I’m sorry if the wording is a bit off, I try my best but so grammar has never been my strong point

Let me preface this by saying I am not trying to start an argument or anything. You are perfectly free to dislike Yaribu, especially if it’s triggering to you in anyway. We as fans of the series know that the manga does have problematic themes and is definitely not for everyone, and we do not support said themes in real life. If we’re going in that route, please keep it civil.

I honestly hate seeing Yarichin antis use terms like R@pe and CP so loosely. I have been raped 2 times back when I was 13 by the same person in only 2 months time. I have been sent actual, real life CP by sick, twisted trolls. And don’t think that shit can’t be traumatizing if it didn’t happen to you physically. These experiences have left me hyper sexual and have given me anxiety and have (forgive me I’m trying to be as civil as possible) random sexual thoughts in very awkward, unfitting and irreverent environments. I was ashamed with all these things and have felt so lost, I still do feel lost...

But YBC made me feel so much better whenever those thoughts came to mind. Not only did I love the characters, but I was able to relate with each one of them in some way, especially Shikatani and Yuri. Yaribu became a coping mechanism for me, it made me feel so happy and forget about all my experiences.

So, so many times, I have seen Yaribu antis invalidate me and others as actual victims of cp and r@pe just to prove their point, when most of the times, the points they’re make are far from true. Some have told me I was lying, and that made me pissed, but what really made me mad was when this one anti (from a past ybc discord server, ofc) told me that I was faking being a victim for fetish purposes... WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU. Why would someone lie about that? Why would you fall so low that you would have to say such things to the very people you’re supposed to be ‘fighting for’... WE NEED THERAPY??? NO NO MOTHERFUCKER YOU NEED THERAPY

I am not trying to speak for all victims of CP or Rape, but just know that a handful of victims have come forth saying that Yaribu is not CP. And while I agree that the whole non con aspect of the series, the whole club rule and all, was wrong, at least nobody actually gets raped. If I remember correctly there is only one rape scene in the manga and it was not treated as a sexual thing, it was not ‘romanticizing’ rape.

(Saying this as a gay guy) No, ybc is not a good mlm representation, but (as I’ve said before) Yaoi is not meant to give a good mlm representation. Not to mention that ybc is satire and was made as a joke. Yes there are some people that watch ybc for the sex, and frankly I don’t care, do what you please, but those people do not represent the fan base. If you’re watching Yaoi and gay stuff for the boyxboy dickxdick sex stuff, then fine, but keep it to yourself and don’t push it onto others, ESPECIALLY GAY MEN, because that can be hurtful to us and make us feel invalidated.

Yaribu antis care soo, so much about r@pe, cp and fetishization, but when people who have actually gone through said things come forth and give their thoughts, they completely disregard us and threaten us.

To civil people who dislike Yaribu, but are open to civil, meaningful conversations, and give points about why the series is actually problematic, those are the people we want the ‘antis’ to be. I’ll say again that you’re free to dislike Yaribu if it’s triggering and brings back past trauma to you, but if you are saying horrible things to Yaribu fans, just know that some of us could have gone through what you have gone through, please think about this. And if you haven’t gone through said things and are saying this to victims, I’d like you to take a hard look at what you’re doing.

Once again, nobody (at least I hope not) in the ybc fandom is trying to make you like the series, we’re not brainwashed, we’re not p3dophiles, we’re not r@pe apologists, we’re not any of those things, so please stop making us out to be said things. We’re simply trying to enjoy this manga.
