I can’t stop appreciating little things about Chop Top.  The wig, the glasses, the way he says “Music is my life” with a stiff peace sign, the weird habits that I probably relate to a bit too much (but please don’t read into that)... I want to list even more things but it’s the middle of the night and I’m having trouble verbalizing every thought.

I just watched the DVD of Celtic Thunder Live & Unplugged at Sullivan Hall and it was beautiful

And I just have to say Keith was a mood the entire time, especially when he said “Ba-dum-tss!” after his own joke and shouted “KEY CHANGE!” during the key change in “Ireland’s Call”

“Someday, Brendon, you’re gonna be with a woman or a man who likes you just for you.”

So Brendon’s mom says that to him in the third episode of Home Movies, and I know I’m making a mountain out of a molehill, but I honestly love how she adds the words “or a man”.  Like, it’s said in passing and immediately afterward Brendon makes a joke out of it, but I still feel like that was lowkey a progressive comment to be making in that context in 1999, seeing as the show and its contemporaries aren’t always all that sensitive about being non-straight.

Given how much of Home Movies was improvised, I feel very confident that Paula Poundstone came up with that line on the fly, and I applaud her for it.
