it never went anywhere but some part of me’s still hurt. i suppose it’s the abruptness of it all, the complete lack of communication is what’s lingering. we’re fine and then radio silence without so much as a farewell. oh well, what’s done is done and the damage can’t be reversed.

Ya know what shout out to butches who wrestle with our butchness because we don’t fit the mold in some way. Butches who aren’t physically strong or naturally caretaking because of physical disability, who need to be cared for, who can’t hold open the door for a femme. Butches with long hair, butches with big hair, butches who express their culture via their hair. Butches who’s masculinity is shaped by their culture, who’s masculinity doesn’t fit the white eurocentric mold. Fat butches, butches with curves viewed as feminine, butches who don’t have skinny, boyish builds. Butches who don’t want to be sexualized, butches on the ace spectrum. Butches who don’t have traditionally masculine interests or mannerisms or whatever. Effeminate butches. Butches who take inspo from gay men. Butches who like the occasional dress or skirt. TRANSFEM BUTCHES!!!!! And any other butches who don’t fit a certain mold!! All butches are good butches and we are all valid.

there's so much out there about butches taking care of their femmes, but what of the butches who want to be taken care of? i want to be the passenger prince, the little spoon when we're sleeping, the one being hand-fed. while there is certainly a degree of wanting to be one providing care and affection to the other, i also want to be on the receiving end of that same being reciprocated. sometimes i wanna be the one being woken up with breakfast in bed, falling asleep in their arms, being catered to.

Bro, I’m not joking, we NEED more butch representation in media. Its not enough to have a skinny woman with short hair, we need like, more diverse butch lesbian content in mass media productions and I don’t know who I have to shake and scream at to get it. Probably 0.01% of queer representation in media are actually butch, and the ones that are are weirdly stereotyped as cops or assholes (somethings butch lesbians have been getting since the dawn of time). Most butches are pretty sweet! That desrves to be reflected
Don’t just demand butch rep. Demand good butch rep.

please for the love of all things holy and sacrilegious CHECK PEOPLES PROFILES BEFORE YOU INTERACT. i've been having an influx of nsfw and mdni accounts interacting with my posts and it's so frustrating. they want their boundaries respected when they won't respect others?
anyways this is the like quarterly post to all my followers that I AM SIXTEEN. if i haven't caught your account yet and blocked you, those with hard nsfw or accounts marked with mdni, please unfollow me. in the kindest way possible, this is not the space for you, there are plenty of other accounts like mine that aren't run by a minor.

emily gwen, the creator of the sunset lesbian flag that we’ve come to commonly use, still continues to live in poverty.
Tumblr media
multi-billion dollar companies have used their design and made profit from it, and yet they have not seen a cent for their creation.
i’ve been friends with emily for years, and i have not once seen them be financially stable the entire time. i’ve seen them homeless, unemployed, starving. right now, they need our help more than ever.
please consider donating to emily’s ko-fi, especially if you’ve used their design to create something and profited from it.

Advice for baby butches, mascs, trans masculine people or just who wants to appear masculine and still take care of themselves-
Accessories and clothing -
Men’s chains, chose thicker ones. Plain white or black t-shirts are your bsf now. Don’t be scared to shop in the men’s section, Flannels are amazing, short sleeve ones are VERY butch, Belts make any outfit more butch. Straight leg jeans can help reduce curves in the hips and ass area
Hair-
Long hair isn’t “not masc” you don’t have to cut it, but if you want a masc cut, if you’re afab, find a picture of a feminine presenting person with the haircut you want, it makes the hairdresser more e likely to do it
Get a good routine in place for your hair, I like the Monday shampoo and Conditioner and the Cantu deep conditioner, although those can feel really feminine, id Recommend the bull dog line if you don’t like that. If you have a textured fringe or shag, spray salt water on your hair. It helps the look, but it can make your hair feel low-key gross, so don’t touch it
Skin-
Very basic skincare routine, contour serums can help you achieve a more masculine face shape, moisturise properly and shape your brows. Remember to cleanse, zinc and salysillic (I can’t spell that sorry) acid are good ingredients to look for.
Personality and behaviour-
Showing chivalry can help people view you as more masculine, as well as just taking up space, but for butches especially, don’t be that dude who’s a full on saviour for the damsel in distress, just show femmes the respect cis men don’t, and maybe carry their bag too. Butchness is about subverting masculinity to make it gentle and nurturing. So avoid agression, sort shit out by talking to people
