Note
I agree. His cards and phone calls and all of that fit him. Alternating between subtlety and some pretty direct one liners. I don't think I'll ever get over him threatening to show us how a surgeon ties knots. Just because it's low key doesn't mean the lads devs don't feed Zayne girlies well
My other thing is, even if we get tamer cards, that's kinda what fanfic is for
People are seriously complaining about Zayne's cards being less spicy? I happen to remember a phone call where he promises to let us check him all over if we go to our appointments. And card where we're in a rather compromising position.
I dunno how his compare Xavi's and Rafayel's, but Zayne's are plenty spicy
— yeah idrk whats going on but ive seen alot of talk of it, i think his are definitely the more ‘tame’ of the three but still he has his moments 😅 but all in all i think they match they’re personalities ?? rafs OBVIOUSLY being the more flirtatious, xavs a little more awkward and zaynes on the subtler side!! i guess it makes sense to me so i dont really see the issue

The Masks Wounded Hearts Wear
Character: Kaeya (ft. Zhongli, Diluc) Constellation: Chamaeleon Season: Winter Genre: Angst with a Happy ending @yunthebishoujo  here is your request CW: Angst with a Happy ending, Injuries,  A/N: This was long and sometimes emotional, but damn was it worth the effort. Slightly edited, but not beta read, since my beta reader requested this and wanted it to be a surprise.
Summary: Kaeya tracks fatui in Dragonspine as a favor to Diluc. When things go south, he receives some wise advice.
CW: Angst with a Happy ending, Injuries, Ragbros being shitty at feelings
Word Count: Between 1500 and 2600 depending on whether you ask google docs or Ao3
AN: It's been freaking ages since I wrote this and it's still high on my list of favorites. Like, I am a total sucker a) for ragbros reconciliation, and b) for Zhongli being super wise and giving advice. Also for platonic cuddling, if this counts. I dunno if it counts in context.
Kaeya crouches in the shadows cast by one of Dragonspine’s massive hills, watching a fatui squad feat on a boar.
The knight’s stomach growls. The hundred or so feet between him and the fatui is not enough to dissipate the smell of cooking meat. After two weeks of tailing the group, eating nothing but standard Knight’s of Favonius trail rations, a growing part of him is suggesting joining them for dinner.
Unfortunately for his stomach and frozen fingers, he and the redhead vigilante that sent him are equals in the art of espionage, where discipline rules over all.
Kaeya brings his fingers to his face, trying to use what little breath escapes around his borrowed fatui mask to warm his fingers, but only succeeds in making them wet and cold, not just cold.
He shuffles forward a few steps, training his ears on the camp below him.
As he does, a soft snow begins to fall, leaving a light layer of misery on the fatui agent outfit that Diluc loaned him. Where Diluc got it, Kaeya isn’t sure he wants to know.
With the uniform on, he tracked this squad from a spot just south of the Dawn Winery, up Wyrmrest Valley (where the number of fatui alone nearly got him bought) and down the road that clings to the western side of the mountain’s main peak, to where they are now.
All Diluc said on the matter was “You still owe me a favor from when we trained as knights. I’m calling it in. There’s a squad of fatui not too far from here. Track them and figure out why they’re so close to the winery. And leave your vision behind. You won’t be able to hide it wearing that.”
When Kaeya asked why, Diluc responded with “You should know why.”
Kaeya sighs, watching his breath mix with heavy snowflakes. If he had to guess, the sour look on the redhead’s face was because he knows full well that Kaeya is the only one he can trust with this. Kaeya is the liar, the one with the masks, the one who could pass for a fatui if need be. And, Kaeya thinks with a smirk, Diluc’s shoulders would never fit in the pyro agent’s uniform
Kaeya waits for what seems like hours, listening to the fatui’s conversation while he acquires a layer of snow.
Eventually he hears a pyrosligner ask the others “we should be far enough from the wine maker’s mansion. We should open that wine now.”
Oh. Oh. Awareness dawns on the knight. You’re showing your hand little brother. This has nothing to do with the Dark Knight Hero, just a theft you apparently only trust me with.
Kaeya shuffles forward, trying to remain within sight of the fatui camp.
Two steps from his original position, however, the worst happens. With his eyes trained on the fire that serves as his only guide in the rising storm, he slips on a patch of ice.
His legs go out from under him and he lands on his back with a sharp crack before sliding into a snowbank.
Kaeya lays there for several minutes, gasping for air that only burns.
Suddenly the mask on his face weighs a thousand pounds, mirroring the one that he’s worn since he was a mere ten years old.
His next breath is half sob. A stern face, framed in scarlet hair, filled with grief and bitter rage fills his vision.
So like a Knight of Favonius, inefficient, incompetent. A liar. You’re not my brother.
“Diluc. Brother.” Kaeya whispers.
As the snow falls on his mask, lingering as if they were frozen tears, Kaeya finds himself wanting to flee Dragonspine, to return to the Dawn Winery, his proper home. And embrace Diluc like a brother again. To see Diluc smile.
Kaeya stirs, pushing himself up, wrapping that desire around him like a cloak, then stumbles off into the storm. He doesn’t know what direction he’s going, but promises himself, no matter what, he’s going home.
While Kaeya fights a blizzard, Zhongli wanders around the Liyue edge of Dragonspine.
All around him, the few birch trees found in Liyue have lost the last of their leaves. But Zhongli finds that their winter state has an austere beauty. The ending of one year leaves room for the beginning of the next.
Not unlike the Geo Archon, Zhongli thinks with a wry chuckle.
Before he can move north, however, a flash of red and black amidst the blizzard raging on Dragonspine catches his attention.
A fatui pyro agent stumbles out of the wall of white. What few parts of the fatuus that aren’t covered in snow are frozen solid.
The ex-archon summons a stone spear, still his weapon of choice when it’s needed, but approaches the fatuus calmly. Although he seems to bear no threat, any fatuus warrants a certain level of caution.
The pyro agent tilts his head at Zhongli, as if confused  or disoriented, before collapsing.
After a moment’s thought, Zhongli releases the spear, letting it return to the earth, before lifting the fatuus and bringing him to one of the abandoned houses in Mingyun Village.
Once settled, Zhongli lays the motionless man on a bedroll, then curls up around him, chest to chest, using his own body heat to warm him. Then he removes the agent’s mask, curious as to the face of his new charge.
The sight of the supposed fatuus--or rather the battered young man wearing a fatuus uniform-- has Zhongli leaning back an inch and raising an eyebrow.
“This is… unexpected. Let's see what I can do for you, youngling.”
Zhongli examines the young man carefully, finding a sprained ankle, a couple broken ribs, and a number of scratches and bruises covering him from head to toe.
Given the area the man came from, it all points to a bad fall--and likely a head injury.
At the thought, Zhongli lays a hand on his charge’s shoulder, gently shaking him awake.
As if a non-fatuus in pyro agent clothing wasn’t shocking enough, when the young man opens his eyes, Zhongli is met with something he hasn’t seen in 500 years, something he swore never to speak of. The violet irises looking back at him--or in his general direction, as the young man don't seem to be capable of focusing on anything in particular--surround the star-like pupils of the Khaenri’ah people. Khaenri’ah, which should be gone, something of the past and painful memories. But with eyes like his, there is no doubt, the young man is from Khaenri’ah.
Zhongli shoves the thought aside. Khaenri’ah fell half a millennium ago. No matter where the boy came from or what people he owes his allegiance to, Zhongli isn’t going to let him die from hypothermia and the worst of his injuries. So, he wraps himself around the young Khaenri'an and waits.
The Khaenri’an man slowly warms, regaining color in his lips and cheeks. As he does, his eyes clear and he reaches out for something, accidentally hitting Zhongli in the process.
“What are you looking for?” Zhongli says, mindful that his lip are inches away from the other man’s ear.
“Eye-patch,” the young man rasps, putting space between them.
Zhongli doesn’t follow, taking the opportunity to get a better look at his face while he takes a seat next to the bed-roll. Over his right eye the not-fatuus bears a prominent scar.
“You didn’t have one with you. What’s your name?”
The more Zhongli speaks the greater the confusion present in the not-fatuus’ face. “Kaeya? Wait where am I? Where’s Diluc? I need to---”
Kaeya shoots up, but Zhongli pushes his shoulders down. “You’re in Liyue. You came out of Dragonspine. I trust you remember that much.”
“Dragonspine? Oh. Oh. How bad is it?”
“Broken ribs, sprained ankle, some bruises and scrapes. I wouldn’t be surprised if you started showing signs of a concussion. You shouldn’t be moving for a bit.”
Kaeya sinks into the blankets and stares up at the ceiling. “I guess.”
“Where are you from? Khaenri’ah has been gone for 500 hundred years.”
A spasm of pain crosses Kaeya’s face, before the emotion is shoved aside in favor of a well-practiced mask. “It’s a long story.”
“I have a fondness for long stories.”
Kaeya regards his savior with a guarded look. “You haven’t introduced yourself.”
“Ah. Pardon me. I’m Zhongli.”
The blatant suspension tells Zhongli that his charge is adept at reading others-- seeing things that aren’t spoken of--and that the current answer is not one he’d accept.
“I’ll tell you my story if you tell me the truth.”
A contract: A secret for a secret; a truth for a truth; a fair trade of deep secrets.
“It’s no lie. But trading one truth for another is fair. I will agree.”
“Thank you.”
Zhongli takes a moment to read Kaeya, the hesitancy, the exhaustion--certainly physical and likely emotional--, as well as a weight ill-suited for a man still in his early twenties.
“I think I’ll start, if that is acceptable to you.”
Kaeya nods. “Please.”
“Where to begin… Ah. Once, many, many years ago, the gods fought for dominance, seeking to claim the chairs of the seven archons. It was a brutal time and there was no peace in Teyvat. To protect one’s people, one would have to fight for the throne. Those who didn’t, died.
“One of those seekers was Morax. As history tells it, Morax won the Geo Throne, and spent nearly three thousand years watching over the Nation of Geo as Rex Lapis.”
“Rex Lapis is dead.”
“The only way for a nation to live without their archon is for that archon to put himself beyond the reach of his followers. The Geo Archon knew this well.”
“You’re Rex Lapis.”
“Morax is dead. I am simply an old fashioned Liyue citizen. I’ve simply seen more years than most and held power very few can comprehend. Now, I think it’s your turn, young Kaeya.”
Kaeya takes a deep breath and starts from the beginning, of how he was raised and the task he was given. He tells of how he was abandoned by one father and raised by the next and of his adopted brother.
When he speaks of Crepus’s death, his fight with Diluc, and the vision that saved him, his voice weakens and he curls in hon himself.
“I don’t know how to make it better,” Kaeya confesses. “I don’t know how to make him not hate me. I did lie to him, to Father, and everyone at home, but I can’t tell them the truth. I just want to go home.”
Zhongli is silent for a long moment. “Perhaps it is best to stop lying to your brother.”
“What do you mean? I told him the truth. He nearly killed me for it.”
“About the past, perhaps, but have you told him what you just told me?”
“He wouldn’t accept it. I was surprised when he asked for my help tracking some fatui wine thieves. Really, all he had to do was tell me someone stole the wine. How, I don’t know, but they did.”
“Even for an archon, it’s impossible to truly know the hearts of others. You cannot know how he’ll react because you are not him. He went to you for help, didn’t he?”
“He did.”
“I’ve seen six thousand years and watched humans for more than half of it.” Zhongli smiles softly as he speaks. “Trust me, Kaeya. Be honest.”
“I’ll try.”
“Good. As soon as you can move around easily, I’ll take you back to Mondstadt.”
It takes two weeks for Kaeya’s ankle to heal and for his ribs to not twinge every time he moves.
With each moment that passes the ache in his heart grows. The longer he’s away from home, the more he wishes that he had never given it up.
Once his sprained ankle heals, however, he wraps himself back up in the pyro agent’s clothing--a large part of those two weeks was spent mending the holes his fell had made-- and replaces the mask.
Zhongli frowns when he sees Kaeya back in the guise of a fatuus, but doesn’t comment.
“Let go,” Zhongli says before leading Kaeya back home.
The night Kaeya returns to the Dawn Winery is a frigid one. Zhongli had left him at the edge of the two nations, wishing him luck and reminding him of the advice he gave.
Well after the sun has set, Kaeya checks his mask. It’s dirty and scratched, but it covers the scar over his eye.
When he’s sure that all is in place he creeps up to the mansion and scales the walls. Diluc’s window is lit like it always is this time of night and rather than trying to get past Adelinde and the servants who are blissfully unaware of their master’s pastime, it’s easier to just pick the lock of the window.
The window creaks as it opens, startling Diluc out of his work, but Kaeya is in the room before he can move.
Diluc reaches for his claymore. “Who do---”
Kaeya hurries to remove the mask, certain that if it came to blows now, Diluc would wipe the floor with him. Frustrating, but true.
“Kaeya? What the---”
Diluc punches Kaeya, sending the latter’s head snapping backwards.
“Dammit, Diluc, what was that for?”
“We thought you were dead, you asshole,” Diluc hisses. “I thought I had sent you out to die. You should have at least sent a letter or something.”
“I didn’t know you still cared, D.”
Diluc opens his mouth to retort but closes it. “Where were you?”
“Recovering in Liyue. Getting some advice. It seems like Zhongli is as wise as he’s rumored to be.”
“Oh?”
“He told me to tell you the truth.”
Diluc raises an eyebrow. “The truth? The one you lied about until Father died.”
Kaeya backs up and sits on Diluc’s bed, rubbing at his aching ribs. Climbing the winery wall might not have been his brightest idea.
“I had bad timing on that. Father’s death messed me up too, D. He was larger than life and losing him was---”
“Hard.”
“Yea, it was. But there’s something else I haven’t said.”
Diluc glares at Kaeya. “Then say it.”
“I miss being here. I just about died after I slipped and fell during a storm--heroic, I know-- but all I could think about was how much I missed the way things were. I heard you calling me incompetent and a liar and all I wanted was for you to smile and call me brother again. I wanted to come home, to the Winery, to fight side by side. But I didn’t think you’d ever want to.”
Diluc takes a seat on the bed next to Kaeya. Kaeya's honesty twists something in his gut, reminding him of the many times Crepus helped the two make up after their typical sibling squabbles. The guilt and mistrust that has constantly warred within him is quelled by those memories.
The redhead sighs and stares at his toes, not quite willing to look his brother in the eyes. “I think Father would be ashamed of us right now. We were brothers and brothers are supposed to stick together. Or that’s what he’d say.”
“He’d be lecturing us until our ears burned.”
Diluc looks over at Kaeya. “Can we try again?”
“What?”
"Can we try again? To be brothers. And maybe make Father proud."
"You really want to?"
“I was pissed, but I overreacted.”
Kaeya smiles. "Yeah. We can try again. It'll be nice to hang around you when I'm not working on drinking."
"Which you could stand to cut back on."
"Says the person who supplies my vice."
Yet, as they go back and forth, all Kaeya can hear is the unspoken “I still love you.”

Spring Date HCS (Kaeya, Diluc, Albedo)
I always love it when spring finally comes around. Even though the grass where I live is almost perpetually green (like wtf??!! How can it be freaking Christmas and some of the grass is green?!!!), I love seeing the trees start to bud out. And the sun. Having the sun out more is nice too
Under the cuts, spring dates with Kaeya, Diluc,  and Albedo
GN reader
cw: slight mention of after hours fun. Not much because that’s a different set off head canons entirely, but it’s there
Kaeya
His first suggestion was to go drinking
Of course the answer was no, not happening
So instead you’re walking around on the Mondstadt version of a mall date
Kaeya seems like he’s the type who looooves PDA, so he’s always holding your hand
Or maybe you’re holding his hand because he’s definitely the type to tease you with little touches that are designed to turn the date very R18 by the end of the day
To be fair, he really doesn’t have to try that hard
He’s hot and charming and he uses it to full effect
In the evening you two climb up venti’s statue (Kaeya is a charmer and will happily go the extra mile. Probably made you a pretty staircase else style to get up there too hehe)
You sit and he pulls you closer so that your head rests against his chest
And the two of you want the sunset from the best seats in city
Diluc
Have you seen this man’s voice lines?
The guy is sweet as hell (10/10 would date)
He picked you up, right on time and had roses waiting. Really nice ones because he can definitely afford them
Instead of staying in the city, you two went out on horse back
Brought a picnic lunch
But most of the time is spent riding and talking. Or riding and not talking.
The both of you are just happy to have a day off with no real itinerary
Just let the wind lead
So around lunch time you guys find a nice spot-- preferably slime free, but Diluc doesn’t have any problems clearing a spot for you if the spot is nice enough’
You eat lunch and continue just handing out
Really date day is the day that both of you can just be you
You watch the sunset while you’re out
And when you get back into the city he walks you to your door, gives you a goodbye kiss that might turn into more but shhh
Albedo
Last but not least
Our favorite Mondstadt nerd
It’s not on Dragonspine
You put your foot down on that one. No freezing on a spring date
You also handed off Klee to Kaeya archons save us all so the two of you have time alone
I’d say it’s a work date, because his work is basically being as curious as possible, but really, his focus is on you
He can’t stop being curious
But he’ll spend the entire time studying you, figuring out what makes you laugh and smile and then work on doing those things
He seems like the kind who remembers all of the small stuff
If you told him your favorite flower, that’s what he brings you when he picks you up or greets you at the foot of Dragonspine
After that you go exploring
Not unlike with Diluc, but with Albedo your wandering has a distinct purpose
For some reason the desire to know is just there when you’re around Albedo
Not that you’ll complain, not when his attention is on you
If your hair is in your face, he’ll tuck it behind your ear, letting his fingers linger on the edge, feeling the skin only he gets to feel and feeling a certain amount of satisfaction that your his
Even if he doesn’t talk much, he listens. He’ll respond when need be, but he really does love to listen
While you’re out, you eat a picnic lunch he packed and then continue walking around
Instead of taking you home that night, he brings you up to his cave in Dragonspine
It wouldn’t be the first night you’ve spent there and it beats the noise of Mondstadt city in the spring
And there’s no one to hear if you decide the two of you want to do some more intimate experimentation

━ when you and him break the bed
pairing : Zayne/Mc, Rafayel/Mc, Xavier/Mc
warning : suggestive, nsfw
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zayne -
"Sooo..." you side eye Zayne while he stands beside you. You're both staring at the dent in the mattress as the result of the broken slats that held it up. His shirt hangs loose on your figure and your fingers are fiddling with the fabric of the sleeve. You were sure you felt something crack underneath you, but at the heat of the moment it's too easy to ignore everything else. He's silent, squinting his eyes but simultaneously attempting to hide his smug smile. As much as this is an inconvenience, he has a reason to be proud.
He walks over to the bed and lifts up the edge of this heavy mattress so he can properly study the damage. You stand near him once again with hands on your hips, nodding to yourself.
"Hmm, well... Yup, definitely broken." you purse your lips.
Zayne drops the mattress and glances back at you.
"Aren't you perceptive?" his tone is sarcastic, with a mischievous twinge to it.
You roll your eyes playfully, making him smile.
"What now?" you ask, intently watching him turn around and firmly place his hands on your hips.
"Now, we're going to have to continue this somewhere else."
Tumblr media
Rafayel -
He inspects the damage, agreeing that he’ll definitely have to call someone. He turns his head towards you, standing up. There’s a cocky twinkle in his eyes as he smirks.
“What.” you cross your arms over your chest, scoffing.
He shrugs his shoulders, continuing to hold his cheeky smile. “I didn’t say anything!”
You point an accusatory finger at him. “You’re giving me that look again.”
He tilts his head to the side, admiring how cute you look in his shirt. His stare envelops your being with embarrassment and you poke his cheeks, which just makes him laugh.
“Rafayel, stop.”
He grabs your wrist to prevent you from poking him any longer and he wraps his arms around your waist. He chuckles when you cover your face with your hands, prompting him to try to pry them away from your beautiful face.
“Why are you being so shy now?” he knows how to receive a reaction from you. “About ten minutes ago you were riding me so hard you broke my bed.”
You look at him in disbelief. “I couldn’t be the only one to cause that!”
“Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say.”
Tumblr media
Xavier -
“Should we just keep going?” he questions, standing naked as he didn’t have enough time to react and dress up. And god knows where his underwear is. You’re struggling to find your own.
“Xav, the bed is broken. I almost fell into that dent.” you tighten the belt of your bathing robe around you.
Xavier sits at the edge of the bed, pushing down onto different spots of the mattress.
“This side is still sturdy enough.” he glances up at you with a hopeful look in his eyes.
You shoot him a glare, wondering how long you’re going to have to sleep on your couch before this is sorted.
“So… I guess not.” he’s still eyeing you with his ‘innocent’ puppy eyes.
It is fairly funny that this happened but at the same time it’ll cost you. You watch as the hunter sits quietly, waiting for your decision. He’ll do anything you want after all.
You roll your eyes playfully and smile, cupping his face in your hands. You lean down to kiss him on the lips.
“How about your place for now?”
The excitement quickly returns to him and he’s ecstatic at your offer.

Love and Deepspace Guys w/ an Autistic S/O who is Overwhelmed/burnt out (Xavier and Zayne)
Please keep in mind that this is based off of my personal experience, i certainly don't speak for everyone. This is also based on my perception of the boys. I'd do Raf as well, but I just don't know him well enough.
Xavier x gn!reader, Zayne x gn! reader
Xavier
I feel like Xavier would be really, really good at dealing with an overwhelmed or burnt out s/o
He's not socially demanding, like at all, and he's really quiet so there's not the intensity that makes burn out and being generally overwhelmed
I'm not sure he'd be as great at insisting that you take care of yourself, but if you don't to hang out or you need a week away, he's 100% supportive
He's also very willing to take on extra work to make sure that you can actually rest
Honestly, I see him being very happy just to rest with you, since he seems to be super tired all the time. Seriously, how does he sleep standing up. Like, at least go sit down.
But best of all, he's just a no pressure kind of guy.
Zayne
I'll admit, my preference for Zayne is probably playing a part here, but I think he'd be great for someone like me who is absolutely shit at taking care of themselves
If Xavier is good at facilitating the need for space and rest, Zayne is the one who insists you get it
reminding you that you don't have to be social 100% of the time. That you can put the social media down and that people can just go fuck themselves if they don't like it
He also seems like the type who is great at making sure it doesn't get as bad as it could. Recognizing the little cues that you're starting to wear down. The pinched face, slight changes in posture. It doesn't get past him that you're not texting as often or that you're spending more time in your room
Which is something that he tries to let you do. He'll be on hand if you need him and he doesn't mind offering a little social stimulation if you need it, but he wants you to focus on yourself
He also teases far less when you're worn out and burnt out. He recognizes that the teasing just isn't going to hit the same way it usually does
Something else that really makes him great is just how proactive he is, not just in recognizing it, but also creating ways for you to communicate how your feeling

I love Zhongli's eyes so much. If I had a dollar for every time I described them as molten gold, I'd be several dollars richer.
But they are and they're so intense. Hell, I'd even describe them as passionate. Zhongli's emotions are always on full display in those beautiful golden depths.

Secrets in the Rain
Summary: Under the boughs of the great tree at Windrise, you and Kaeya share secrets
Word Count: 1201
CW/TW: Mentioned/referenced Sexual assault, hurt/comfort, use of “lady love” as a term of endearment
Kaeya x Fem!reader
A/N: It took a couple years and a lot of editing, but I think this is pretty good. It used to be one of my least favorite fics, but now I think it's worth its salt.
In the Land of the Winds, sheltered by a tree that has seen the passage of ages, you and Kaeya sit side by side.
The silence that hangs between you is broken only by rumbles of thunder and the constant drum of the downpour on the grass around the great oak.
The longer it lingers, the more oppressive the quiet becomes.
When you had come out here, hoping to find guidance from Mondstadt’s greatest hero, you hadn’t asked your boyfriend of several years to follow. It's not like you mind his company, but the turmoil inside you urges you to send him away.
He shouldn't be here. He'll hate you. Don't let him see just how broken you are.
For a moment you’re reminded of one of Amber’s favorite stories, the one where the birds couldn’t fly until they gathered the courage and took the plunge. Looking at Kaeya, who seems to be waiting for you to speak, you realize that in this situation, you’re going to have to be that little, flightless bird. That somehow, you have to ignore the terrified voice, and take the plunge.
So you speak. “Why did you follow me, Kaeya?”
“Am I not supposed to be concerned about my --”
A crack of thunder obscures the end of this sentence, but you’ve heard his favorite term of endearment enough to fill in the blank.
Most days, the charming “lady love” falling from his lips warms you, even if all you do is blush and roll your eyes.
Today, however, isn’t one of those days. Today you sigh, closing in you yourself as one hand wraps around the opposing arm.
A drop of rain splashes on your neck, but you pay no mind.
“Don’t call me that, Kaeya. Not right now.”
“Talk to me, Y/n. What are you thinking? You're not supposed to sit under trees in a storm.”
While you bite your lip, unable to answer, Kaeya narrows his eye at you.
He knows you have your secrets. He sees it in the haunted look that you get sometimes, in the nightmares he knows you have but have never let him soothe. For as long as you’ve been together, he’s been waiting. He knows as well as any that when you're ready to speak, you will.
Another crack of lightning sends a pang of loss and frustration through his heart, reminding him of another, similarly miserable day and the vision he received. His vision, Secrets.
Mondstadt is the City of Freedom, not the City of Trade. Contracts are not its value and Rex Lapis not its god, but perhaps one of its precepts could be a solution. A fair trade, one thing for another. A secret for a secret.
All he knows is that if you're going to be hurting, putting yourself in danger to find comfort in solitude, he at least wants to know why.
Kaeya moves closer, not touching you--knowing that at times like this that you don't like touch--but bringing himself close enough that the storm can't swallow his confession.
“I’m from Khaenri’ah.”
The words are soft, but they’re enough to have you staring at him eyes wide and lips parted.
“Kaeya?”
He takes your question as a prompt to continue. “I was abandoned here, left to be a spy for Khaenri’ah, Though… I’m not sure where my loyalties are anymore.
“The Knights, the Winery--even Diluc as much as I hate to admit it--- and most especially my beautiful lady love. But I was raised for this mission, raised to fight against Mondstadt. I try not to think of what would happen if I were forced to choose between the two.”
Kaeya’s heart hammers in his chest, waiting for your response.
You rest your hand over his. “Is that why you and Diluc fought?”
“It was poor timing on my part. He still hasn’t forgiven me.”
“Neither of you are anything less than mule headed. It’s frustrating, but endearing. I'm happy you told me. ”
You hesitate, biting your lip.
As Kaeya had anticipated, knowing his secrets makes it harder for you to bury yours.
It certainly silences the voice inside. After all, how can he run after sharing a secret like his.
"I guess this means I can't withhold my secret from you anymore. I just don’t know how to say it. I almost can't speak of it, and often, I physically can't."
Kaeya remains silent, letting you take your time.
You sigh, roughly, glaring at the ground. “I’ve spent a lot of time trying to think of a way to say something. To tell you. I trust you more than I trust anyone but…”
“It’s not that easy.”
“Exactly.”
Kaeya doesn’t push, his single, star-pupiled eye giving you quiet encouragement. “You don’t have to tell me, y/n. I might have shared with you, hoping you would tell me what you've been thinking, but if you’re not ready to talk, you're not ready to talk. I won't force you.”
You shake your head. “I want to. You trusted me. I want to return that trust.”
Kaeya shifts your hands so that instead of laying one on top of another, your fingers are laced together. “Take your time.”
You inhale, closing your eyes and steeling your resolve. When you open them your gaze falls to your intertwined fingers.
“Do you know why I won't sleep with you?”
“I’ve made a couple guesses.”
Guesses based on your reactions to certain jokes, to bawdy talk at the Angel’s Share, to your reactions any time he tries to initiate anything more than a heated make out session.
The conclusions he makes are enough to have anger pooling in his gut. But he never pushed, trusting that the truth would come out in due time.
“I should have figured you would. You’re so perspective it’s scary.”
“I’ll take that as a compliment.”
“I--” You avert your eyes as your throat constricts, trying to stop the words before they can be aired. You force them out anyway. “I had my innocence stolen. A long time ago. It took me a long time to realize what happened, but now that I have? It hurts, Kaeya. It hurts so bad and I don’t know how to fix it. And--And I’ve been scared.”
“Scared?”
Tears slip down your face, mixing with the rain that now soaks you both.
“Scared that you’ll leave me because of it. Scared that you’ll learn what my nightmares hold and leave me because of it, because I’ll never be fully whole.”
The look in your eyes is so lost, so scared, a polar opposite to the vibrant aura that surrounds you everywhere you go--his heart breaks for you.
Kaeya draws you into his arms, mindful of any negative reaction to his touch.
It’s gratifying when you melt into his embrace.
“I would never leave you over this. You’re my wonderful Y/n, my lady love. I’m here for you. Always.”
His words break through the last of your barriers and a harsh sob tears itself from your throat.
Kaeya whispers soft words of love and comfort as tears join the rainwater soaking his chest,
Under the boughs of Vanessa’s tree, two secret keepers find honesty and the first step to healing.
Somewhere out there, the Anemo Archon smiles.

During/after your first period, Zayne absolutely looks up medical journals about periods. And also consults with other, less clinical sources. (I mean, ya gotta cover all your bases). But he finds all the latest research and is totally ready for the next one.

Zhongli wants you to go to bed early. You're a night owl. Shenanigans ensue.
✩彡 fluffy domesticity + a lil suggestive!
Besides the fact that Zhongli's body composition is literally inhuman, he is a very healthy man with healthy habits. Wakes up early and exercises, drinks plenty of water, eats clean. Ever since becoming your husband, he's tried to rub some of those off on you as well.
Currently he's gripping your waist, gently trying to pull you away from the couch that you're so desperately clawing at like a wet cat. "No! I want to stay awake and do fun things!" you yowl.
"You can do fun things tomorrow, my love." Zhongli succeeds in pulling you away, promptly scooping you up bridal-style and carrying you back to the bedroom. "The bags under your poor eyes beg to be taken care of. When was the last time you had a good night's sleep? It is already an hour to midnight, and you promised you would come to bed with me." He plops you in bed.
"Once, many years ago, I had a good night's sleep..." You stare out the window dramatically. Instead of a flashback ensuing, however, your husband wraps you up all snug in a blanket. You scowl at him, a silly little blanket burrito scowling at the god, which makes him chuckle.
He plants a fat kiss on your forehead and goes to put out the night-candle. However, he turns when he hears you shifting around. "Darling, please, I want you to-"
"I'm a ghost! Ooooooo!" You wave your arms around, having turned the blanket burrito into a drape over your head, your feet poking out at the bottom.
"My love, your feet will get cold."
"Oooooo!" you emphasize again, getting off the bed and padding in his direction with your arms out in front of you. "I'm going to haunt you, Zhongliiiii~!"
Zhongli simply picks you back up again. "How frightening. I quiver at the thought." Back in bed he plants you, laying you down.
You shoot back up like clockwork, repositioning the blanket with a grin before he can. "Now I'm Little Red Riding Hood! And you're a wolf! I must flee!"
Before he can react, you've bounded out the room and back into the living room, waiting eagerly to see if your husband will follow. Unfortunately, Zhongli is not human, so he simply materialises behind you and picks you up, avoiding the chase altogether.
You squeal. "I forgot you could do that!"
"It would do you well to remember," replies Zhongli, with a light tap to your butt as he brings you back to bed - again. This time though, he lays you down and then lays on top of you, practically smothering you.
You squirm. "Hey! No fair!"
“If necessary, I shall stay atop you all night.”
“Oh?” You blush. "On top of me all night..?"
Zhongli seems to have realised the implication of what he’s said, for his cheeks begin to temper red. He coughs. “That is…not what I meant.”
That doesn't do anything to alleviate your flustered self - Zhongli makes to get up off you, but he seems to have changed his mind; his eyes gleam for a moment.
"But it could be," he adds silkily, sliding a hand under your shirt, fingers meeting bare skin. "And by the end of it, you will fall asleep of exhaustion."
You eye him in anticipation as he locks fingers with yours, your heartbeat quickening in sync with his. It's a night to remember, but he makes good on his promise.

How they Propose (Xiao, Dainsleif, Zhongli)
Thanks to @stygianoir for requesting and giving me some ideas. But I won’t blabber any more
Characters: Xiao, Dain, and Zhongli
Fluff, Fem!reader (no pronouns used) under the cut
Xiao
Let’s go with the hardest first
It is so hard to imagine Xiao proposing, if I’m honest. He’s not the kind to do research on human traditions and rituals
But if he did it was because Zhongli mentioned it or because you did
Once it came up and once he gave it some thought (and probably consulted someone more knowledgeable), he’d propose
His proposal would be something super simple. Even though he would totally want to do right by you, the guy is pretty direct and his proposal would reflect that
Maybe on a warm summer’s night he’d take your hand a slip the ring on your finger while asking. He totally blushes and definitely stumbles over his words but is visibly happy when you agree
Dainsleif
Dain is also a hard one
You had to bring it up and when you did he kinda tilted his head and was like “huh? marriage? What for?”
I mean, he’s been alone long enough he’d be the kind to really not think about it until someone else mentioned it
You weren’t mad at the reaction per se, but you walked off to let him think it over
And he did. He spent a lot of time thinking over it, trying to figure out where to get a ring--it’s not like he can ask an abyss herald or anything-- and working through how people do the marriage thing this many years after the downfall of Khaenri’ah
When he proposes, you’ve all but forgotten about the conversation, so you’re pleasantly surprised when he takes a knee and asks you to marry him
Unlike Xiao he’s super formal about it. As the Twilight sword, he’s no stranger to ceremony and formality and as direct as he is, you’re worth it
He’s actually scared when you don’t reply immediately, but gives you a rare wide smile when you accept
Zhongli
This guy has his shit together
Like, I still don’t entirely how his “those who renege on their contracts face the wrath of the rock” thing  works in a relationship but he’s not nearly as... inexperienced with people as Dain and Xiao are
100% done according to Liyue tradition. What that tradition is, I have no idea, but I can imagine it being  a warm spring evening
The two of you are on a walk enjoying the wonderful weather when he leads you to a less visible place (Can’t see him letting others see what should be an intimate moment)
When he’s sure that the two of you won’t be disturbed, he gets down on one knee and pops the question
When you say yes he gives you one of his amazing close-eyed smiles
He’s lived for 6000 years, but this is going to be one off the memories he treasures most

It's Xiao through and through
A Nightmare Thrice Cursed
This is take two. I deleted the last one because I refuse to put out subpar work and the first draft certainly was. I’m a bit more confident this time. And I’m not so tired and frustrated that I can’t reread it before posting. And honestly it's still not my greatest work
Summary: You have a nightmare and Xiao is therefore you when you wake up
Word Count: 689
CW/TW: Blood, violence, not-death, hurt/comfort, nightmares (ya know, the fun stuff)
Xiao/Fem!Reader
Lighting flashes against a flat pewter sky. You stand beneath it, statue still, heedless of the damp hair that clings to your face or the rainwater that drips from your nose.
Weather ceased to matter the moment you drew your sword.
Perhaps it was fate, or at least well deserved, having the yaksha you love and a handful of Millelith come for your head. You were the one who opened the treasure. A treasure that was thrice warded, thrice warned, and now, thrice cursed.
The first curse was pain, akin to a thousand strikes of lightning as a mindless abomination stole control over your body. You didn’t even have time to call Xiao’s name.
The second curse made itself known as the new occupant of your body rampaged. Men, women, children, it didn’t matter to the monster you unleashed. Blood covered the Guili Plains from the Dihua Marsh to the statue of the Seven just outside of the Harbor. Of the many voices crying out for help, yours was the most fervent, and likely the most unheard.
After the bloodbath, it was inevitable that the Conqueror of Demons came for your life. In truth, your heart leapt at the sight of your lover’s masked visage. What you couldn’t have known is that the thunder was an omen.
You were forced to draw your sword, the very one gifted by the Yaksha when you first got together, and use it against him.
The battle raged on. The Millelith fell quickly. The battle between an ancient demon and an equal ancient Adeptus proved to be too much for them to keep up.
Several hours later, the fight has come to an end and you’re still alive. Alive, free, and cursed a third time--this time, with loss.
You should have lost your head. Very few fight a Yaksha to the death and live to tell about it. Certainly you shouldn’t have even if you really wanted to. You were begging to have the love of your life to free you, even at the cost of your life.
Instead, your blade pierces his heart.
You yank your sword out of his chest, dropping it so you can catch Xiao’s limp body.
His blood stains your shirt. You push his bangs out of his face, watching as the last light leaves the eyes of Liyue’s last Yaksha. Still, you can’t help but plead. “Please, please, please. Xiao. Don’t leave me. I didn’t mean to.”
“...Xiao.”
“Y/N!”
Your eyes fly open and you suck in a burning breath. “Xiao, you---you were gone. I-I---”
“I’m right here. Take a deep breath. In and out, in and out.”
The golden eyed Yaksha guides you through a breathing exercise until he’s satisfied with the rhythm of your breathing.
Once your breathing has settled, you curl into a ball, pressing as close to Xiao as the physical laws of the world will allow. The tears that have been prickling your eyes spill over.
Xiao holds you while you sob, rubbing small circles on your back.
The light of a nearby flash of lightning surrounds you, immediately followed by the roar of thunder. You flinch, trying to hide from the sounds that accompanied Xiao’s dreamland death.
The Yaksha pushes you back so that he can wipe your tears and see your expression properly. “What was it this time?”
Once you would have turned away to deal with the aftermath of a particularly bad nightmare yourself, but you’ve lost count of how many times Xiao has helped you through these, so you’re forthcoming in your explanation. Or as forthcoming as you can be around hiccups and another round of tears.
When you’re finished, Xiao pulls you close again. “I wouldn’t do that to you. As much as I would hate to hurt you, I wouldn’t let a demon steal your body like that. I owe that much to the wonderful woman who dares to love a Yaksha. I would free you.”
“Promise?”
“I promise. But I don’t think you’d open the treasure to start with.”
“Probably not,” you mumble into his chest.
“Now rest. Let me chase your demons away.”
