OR, an even better ending, Zam marries Membrane and Zim gets to have both as his dads

I think a few years ago when I started the zam au, it was in my mind that i could merge it, but that seemed too much and not really worked with the things I planned for both

I feel the stories work better separately.

But l feel you, it's tempting to put the two science dad into the same setting lol.
