Soo I've started reading fanfics again and of course I'm re-reading all my favourite (and dying because I'd like to have a relationship at least half as nice pspspspspspsp sapphics in my area) ones but I'd like to have some suggestions for some new ones because I've been out of the loop for a looong time cause life. So I mostly read Sylvaina and Valadrin stuff! But I often read something else if it's good. Open to a lot of Sapphic wow ships. Oh also if it's by Redisaid or Uninspiredpoet, I've read it already LMAO! Love these bean's writting!

I love having 4 seasons

Today it snowed and it made me so happy and I played in the snow and it was wonderful

When spring comes the sun will peak out and the flowers will bloom and it will be magical

Then it'll be summer and I'll have a blast swimming in the sun

And autumn will come and all the colors and the smells of the leafs will bring a smile to my face

Nature is wonderful and I love my 4 seasons.

So as november rolls it's starting to get cold (ish) here and like every year it has started a debate among my friends: what temperature is actually "cold".

For context, we have all been born and raised in Canada, to be more precise the province of Quebec (close to the biggest cities). The debate is between 0 and -30 usually.

Friendly reminder that any indie company that would have a random huge success (which is what we usually HOPE would happen) would instantly get obliterated by this! Small companies do not make much from the sales considering all the fees they already encounter (and if you have a publisher some deals are really rough!). Say goodbye to games with low prices cause that hits them even more! Think about games like among us that have free versions on mobile. That would KILL YOU. Oh you wanted to make your game more accessible? Fuck you I guess. Oh, also some OS gives you a new download ID every time (from what I've heard), so every re-install could count! Someone is meming and installing/desinstalling like a gremlin with a bot? Fuck you I guess!

Edit from a friend making a good point: GAME PASS COULD OBLITERATE COMPANIES. YOU ARE NOT PAID BY THE DOWNLOAD. YOU ARE PAID A FLAT AMOUNT. BUT YOU WOULD STILL OWE MONEY BY THE DOWNLOAD WITH HOW IT CURRENTLY IS. THIS WOULD WRECK COMPANIES. It is unlikely game pass would shoulder the cost. You now want your game to stay unknown forever.

Imagine this scenario ; you made a small game on Unity because it's a good engine you know how to use, you thought "I'm a small company, I'll be fine I won't make enough sales to get run into the ground by the new rule". Then. Boom. A famous youtuber plays your game, your sales explode, everyone has fun with it. Your game gets known, best thing that could happen Right? Wrong. You suddenly owe a shit ton of money that you might not even have. Even if you have enough, the budget you have to actually live and pay your crew just got obliterated. Your success harmed you more than it helped. Small studios need that money to SURVIVE. Sure, if you do make an ABSURD amount of sales (like the 300m of among us) you should be okay! You'll have plenty left. But it's also a lot cut from the budget for your next game! Basically, your game needs to sell less than a million or an ABSURD amount. Never just close to the million. And you're already paying licences PER EMPLOYEE.

Indie studios being successful should be celebrated. Success should not punish you. Studios shouldn't have to balance to try to be "successful but not too much".

If this thing pisses you off, please be vocal about it. Make Unity realise how much they will LOSE. PULL A DND OGL ON THEM. You don't need to be in the industry to voice your opinion!

They want up to TWENTY CENTS per game install, once you reach a certain number of installs.

Just imagine, 100 people install your game and you suddenly owe Unity 20 fucking dollars. Chances are, you haven't even made that much in profits from 100 sales.

It's time for unity to fucking die. How fucking dare they demand royalties from game devs for an engine THAT ISN'T EVEN FREE?

I'm done! The last fights literally took me like fucking 5h because I am BAD at this game (I'm actually idk like medium, it's dnd, I can play it without struggling too much (contrary to DOS2) because I know 5e very well after dm and playing in it a lot. Literally was screaming on the very last fight god damn. Warning light spoils ahead, only my impressions/emotions without any actual info on what caused it exactly. I am not responsible is someone puts 2 and 2 together though. I'll give more detailed thoughts when more than like 2% of players will have finished the game. I like played 80h in an indecent amount of time.

Last warning

Aight. Some of the ending scenes absolutely wrecked me! I had a good ending and that felt fucking GREAT, I like seeing people happy. Just that nearly made me cry. Some stuff happened that made me cry and I'm still like nearly crying every time I think about it.

Here I'll adress a bit how I feel about the ending, vaguely still but a bit more detailed in my impressions. Still trying not to spoil but yknow be warned.

Unfortunately the ending is a bit rushed though, especially on the companion standpoint. I was a bit confused at my last romance scene but hey apparently some people have a bug and don't get it so at least I DID get it !! Wrapping up endings well in a game like this is challenging though, but it would be my only complaint. I would of like a bit *more* ending! The rest of the story with the companions is SO GOOD. I'll have no worries imagining the life of my bean and Shadowheart, I just would of liked to see a bit more of it hehehe.

I want to play again after a break, I have multiple ideas of characters to try other paths and all. It'll be hard not smooshing shadowheart tho because I really love her and I want to hug her so bad. Romancing Karlach will help. oh also behold the achievement I have no idea how I managed but that is the pride and joy of my playthrough because I tried very hard to succeed in this nut didn't think I'd manage or get an achievement! (secret achievement)
