Despite the many different programs EMH has downloaded in order to become more sociable, he is socially awkward.  It is why he still sometimes defaults to the original greeting programmed into him (”What is the nature of your medical emergency?”).  He tends to get on better with other holograms, mostly because they’re programmed to ignore social blunders, among other things.

“Depends on if they ask me first. I wouldn’t mind actually having a full head of hair, but when they just assume I want things, it gets irksome.  How would you feel if you woke up and someone had drastically changed your body?
But I do kind of want to try everything- bald, buzzcut, short, long enough for a pony-tail, dyed- the whole nine yards.”

Happy Halloween
So um, Em? I know you don’t eat because hologram but… hear me out …. Holographic lollypop - programmed to recall memories of your other doctors and their favorite treats
Happy Halloween :D
“That’s so thoughtful.  And creative.  Thank you.  Perhaps bourbon can be next- mostly because McCoy has some very fond memories of his Captain and himself with it...though I can’t see Captain Janeway doing bourbon.”

You now only respond to the name m&m
“How about no?”

Can I ask a question about the future m&m?
“I’m a doctor, not a fortune teller.  And you can call me Dr. M&M if you really must use that insipid nickname.”

Has anyone ever told you to just call yourself John? As in John Doe?
“John Doe is traditionally used for humans whose identity has not yet been recovered.  Since I’m not human and there’s no name for me to ‘recover,’ using John Doe seems...unreasonable.  And I don’t really feel like a John.”

Can I ask a questiin about a patients case if its nothing personal... but more about you in that case? That doesn't violate privacy right
“You’re welcome to ask your question, I may or may not answer.”

Doctor, don't you ever get sick of having to deal with organics day in and day out? If I were in your position....we let's just say I wouldn't need a deleted ethics subroutine to turn on them.
“Oh, it can be wearisome when they don’t listen but I do happen to like them.  They’ve grown on me, especially after so much time spent together.  And I have an advantage over most holograms, androids, and non-organics when it comes to organics- I have the memories of some of them.  There’s a organic touch about me, if you will.”  He explained.  “I’d like to imagine that even without my ethics subroutine I wouldn’t chose to turn on them.”

"Doctor," she says pointedly, "while I greatly appreciate your concern, there are a dozen crewman in here and only one of you. If you absolutely insist, I can come by later for a checkup once all of my crew are taken care of. I'll be on the bridge if there are any issues with that." Janeway gives a curt nod and starts towards the door.
“And everyone is stabilized and being looked afterwards,” he returned just as pointedly, grabbing her arm.  “So you can sit down.  Besides, Kes is helping me.  So are you going to let me do y job?”  There wasn’t exactly a pressing emergency that she needed to be on the bridge so he was just doing his duty.

"Listen. I'm fine," the captain dismissed the tricorder with a wave. "These are all cuts and scraps that will heal with time. NOT a regenerator that others need." After the mission, she'd come in to check on the crewmen that were injured, only to be stopped by the doctor. Her injuries may have been more substantial than she admitted, but she was more worried about her injured crew. "There are plenty here that require your attention more. Now if you'll excuse me."
The EMH harrumphed.  “You’re fine?”  He asked, stubbornly running his tricorder over her anyways.  “Of the two of us, which one is programmed with the knowledge of every Federation doctor?  That’d be me.  As such, only I can say when you’re fine.”  Looks at the readings and sighs.  “And you are not fine.  Sit down on the biobed or do I need to call Commander Chakotay in to make you behave?”

I'm officially, in front of all the crew, dubbing you Dr. Em.
“Good luck getting them to use it.”  Waves medical tricorder over them, humming.  “We’ve got some very willful members of the crew, as I’m sure you’ve noticed.  Most of them just call me ‘Doctor.’ “  Looks over the results with a grin.  “Looks like you’re in good health, my dear.”

Star Trek Roleplayers Directory
Several of these have been going around, but none of them seem to be updated regularly anymore, so here is a new one. It includes filters for sorting so it’s easier to find people. However, in order to make this directory work as intended, I’ll need your help in getting information.
The directory is HERE. If you follow this blog, you can also get updates when new people are added.
Who can be added?
canon Star Trek characters
Star Trek OCs
fandomless OCs with a Star Trek verse
OCs from other fandoms with a Star Trek AU verse
To be added to the directory:
Reblog this post!
Either add a comment or put in the tags:
your character’s name
whether they are canon, canon divergent, or OC
what series they are from
Original and Reboot are considered separate; tell me if you write both or only one
OCs – if you have no specific series, put what series you primarily want to interact with (can be multiple)
Multimuse blogs! This will be set up by character, so if you want to be on the list, I’ll need this information for every Star Trek muse you write, please. (If you have too many to reasonably add in a single comment, feel free to reblog the post and message me instead.)
Please spread this around so we can help people in this roleplay fandom find each other!

As a hologram is your image set or flexible?
“It is somewhat flexible.  But I don’t really bother changing it much.  Sometimes the clothes, if I want to interact with the holodeck or something, but that’s about it.”  He didn’t really see the point.  He had gotten used to this appearance.

Though his favorite type of music is opera (particularly Spanish and French), the Doctor is well versed in many types of music.  If a patient has a favorite, he may sing or hum it to calm them down during treatment.
