Qrowin Week 2021 Day 5 - Mr and Mrs
A/N: Not explicit, but there is some suggestiveness to this :S Also pretty dang late lol
“I’ve had that all my life, and now it’s a part of yours.”
The ring on Winter’s finger felt weird. It was bulky, certainly not the band that most expected out of a relationship. Still, what Qrow said about it was interesting, and it’s not like it was unpleasant either. Stories about rings were often filled with emotion, but this just felt natural, like it was the next step.
She tilted it around in the low light before leaning back against him. “Looks worn out. A bit like you in some places.”
“It looks good on you though,” he kissed her hair, a hand circling around her. “Stands out against all your military gear.”
Just the glove, really. But in the center of it was a red… something. She wasn’t really sure of what it was. Maybe it was cheap plastic, maybe it was actually some gemstone. “Do you have a story behind this ring?”
“Well,” he took a deep breath, “not really. No ancient family heirloom stories here. Metal wasn’t the easiest item to obtain, after all.” He jostled the arm around her, causing Winter to look up at his small smile. “I can make something up for you if you want.”
“You know what, surprise me.”
“Hmm…” he leaned back against the pillows. “Well, there is a rumor that whoever puts on that ring has direct access to my dick, so that means you-”
Groan
“Of course you’d make it about your dick.”
His little rumble from chest was, however, comforting. It was a reminder that the man she rested upon was real, closer than anyone else had ever been allowed to be with her. “I mean, it’s true.”
This time it was her turn to swing back at him. “And what if I lost the ring? Do we lose the ability to unlock your pants? Do you just have to live with just never getting any action ever again?”
“Depends on how good you are at unlocking my pants.” He slipped out from beneath to crawl on top of her. “I hear it’s your specialty.”
Winter put her arms around him. “So, the fabled round three. Maybe I’ll keep the ring for just a bit longer.”
“So I guess this might as well make us a Mr. and Mrs., huh?”
“Just don’t let Weiss know. She’ll be upset you didn’t buy a real ring.”

Jean x Diluc maybe?
Business was better compared to other days - Diluc’s hands were just a tiny bit sore from the mugs and glasses he had to wash over the course of their open hours. Talks of a match drove additional patrons into the establishment, and from there the rest of it was profit. And while he wasn’t disappointed about the income, he found himself on edge.
“Can you believe it? The Acting Grand Master and this Hydro wielder-”
“The Acting Grand Master? Lose? Never have I-”
It was supposed to be a “friendly” match. More of a testing of limits. Push and pull, just enough for the two combatants to learn from the other. But Diluc was privy to more than the average citizen. He put the last cup down and took a deep breath before moving onto the mugs.
He had yet to see the full might of the Fatui Harbinger, but he at least knew his real name - Ajax. And as direct as he was, the way he challenged Jean was less so. Perhaps even he knew that a direct approach would simply be rebuffed.
For whatever reason she accepted. The Honorary Knight would oversee the fight and ensure that no lasting or fatal damage was done. And it was to take place in a field far away from the rest of the Mondstadt’s populace, just out of reach for the daily citizen to make a detour for.
Him included. There would be no easy way for him to get the information directly - all he would get is the second-hand stories from the patrons who would either come to celebrate or wallow in pity at Jean’s outcome.
He was told the Honorary Knight looked like she was going to call the match several minutes in, a pained look on her face. But with no clear victor, she was forced to bide her time. It was, after all, just a friendly contest between onlookers - beautiful artifacts of water, strategic placement of wind, all who were present were entranced.
However, there was one clear outcome in the end. After both fighters dodged the other for long enough, there was one more bout. In the last second, Jean threw her weapon away, the blade digging into the soft grass. A quick duck, another blast of wind, it looked like any other clash where one backed away from the other. But as Childe extended his hands again to recreate his weapons, he was met with nothing. When he looked back at her, the glint of his vision was in her hand and the match was called.
Leave it to her to think of the riskiest option available and take it. It was unusual of her, though.
He set the final mug down harder than he anticipated - just as a set of light knocks hit the door. “We’re an hour past closing, you know. Did you need something?”
“I… was hoping you could make an exception.”
Diluc knew that voice, and in an instant he was at the door,
“Jean.”
She tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, closing her eyes and taking a sharp breath. “Hello Master Diluc.”
Technically she didn’t have to call him by that title. He may have been the owner of the Dawn Winery and the Angel’s Share, but even the common citizen did not refer to him as that. Perhaps it was just a habit. “No one has to call me that anymore, you know.” She moved to one of the stools at the bar, gingerly putting a hand onto it before quickly taking a seat on it. Usually she never took a seat - perhaps today she wanted to be a simple customer after the day’s hubbub.
He took a breath and walked behind the counter to look her in the eyes. “Is there something I can get you?”
“Anything that isn’t water, perhaps,” she looked ready to slump over. “I had enough of it in my little contest.”
Diluc didn’t want to offer alcohol just yet, so instead he went to the far side of the bar. “Will juice be fine, then? Or maybe you would prefer some coffee?”
“... Surprise me.”
After a pause he fetched a glass. “I recently invested in a new type of fruit from a supplier. I’m told its juice has a similar effect to coffee. You might like it.”
When he was all done, he set the pink liquid down just a tiny bit out of her arm’s reach. She stared at it, lips grimaced, but finally she stretched out her arm and leaned forward to bring it close to her. There was a revealing wince, and she just as slowly brought the cup back to her.
He scoffed. “So you have an injury. Tell me you didn’t continue your day without taking care of it properly.”
She took a sip, staring into the liquid. “You know how I use my Vision. It’ll be fine by tomorrow morning.”
“So if you’re not worried about your injury, why are you here?” He shot a look at her. “And why did you accept the match, anyway?”
“He said that if I declined, he would try to challenge you to a duel instead.”
He took a deep breath before huffing, “Did you think I would lose to that buffoon? And why would I even accept in the first place? I have better things to do.”
“Unlike a friendly match, a duel ends when the other can’t proceed anymore.” She downed the rest of her drink. “Besides, I haven’t forgotten where he is from, even if he seems to be friends with the Honorary Knight. It’s better to keep your status… veiled. Everyone knows I’m the Acting Grand Master. Even if I were to lose, nothing terrible would come from it. Not everyone else knows about you, though, and neither do they need to.”
So she wanted to protect him, then. “I don’t know if I should be thankful or call you a fool.”
She put the glass back down on the counter. “I can’t protect Mondstadt on my own. And the longer I sit in my office, the more and more I realize that I am simply denying the truth.” She looked him in the eyes. “I need you, whether it’s in an official capacity or otherwise.”
“And are the Knights of Favonius not enough?”
“They are all irreplaceable and play a role in defending Mondstadt. You more so than the others, whether you believe it or not.”
“I’m not a knight anymore, you know.”
She stood up from her seat, no longer hiding the effects of her injury. If Diluc looked more closely than he would have liked, it appeared as though she was sporting a dark bruise across one side of her ribs. Maybe Childe got the hit when she was trying to take his Vision. “I know, but I’ve always felt that under certain circumstances you wouldn’t be much different from one. All you lack is your old uniform, but because of that you can do things I can’t.”
Diluc’s eyes narrowed. “Is that all you came here to tell me, then? That I’m no different than one of your knights?”
“No,” she firmly looked him in the eye again. “I came to tell you that we can’t continue protecting Mondstadt separately. We owe a great deal to the Honorary Knight, but she’s walking a dangerous path. I don’t think it’s her intention to harm Mondstadt, but we need to be ready. You and I want the same thing - we should start being allies instead of being at arm’s length with each other.”
She didn’t have to tell him that for him to know. “Isn’t that what we’re doing already?” The whole visit seemed stilted, like she had some other reason to be here but didn’t want to say it.
“It is,” she said, “and I hope to continue that part of our relationship.” She paused right before reaching for the doorknob. For a moment Diluc thought it was out of pain, but she turned herself to face him.
“You… You look well. That’s good.”
And with that she was gone into the night. The next day continued on, and then the next one, and the next one after that. The match was the talk of the town for a while before dying out. But her last few words stuck with him for longer than he wanted to think about.
---
A/N: Yeah, I play Genshin Impact too lol :S I will admit that I wasn’t immediately onboard with the ship, but it’s likeable enough for me to do this at least.

Qrowin Week 2021 - Storm
“And you are sure this will work?”
“You already paid the first half, yet you express doubt now?”
Qrow’s sword was still sheathed as he looked over the sea. Words of war had come across the ocean, and before long the southernmost island was taken. Spurred on by the promises of their Witch Queen, they had long eyed the earth beyond the sunsets, behind every sunrise. And now they had arrived.
The generals had always prepared for this, and yet seeing the smoldering island in the distance was harrowing. The forces would shore up on it before setting sail for the next. Staging their own naval landing wasn’t out of the picture, but the logistics behind it was difficult. Ships had to be prepared, supplies gathered, and time.
Time was the most costly of them all. Even if they were quick in preparation, it would already be too late. That didn’t mean it wasn’t worth the time to prepare, but he would have to find a way to delay the advance.
He turned to the priestess. “When does it begin?”
Winter took a deep breath. “To question me this much - you are very resistant to the charms upon you.” Her hand rose, pointing to the evening sky. The stars had begun to come out, but the darkness had yet to truly settle in. “When the Wenjil Star crosses between The Twins, that is when it will occur.”
“And you have seen it yourself?”
She clicked her tongue and walked away from the cliff. “Enough. Come with me. It is time for the second half of your payment.”
The tattoos on his back began to sting lightly, like the light scratch from a bird’s feet. It was a command that he couldn’t ignore for long, and he followed after her.
---
In time, the enemy prepared to move out. But just as the first ship sailed, the stars aligned and the storm rolled through. It was the worst ever seen, raging through the day and into the night.
And when the winds settled and the skies cleared, not a single black flag was on the ocean.
---
A/N: Aaaand we’re done! I kinda got stuck on this one, and I think it shows. Originally I was going to write out or imply what goes on after Qrow follows after Winter, but I kinda liked leaving it as-is. So who knows lol.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed what I put up. Cya around!

Qrowin Week 2021 Day 6 - Crow
There was a crow perched on the sign pointing north into the village. Population set at just below a hundred. It glanced at her, perhaps focusing on her neck, and then returned to whatever it was doing.
Eyes and Cars
On the road was another crow, this one pecking away at stones. It ignored her this time, finally locating the grub in the ground and gobbling it for a snack.
Along the telephone lines were more crows, perhaps resting. She followed the path they made, eventually finding herself at an older part of town.
The trail of birds ended there. Time to start searching.
Eyes and Cars
For all Detective Winter knew, this could have just been a ploy to lure her out. It had been months since she saw her… partner of sorts. Bedfellow. Something. Disappearing without a trace wasn’t unusual, but he would periodically leave messages for her.
This time, however, there were no messages. Either Qrow was in deep and knew he was being watched, or someone was mimicking his call signal - a single black feather on her desk. This time, though, it was accompanied by a card with only a few words.
Eyes and Cars
The risk was worth it. It had to be worth it. With no leads on the case, she needed something, anything. The string of robberies couldn’t continue. Maybe it was a hunch on the next target, or maybe it was a trail of associates she could follow.
This part of the village didn’t have much. Maybe an old movie theater, a little park in the center of it all, and a few blocks of streets before morphing into highways. A few people seemed to be present, but none paid attention to her.
Finally, though, a single crow swooped down onto a car, and her thoughts raced back to the single word he gave her. Winter watched as it hopped from the roof of it onto another, and another, and then another, and-
... For a town this small, there were certainly a lot of cars. And if there were so few residents, wouldn’t they know who each person was? It could have been a coincidence that they were too shy to stare, but surely someone would have said something. Something was in this town.
There was a ruffle of clothing in the air, and she turned around to see a tall man walking away from her. “Don’t go out the way you came in, Ms. Schnee. There’s a car for you to the west, you’ll know which one.”
She wanted to ask a thousand questions, but kept silent and moved west. And when she put her hands into her coat pocket, there was an unfamiliar car key inside it.
---
A/N: Just one day left. I know i’m late, but i’m gonna try to do it!

Qrowin Week 2021 Free Day - Magic Mischief
A/N: For the free day, I ended up making a follow-up to this piece! You don’t have to read it for context, but you might like it too!
---
A very oddly dressed man and a pure-white cat taking the dirt roads through the dense forests. Keener eyes would be more suspicious, but none asked in the end. Besides, the cat was exceptionally well-behaved. Not a huge fan of getting coddled by anyone else except for the man, though.
But there was this one time where there was an annoying rooster at an inn they were staying at. Always cawing at the crack of dawn, never relenting until everyone was awake. When they left, the rooster was nowhere to be seen.
And no one wanted to question the woman who had a crow on her shoulder. An exceptionally smart crow. Maybe it picked up some bits of language from the lady, who had the outfit of a wandering soldier. But there was certainly a confident aura around her, even when she swept the last coin from the dealer and everyone else at the blackjack table.
And when she was accused of cheating (as expected at a shady bar that had a poker table) she seemed more bored than scared. “And this is why I can’t gamble with cards. Everyone thinks I’m cheating.” For most the tone of voice would have been a sign of danger, but perhaps everyone was too inebriated to notice.
The bird seemed happy to feast on the peanut bits on the counter, and no one seemed to question that he had already eaten two bowls and was walking his way over to the third one. Of course, it was the third one that was grabbed and thrown at her. She caught the bowl, but all the food bits were scattered and wasted.
To prevent any punches from being thrown she got up from the table, leaving the ‘coins’ on the surface for the others to squabble over. Her crow quickly flew to her shoulder as she exited the bar.
“How long do you think they’ll realize that their coins are all gone?” Qrow asked. “A shame about the peanuts though - they’re always a nice treat.”
“It’ll disappear in about ten minutes. Plenty of time for us to find a seat and watch.” After making sure that no one was watching, Winter crouched down and leapt into the air, giving just enough time for Qrow to take off into the air. In a flash she landed upon the bar’s roof as a white cat. And as she tiptoed to a particularly comfortable patch of roofing, he came back and settled down right next to her.
“You’re very vindictive when you’re drunk, you know.”
“I’ll let you know that these were the cleanest sets of blackjack I’ve ever played in my life. I won every hand fair and square and guessed right every time.” Winter then hacked up several cards. “So in revenge, their card pile is now also lacking some very key cards.”
When the yelling started happening, the two of them couldn’t really see the chaos. It was more that they heard it. It was, however, cathartic in a mild sense. He got revenge for his peanuts, and, Winter-
“Good luck getting twenty-one without aces, you little bitches.”

Qrowin Week Day 3 - Truth or Dare
“Truth or dare - do you think we’ll ever get out of here?”
Winter slowly turned her head to him. For a heavily medicated man, he was surprisingly sentient. The nurses said he was supposed to be asleep ten minutes ago. “Even I know that’s not how the game goes. Go to sleep, Qrow.”
“I need-” he gulped, “need to get you out of here because otherwise you’ll never get to fly to the moon to fight the wallet.”
“Oh, believe me - I do have to go but you need to sleep first. If I play truth or dare with you, will you go to sleep?”
Qrow had some painkillers going into him for a broken leg. Nothing serious, but…
Well, okay, maybe it was kind of serious. Winter wasn’t a doctor, but she was very sure that legs don’t turn that way.
“I dare you to buy a convenience store.”
She leaned back in the chair. “Please pick something more reasonable. Besides, I’m supposed to pick what I want. Truth.”
He blinked at her, and then again. “Do you want kids?” If Qrow was still a little loopy, he was hiding it very well. After he asked the question, though, she was still silent. It wasn’t really something they had discussed directly - just some thoughts and ideas, passing gazes at other families.
“We’re not married yet, you know.” She reached over and helped rearrange his pillow, gently lifting his head.
Qrow closed his eyes. “Hasn’t stopped some people. And besides - that’s now how you play truth or dare.”
She settled back down into her chair. “I don’t know yet. Your turn to pick.”
“Dare.”
“I dare you to close your eyes for ten minutes and not fall asleep.”
He peeked an eye at her. “Do I get anything if I win?”
She brought her hand to her chin, “If you succeed, maybe you’ll find out.”
---
A/N: Sometimes I wonder if I should actually put some planning into the week prior to the actual week. I usually just do it all the day of, so I miss the coherence sometimes.

Qrowin Week 2021 Day 2: Childhood Friends AU
Winter’s words held a finality she knew Qrow wouldn’t stand against. “I can’t stay here anymore. If I stay I won’t be able to protect myself, not while I’m still under his thumb.” It’s not that he didn’t try - he did, and in fact he supported her decision.
He just didn’t like the direction she settled upon. “Is the military really the only option available? We can make space in our restaurant for staff. You’d probably even make more than I do just starting out because of tips.”
She looked at the items on her bed - a day’s worth of clothes, toiletries, it looked more like a simple day trip instead of a potential one-way ticket. She began to pack them away, “I know that there are other choices. But I want this one, Qrow.”
His back was against the door. It’s not that he was blocking her way. He just gravitated to that spot ever since he was young. He’d move if she asked, but his newfound height was something to consider.
His eyes traced the floor to her feet and then to her. “What about your sister?”
“... She’s going to need a friend. I…” she swallowed. “I was hoping you could introduce her to someone her age. Maybe your nieces when they’re all a bit older.”
“... Okay, I can do that.”
---
A/N: Hello again - this was a bit shorter than I would have liked, but I couldn’t really make the idea go anywhere in the end. A bit annoyed, but is what it is in the end :S I’ll see how the other days turn out.

Qrowin Week 2021 - Did I Bake it?
A/N: The real prompt is “Did I make it”, but when it was first announced I misread it so HERE WE GO
---
“Your nieces want apology cookies.”
“... What?”
It was a very sudden interjection from Winter. Here they were at a “fine” restaurant (Qrow wasn’t sure if a fast-casual burger place was considered fine, but she picked it out so no guilt there) waiting for their food (bacon cheeseburgers with everything on it and some fries for them to share), and she brought up a possible point of contention with his family.
“They’re mad we kept it a secret for so long.”
Oh, so just pretending to be mad. He leaned back in his chair. “It’s probably a joke. I don’t think they expect you to actually do it.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised,” Winter brought out her scroll and tabbed away to the message she got from Yang. “There’s way too many happy faces and weird capitals to take it seriously.” She eyed him, however, and he knew what she wanted. “Of course, I don’t see a reason why I shouldn’t bake some anyway. Just add onto the joke, after all.”
A pause.
“Have you ever made-”
“No. I was hoping you could offer some pointers.”
Qrow grabbed a fry and put it in his mouth. “Well, they’re not too hard. They might not say it’s the best they’ve had, but I’m sure they’ll still be satisfied.”
Winter grasped a piece herself, but instead let her gaze linger on the piece. “Any type of cookie you recommend?”
“They’ll always like chocolate chip cookies, although you’ll also need to write an apology message.” He grabbed another piece. “Otherwise it’s just cookies and not really apology cookies.”
“A message?”
“Yeah - to explain what you’re sorry for.”
---
Dear nieces (Hi Yang and Ruby),
Please accept this humble batch of apology cookies I baked. To be clear, I’m not sorry for deciding to keep fucking your uncle. However, I’m sorry you can’t do anything about it.
Winter

Warning - contains spoilers for the end of V8
Gotta say that I didn’t expect to come together to write this, but after seeing it last week the thought for more Qrowin hate/angst sex suddenly hit me. It’s not a very long piece, but I hope you enjoy for now!
Also sorry for the silence on this blog recently - hopefully it’ll remain at least somewhat active :S But most of my writing energies are being funneled into the project I’m working on, so you’ll have to forgive me on that.
Still, I hope to see you all soon!

Some guard: Wow, thanks you two. I don’t think I could have handled that rowdy bunch alone without you two stepping.
Winter: Don’t worry. Ruffians like that are just foreplay to Qrow and I.
Some Guard: ...
Qrow: ...
Winter: Child’s play. I meant to say child’s play.

Qrowin Weekend 2020 - Part 2
Celebration
“They couldn’t be here today, so they emailed the design.”
Qrow’s arm was draped over Winter’s shoulder as they both watched the scroll.
“... Why is there a drink warmer?” She dragged her finger over the screen, looking over the schematics from every angle she could orchestrate. And for all her scrutiny, it looked good.
He took a deep breath. “Ruby says Weiss insisted that they add one. Something about keeping her coffee warm for when she visits.”
She gave the diagram another spin. “And what if she spills it?”
Qrow snorted, “It’s your sister - I haven’t seen her spill a drop of coffee. Ever.”
Afterward, though, there was a moment of silence as she put the scroll down. She let her head rest against his shoulder. It was getting a bit tougher to move around now, and she certainly couldn’t continue her role as a huntress. Or anything much for the matter.
Winter let herself get comfortable on the couch. “Being pregnant is annoying. How do animals do this without getting annoyed at it all.”
“Well, most of the time there is, you know,” a yawn broke through, but he continued, “a mate that helps them.” Qrow shot her a look, “Am I helpful?”
She put a peck on his lips, “As long as you’re not trying to build a crib.”
He snorted. “Come on, it wasn’t that bad, was it?”
“No, but it was just a crib. We built our own weapons - I’m expecting a high quality product from you.”
“Ah, yes - such as a retractable drink warmer that we still don’t really know who it’s for.” He gave a sigh, “Honestly it’s probably to keep the milk warm, but I still think it’s an excuse for a coffee holder.”
Silence, again. Amicable, but there was still a level of nervousness. “Do you think they’ll be here?”
This time, Qrow put a kiss into her hair and his warm arm gave her a soft squeeze. “It’s a Schnee baby shower. Weiss wouldn’t have missed it if she could have, and something about old business screams about having to show up. I’m sure someone will be here.”
“And if not, well, you’re already a part of the Branwen extended family. We’ll be more than happy to be there.”
The doorbell rang, and as Qrow got up to open the door, the fear was still there. But as the first set of guests entered, a feeling of warmth began to push it out of the way.
---
A/N: Yaaaay! we did it :3 I like this one more than yesterday’s - it just feels more complete (and also in general not stupid as much lol)

Qrowin Weekend 2020 - Part 1
Bickering:
“What if I just, like, licked your cheek?”
“... As … As in- EW WHAT ARE YOU-”
---
Qrow didn’t really think there was actual weight to her words on banishing him to the couch. But the longer he stared at her face, the wet streak lingering and drying on her cheek, he finally relented and got up from the bed. It was a weird thing to be thrown out for - but here he was, on the couch with a blanket over his knees and his feet draped over the edge.
The couch wasn’t really a loveseat, but it sure felt like it sometimes.
Just as he somehow managed to make himself comfortable, though, the only other set of footsteps in their apartment echoed across the dark halls. His eyes, already adjusted to the darkness, were able to pick out Winter’s hand as they glided atop the couch to hover over the table and finally press the switch.
When he stopped blinking his eyes at the burst of light, he noticed Winter was also carrying a blanket. She looked at his legs and he got the picture.
“So what’s up?” Qrow said as he pulled his legs towards chest, his back rising up to meet the armrest.
With a small breath, she took the empty spot and he watched as her lips mashed against each other. “I probably overreacted a bit.”
It was his turn to exhale. “Well, I probably didn’t have to just lick you straight away.”
“I mean,” she gulped, “it’s hardly the worst thing you’ve done.”
“We’ve done.”
He could hear her eyes rolling in the dark. “The point is, Qrow, is that I was probably being a little... petty.”
He nudged his big toe into her thigh.
“And I'm sorry.”
Qrow would have pushed more on the thought, to see if she had more to say. As he watched her arms encircle her shoulders, he let it lie. “Alright, now come here.”
The couch wasn’t really a loveseat, but it sure felt like it sometimes.
