4/13 was yesterday, so have a Homestuck quote in which Rumpelstiltskin absolutely roasts Sparrow. I imagine the first panel being a video Rump is showing Marian as proof that Sparrow isn't paying as much attention to his studies as he's been telling his mother he is.

HAPPY 50TH COMIC!!!! <3
The tale that the Charming parents hail from is unknown, but I do recall seeing something about their tale involving an ogre. Since it's obviously not Puss in Boots, the most likely candidate for their tale in my opinion is The Bee and the Orange Tree, a somewhat obscure late 17th century French fairytale by Madame d'Aulnoy featuring a prince rescuing a princess from her ogre foster parents. I decided to headcanon this as the tale of the Charming parents, with the father being Prince Aime and the mother being Princess Aimee and Darling being expected to inherit her mother's role.
Also, I love Maddie silently judging you in the last panel. Maddie knows what you did last night...

We start off our third year with, as is tradition, another quote involving Mira Shards! And her expression in the last panel is perfect for the job. Darling has her work cut out for her here.

Year 2 of “Ever After High Says What?” in review
Today marks the last day of the second year this blog’s been active! Let’s review this blog’s stats before we go:
The total number of words spoken in Year 2 was 748. The most common word spoken was “you”, which appeared 29 times.
The character with the most lines (lines being all words, including beats between words, sound effects, & emoticons) was C. A. "Charlie" Cupid, who had a total of 65 lines. The character with the fewest lines (excluding non-speaking appearances) was Ramona Badwolf, who only had 1.
The character with the most appearances in Year 2 (based on how many comics they were tagged in) was Maddie Hatter, who appeared in 8 comics out of 24 total. 6 of these appearances were speaking appearances, tying her with Raven for the character with the most speaking appearances in Year 2.
The comic with the most lines was Comic 27 with 57 lines. The comic with the fewest lines was Comic 7 with 10 lines.
The top 5 comics of Year 2 by notes ATOW were Comic 31 with 144 notes, Comic 35 with 129 notes, Comic 28 with 96 notes, Comic 40 with 52 notes, and a tie between Comic 27 and Comic 32 with 48 notes each.
The bottom 5 comics of Year 2 by notes ATOW were Comic 45 with 5 notes, Comic 46 with 12 notes, Comic 30 with 13 notes, Comic 43 with 15 notes, and Comic 37 with 16 notes. Interestingly, there are no ties in the note counts of the bottom-ranked comics ATOW, and Comic 45 is the only comic with a single-digit note count as of 3/13/2024.
The comic with the greatest absolute increase in notes since last year was Comic 11 with 385 new notes since last year's tally, making it still the most-viewed comic on the blog by far with 1089 notes ATOW. The comic with the greatest per capita increase in notes since last year was Comic 23, whose note count increased by 271.43% from the previous tally to 19 notes ATOW.
The fandom most often referenced was the Dreamworks Dragons TV series with 3 comics.
As an interesting bit of trivia, the first comic that did not introduce a new speaking character was Comic 27, while Comic 29 was the first comic that did not introduce any new character at all.
Tomorrow we start Year 3!

In my opinion one of the most underrated straight ships in EAH is Dexter/Holly. They're both major nerds and I think they would enjoy sharing obscure science trivia with each other. Lacking a good rear view of a Mirrorphone I had to make do with a random tablet. (Yes, this isn't the original quote, but the common misquote is more in-line with how Dexter actually speaks.)
Happy Valentine's Day! Now let's hope Poppy doesn't interrupt these two lovebirds with something snarky...

We kick off 2024 with another sibling banter quote, or cousin quote as the case may be! This time it's Prudence and Charlotte sniping at Ashlynn and Ashlynn going Passlyn-Aggressive & Sasslynn at them in response. It would've been funny if the show had actually gone this route more often.

Badwolf is trying to be a good dad, but as always his daughters just have to rib each other. Ben and Gwen quotes fit these two really well. And who says girls can't be slobs?

The sequel to Chicken Run comes out tomorrow, so this comic was made to commemorate that! And the idea of Baba Yaga's hut having an AI and a PA system was too funny for me to pass up. Raven's face could be a meme, it looks kinda like a chicken in this shot with that hairdo. And I missed this in the episode, but Maddie actually clapped for the hut while it rampaged! Gotta love a chaos gremlin.

One thing that could improve Ever After High immensely is the dragons being able to speak. Originally Dexter was the straight man to Daring here, but Lizzie worked better given that she'd actually been on a ride with Legend in canon.

If this is Maddie on caffeine, then one should never, ever get her drunk. Although some people I know on Tumblr would probably argue that Maddie is already baby.

Happy early Halloween! Fittingly, today's quote is all about fears. While Blondie's expression isn't quite right for the tone of the quote, Hopper's matter-of-fact expression, coupled with Blondie's surprised one, is hilarious, as is Charlie's reaction. Gotta fit that Monster High reference in SOMEWHERE, am I right?
